‘At Least One Administrator’ Was Alerted 6-Year-Old Had Possible Weapon Before Shooting, Virginia School Official Says

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The superintendent of Newport News Public Schools has revealed new information in the shooting of a teacher at Richneck Elementary School by a 6-year-old student last week.

During a virtual town hall with Richneck parents on Thursday, officials said at least one administrator knew that the student may have had a weapon on him hours before the shooting happened.

Two and a half hours later, police were storming the school after that boy shot his first-grade teacher.

Facebook Censored ‘Often-True Content’ On COVID Shots to Appease Biden White House, Emails Show

A bombshell batch of emails between the White House and Facebook executives reveals that the social media giant has been censoring “often-true content” about COVID-19 vaccines to appease the Biden administration.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey released the documents earlier this week.

The emails show a Facebook official admitted to suppressing information that isn’t false because it conflicts with the Biden admin’s narrative.

Aside from censoring true content that is shared a lot, the Facebook staffer assures the White House that the Big Tech company will “remove these Groups, Pages, and Accounts” that share popular information that may create “vaccine hesitancy.”

Idaho Murders Suspect Bryan Kohberger’s Grad Program Had Access to ‘Crime Lab’ With Camera Streams: Insider

EXCLUSIVE: PULLMAN, Wash. — Bryan Kohberger’s doctoral program at Washington State University maintains access to a “crime lab” database of police bodycam videos as well as live streams from security cameras on and off campus, an insider told Fox News Digital.

The programs are referenced on the school’s public website and are used to study policing and the “complex social interactions” between patrol officers and the people they encounter, as well as other government functions.

The source, who works for the university and has direct knowledge of the department, is warning that the research tools, in the wrong hands, could have allowed a suspected killer to view unredacted crime scene images, potential videos of death and even live streams of surveillance cameras with remote controls that allow the viewer to zoom in on faces. The university told Fox News Digital Friday evening that Kohberger was not part of the program.

Indiana University Says Student Was Targeted in Bus Stabbing for Being Asian

Indiana University says an 18-year-old student was targeted and stabbed on a bus in Bloomington for being Asian.

The student was attacked Wednesday afternoon on A Bloomington transit bus.

Billie Davis, 56, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery and battery by means of a deadly weapon, according to online court documents.

It wasn’t clear if the defendant had a lawyer who could speak on their behalf. The public defender’s office for Monroe County, Indiana didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

An 18-year-old Carmel, Indiana, woman told investigators that while waiting for the doors of the bus to open, another passenger began to strike her repeatedly in the head, police said in a statement.

The student, who has not been publicly identified, had multiple stab wounds to her head, was bleeding and was transported to a hospital, police said.

Police said that based on video, the woman and suspect had no interaction before the attack.

Police did not respond to a question about whether the attack is being investigated as a hate crime.

“This week, Bloomington was sadly reminded that anti-Asian hate is real and can have painful impacts on individuals and our community,” said James Wimbush, Indiana University vice president of diversity, equity and multicultural affairs. “No one should face harassment or violence due to their background, ethnicity or heritage. Instead, the Bloomington and IU communities are stronger because of the vast diversity of identities and perspectives that make up our campus and community culture.”

The university is providing counseling support to members of the community who need it.

The university’s Asian Culture Center called the attack “a horrific and targeted anti-Asian hate crime.”

“Our thoughts go out to the victim of this horrendous act, to her family, and to everyone in the community who is affected by this racial violence,” it said in a statement Friday. “We are outraged and heartbroken by this unprovoked act of violence, but we also worry for the well-being of our community.”

Matt Taibbi Rips ‘Reprehensible’ Ted Lieu After Dem Accuses Twitter Files Writer of ‘Kremlin Talking Points’

“Twitter Files” journalist Matt Taibbi went into a viral sparring match with Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., over the latest installment of Twitter revelations that implicates Democratic lawmakers.

On Thursday, Taibbi reported that top Democrats including California Rep. Adam Schiff, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal falsely claimed in 2018 that Russian actors on Twitter were elevating the hashtag #ReleaseTheMemo, referring to the Devin Nunes report about flaws in the Trump-Russia investigation, despite being told directly by Twitter executives that it found no evidence that Russian bots were behind it.

Lieu was quick to dismiss Taibbi’s reporting.

“You can believe gaslighting by @mtaibbi, or you can believe facts. Russian meddling was not manufactured,” Lieu tweeted Thursday. “DOJ indicted 12 Russian Intel officers for hacking: ‘defendants claimed to be American hacktivists and used…Twitter accounts to promote the website.’“

On Friday, Taibbi responded, tweeting “What @TedLieu leaves out is that the DOJ indicted 12 individuals they knew would never show up in court, but had to drop two related cases of companies that did fight back, rather than go through discovery.”

National Security Experts Criticize Media, Scientists Who Dismissed COVID-19 Lab Leak Theory in Open Letter

Authored by Ryan Morgan via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours)

A group of 43 national security experts published an open letter on Jan. 11 criticizing news organizations and scientific publications that dismissed the possibility that the COVID-19 pandemic might have been the result of a lab leak.

The letter is addressed “To the editors, authors, and contributors to major scientific, medical, and journalistic publications worldwide.” The addressees include The Lancet, Nature Medicine, The New York Times, and TIME magazine.

The letter was coordinated by the Vandenberg Coalition, and included signatures from House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas), former U.S. National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien, Former U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor Matthew Pottinger, and analysts from the Heritage Foundation, the Hudson Institute, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and other security and foreign policy analysts.

“Leading scientific journals censored dissenting voices; many science writers at major news outlets promoted narratives or asserted conclusions unsubstantiated by evidence; reporters failed to make even cursory attempts at surfacing potential conflicts of interest of their sources,” the letter states.

“This served to hamper national and international policy discussions about how to mitigate against future pandemics of any origin—natural, accidental, or deliberate.”

Snapchat Lawsuit Alleges 8 Fentanyl Deaths Across 6 States Resulted From Pills Purchased Through App

A lawsuit filed earlier this month by the Social Media Victims Law Center (SMVLC) alleges that fentanyl-laced pills purchased via Snapchat led to the deaths of eight people between the ages of 15 and 22.

The center filed its lawsuits against the social media app — which allows users to send photos and messages that disappear immediately or over a specified amount of time — in the Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this month.

“The Social Media Victims Law Center will continue to hold Snap, Inc. and its social media product Snapchat legally accountable for the sale of illicit drugs on its site and its features that allow drug dealers to operate without fear of facing justice for their crimes,” Matthew Bergman, founding attorney of SMVLC, said in a statement.

The Insurrection of General Milley

by Daniel Greenfield

“The riots over the summer, you know, I could make a case that those riots were riots organic to an aggrieved community that perceived that they had various injustices throughout their life,” General Mark A Milley told the J6 Committee. “It was sheer, unmitigated anger that expressed itself in the form of mass violence and rioting. And, okay, I get it, it’s illegal, it’s wrong.”

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who had previously justified the study of “white rage”, went on to defend the riots and the double standard at the heart of the J6 Committee.

“I don’t think the intent of those riots was to overturn the United States Government and to destroy the Constitution of the United States of America,” he argued.

The mobs assaulting police officers, burning flags, attacking federal buildings in sieges, like the one in Portland, reminiscent of Fort Sumter, and calling for the destruction of America under the guidance of an organization of “trained Marxists” demonstrated that it was an insurrection.

And Gen. Milley’s testimony showed that he sympathized with the insurrectionists…

Last week, a separate batch of Twitter Files revealed similar requests by Schiff’s office. An example he shared was one sent in November 2020 by Schiff’s office, who contacted Twitter hoping the tech giant would take action regarding “alleged harassment from QAnon conspiracists” against Schiff’s staff, including aide Sean Misko. The latest batch indicates Schiff’s office even fought to have unflattering pictures removed.

Jordan Peterson’s Ottawa Event Directly Opposes NHL’s Diversity and Inclusion Efforts, Experts Say

Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre hosts many events, touting itself as a venue where “The greatest games, the biggest shows, the best times in the nation’s capital happen.” Most notably, the arena serves as home to the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators, with both the team and arena owned by the estate of the late Eugene Melnyk and run by branches of Capital Sports.

While the Senators are the venue’s top billing, a more controversial tenant is set to play to the crowd at the Canadian Tire Centre this month. That person is Jordan B. Peterson.

Huge Rare Earth Metals Discovery in Arctic Sweden

Europe’s largest deposit of rare earths — which are used from mobile phones to missiles — has been found in Sweden.

No rare earths are mined in Europe at the moment and a Swedish minister hailed the find as a way of reducing the EU’s dependence on China.

The discovery is also being seen as “decisive” for the green transition, given the expected rise in demand for electric vehicles and wind turbines.

Some 98% of rare earths used in the EU in 2021 were imported from China.

Over one million tonnes are reported to have now been found in Sweden’s far north.

UK Doctors Have Doubled Antipsychotic Prescriptions to Children and Youth: Study

Authored by Jessie Zhang via The Epoch Times

Despite the lack of evidence of the safety of antipsychotics in children, who are smaller in size and still rapidly developing, the number of prescriptions to English youth has doubled between 2000 to 2019, a study suggests.

The researchers from the University of Manchester examined over seven million children and adolescents aged three to 18.

They discovered that youth prescriptions of antipsychotics — drugs used to treat major mental illnesses, such as autism, schizophrenia, and ADHD — increased from 0.06 percent to 0.11 in the past two decades.

While the percentage is small, co-author and senior research fellow at the University of Manchester Matthias Pierce said that the higher prevalence of these disorders, as well as a growing trend to prescribe antipsychotics by clinicians, is concerning.

Ukraine Rejects Russian Claims Over Control of Soledar, Says Fighting Ongoing

Ukraine has rejected claims by Russia of a rare battleground success after months of setbacks in the eastern Ukrainian town of Soledar, saying intense fighting continues for control of the town.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said in a statement on January 13 that it had captured the strategically important salt-mining town overnight. There have been several conflicting reports over who controls the town in recent days, and the Russian claim could not be independently verified.

Ukraine and Washington have tamped down talk about the importance of Soledar, saying the heavy cost in personnel incurred by Russia was not worth an area now devastated by weeks of fighting and likely not significant enough to swing the war markedly in Moscow’s favor.

“No, this is not true. Severe fighting is still going on in the town,” Serhiy Cherevatiy, a spokesman for the eastern group of the Ukrainian armed forces, said on January 13 in comments to the media outlet RBC-Ukraine, just hours after the Russian ministry’s claim.

War in Ukraine: Five Russian Refugees Stuck in an Airport Terminal in South Korea

The issue of Russian refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine is embarrassing the South Korean government, which has a strict policy of accepting asylum seekers but wants to avoid offending Moscow. The issue has become more acute since the revelations on January 9 by the daily Korea Times that five Russians have been present in the boarding area of Incheon airport, west of Seoul. The five Russian nationals fled their country to avoid being sent to the Ukrainian front. They have been stuck there since their asylum applications were rejected in the fall.

I will never take arms to go and kill innocent people in Ukraine,” says Vladimir Maraktaev, who fled his native region in Buryatia (southern Siberia) on the night of September 24, 2022, a few hours after receiving his mobilization orders.

Former Kentucky Swimmer Leads Protest Against NCAA’s Inclusion of Transgender Athletes

Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines and about two dozen demonstrators outside the NCAA convention Thursday protested the inclusion of transgender athletes in women’s sports and threatened the association with legal action if it doesn’t change its policies.

“Today, we intend to personally tell the NCAA to stop discriminating against female athletes by handing them a petition that we have garnered nearly 10,000 signatures on in just a couple of days,” Gaines said, kicking off more than an hour of speeches that attracted a few onlookers and a handful of quiet counter-protesters.

Who Designed Global Guidelines for Puberty Blockers?

Clinics around the world follow guidelines from the Netherlands for gender treatments in children. The basis for this is, among other things, a much-criticized study sponsored by a German hormone manufacturer.

More and more children and young people believe they have to question their gender identity. Some 60 minors were treated in the Netherlands in 2010, but has increased to around 1 600 last year. Another 1 800 people under the age of 18 were on the waiting list because gender clinics in the country are full.

Institutions around the world use a standard procedure developed in Amsterdam in the 1990s when it comes to the drug treatment of supposedly transsexual children.

A report by the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad has meanwhile cast doubt on the directive and the independence of gender research at the Amsterdam UMC hospital. As strict as the conditions for treatment may appear, several complications have been overlooked: The terrible side effects of the heavy drug has been brushed off by doctors as being the lesser evil.

Tidö parties say no to “electricity billing”

Published 14 January 2023 in Fria Tider

A proposal from the Social Democrats to set up a subsidy fund to help households and businesses pay their electricity bills has been rejected by the Riksdag’s Finance Committee, where the parties behind the Tidö Agreement have a majority.

The chairman of the committee, Edward Riedl (M), believes that it does not make sense to go ahead with the proposal, reports TV4 News.
This after the industry association Energiföretagen gave its views during an extraordinary meeting.

The industry felt that it would not be possible for electricity companies to introduce functioning IT systems and staff to manage an electricity billing office in a short time.
These comments led the committee to reject the proposal.
