Czechia’s Frightening Increase in Food Prices

Czechia may produce much of its own food, but that has not stopped the country from seeing a dramatic increase in food prices. On top of the usual suspects such as rising energy prices, part of the problem for Czechs is that a substantial amount of that domestically produced food is exported abroad.

Food prices rose by more than a quarter in the Czech Republic in October. This was not only due to soaring energy prices but also partly because Czech stores copy prices in Germany, which has also seen an explosive growth in food prices this year.

Federal Prosecutors Had FTX on Their Radar Months Before Collapse: Report

Federal prosecutors from Manhattan investigated for months the now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX in connection with a 1970 law designed to prevent money laundering, but it is unclear whether the investigation concluded prior to the firm’s recent collapse amid a liquidity crisis, according to Bloomberg Monday, citing anonymous sources.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York was particularly concerned with whether FTX was in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, which is designed to limit the ability of terrorists and money launderers to use the U.S. financial system, according to Bloomberg. Reports that former CEO and major Democratic donor Sam Bankman-Fried had loaned billions of dollars of customers’ assets from FTX to his other company, trading house Alameda Research, prompted prosecutors to shift the focus of their investigation, Bloomberg reported.

Lawsuits, Legislators Hope to Alter Illinois’ No-Cash Bail Law Taking Effect Jan. 1

With Illinois state lawmakers set to return to Springfield after Thanksgiving for one more week of session before the new year, questions remain on what will change with the Pretrial Fairness Act set to eliminate cash bail statewide on Jan. 1.

The Safety, Accountability, Fairness, and Equity Today, or SAFE-T, Act, was approved by the previous General Assembly in early January 2021. It makes several changes to the criminal justice system, including eliminating cash bail for certain offenses statewide with the Pretrial Fairness Act, making it the first state to do so.

The measure faces a consolidated lawsuit from dozens of states’ attorneys and sheriffs and, since its passing, has led to debate between lawmakers about what is a detainable offense. The debate heated up heading into the Nov. 8 elections.

Voters Aren’t Choosing Dems, Dems Are Choosing Voters

by Daniel Greenfield

To understand how we got here, we need to begin with the founding premise of America, the one that motivated former British subjects to take up arms against a king, that the people had the right to choose their governments.

Now the divine right of kings has given way to the radical right of leftists to take power from the people in the name of the people. Unable to directly coerce voters, they instead exploited loopholes and weaknesses in the system to reinvent who the people were.

Democrats began by choosing a new electorate, one that was strategically defined by Senator Ted Kennedy and others as being more demographically friendly to its political machines. Into the urban political machines that had begun to lose their old immigrant bases as the Irish, Italian and Jewish immigrants that had sustained them moved on to the suburbs, mass migration poured in a new electorate that would be more pliable and obedient to the party.

The combination of open borders and third world mass migration reshaped the political landscape. Cities, always prominent, became the 800-pound gorillas of politics, turning entire states in their direction. The nation’s demographics changed as rapidly as its politics did.

But that was only the first step. The second step, now well underway, was reshaping the structure of elections to allow Democrats to find the voters, instead of the voters finding them…

Both spouses must have held Italian citizenship for at least ten years, and the wedding must take place in Italy.

Ghaziani, 52, on Sunday posted a video to her Instagram where she stands on a public sidewalk without a headscarf — which is required for women in Iran. She then faces the camera before turning around to put her hair up into a ponytail.

Ukraine Says Will Look Into Alleged Prisoner Shooting Video

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine says it will investigate video footage circulated on Russian social media which Moscow alleged shows that Ukrainian forces killed Russian troops who may have been trying to surrender, after one of the men seemingly refused to lay down his weapon and opened fire.

“Of course Ukrainian authorities will investigate this video,” Olha Stefanishyna, Ukraine’s deputy prime minister overseeing the country’s push to join the European Union, said on the sidelines of a security forum in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Stefanishyna, speaking late Saturday, said “it is very unlikely” that the short, edited snippets show what Moscow claims.

Russian authorities announced the opening Friday of a criminal investigation based on the snippets posted on Russian Telegram channels and relayed on other social media. They present a muddled and incomplete picture.

Hindu Lives Matter: Save Minorities in Pakistan and Bangladesh From Islamic Persecution

The persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh, Pakistan: No country to live, only a place to die.

Vicky Nanjappa | One India Web Desk | New Delhi | Nov 19:: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday raised the issue of attacks on Hindus and temples in Bangladesh. He raised the issue with his Bangladesh counterpart Asaduzzaman Khan on the sidelines of the ‘No Money for Terror’ Ministerial that is being held in Delhi.

The concerns were raised at a time when a very disturbing incident of a Hindu girl being beheaded in Bangladesh was reported. Kavita Rani was killed and beheaded by one Abu Bakr.

The number of incidents concerning the persecution of Hindus has been high in countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Hindus have been living like second rate citizens in these countries. Temples have been destroyed, women raped, men converted and killed.

It was in this context that the Narendra Modi government introduced the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) so that these persecuted minorities in the Islamic nations can have a home in India which they can call their own.

The Bangladesh scenario:

In Bangladesh, the Hindus continue to face discrimination and are vulnerable due to rising extremism and violence. The very famous Sonargaon Temple in the Narayanganj district was destroyed by radical Islamists on 6 February 2010. A 2017 report had said during that year 107 Hindus were killed while 31 were victims of enforced disappearance. Further 782 Hindus had been forced to leave the country. 25 Hindu women were raped while 235 temples have been vandalised. In all, there were at least 6,437 atrocities that had been committed against the Hindus.

It is worse in Pakistan:

In 2013, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan had said that 1,000 Hindu families of India had fled to India. In the year 2014, Ramesh Kumar, a member of the PML-N said that 5,000 Hindus are migrating to India every year. This is owing to the fear of being persecuted. The Hindu women are targeted the most and every month at least 25 of them are being converted to Islam, raped and then married off. In the year 2010, 60 members of the Hindu community in Karachi were attacked and evicted from their homes. The reason was that a Hindu was drinking water from a tap near a mosque. According to a 2010 report of the Pakistan Human Rights Council, every month 25 Hindu girls are raped and converted. Many Hindus have voluntarily converted to Islam to get the National Identification Card. The Madrasa Baitul Islam pays the debts of Hindus on the condition that they convert to Islam. On the other hand, data shows that the Dean Mohammad Shaikh Mission has converted 108,000 to Islam.

97 vs 3:

The fanatics are having a field day persecuting the minority community in Pakistan, thanks to the blasphemy laws. The law says that it is an offence to insult Prophet Mohammad, the Quran and religious personalities. Experts OneIndia spoke with say that it was this law passed under former former president Zia-ul-Haq led to the complete Islamisation of the Pakistan police. The law was in fact passed to protect the Muslims against the minorities. The Muslims constitute 97 per cent of the population while the minorities 3 per cent. Pakistani-American human rights activist Fatima Gul had told a Congressional hearing on human rights in South Asia that Pakistan is the most dangerous country for women and religious persecution remains one of the most salient features.

She found the reason, how this is even possible: she obtained Department of

    Macron wants ‘one’ global order
    21 November, 2022

Emmanuel Macron. Photo: France Diplomatie – MEAE

The world needs to be governed by a single world order. So says French President Emmanuel Macron in a speech, in response to rising tensions between the US and China in the Pacific.

It was during the APEC meeting in Thailand, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting, that French President Emmanuel Macron compared the world to a jungle.

In this jungle there are two elephants, according to Macron: the US and China, who are becoming increasingly nervous. And that could cause problems.
    – We are in a jungle and we have two big elephants that are trying to get more and more nervous.
    – If they get very nervous and start fighting, it will be a big problem for the rest of the jungle. You need to cooperate with many other animals: tigers, monkeys and so on.

Emmanuel Macron claims that he wants “stability” in the Pacific, and that this is the kind of stabilising role that France wants to play in the region.
    – Are you on the side of the US or China? Because now many people want there to be two orders in the world. This is a big mistake,” he points out.
    – Both for the US and China. We need a single global order.

“If you still think it’s a conspiracy theory that our elites want one world order, here’s French President Emmanuel Macron at the APEC summit: ‘We need a single global order’,” writes legal philosopher Eva Vlaardingerbroek on Twitter about his statement.
