Australia: RBA Raises Interest Rates as Expected, Says More Hikes in Store

Investing.com — The Reserve Bank of Australia raised interest rates as expected on Tuesday and flagged more hikes this year as it moves to control overheated inflation, but also warned that economic growth is likely to slow in the near-term.

The RBA hiked its cash target rate by 25 basis points to an over 10-year high of 3.35%, having now raised rates by a cumulative 325 bps in this rate hike cycle.

RBA Governor Philip Lowe said in a statement that more interest rate hikes were still needed, given that inflation is trending well above the central bank’s target rate of 2% to 3%.

Florida Mass Shooting Suspect Leads Police on Chase, Killed After Carjacking

Alex Greene, 21, is believed to have been involved in Jan. 30 shooting in Lakeland, Florida

A 21-year-old suspect in a mass drive-by shooting that wounded 11 men in Florida last month was killed by a police officer on Monday after a chase and a carjacking, authorities said.

Investigators were conducting surveillance on the suspect, identified as Alex Greene, whom detectives wanted to take in on an outstanding burglary warrant to talk to him about what they’ve called a “targeted attack” near Iowa Avenue North and Plum Street in Lakeland on Jan. 30.

“We are very confident he was in fact involved; to what extent we don’t know yet,” Lakeland Police Chief Sammy Taylor said.

However, Greene got into a pickup truck and started to drive away during the surveillance, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said during a news conference.

Lakeland police went in pursuit along a heavily traveled road until an officer in an unmarked car performed a pit maneuver and stopped the pickup.

Greene ran through the busy traffic to evade capture, and the officer, identified as police Capt. Eric Harper, ran in pursuit.

When Greene realized he couldn’t get away, he ran toward a restaurant where a woman was standing outside her car with the doors open, Judd said. The woman saw Greene and tried to close the doors but pushed her aside and jumped into the car.

Harper approached the vehicle with his gun drawn but Greene refused to stop.

“The suspect takes off in her car, drives toward Capt. Harper, who shoots six times,” Judd said. “The car continues down a road, weaves through flower beds and crashes into a building.”

Law enforcement officials pulled Greene from the car and started performing CPR. He was taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead. No other injuries were reported during the pursuit.

Greene had 10 previous felony charges, including fleeing to elude law enforcement, battery on a law enforcement officer, possession of weapons and resisting arrest, Judd said. He had an outstanding warrant for burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary.

Texas has fired back at Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration over new green agenda rules that threaten to harm farmers, landowners, and energy producers across five states.

The rule states that landowners must take steps that include ensuring “climate resilience” to protect the species, which could have a huge impact on farmers and energy companies.

British voters are once again needed to fulfil the promise of “taking back control” of the country’s borders through a Brexit-style national referendum on leaving the deportation-blocking European Court of Human Rights, Nigel Farage has argued.

The Conservative Party of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak cannot be trusted to free the UK from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which the Boris Johnson administration opted to remain in despite leaving the European Union, and therefore a national referendum and a “dramatic political insurgency” will be required to break the final chains of the bloc’s hold on Britain, Nigel Farage, the leader of the Brexit movement said.

UK: Eco-Vigilante Looks Like Mary Poppins

THE CCTV images released by police of three people they want to talk to following the incidents of tyre deflating in New Street, Henley, by eco-vigilante group the Tyre Extinguishers caused some mirth online.

Josh Mundy commented: “In an era where you can literally zoom in from space and look at Barry from No 7 picking his nose in his garden, you can’t get a clear image of people that doesn’t look like it was taken on a potato. No wonder you never catch anyone.”

Stephen Powell said: “I’ve got a 10-year-old Nokia that takes better photos.”

Luke Wood asked: “Was this picture taken with a breeze block?”

Gary Riddle posted a picture of Patrick, a SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon character, in response to an image of one of the three with a triangular-shaped hat.

Another of the people in the images was wearing a long, fur-lined coat and a hat.

John Speakman wrote: “I think the first one is Mary Poppins. Not like her to do this, though.”

Caroline Glick: What Blinken Refuses to See

The 21-year-old who massacred seven Jews and wounded another five when he opened fire on them as they left synagogue last Friday night in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood of Jerusalem wasn’t a lone wolf. Neither was the 13-year-old boy who shot a Jewish father and son Saturday afternoon as they walked home from synagogue in Ir David in Jerusalem. How do we know?

A lone wolf is someone who operates outside the confines of his society and, in criminal cases, at least, does something sociopathic. The 13- and 21-year-old terrorists in Jerusalem were acting in absolute conformity with the norms and expectations of their society. The gunmen’s parents praised them as heroes. As soon as the news that Kairy Musa Alqam massacred innocent Jews in Neve Yaakov spread, Arabs throughout Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, Gaza, the Galilee and the Negev broke out in celebration. They passed out candies in the streets, shot off fireworks and posted jubilant entries on their social media accounts.

The Palestinian Authority didn’t condemn either terror attack. And this makes sense, because like the rest of Palestinian society, the PLO government in Judea and Samaria and the Hamas government in Gaza enthusiastically support mass murder of Jews. In preschools, elementary schools, high schools and universities, from Hebron to Gaza, Ramallah to Tul Karm and Jenin, students of all ages spent the week celebrating the massacre and attempted massacre in Jerusalem. Preschoolers “reenacted” the massacre in Neve Yaakov with toy guns. Little girls in pigtails paraded around holding photos of Alqam. High school girls wrote poems in his memory. Boys pledged to follow in his footsteps.

Alqam murdered seven Jews and wounded five more on International Holocaust Memorial Day. The anniversary is notable. The parallels between Nazi Germany and Palestinian society are overwhelming…

Exemplary EU Candidate Ukraine: Police Chiefs Running a Prostitute Ring?

It is worth following the social media pages of the Ukrainian Internal Security Service, because sometimes they reveal quite amazing facts. Embezzlement, bribery, smuggling, forgery, robbery, and since the outbreak of the war, collaboration with the Russians — not a day goes by without some kind of horror case being reported. Accordingly, high-ranking Ukrainian police officers are said to have been running a pimping ring.

Recently, a series of scandals have also reached the top management of law enforcement: It was revealed that the Kiev central police station was running a prostitute ring.

Ukraine Replaces Defense Minister Amid Corruption Scandal

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, who has held his post since the Russian invasion began in February 2022, will be replaced by military intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov to “strengthen military-industrial cooperation,” according to leaders of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Servant of the People Party.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has been dealing with a string of corruption scandals, the latest one concerning excessive payments for food. Other allegations included dubious military contracts with under-the-table kickbacks to deputy ministers, the sale of military equipment — including American hardware — to international buyers, and embezzlement from the national winter aid budget.

Biden’s Afghan Weapons in Hands of Terror Group That Plotted U.S. Attacks

by Daniel Greenfield

Lashkar-e-Taiba caught the world’s attention during the Mumbai massacre in 2008 when terrorists trained by the Jihadist group funded by Osama bin Laden unleashed a wave of violence across the Indian city that killed over 150 people including six Americans.

After murdering Americans and scouting potential targets in the United States, including a chemical plant and the Capitol Building, harboring the 1993 World Trade Center bombing operative and a terrorist who opened fire at CIA headquarters, the Islamic terror group is now arming its men with the weapons that Biden abandoned to the Taliban in Afghanistan.

NBC News reported that police in India’s Kashmir region found that Jihadis are “carrying M4s, M16s and other U.S.-made arms and ammunition that have rarely been seen in the 30-year conflict” due to a “regional flood of U.S.-funded weapons that fell into the hands of the Taliban”.

Beyond rifles, an Indian general had previously described “a spillover of high-tech weapons, night-vision devices and equipment, which were left by the Americans in Afghanistan.”

While the weapons and equipment pose a threat to India, they may also enable the Pakistani Jihadist group to pursue its longstanding ambition of staging an attack on the United States.

The House Homeland Security Committee had been previously warned that the Jihadist group poses a threat to the United States. It has not only killed Americans, but recruited them, giving the Muslim group extensive capabilities to carry out attacks inside this country…

  1. Covid stress, metal health and psychosis. Stress increases prolactin increase which increases inflammation. Inflammation in the brain causes neurons to be overactive and the result is psychosis. What we used to know as a “nervous breakdown” is actually stress caused inflammation and psychosis/schizophrenia. Once the stress is reduced and inflammation reduced, patient improves. That’s why low Vitamin D, high prolactin and bullying are key factors.
Control inflammation for good mental health.

    While we wait for Armageddon

    7/2-23

    By Lars Hedegaard / snaphanen.dk

I’m sorry to bore you with a little history lesson, but that’s because, unlike most other historians, I believe that you can actually learn something from history.

You can’t use history in detail to predict the future, but you can recognize patterns that are good to note if you want to avoid the worst disasters.

The current world situation is similar to that which preceded the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939 – except that in many respects it is even more dangerous.

At least Hitler didn’t have nuclear weapons, so he couldn’t destroy the world at the touch of a button. Both Russia and China can do it.

Hitler attacked Poland on 1 September 1939 on the assumption that neither France nor Britain would live up to the guarantees they had given the Polish government.

He had just seen how the democratic powers had sacrificed Czechoslovakia the previous year by handing over the Sudetenland to the German dictator, thus leaving the country defenceless.

“I saw them in Munich, and they were worms,” Hitler said of the British and French leaders, and so he could not imagine that these creatures would lift a finger just because he took another country.

All the evidence suggests that China’s leader Xi Jingpin regards Joe Biden in the same way that Adolf Hitler regarded Neville Chamberlain and Édouard Daladier, and who can blame him?

He has seen how Biden has compromised US security by sabotaging the country’s energy production, by handing over control of the southern border to Mexican drug cartels, by not holding China to account for the Covid pandemic, by allowing China to buy up large tracts of land in the US, by infiltrating the most prestigious American universities, by collecting data on US citizens using TikTok and by killing hundreds of thousands of Americans with Chinese-made fentanyl.

The Chinese communists have been licking their lips while Biden has been undermining the US economy and economic strength in the world by pumping money without a head and a debt burden that threatens the dollar’s position as the global reserve currency.

While China makes no secret of its ambition to become the world’s only superpower, leaders in Beijing can rejoice that the US Defense Department and Pentagon seem more preoccupied with preaching critical race theory to the troops than preparing to counter China’s next military adventure.

And now the spy balloon, which was allowed to hover over US territory for several days without any action by the Biden administration.

As this tragedy unfolds, Xi Jingpin is pleased to note that the US political class continues to regard Russia as its most dangerous enemy and is spending countless economic and military resources in Ukraine, while the worst threat to the US and the rest of the West comes from China.

How can Xi Jingpin think he risks an effective American response when he could launch a military assault on Taiwan as early as 2024?

At least as long as Biden is president, he has nothing to fear. He just needs to remind Biden of all the millions he and the rest of the Biden clan have received from China for betraying the United States.

And what about the rest of the Democratic world? Who do you think will defend Canada, Australia and Western Europe when the US falls? Doesn’t anyone in NATO even think about it, or are they content to hate Trump?

  4. French Teenager Saves 13-Year-Old Girl From Rape by Algerian Migrant With 11 Convictions-
Firstly that filth should be castrated then put to hard labour- there has to be a deterrent in place that really means something. The problem with these Muslim migrants is that they have little respect for women young or old-castration would immediately reduce their standing in the Islamic community and much more besides. The number of such occurrences throughout Europe and certainly in the UK should be of a major concern to the authorities but so far it appears not to be.

    • Why in the bloody heck would you throw more good money after bad with these GD 3rd world savages!? You either hang it or put a bullet in it and call it a day! Quit thinking that we are going to deal with these uncivilized savages with civilized means, those days are over!

  5. Re. Canada: Catholic High School Student Arrested After Suspension for Opposing Transgender Ideology

Either authorities turn their attention in this matter towards Islam and what it thinks about all this, or Islam’s looming power grab will put an end to this nonsense. Whichever way the future turns out, this particular vein of arrogant stupidity has no place in it. They just don’t know it yet.

  6. UK: Former London Police Officer Sentenced to Life in Prison for Sex Crimes.

US behind Nord Stream sabotage – legendary NYT journalist

The Nord Stream pipelines were destroyed last September by the US in a covert operation, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has claimed. The legendary reporter made the bombshell revelation in an article posted to his newly launched blog on Substack on Wednesday.

The explosives were planted at the pipelines back in June 2022 by US Navy divers under the guise of the BALTOPS 22 NATO exercise, Hersh reported, citing a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning.

The journalist noted that he had reached out to the White House and CIA for comment, with both firmly rejecting the claim that the US “took out” the pipelines as “utterly false.”

The bombs were detonated three months later on September 26 with a remote signal sent by a sonar buoy.

The buoy was dropped near the Nord Stream pipelines by a Norwegian Navy P8 surveillance plane, according to the report.

The operation came to fruition following months of back-and-forth between the White House, CIA, and military, with officials focusing on how to leave no trace of US involvement in the attack. The planning process began back in December 2021, when a special task force was created with the direct participation of US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

“The Navy proposed using a newly commissioned submarine to assault the pipeline directly. The Air Force discussed dropping bombs with delayed fuses that could be set off remotely. The CIA argued that whatever was done, it would have to be covert. Everyone involved understood the stakes,” the report read.

Read more No evidence Russia linked to Nord Stream sabotage – German prosecutor
The source told Hersh that everybody involved understood the operation was not some “kiddie stuff” but was actually an “an act of war.” Throughout “all of this scheming” certain officials urged the White House to drop the idea entirely. “Some working guys in the CIA and the State Department were saying, ‘Don’t do this. It’s stupid and will be a political nightmare if it comes out,’” according to the source.

Originally, the explosives were to have a 48-hour timer and were set to be planted by the end of BALTOPS22, Hersh reported, citing the same source. The two-day window, however, was ultimately deemed to be too close to the end of the exercise by the White House, which ordered the task force to come up with an on-demand method of detonating them. This ultimately turned out to be the sonar buoy.

The administration of President Joe Biden has been “focused” on jeopardizing the Nord Stream pipelines – initially through sanctions, and, ultimately, by direct sabotage – seeing it as key to swaying Europe to its cause amid the then-looming conflict in Ukraine, Hersh noted.

“As long as Europe remained dependent on the pipelines for cheap natural gas, Washington was afraid that countries like Germany would be reluctant to supply Ukraine with the money and weapons it needed to defeat Russia,” he wrote.

Moscow provided a similar take on the incident shortly after the blasts, branding them a “terrorist attack” and stating that the US was the nation that benefited most from it, by accelerating Europe’s attempts to wean itself off of Russian gas.

Throughout his career, Hersh has reported on numerous explosive stories, including war crimes by the US military and high-profile political scandals. Exposing the My Lai massacre by US troops in Vietnam scored the journalist the Pulitzer Prize in 1970. Other notable stories Hersh reported on include the Watergate scandal, the CIA illegal domestic spying, as well as the American military’s torture and abuse of detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.
