After Years of Democratic Alarms, 0% of Black Georgia Voters Report ‘Poor’ Experience Voting

A full 0% of black voters in Georgia report having a “poor” experience voting in the 2022 midterms, a notable showing after several years of Democratic politicians arguing that the state is working to suppress black votes.

Multiple left-wing politicians over the last several years have repeatedly voiced an extremist conspiracy theory that Georgia worked to bar nonwhite voters from easy access to the polls. In 2019, for instance, now-Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg claimed without evidence that “racially motivated patterns of voter suppression” were responsible for Stacey Abrams losing the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial race.

Those allegations have never been substantiated. In a poll this month, meanwhile, not a single black voter in Georgia reported having a “poor” experience voting in the state this past November.

A black truck driver is shown pleading with a group of demonstrators in a video taken by a Daily Caller field reporter Friday.

Police departments in major cities braced themselves for massive demonstrations across the country following the release of police body cam footage of the alleged beating of Tyre Nichols, in Memphis, Tennessee. Five police officers have been fired and charged with second-degree murder after they pulled Nichols over during a traffic stop and a “confrontation occurred” which reportedly sent Nichols to the hospital in critical condition. Nichols died three days later.

“I understand that, and I feel everything. But look, man, holding up traffic don’t do nothing,” the driver said in the video, taken by Daily Caller reporter Jorge Ventura.

Demonstrations Begin Across the Country as Memphis Releases Footage of Tyre Nichols Beating

The City of Memphis publicly disclosed footage Friday showing the Jan. 7 arrest of Tyre Nichols as protesters mourned his death.

Five black officers were fired and charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, official misconduct and official oppression in connection with Nichols’ death, according to Axios. In the earliest police body camera video released Friday, officers pull Nichols out of a vehicle and bring him to the ground before he runs away down the street, while later footage shows officers catching Nichols on another street, ultimately beating him and dragging him up against a car.

“Like so many, I was outraged and deeply pained to see the horrific video of the beating that resulted in Tyre Nichols’ death,” President Joe Biden said Friday. “It is yet another painful reminder of the profound fear and trauma, the pain, and the exhaustion that Black and Brown Americans experience every single day.”

The MPD had said Nichols was pulled over for “reckless driving,” and he ultimately died in the hospital three days later. Demonstrators began marching in Memphis prior to the footage’s release, the Daily Caller’s Jorge Ventura reported from the scene.

Some protestors in the city shut down a major highway Friday evening, chanting, “No, Justice, No Peace,” Ventura said.

Demonstrations were organized in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Seattle, according to the New York Post. “If you need to express your anger and outrage, do so peacefully,” New York Mayor Eric Adams said.

Federal Food Stamps Program Hits Record Costs in 2022

In early January, The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board warned that one peril of a large administrative state is the mischief agencies can get up to when no one is watching.

Specifically, they highlight the overreach of the Agriculture Department, which expanded food-stamp benefits by evading the process for determining benefits and end-running Congressional review.

Exhibit A in the over-reach is the fact that the cost of the federal food stamps program known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) increased to a record $119.5 billion in 2022, according to data released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture…

Florida Cops to Upgrade Biometric Tech for Potential Future Facial Recognition

Florida’s Department of Law Enforcement wants about $20 million through 2025 to replace and expand the existing Biometric Identification System. The new system, which will use French identity technology firm IDEMIA’s Multi-biometric Identification System (MBIS), is capable of using other biometrics including iris scans and facial recognition.

According to Lucy Saunders, the head of the Crime Information Bureau, the new system will be faster and more capable than the existing system, which has been used since 2009.

Like the old system, the new system would still forward data to the FBI for background checks.

House Votes to Limit Strategic Petroleum Reserve Release, Against Biden Admin’s Wishes

The Republican-controlled House of Representatives has passed a bill to limit the ability of President Joe Biden’s administration to release America’s oil stockpile.

After a lengthy debate over numerous amendments, the House passed the bill on Friday, against the Biden admin’s wishes.

The move to protect the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) also came despite the Biden administration’s promise of a veto.

The Strategic Production Response Act passed 221—201, first introduced on Thursday, is unlikely to clear the Democrat-controlled Senate, however, where it will need 60 votes to pass.

The three-page bill (pdf) would mandate a plan for additional oil and gas leasing on federal lands and waters to offset drawdowns of the SPR.

New Rand Study Breaks From US Hawks, Warns Against “Protracted Conflict” In Ukraine

The famous Pentagon and US government-linked think tank RAND Corporation has finally attempted to inject some rare realism into the Washington establishment’s thinking and planning regarding the Ukraine war. So far throughout eleven months of conflict which remains largely stalemated, though the last few days have seen Russian military momentum and advance grow in the Bakhmut offensive, US and NATO officials have unhesitatingly and enthusiastically cheered on every major escalation of the West’s involvement.

But the new 32-page RAND document has sounded the alarm over the dangers of this approach, which is unusual given the think tank is notorious for being the hawkish academic arm of the military-industrial complex. This was especially the case in the Vietnam war era, when RAND became infamous for its fueling the policy behind various insurgency and counterinsurgency fiascos in Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand.

RAND now argues that in Ukraine “US interests would be best served by avoiding a protracted conflict,” and that “costs and risks of a long war…outweigh the possible benefits.”

Housing Crisis: How COVID-19 Policies Worsened Renters Plight

The following is part one of a two part feature on the Canadian housing crisis.

Nikolaus Petrogiani moved back to Toronto in May after five years in Australia, settling into a downtown condominium rental with his mom and brother until he found a place of his own.

However, not only has his search been unfruitful, their landlord sold the condo and informed them just around Christmas they have until March to move out. Although Petrogiani is looking to move into an apartment alone, that’s proving difficult, so he and a friend are looking for a place they can share as roommates.

“We’re talking to a realtor who’s helping us find a place. We told him what we want and our budget, and we’ve gone to some viewings,” Petrogiani said, adding that they have put offers in and been “ghosted” by landlords spoiled for choice.

“It’s going down the wire and, personally, I’m sure I’ll be able to stay with someone in the city who could take me in, who would let me stay on their couch until I find a place. Not everyone’s as fortunate as I am to have supportive family. It can be very tough and scary. Maybe you eventually have to cave and live in a basement where your head’s hitting the ceiling, and with no windows, for $2,000. I’m staying positive but it is worrisome.

“It’s out of my budget to live alone. It’s too hard.”

Petrogiani’s struggle isn’t unique.

Toronto Struggles With Wave of Public Transport Violence

TORONTO — Commuters in Toronto have been navigating the city’s public transport system with growing unease, following a surge of violent incidents targeting both riders and operators.

As of Friday, there were seven reported incidents of violence in the last seven days on the transport system of Canada’s largest city.

This includes a woman who was stabbed multiple times by a stranger on one of Toronto’s iconic streetcars. The next day, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the torso on a bus.

In another incident, a bus operator was shot with a BB gun by two teenagers. Four days later, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) said two other employees were chased by a person with a syringe at a subway station.

The wave of seemingly random violence has alarmed residents, and has dominated the conversation in Toronto over the last week.

“Every time I’m on the subway, I literally need to hide,” said one Toronto woman in a TikTok posted on Thursday.

“It’s definitely scary, I’m concerned for my safety and (that of) others as well,” said another in an interview with local news outlet BlogTo.

Germans Believe Their Country is Going Down the Tubes

The Germans have lost faith in their country as a leading economic nation. Once the pride of the EU, today only 39 percent of the population believe that Germany will still play a leading role on the world economic market in 15 years.

Fewer and fewer Germans are satisfied with their state. This is the result of a recent Allensbach survey. Some 80 percent of all Germans are of the opinion that the state is inhibiting itself in its development through too much bureaucracy. This also means that fewer and fewer believe in a good economic future. Only 39 percent still think that Germany will still be one of the leaders in the world economy in 15 years. In the past, this number used to be almost 60 percent.

HE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Hundreds of climate activists blocked one of the main roads into The Hague on Saturday, defying attempts to prevent their protest that have sparked concerns about restrictions on the right to demonstrate in the Netherlands.

The protesters, many waving colored flags with the symbol of environmental group Extinction Rebellion and one holding a sign saying, in Dutch, “This is a dead end road,” gathered on the A12 road near the temporary home of the Dutch parliament. Police and hundreds more demonstrators looked on.

Protesters who ignored police orders to leave the road were picked up and carried away one by one to waiting buses and driven away. Hours after the demonstration began it was unclear how many people had been detained. Police said in a tweet that many of the activists left voluntarily when told to by officers.

  1. Some media write assumptions that Israel launched strikes from the territory of Azerbaijan.

The funnel of the world war is spinning ever stronger.

How do you keep your sanity? Since I don’t believe in the idea of salvation through the teachings of the Jewish carpenter, I save myself by reading Stoic philosophers.

    • Elena, may I suggest reading “The Unseen Realm” by Dr. Michael S. Heiser and that Jewish carpenter just might make more sense. The book is a deep dive with footnotes with a website with other footnotes, so be warned, but it’s worth it!

    • Elena: Do not believe such media reports. Israel would never launch military strikes from any country other than Israel.

  2. Hello again..
My wounds are slowly healing and now i can use my right hand :- i decide to share some toughts again..
    1) War/Ukraine is NOT what you read in your newspaper and twitter..
There is a lot deception ,lies and mischef going on ALL sides involved..
A lot of CORRUPTION related to donated military equipment..
To the point when Ukraine Minister of Defense was fired last week..
I/m not going back there after i fully recover..
After the War there will be a political stormsh..t of Biblical scale.
Trump is only person who can sort it out ,preludium compose by American Democrats to start 3 World War..
You know me..I/m NOT a Russia lover..
As a pragmatic person i have to say ,Russia has a valid points..
    2) This current Russia War think , was German made and their obsession to create IV Reich..
As in the past they lured Russian idiots to the concept ” Europe from Lisbon to Vladivostok “..ruled by Germany and Russia..accept Soviets already forget how it ended last time in June 1941..
Since Germany is an ex-evil empire that had democracy forced upon it, they have no conception of what it’s like to earn freedom. Germany might be a democracy, but it’s leader and peoples still have a reich mindset. Regards Baron& CO..

    • Thank you for your thoughts. I have decided that it is not possible to get a straight story on the Ukraine/ Russia situation in the western media.

      • Over there is a Carnage and TOTAL Chaos..
What you read and see on TV screen is a new form of Sci-Fi Hollywood Entertainment Production.. At least on our ” western” side..
Busy with watching ” War in Ukraine”you have no time to watch and analyze REAL WAR lunch against whole Western World by Davos Agenda..
