Babylon on the Spree

The new German government, dominated by the Greens, is exorbitantly lavish with the taxpayers’ money — especially for the most trivial and narcissistic purposes.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Tichys Einblick. The translator’s comments are in square brackets:

Habeck is looking for new legal advisors for €20 million

Photographers, stylists, make-up artists — and now lawyers: Taxpayers’ money is particularly loose at the top of the Greens-led ministries. [Why shouldn’t it? Since as parasites they don’t know the meaning of the word WORK.]

Are the officials at the Ministry of Economics perhaps concerned that their energy transition will go wrong — and therefore need more legal advisers? One might believe that if one reads the note that Minister Robert Habeck is offering a new framework contract for external lawyers by tender. Total value: €20 million.

The contract is to be limited to the end of 2024 and relieve the ministry through “consulting services to be provided at short notice”. Habeck had already complained in September about the high workload of his employees. Incidentally, the same departments are always affected. Namely those who have to deal with the energy crisis and the supposedly non-existent electricity crisis.

The ministry had increased its number of positions just in time for the start of the traffic light coalition*. Habeck had created 271 new jobs, not least to carry out his duties as Vice Chancellor. He is assisted by three parliamentary and four civil servants. According to the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, it has 2,187 employees, and an additional 253 employees are “currently seconded, on leave or temporarily transferred”. The BMWK was in line with the trend: as is well known, the traffic light allowed itself a total of around 10,000 new jobs. [Thank Satan for creating nepotism.]

It wasn’t long ago that Robert Habeck drew attention to himself with tenders. In November, the Economic Minister was looking for a new photographer. The framework agreement: a four-year contract period for €400,000. The Bild called Habeck “Minister Vanity”.

Party friend Annalena Baerbock is of course not going to be left behind, either. What is for the one a photographer is for the other a stylist. Whether Berlin, Brussels or Kyiv — the hairdo will last, thought the Foreign Minister. The ministry pays €7,500 a month, i.e. €360,000 over four years, for Baerbock to represent our country properly styled abroad. It’s a shame that a stylist like that can’t brush up on phrases as well. In addition, the Federal Foreign Office created 136 new jobs.

The Greens also know how to impress at the state level. For example, with the Berlin Transport Senator Bettina Jarasch. The administration spent around €71,000 on its external photographers in 2022. Her staff also shelled out €1,256 for the make-up artist. Jarasch’s office sometimes spends more money on good PR than the governing mayor, Franziska Giffey. But if Jarasch is the first Green to be elected Governing Mayor of Berlin, this point will certainly soon be addressed.

Afterword from the translator:

When one listens to Habeck, especially when he talks in his jocular and friendly way, it makes one think of the snake in the Garden of Eden.

How many people could be fed, that right now cannot afford groceries to feed their families, with this money they’re splashing out without a thought? How many pensioners and homeless Germans could be helped back onto their feet with all this money?

Alas, one should never underestimate the indifference of these politicians to the plight of those they pushed into penury with their policies.

  1. In Germany it will be tragedy very soon !, this parasites which none of them want to Work!, and this parasites in Bundestag! Which they think they can spend money like toilet paper, on hard working people, just unbelievable!

  2. Shades of what happen to German money aka 1927-1930 ?

What will the exotic imported parasites and the woke idiotic leaders do when the money they spend like it comes out of a firehouse is worth less then yesterdays newspaper?

There is a no talent actor leading a very corrupt Eastern European country getting billions from the western powers of the world. Could a no-talent failed “artist” or some other crazy con-man loser take the control in Germany when everything goes sideways again?

    • That’s a disservice to the Austrian corporal.

No one can fault him for not serving in the military, and indeed he was awarded an Iron Cross for bravery under fire in his role as a dispatch runner. The Cokehead of Kiev by contrast has worn a flack vest and fatigues but never actually served.

  3. This reminds me of a joke I once heard.

    Two politicians visit a kindergarten.
The headmistress tells them what she needs and everything is denied by the politicians.

The the politicians visit a prison and they grant everything: a library, swimmingpool, training room, TVs for every inmate etc.

One of their colleagues ask them why they did it this way.
One of them replies, that they will never sent to kindergarten but they may sent to prison.

  4. Mr. Lund, something got lost in the translation. If vultures the likes of what’s in German govt. show up like they have, you may assume they’re feeding on a corpse, and not a living body. Also a good way to determine the general health of a society. Communists are better at spending other peoples money in prodigious quantities, than capitalists are, because they are always trying to outspend them to defeat them. And since govts. of either stripe never make any of their own, the race to the bottom is both rancorous and ugly. I really hate watching people victimized there, but at home we have the same kind of vultures busy as hell.

    • When the money runs out or is deemed worthless, there will be nowhere for these vultures to run, then the mobs anger will be worth pulling up a lawnchair and good glass of bourbon to watch the ensuing bloodletting.
