The majority of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck, a new study finds, with considerable debt loads driving some of them to gamble in an attempt to earn more money.
The study, commissioned by NY Sports Day, found that “more than half [of Americans] (51%) are living paycheck to paycheck right now,” while 42% of Americans “would not be able to cover an unexpected $1,000 expense.”
The study revealed that “on average, Americans are in the red by about $25,139,” while nearly 10% of U.S. citizens “admitted to trying to get out of debt by playing the lottery.”

15-Year-Old Boy Becomes 2nd Arrest in Shooting of Commanders’ Brian Robinson
A second juvenile has been arrested in connection with the shooting of Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson.
A 15-year-old male, who was 14 at the time of the offense, was arrested Friday and charged with assault with intent to rob while armed, according to a release from the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department.
On Wednesday, a 17-year-old, who was 16 at the time, was arrested and charged with the same offense.
Though the release does not mention Robinson as the victim, Alicia Abelson of WTOP confirmed it was from the same case in the Aug. 28 attack. Robinson was shot twice in the leg and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Coroner: 4 Dead, Including Gunman, in Pennsylvania Shooting
COGAN STATION, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a shooting in central Pennsylvania has ended in the deaths of four people, including the alleged gunman.
Officials in Lycoming County say a female shooting victim was reported Saturday morning in Jordan Township.
State police say arriving troopers found a man “actively firing with a rifle.”
Police say members fired shots and the scene was secured.
Coroner Charles Kiessling Jr. tells The (Williamsport) Sun-Gazette that a man and two women were killed along with the suspected gunman.
No other details about the shooting or the victims were immediately released.

Ex-Trump Adviser Steve Bannon Files Notice of Appeal in Contempt of Congress Conviction, Sentence
Steve Bannon, a one-time adviser to former President Donald Trump, filed formal notice in federal court on Friday that he would appeal his conviction and sentence on two counts of contempt of Congress.
Bannon was found guilty in July on two counts of contempt of Congress for failing to provide documents or testimony to a House of Representatives committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 riots at the US Capitol.
In October a federal judge sentenced the 68-year-old political strategist to four months in prison. The judge, who also fined him $6,500, allowed him to defer serving his sentence while he pursued appeals.

Florida Officials Charge Woman With Felony Fraud for Voting in Two States During Multiple Elections
A Florida woman was arrested Friday after being charged with felony voter fraud for allegedly voting in two states during the same election cycle.
Cheryl Ann Leslie, 55, of Loxahatchee, Florida, was charged with two counts of felony fraud, according to Palm Beach County jail records.
Leslie, who is registered as a Democrat, voted in both the 2020 federal and state primary elections in Florida and Alaska, according to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) news release. Leslie’s Alaska votes were submitted by absentee ballot, and her Florida votes were submitted early and in person in Palm Beach County, officials said.

Major Beef: Man Stabbed During Argument Inside Ruth’s Chris Steak House in NYC
NEW YORK — A man at a New York City steakhouse was stabbed on Friday by another customer who became annoyed by his argument with an employee, authorities said.
According to the New York Police Department, a 24-year-old man got into an argument at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Manhattan with the employee at about 10 p.m., WABC-TV reported.
The customer was complaining about the food service at the restaurant when two women sitting near the man approached and began arguing with him, according to WNBC-TV.
At that point, police said one of the women grabbed a steak knife and stabbed the victim in the chest, WPIX-TV reported.
The man was taken to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, according to the television station. The restaurant employee was not injured, according to WABC.
Both women fled the restaurant after the stabbing, WNBC reported.
According to the television station, police are searching for the women allegedly involved in the attack.

Liberals Give CBC Extra $42 Million in Economic Update

Spain: Climate Activists Glue Themselves to Goya Paintings in Madrid’s Prado Museum

An influential United Kingdom (UK) based social purpose organization that was blamed for the UK government’s use of “grossly unethical tactics to scare public into Covid compliance” is recommending that banks use the “wealth of data that they hold” to provide “carbon feedback” on transactions and introduce social credit-style rewards and incentives to encourage “sustainable behaviours.”

A 21-year-old man has been fatally stabbed and three others are on the run in the latest tragedy on the streets of Lawless London.
Emergency services were called to Bromley Road in Downham about 11.50pm on Friday after the man was set upon.
He was rushed to hospital for treatment but died this afternoon.
Police believe they know the identity of the victim and have informed his family, but are still awaiting formal identification.
Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command said her team have launched a murder investigation.
‘We know there were several people in the Bromley Road area who either witnessed this incident or the events leading up to and after this incident,’ she said.
‘I would urge them, along with any road users in the area who may have captured events on dashcam to come forward and speak to police.’
She said initial investigations have led her team to believe he was attacked by up to three men, who ‘then fled the scene on foot’.
‘A young man’s family is grieving following another senseless loss of life to knife violence; please help them get justice and speak to police if you know anything that could help us.’
No arrests have been made, and police are appealing for assistance.

1. Ukraine plunged into darkness amid Russian shelling
Power cuts across Ukraine were announced on Saturday, following intense Russian strikes on the country’s energy infrastructure.
Ukraine’s state electricity operator, Ukrenergo, said blackouts would happen in Kyiv and seven other neighbouring regions, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Poltava and Kharkiv.
The move comes after Russian forces unleashed a series of crippling attacks on Ukraine, damaging power plants, water supplies and other civilian targets.
Later on Saturday, Ukrenergo said the planned outages for limited periods of time would not be enough and that emergency blackouts, which could last an indefinite amount of time, are needed.

Russia’s ambassador to the United Kingdom has warned that Britain is “too deep” in the Ukraine war, bringing the NATO member “up to the line” of “no return” in terms of a possible conflict with Moscow.

A Congolese migrant with a deportation order from France who has been convicted of rape several times since 2000 has again been arrested for sexual assault, just two months after leaving prison.

Around 100 detained migrants staged what appeared to be an attempted armed insurrection at an immigration centre in London in the early hours of Saturday after a power outage.

Florida Medical Board Outlaws Sex Changes, Puberty Blockers for Transgender-Identifying Minors
The Florida Board of Medicine this week outlawed several medical procedures for minors who claim they are transgender, including puberty blockers and irreversible sex change operations.
The directive, which addresses “standards of practice for the treatment of gender dysphoria in minors,” forbids doctors from performing on minors “sex reassignment surgeries, or any other surgical procedures, that alter primary or secondary sexual characteristics.”
Medical personnel are also forbidden from giving minors “puberty blocking, hormone, and hormone antagonist therapies.”

Greek Soccer Player Gets 10 Months in Prison for Calling Transgenderism ‘Abomination’: Reports
A prominent Greek soccer player has reportedly received 10 months in prison after sharply criticizing child transgender surgery and suggesting that lawmakers should legalize pedophilia as well.
Vasilis Tsiartas “was sentenced by the Single-Member Misdemeanor Court of Athens to ten months in prison” for the remarks, which occurred in 2017. the Greek Reporter said on Saturday.
In Facebook posts that year, Tsiartas expressed wishes that ““the first sex changes are carried out on the children of those who ratified” a pro-transgender law in the Greek parliament. Tsiartas referred to the law as an “abomination.”
“Legitimize pedophiles, too, to complete the crimes,” he added.
