Bank of Canada Governor Says Not Cutting Stimulus Sooner Worsened Inflation

Bank of Canada governor Tiff Macklem told the House of Commons finance committee on Wednesday that the economy would likely be faring better if the Liberal government had clamped down on Covid-19 pandemic stimulus earlier.

While speaking alongside senior deputy governor Carolyn Rogers, Macklem admitted that the central bank should have tightened interest rates and eased off on stimulus policy.

“If we knew everything a year ago that we knew today, yes I think we should have started tightening interest rates sooner to withdraw the stimulus,” said Macklem.

Anti-Lockdown Stanford Professor: “Academic Freedom is Dead”

A Stanford Professor who challenged the orthodoxy of lockdowns has warned that “academic freedom is dead,” and that all those who have stood up to the regime narrative now face “a deeply hostile work environment.”

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, an author of the Great Barrington Declaration in which thousands of scientists called for a policy of herd immunity over lockdowns, warned that “When you take a position that is at odds with the scientific clerisy, your life becomes a living hell.”

Speaking at the Academic Freedom Conference at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business recently, Bhattacharya, who previously described lockdowns as the most catastrophically harmful policy in “all of history,” and “the single worst public health mistake in the last 100 years,” noted “we have a high clerisy that declares from on high what is true and what is not true.”

Association Between Vitamin D Supplementation and COVID-19 Infection and Mortality

Abstract

Vitamin D deficiency has long been associated with reduced immune function that can lead to viral infection. Several studies have shown that Vitamin D deficiency is associated with increases the risk of infection with COVID-19. However, it is unknown if treatment with Vitamin D can reduce the associated risk of COVID-19 infection, which is the focus of this study. In the population of US veterans, we show that Vitamin D2 and D3 fills were associated with reductions in COVID-19 infection of 28% and 20%, respectively [(D3 Hazard Ratio (HR) = 0.80, [95% CI 0.77, 0.83]), D2 HR = 0.72, [95% CI 0.65, 0.79]]. Mortality within 30-days of COVID-19 infection was similarly 33% lower with Vitamin D3 and 25% lower with D2 (D3 HR = 0.67, [95% CI 0.59, 0.75]; D2 HR = 0.75, [95% CI 0.55, 1.04]). We also find that after controlling for vitamin D blood levels, veterans receiving higher dosages of Vitamin D obtained greater benefits from supplementation than veterans receiving lower dosages. Veterans with Vitamin D blood levels between 0 and 19 ng/ml exhibited the largest decrease in COVID-19 infection following supplementation. Black veterans received greater associated COVID-19 risk reductions with supplementation than White veterans. As a safe, widely available, and affordable treatment, Vitamin D may help to reduce the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Biden Vows Gun Control Push During Lame-Duck Session

President Joe Biden on Thursday announced that he would make another attempt to secure passage of an assault weapons ban during the lame duck session of Congress.

“The idea [that] we still allow semi-automatic weapons to be purchased is sick,” Biden said, according to The Hill. “It’s just sick. It has no, no social redeeming value. Zero. None. Not a single, solitary rationale for it except profit for the gun manufacturers.”

Biden has called for a renewed assault weapons ban several times this year, including after the Uvalde school shooting and a separate violent incident in Raleigh.

California Court Rules School Districts Can’t Impose Own COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates

A California appeals court ruled this week that individual school districts cannot impose their own COVID-19 student vaccine mandates.

California’s Chilling Medical Misinformation Law is an Affront to the US Constitution

More confusion and controversy is emerging over the way so-called Covid (mis)information is treated, particularly regarding legislation aimed at “disciplining” medical professionals and making sure they toe some unclear and poorly defined lines, which undermines their right to free speech.

In California, a new law, A.B. 2098, is proving to be so bad in terms of First Amendment-protected speech that it has produced some unusual bedfellows among civil rights groups — all in a bid to get it repealed.

The law’s goal is to give California’s Medical Board powers to include sharing Covid “misinformation” with patients among the transgressions that are considered as unprofessional conduct by doctors.

Cops Probe Link Between Idaho Murders and Similar Oregon Stabbing of Couple in Their Beds Last Year

Idaho police are probing a possible link between the brutal murders of four University of Idaho students and a similar case in Oregon where a husband and wife were stabbed in their beds by a crazed lunatic last year.

Moscow Police Chief James Fyre said they are looking at ‘every avenue’ to discover the mysterious killer who murdered roommates Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, and Xana Kernodle, 20, and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, 20, on November 13.

Police believe the attack was ‘targeted,’ but have declined to give their reasoning behind that notion. Captain Roger Lanier said: ‘You’re going to have to trust us on that at this point because we’re not going to release why we think that.’

Authorities are checking if they can link the four students’ murders to Oregonian Travis Juetten, 26, who was also stabbed to death with a long knife in the middle of the night last year.

Juetten was knifed 29 times by a masked man who broke into his Silverton, Oregon, home at 3am on August 13, 2021.

His wife Jamilyn, 24, was also attacked, but miraculously survived, despite suffering 19 stab wounds — one of which severed a muscle in her hand.

Similarly to the Moscow case — where two other roommates were left unharmed — a friend of the couple, who was staying with them because they had agreed to housesit while the couple took a vacation in Hawaii, was left injured.

In another echo of the University of Idaho murders, the killer was able to slip into the home undetected and took nothing from the property.

DC Man Who Pushed “Justice Reform” Bill Shot Dead on the Day it Passes

Last week in Washington, D.C, the City Council passed a sweeping overhaul to the city’s criminal codes. Touted as yet another example of “justice reform,” the changes reduced or removed bail for most crimes, and lowered or eliminated minimum sentences for many crimes while also lowering some maximum sentences. As we’ve seen in so many other cities, the overarching goal of the legislation was to further empty the jails and put criminals back out on the streets more quickly.

There was a tragic bit of irony taking place even as the measure came up for a final vote, however. One of the people who had been actively lobbying and promoting the “justice reform” measure was Kelvin Blowe, a 32-year-old activist with DC Justice Lab. On the night of the City Council meeting, Blowe was driving some colleagues home from his job as a security guard when he was caught up in an automobile accident. He exited his vehicle for reasons unknown and was promptly shot dead by someone on the street. Police say that no arrests have been made and the case remains under investigation. (FOX 5 DC)

Elon Musk to Publish Twitter’s Internal Discussions on Hunter Biden Laptop to ‘Restore Public Trust’

Elon Musk is planning to publish Twitter internal discussions regarding the company’s decision to block the Hunter Biden laptop story in the run-up to the 2020 election.

Musk says he will publish the messages between Twitter executives, from before he took over the company in October 2022, because it “is necessary to restore public trust.”

By releasing the internal discussions about censoring the New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story, the political motivation behind the move may finally be exposed.

In the final weeks before the election, Twitter locked The New York Post’s account in October 2020 for posting a now-confirmed report of emails contained on Biden’s laptop.

Musk said the more he learns about what was going on at Twitter behind the scenes to censor conservative voices, the worse it gets

Musk said: “This is necessary to restore public trust.”

Epstein Accusers Sue JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank for Enabling Notorious Pedophile

Multiple class action lawsuits filed by Jeffrey Epstein accusers accuses JPMorgan and Deutsche Bank of enabling Jeffrey Epstein to sexually abuse victims by turning a blind eye in order to “churn profits,” Bloomberg reports.

The lawsuits, filed in a New York court, allege the banks had “knowingly benefited and received things of value for assisting, supporting, facilitating, and otherwise providing the most critical service for the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking organization.”

JPMorgan was accused in the suit of “financially benefiting from participating” in the alleged sex trafficking through providing financial support from 1998 to August 2013. Deutsche Bank was accused of knowing that they would “earn million of dollars” from its relationship with Epstein.

Both suits are seeking unspecified damages and ask to be certified as a class action. A Deutsche Bank spokeswoman said the claim “lacks merit” and the bank will present its arguments in court. A spokesman for JPMorgan in London declined to comment. —Bloomberg

Exclusive: Dailymail.Com Reporter Alerts FBI to Walmart Mass Shooter’s ‘Kill List’ — With Name of Murdered Victim and Two Survivors Circled — Dumped Outside His House

Walmart mass shooter Andre Bing dumped a kill list — with the name of one of his six victims circled — outside his home, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

The list, found by DailyMail.com, shows the names of 18 fellow supermarket employees circled — including Tyneka Johnson, 22, who he shot dead in Chesapeake, Virginia, on Tuesday.

He also shot dead Brian Pendleton, Randall Blevins, Lorenzo Gamble and Kellie Pyle. Their names were not seen on the list. A 16-year-old boy, who has not yet been identified, was also killed.

Four people who were shot survived the attack and remain in the hospital. Two of those — Jalon Jones and Jessica Wilczewski — also had their names circled on the list. Among them is Blake Williams, 23, whose family said he was on a ventilator, and clinging to life.

Before carrying out the horrific massacre, Bing, 31, threw his kill list away along with screenshots of surveillance footage dating back to October. The screenshot shows a person dressed in black walking into the the Walmart shortly before midnight.

The list left discarded next to the image included details about what shifts his co-workers were on and in which department they were working, as well as what time they would be on a break.

On Wednesday, the FBI confiscated a manifesto from the $300,000 three-bedroom property — however, they appeared to have missed the evidence hiding in plain sight. Police also revealed that Bing had a manifesto on his phone in which he revealed how he was upset about a change in his employment status.

The manifesto, which has not yet been made public, contained claims that his co-workers at the supercenter were harassing him.

Fired Twitter Moderator Reveals “Worries” Over Platform’s Free Speech Future

Take one look at some of the employees fired from Twitter the past two weeks by Elon Musk and it’s easy to understand why the company operated as a far-left echo chamber for so long. Though company executives claimed that the platform was “politically neutral” for many years, evidence is coming to light which confirms what we already knew — There was a severe leftist bias that permeated every aspect of the social media site which specifically targeted and censored any viewpoints or facts that did not fit with their narrative.

Hilariously, Musk posted on the discovery of a supply closet at Twitter HQ containing activist swag including stacks of t-shirts which have “#StayWoke” printed on them. A neutral company? Not a chance.

Most interesting of all has been the absolute distress and in some cases rage expressed by long time employees over Musk’s free speech position. The level of open authoritarianism on display by the political left in the past few years has been astonishing, if not predictable. The reaction to changes at Twitter solidifies this obsession in crystalline detail. Here, former contracted Twitter employee (a male identifying as a trans female) hired as a “moderator” (censor) tells NBC about his worries when it comes to the company’s future as a free speech based platform.

The Republican firebrand reacted to the lopsided poll results on Twitter, joking, “When Leftist polls go wrong.”

Pittsburgh School District Unanimously Passes Resolution Against Bill Barring Critical Race Theory

The Pittsburgh School District unanimously passed a resolution against legislation that would bar teaching Critical Race Theory or any other concepts that regard one race as superior to another.

The resolution, which passed on Tuesday, states that the board will defy “harmful legislation,” including HB 1532, formally referred to as the Teaching Racial and Universal Equality Act. The bill was proposed by Republican State Rep. Russ Diamond.

The school board’s resolution also covers House bill 2813 as well as Senate bills 1278 and 1277. According to KDKA, CBS News Pittsburgh, Senate bill 1277 “would require schools to allow parents to opt-out of curriculum containing sexually explicit content.” Senate bill 1278 and House bill 2813 would “prohibit classroom instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation up to fifth grade.”

Railway Strike Seen as Increasingly Inevitable, Threatens to Derail Economy Ahead of Holidays

In September, Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh brokered a tentative deal between rail unions and rail carriers while President Joe Biden and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg were out of town. Union concerns centered around sick time and scheduling, and Walsh’s work appeared to have avoided a strike that had the potential for far-reaching consequences on the American economy. However, the deal has fallen to pieces, and the clock is ticking as a December 9 strike looms.

Spielberg Has Become Biden

by Daniel Greenfield

‘The Fabelmans’, Steven Spielberg’s latest movie, is a moving and touching tribute to himself.

The movie exists because Spielberg, like Joe Biden, has stuck around long enough to become an institution. Despite recent bombs like a woke West Side Story remake, Hollywood is willing to subsidize Spielberg much as the Democrats prop up Joe Biden, because he maintains the fiction that the industry represents something more than a cynical power and money grab.

And Spielberg, with Bidenesque levels of bad judgment, decided that what he wanted to do was film a mawkish coming of age story that had been done a million times before. The sensitive boy, drawn to his mother, misunderstood by his father, who pursues his dream of writing novels or making movies until he succeeds enough to be able to tell the story of his own preciousness is a staple of literary and cinematic industries trapped in a narcissistic love affair with themselves.

‘The Fabelmans’ is formally dedicated to Spielberg’s parents, but would make them roll in their graves. But that’s okay. The protagonist of ‘The Fabelmans’ is the young Spielberg who heroically emerges from the trauma of middle-class life to make a movie about his growth as an artist. And the privilege of being the subject is reducing everyone around you to objects.

Germany: Green MP Complains About ‘Cold Bundestag’

Anyone who dares to complain about gas prices, which have increased at least six fold in the last year, is denounced as a traitor in Germany. In reality, many families do not know how they will stay warm since they are no longer able to afford heating.

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia unleashed a new missile onslaught on Ukraine’s battered energy grid Wednesday, robbing cities of power and some of water and public transport, too, compounding the hardship of winter for millions. The aerial mauling of power supplies also took nuclear plants and internet links offline and spilled blackouts into neighbor Moldova.

Multiple regions reported attacks in quick succession and cascading outages. Ukraine’s Energy Ministry said supplies were cut to “the vast majority of electricity consumers.” Lviv’s trams and trolleybuses stopped running as the city in western Ukraine lost both power and water, the mayor said. All of Kyiv lost water, the capital’s mayor said. Power also went out and public transport stopped in Kharkiv, the mayor of that northeastern city, Ukraine’s second largest, said.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Nations to request an urgent Security Council meeting.

A Record 100,000 Illegal Immigrants Have Come to Austria, And Why That’s Now a Big Problem for Romania and Bulgaria

The record-breaking surge in illegal immigration to Austria is having spillover effects that are effectively crushing the hopes of EU member states Bulgaria and Romania of becoming part of the Union’s border-free Schengen area.

During a visit to neighboring Croatia, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer alluded to Bulgaria and Romania’s inability to curtail illegal immigration and register migrants crossing the border as the primary reason for Austria’s decision.

New ‘Plandemic’ Video Peddles Misinformation, Conspiracies
By Saranac Hale Spencer, Jessica McDonald and Angelo Fichera

    Posted on August 21, 2020 | Updated on June 29, 2021

The second part of “Plandemic” — a documentary-style video that presents a sweeping conspiracy theory about the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, patents and vaccines — landed on Aug. 18, spinning together many of the falsehoods about the disease that we’ve been debunking for months, plus some new misleading claims.

The 75-minute video expands on the first installment, which captured widespread attention in early May. At the time, much of the U.S. was under various stay-at-home orders in an effort to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus about two months after the World Health Organization designated COVID-19 a pandemic. The first installment spread a number of false and misleading claims made by Judy Mikovits, a researcher known for her discredited work on chronic fatigue syndrome.

The new video, called “Plandemic: Indoctornation,” offers a more far-reaching conspiratorial take on the pandemic, with an underlying theme that the media can’t be trusted. It suggests without proof that the novel coronavirus was man-made and intentionally released.

The video is heavy on innuendo and features David Martin, a financial analyst and self-help entrepreneur who has a YouTube channel that has pushed some of the same conspiracy theories.

The first installment spread largely on major social media platforms, but many of them — including Facebook and YouTube — removed it for violating policies against harmful misinformation. Filmmaker Mikki Willis — a former model who has claimed on his YouTube channel that the novel coronavirus was “intentionally released” — has capitalized on that fact, telling viewers in a promotional video that it was “the most banned documentary of all time.”

The sequel has been released on two video-hosting websites that bill themselves as being against “censorship,” promising to allow all videos to stay online, regardless of the claims they make. But each site includes a clause in the terms and conditions that allows them to remove content, similar to Facebook and YouTube.

So far, both sites appear to offer only videos uploaded by their creators — Brian Rose, who sells online self-help videos and promotes conspiracy theorists in England, and Ben Swann, an Atlanta-based content creator who is affiliated with the Russia-based, government-funded TV network RT, formerly Russia Today. Swann has made other videos pushing conspiracy theories. […]

Ulla Kokfelt notes in a post on Facebook that between 1999 and 2018, the Danish parliament has granted Danish citizenship to 165,456 foreigners – most from Turkey, Iraq, Somalia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Afghanistan. In other words, people from foreign cultures who will probably never become part of the Danish people because their religion forbids it.

In this context, I remember something I wrote in 2018:

“I often think of something the British historian Geoffrey Barraclough wrote many years ago: when it comes to politics and law, you have to answer for the predictable and logical consequences of what you do or don’t do. This was also a principle established during the Nuremberg trials after the fall of the Third Reich: one cannot escape personal responsibility by referring to criminal laws or orders.”

The politicians now importing enemies of the state in large numbers and the officials managing Denmark’s colonisation know very well – or should know – that they are paving the way for the country’s downfall and the enslavement of the Danes. They have had 30-40 years to work it out, and if Denmark survives there will come a day when they will have to answer for what they have done.

Instead, they will be asked why they brought oppressors and terrorists into the country, and they will be held accountable for all the death and destruction that resulted from their actions.”

Climate communism KILLS human freedom: where are the protests?

    November 23, 2022

Globalists are taking away people’s freedom through their fanatical war on private car ownership. Electric cars are an “impossible equation” and only a small group of people will be able to own them, says Magnus Stenlund in Swebbtv’s news analysis. But why is no one protesting? Where are the pitchforks?” he asks sarcastically. The globalists’ ban on petrol and diesel cars – which Stenlund says is based on communist, Marxist thinking – is the biggest threat to human freedom today.

But now the globalists want to ban petrol and diesel cars. In the EU, new cars of this kind are to be banned as early as 2035, which will have consequences long before then.

Instead, electric cars are the way to go – even though such a complete switch is impossible to achieve. Electric cars require huge amounts of electricity, metals – and are extremely expensive. Ordinary people will not be able to afford to buy them, but at most to rent them.

    – When we say this won’t work, of course they understand. They know it,” says Magnus Stenlund, referring to the globalist group World Economic Forum, “the ones in charge”.

    – When they decide this, it’s not so that we’ll be as well off in the future. It’s ridiculous. They are not thinking of us. They are thinking that a fairly limited group of people should be able to have a car. This is the upper middle class, and then the resources are sufficient.

The rest of us will have to travel by public transport, unless it snows and trains and buses are cancelled.

    – Yes. We’ll have to make do with that. It’s a huge change in our personal freedom that the car has brought. In the 20th century, it has been more crucial to human freedom and emancipation than any other instrument, which is now just being taken away from us – without much discussion. It should be time for pitchforks, you think.

Electric cars are an impossible equation, according to Magnus Stenlund. The resources will not be enough. That is, if you expect the population to be able to own cars in the same way as today. If you seriously believe that this can be achieved, you are completely wrong.

    – It is a misconception based on Marxist, communist and general socialist principles, which believe that everything can be achieved by sacrificing various things,” he says, pointing out that, on the contrary, it is only more prosperity that could increase the number of electric cars.

    – But they don’t want to make us richer, they want to make us poorer.

According to Stenlund, there is a lot of “left-wing ideology” in the globalist perspective.

In the past, psychology professor Jordan Peterson has also taken issue with the globalists’ attempts to stop private ownership of cars, under the pretext that cars threaten the “climate”.

    – Keep your [vulgar intensifier] hands off my car, he has made clear in an interview.

That’s the limit for Peterson. Globalists are attacking people’s car ownership because cars “stand for radical autonomy and privacy”, says the world-renowned professor.
