Diesel Hits Record Premium Over Gas, Oil

Dwindling stockpiles of diesel have driven prices to a record premium over gasoline and crude oil, showing how war, weather and other disruptions to globalized energy markets are still producing price shocks and potential shortages.

While the price of gasoline is up about 14% this year, diesel has climbed about 50%, to $5.35 a gallon, according to AAA/Opis. The gains widened the gap between the two to an all-time high of $1.61. A year ago, it was 23 cents. Wholesale diesel, delivered into New York harbor, traded at a record premium to crude oil in October, according to the Energy Information Administration, which also reported the country had only 25 days of diesel in reserve, the lowest since 2008.

Energy Rationing and Shortages Likely in France, Admits Electric Grid Chief

The head of the national electricity grid in France has warned that power cuts are still likely during the winter despite a decline in consumption driven by decreased manufacturing production.

This week, Xavier Piechaczyk, the president of the Reseau Transport d’Electricite (RTE), said that as a result of continued issues with the French nuclear power system, the country remains in a need of “particular vigilance” ahead of the winter months, warning that even if Europe experiences a normal winter, power cuts are likely.

FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried Hit With Class-Action Lawsuit That Also Names Brady, Bündchen, Shaq, Curry

The founder of the now-collapsed crypto trading company FTX has been hit with a class action lawsuit by investors alleging he and other high-profile celebrities — such as legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady and NBA star Stephen Curry — violated Florida law and made consumers suffer more than $11 billion in damages.

The 41-page document filed on behalf of Oklahoma resident Edwin Garrison in the U.S. District Court’s Southern District of Florida comes as FTX, led by crypto billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried, filed for bankruptcy last week.

The lawsuit, which names “Sam Bankman-Fried, Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen, Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors, Shaquille O’Neal, Udonis Haslem, David Ortiz, William Trevor Lawrence, Shohei Ohtani, Naomi Osaka, Lawrence Gene David, and Kevin O’Leary,” seeks to make them “responsible for the many billions of dollars in damages they caused Plaintiff and the Classes and to force Defendants to make them whole.”

FTX Founder Sam Bankman-Fried Funneled Max Donation to Nancy Pelosi’s Likely Successor

FTX founder and CEO Sam Bankman-Fried donated the maximum amount an individual can give to a candidate to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s, D-Calif., likely successor.

Bankman-Fried made a contribution worth $5,800 to Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., in July 2021, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) data. While the amount was relatively tiny compared to the roughly $38 million the crypto entrepreneur funneled to candidates and political action committees (PAC) ahead of the midterm elections, it represented the maximum contribution an individual is allowed to donate to a single candidate under federal campaign finance laws.

The 30-year-old, who may be extradited to the US from The Bahamas to be questioned following the loss of up to $2 billion of customer’s money, donated approximately $38 million to various candidates and PACs from 2021-2022, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings.

Germany Preparing for Emergency Cash Deliveries, Bank Runs and “Aggressive Discontent” Ahead of Winter Power Cuts

While Europe has been keeping a generally optimistic facade ahead of the coming cold winter, signaling that it has more than enough gas in storage to make up for loss of Russian supply even in a “coldest-case” scenario, behind the scenes Europe’s largest economy is quietly preparing for a worst case scenario which include angry mobs and bankruns should blackouts prevent the population from accessing cash.

As Reuters reports citing four sources, German authorities have stepped up preparations for emergency cash deliveries in case of a blackout (or rather blackouts) to keep the economy running, as the nation braces for possible power cuts arising from the war in Ukraine. The plans include the Bundesbank hoarding extra billions to cope with a surge in demand, as well as “possible limits on withdrawals”, one of the people said. And if you think crypto investors are angry when they can’t access their digital tokens in a bankrupt exchange, just wait until you see a German whose cash has just been locked out.

German Meat Industry Warns of Empty Supermarket Shelves, Another 40% Jump in Meat Prices

The German meat industry has warned of impending supply bottlenecks, especially concerning pork, and a board member is putting at least some of the blame on Germany’s current left-wing government, which is well-known for its attacks on meat and efforts to transition to a plant-based food supply.

“In four, five, six months, we will have nothing on the shelves,” predicts Hubert Kelliger, head of group sales at the large butcher Westfleisch and also a member of the board of the Meat Industry Association (VDF), according to Die Welt.

One of the main factors affecting Germany’s meat supply, according to Kelliger, is the reduction of fattening pigs from livestock farmers. Others farmers have simply given up on production and are going bankrupt.

Caroline Ellison, who served as CEO of Bankman-Fried’s crypto trading house Alameda Research, has been under intense scrutiny along with her former lover when their companies crashed and filed for bankruptcy last week.

Alameda was allegedly transferred $10billion of FTX customer money in secret by Bankman-Fried as investors withdrew $6billion from the crypto platform last week. The rush came just hours after rival Binance refused to bail out the competitor.

New York Fed Plots Test of Centrally Controlled Digital Dollar

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Innovation Center (NYIC) announced that it plans to launch a 12-week proof-of-concept pilot for a central bank digital currency (CBDC).

It will also test the “technical feasibility, legal viability, and business applicability” of distributed ledgers, as well as simulated tokens. Regulatory frameworks will also be explored. There is a possibility of extending the project to “multi-currency operations and regulated stablecoins.”

UK Inflation Hits 41-Year High

British consumer prices saw a surge of 11.1% in October, smashing a 41-year high and exceeding analysts’ projections as the nation continued to struggle with soaring food, transport and energy costs.

The figures, revealed by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on Wednesday, mark an increase from the 40-year high of 10.1% recorded in September and top the 10.7% forecast by economists polled earlier by Reuters.

The annual increase in the consumer price index (CPI) is attributed to surging prices for electricity, gas and other fuels despite the Energy Price Guarantee program introduced by UK authorities on October 1.

21 LASD Sheriff’s Recruits Injured After Being Struck by Car During Morning Run in Whittier

Seven of the recruits have been reported to be in critical condition

WHITTIER, Calif. (KABC) — A total of 21 Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department recruits were injured after they were struck by a vehicle during an early morning run on Wednesday, authorities confirmed.

Chad Sourbeer, a battalion chief with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, spoke with Eyewitness News and said seven of those recruits are currently in critical condition, four are being treated for “immediate” injuries and 10 have minor injuries.

The incident happened in the South Whittier area near Mills Avenue and Trumball Street at around 6:29 a.m. The group of recruits running appeared to be between 40 and 50 recruits running in a pack.

First responders were seen treating the recruits in the middle of the street and loading several others into ambulances.

It’s unclear if the driver involved has been apprehended. Meanwhile, the vehicle was left mangled on a sidewalk with heavy damage to its front end.

Mayorkas Defends DHS Efforts to Address Online “Disinformation”

In a hearing this week, Rep. Dan Bishop, R-N.C., asked the Homeland Security chief Alejandro Mayorkas about the recently published documents that alleged the Department of Homeland Security coordinated with social media companies to censor Americans.

Bishop honed in on one part of the document release that suggested the DHS flagged to Twitter an account it said had “imperiled election integrity,” even though it only had fewer than 60 followers.

Bishop asked: “Secretary Mayorkas, does the level of interaction with social media platforms, and that one specifically, that anecdote, suggest that DHS has engaged in egregious overreach that threatens the First Amendment?”

Mayorkas said that the overstepping of the DHS related to Twitter happened before the Biden administration took office.

NASA’s Huge SLS Rocket Finally Launches the Artemis 1 Moon Mission

AFTER YEARS OF delays and several false starts, the wait is finally over: NASA’s massive Space Launch System rocket and the Orion capsule lifted off at 1:48 am Eastern time, heading for a historic lunar flyby. Crowds of onlookers watched at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where the thunder of a NASA rocket could once again be heard at the launchpad where shuttles and the Apollo missions began their journeys into space.

The 212-foot rocket, including an orange core stage and two white solid rocket boosters, had rested upon a ground structure called the mobile launcher, as it had during earlier tests. As the boosters ignited, the rocket lifted above an explosion of flames, and then it quickly cleared the launch tower and began its ascent through the atmosphere, an ombre orange streak blazing behind it. “Liftoff for Artemis 1,” proclaimed Derrol Nail, NASA’s livestream commentator. “We rise together, back to the moon and beyond.”

Sheriffs Refuse to Enforce Democrat-Controlled State’s New Gun Law

Authored by Jack Phillips via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours)

Several sheriffs in Oregon said they will not enforce the state’s new gun law that places a limit on magazine capacity, arguing that the provision violates the Constitution’s Second Amendment.

Oregon voters approved Measure 114, also known as the Reduction of Gun Violence Act, during the Nov. 8 midterm elections. The rule, among other restrictions, outlaws magazines that hold more than 10 rounds—similar to rules that have been implemented in New York, California, and other Democrat-controlled states.

Several county sheriffs have publicly announced they won’t enforce the law or parts of the law.

Stabbing Spree at Los Angeles CA Target Ends in Shooting

A man who armed himself with a butcher knife for sale stabbed a 9-year-old boy and another shopper at a Target store in downtown Los Angeles, California police reported.

A store security guard shot and killed the man at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the store near Figueroa and 7th Streets, Chief Michel Moore said at a news briefing, as shared by ABC7 on YouTube.

“It’s a troubling night with Los Angeles here — to see this type of violence in our city,” Moore said.

After picking up the knife, the 40-year-old man told a 9-year-old boy “he was going to stab him and kill him,” Moore said. The boy, who had become separated from his mother in the store, tried to walk away.

The man “without any further provocation” stabbed the child from behind, Moore said. Other shoppers came to his aid while the attacker moved away.

“I saw the kid who was stabbed stumble his way towards me,” Target employee Justin Orkin told KNBC. “As he was doing that, the guy was running the other way, running away.”

The man encountered two shoppers in an aisle and “brutally” stabbed a 25-year-old woman in the chest, Moore said. Others pulled the injured woman into a pharmacy and closed the gate.

“You can imagine the mayhem that was going on,” Moore said. Another woman was trampled by shoppers fleeing the store.

The man moved to the front of the store, where an armed security guard confronted him, Moore said. The guard shot him in the stomach.

Los Angeles police already in the shopping center on another call responded to the Target and took the man into custody, but he later died.

Moore described the knife as being 9 to 10 inches long, “kind of a butcher knife.”

The 9-year-old and 25-year-old stabbed in the attack were listed in critical condition, the Los Angeles Times reported.

UC Berkeley Calls Cops on Protest Against “Jewish Free Zones”

by Daniel Greenfield

During the Black Lives Matter riots, UC Berkeley Chancellor Carol Christ endorsed police defunding. “Elements of our country’s law enforcement culture dehumanize some of the very people whose safety and wellness police officers are sworn to protect,” she falsely claimed.

Two weeks ago, UC Berkeley called the police on a conservative truck protesting campus antisemitism and the “Jewish Free Zones” erected by elements of its law school.

Berkeley Law School Dean Erwin Chemerinsky had claimed that the university couldn’t take any action against the “Jewish Free Zones” enacted by student organizations even as he admitted that they would bar 90% of Jewish speakers. “That is their First Amendment right. I find their statement offensive, but they have the right to say it. To punish these student groups, or students, for their speech would clearly violate the Constitution,” he argued.

That was in early October.

In late October, Chemerinsky responded to a truck rented by a conservative group protesting the “Jewish Free Zone” by threatening that, “we’re exploring whether there’s any action that can be taken against the Accuracy in Media for the truck.”

According to Chemerinsky and Berkeley, banning Jews is free speech, protesting the ban isn’t…

Welcome to Twitter 2.0: ‘Extremely Hardcore’

Thank goodness he wasn’t talking about the content.

Tech writer Gergely Orosz got the scoop at zero-dark-thirty this morning. According to his leaker, Musk’s email demanded that employees must “click ‘yes’ to confirm being part of this by 5pm ET tomorrow, else they get 3 months severance.”

That’s roughly eight hours from now, so for some unknown number of Twitter 2.0 workers who might not be willing to devote the “long hours at high intensity” Musk requires, the clock is ticking.

Witness Claims U.Va. Suspect Shot Victim While He Was Sleeping, Shooting Not Random

ALBERMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The shooting at the University of Virginia on Sunday night was not random, according to a witness account in court on Wednesday morning.

The suspect was scheduled for a bond hearing at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Albemarle Commonwealth’s Attorney Office. Jones appeared emotionless as his charges were read to him via video link.

According to the Commonwealth’s Attorney, a witness told authorities that the suspected gunman shot Devin Chandler in his sleep. The witness said that they saw the suspect point the gun at Chandler while he was sleeping.

Chandler — along with Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry — was killed in the shooting. Marlee Morgan and Michael Hollins were wounded in the shooting.

The witness also said the suspect was targeting certain people and that the gunfire was not random.

Day 24 Recap of Emergencies Act Hearings

StatsCan data shows blockades didn’t hurt Canadian trade

On day 24 of the Emergencies Act hearings, internal Statistics Canada documents released revealed that border blockades “had little impact” on Canadian trade in the month February.

The document, which was produced in April by Statistics Canada, suggests that despite the blockades at the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, Ontario, Coutts, Alberta, Emerson, Manitoba, and the Pacific Highway in British Columbia, the impact to Canada’s trade imports and exports was minimal.

The document reads: “Overall, the blocked border crossings appear to have had little impact on the aggregate values of Canadian imports and exports.”

Germany: AfD’s Weidel Outperforms Top ‘Mainstream’ Politicians

It is a small sensation that should ring all the alarm bells among the established players. According to a recent survey by the Wahlkreisprognose platform, AfD federal spokeswoman Alice Weidel is now the favorite for the job of chancellor in central Germany — ahead of incumbent Scholz (SPD).

An impressive 29 percent would currently like Weidel to be chancellor. Scholz only gets 23 percent, and CDU leader Merz ended up at 12 percent.

Notably the poll results of the top AfD woman are also impressive in the western part of the country. There Weidel is in third place behind Scholz and Merz, but has surpassed both Green “stars” Annalena Baerbock and Robert Habeck.

Weidel’s popularity is all the more remarkable when one considers the media’s continued propaganda campaign against the AfD and its party leadership.

German State Television Likens Musk to Nazi Propaganda Minister Goebbels

The journalists behind ZDF are warning that facts and opinions they don’t agree with could be freely expressed on the platform, according to German newspaper Junge Freiheit.

One Million Cancer Diagnoses Likely Missed in Europe Because of COVID Pandemic

Europe faces a “cancer epidemic” unless urgent action is taken to boost treatment and research, after an estimated 1m diagnoses were missed during the pandemic and which could retard cancer outcomes by almost a decade if not addressed, say experts.

Leading specialists say COVID-19’s impact and the focus on it has exposed “weaknesses” in cancer health systems and research landscape across the continent, reports The Guardian.

A recent report, European Groundshot — Addressing Europe’s Cancer Research Challenges: a Lancet Oncology Commission, brought together a wide range of patient, scientific and healthcare experts with detailed knowledge of cancer across Europe.

They said one unintended consequence of the pandemic was the adverse effects that the rapid repurposing of health services and national lockdowns, and their continuing legacy, have had on cancer services, on cancer research and on patients with cancer.

Spanish police will soon be allowed to use an automatic facial recognition tool, dubbed ABIS (automatic biometric identification system). ABIS uses artificial intelligence to identify suspects from a database that is currently under development.

ABIS uses an algorithm called Cogent, which is developed by the French military technology company Thales. The program compares images introduced by the police, like an image obtained from a security camera, to images stored in a database, which will contain over five million images of suspects and detainees already on file. Those arrested after the system is launched will be added to the database.

No Indication Blast in Poland Was a Deliberate Attack, Says NATO Chief

There is no indication that a projectile which landed in a Polish village was a deliberate attack, NATO’s chief stated on Wednesday, as ambassadors from the organisation met in an emergency session to discuss the nature of the incident.

The missile hit Przewodow in close proximity to the Ukrainian border on Tuesday, killing two people.

The investigation is continuing. Current findings, supported by Western leaders, point to the missile having been fired by Ukrainian forces.

Such reports have alleviated global fears that the missile incident may have been a part of a Russian attack, which could have triggered a significant escalation and spillover of the conflict into NATO territory.

Ukraine, nevertheless, wants access to the blast site as it maintains it has proof of a “Russian trace”.

The explosion happened amidst an escalation in Russia’s offensive as the country unleashed an avalanche of missiles on Ukraine, targeting Kyiv’s residential areas and energy infrastructure.

Ukraine War: Power Restored in Kyiv; Fuel Depot Hit and Russian Oil ‘Reaching EU Through Backdoor’

1. Drone strike reported on Russian fuel depot near Ukrainian border

Local Russian officials have reported that a fuel depot in a southern border region exploded on Wednesday morning.

The blast allegedly occurred in Orel province, around 200 kilometres from the Ukrainian frontier. No casualties have been reported.

The suspected drone attack comes after dozens of missile strikes at several cities in Ukraine on Tuesday.

Since the start of the war, several fuel and ammunition depots in southern Russia have been targeted by drones or helicopters. In October, the regional capital of Belgorod suffered power outages after an oil depot and power plant were shelled.

Orel province would be the furthest region from the Ukrainian border to be hit since February. Russian authorities have blamed the Ukrainian military for the strike.

    Birth rates collaps

The German Federal Institute for Population Research reports a collapse in total fertility and
and birth rates 9 months after Corona vaccination start.
    Germany and Sweden.

    A commentary by Jens Bernert.
    Translated from German by LN.

Note on the article: This text first appeared in “Rubikon – Magazin für die kritische Masse”, whose advisory board includes Daniele Ganser and Hans-Joachim Maaz. Since it was published under a free license (Creative Commons), apolut adopts this text in secondary use and explicitly points out that Rubikon also depends on donations and needs support. We need many alternative media!

    1
A sharp drop of 15 percent in the birth rate in Germany in connection with the “Corona vaccinations” is reported by the German Federal Institute for Population Research (1 to 4). The seasonally adjusted monthly total fertility rate (TFR) declined by 14 percent. The Federal Institute points out that the dramatic crash in the two rates, calculated on the basis of births, began nine months – the length of a pregnancy – after the campaign to vaccinate the fertile cohorts began. The study rules out reasons for the decline other than the vaccination campaign.
    2
The English-language study, with the translated title “Fertility Declines Toward the End of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Evidence for Birth Declines in Germany and Sweden in 2022,” can be found on the website of the German Federal Institute for Population Research, where it can also be downloaded as a PDF file (5). The study authors use statistical methods to examine the development of birth and
    3
fertility rates in Germany and Sweden.
The birth rate or “seasonally adjusted monthly total fertility rate” refers to all women, including unvaccinated women. This means that the decline in these two rates in relation only to the vaccinated is realistically likely to be much more dramatic. Since the evaluation is based on live births, miscarriages, abortions of damaged fetuses, etc., naturally also play a role here.
    4
The introductory abstract to the study states:
“We rely on monthly birth statistics and present seasonally adjusted monthly total fertility rates (TFR) for Germany and Sweden. We relate nine-month lagged fertility rates to contextual trends in COVID-19 mortality and morbidity, unemployment rates, and COVID-19 vaccination. The seasonally adjusted monthly TFR in Germany fell from 1.5-1.6 in 2021 to 1.3-1.4 in 2022, a decline of about 14 percent. In Sweden, the corresponding TFR fell from about 1.7 in 2021 to 1.5-1.6 in 2022, a decline of almost 10 percent. There is no relationship between fertility trends and changes in unemployment, infection rates, or COVID-19 deaths. However, there is a strong association between the start of vaccination programs and the decline in fertility nine months after the start of these programs.”
    5
The Federal Institute study states that the decline in fertility rates did not occur for other reasons under discussion. Consequently, it states:
“In contrast, there is a clear association between the start of the vaccination programs and the decline in fertility that occurred nine months later. In both Germany and Sweden, vaccination campaigns peaked with mass enrollments for primary vaccination in April, May, and June 2021, followed by a wave of secondary vaccinations that peaked between May and August of the same year (two vaccinations were considered fully vaccinated). The implementation of these programs in both Germany and Sweden coincides with a marked change in fertility rates exactly nine months later. Fertility rates remained at lower levels throughout the first half of 2022.”
    6
Finally, the study discusses the results. It then states, for example:
“Other known explanations for the change in fertility over the course of the pandemic, such as the effects of health-related and economic factors, do not appear to be associated with the timing of the fertility decline in 2022.”
    7
For those wondering at this point why such a study, from which one would actually have to draw a connection between the “Corona vaccines” and plummeting fertility rates, was allowed to be conducted at all in this day and age, the answer is provided in the next, speculative section explaining the hard scientific facts established:
“On the basis of the descriptive associations presented in this study, we interpret the post-pandemic change in childbearing behavior as a response to the changed circumstances that were anticipated as societies opened up to pandemic-free conditions. In some cases, there may have been a more direct impact of the vaccination program per se, as some prospective parents may have postponed their decision to have another child until they had vaccinated themselves.”
    8
This speculation, apparently made along the lines of “that which cannot be, is also found in the study’s introductory abstract.” An attempt is made to “somehow” squeeze the existing scientific evidence regarding the collapse in fertility rates nine months after the start of the vaccination campaign into the official grid of the Corona saga, without even mentioning the “vaccines” as a reason at this point. This was probably urgently needed in order for the Federal Institute’s study to be published at all, even if only in English.
    9
Unfortunately, it must be expected that politicians and the media will ignore the Federal Institute’s study as largely as they have ignored the latest data from the Federal Statistical Office on greatly increased death rates in Germany, which show a temporal connection with the Corona vaccination campaign (6).

  2. “In the meantime, Schwab continues to pontificate on the virtues of the “Great Reset” and the usefulness of crisis as a means to accomplish a “restructuring” of the current world order.”

Time the WEF and its leadership were held to account for their outrageous utterances and activities.

  3. One of the most telling reports from Scotland imo, was the revelation that Police Scotland, (on orders from above one wonders?), kept secret, news of rape gangs composed of men, many of whom were supposedly seeking asylum in Scotland, committing horrendous crimes against Scottish children.
It seems only a handful of rapists identified were imprisoned and these crimes were only reported years after the fact.
(D.Greenfield reports only 4 out of 71 went to prison, 71 is in itself most likely but the mere tip of a reprehensible iceberg, after all these men force school-age children into prostitution).
So much for a ‘feminist government’, as it seems anonyminity for foreign rapists is of more concern than the safety of Scottish children under the SNP.
It appears that projection onto and fear of possible racist reactions from Scots (that haven’t happened now these crimes have been made public), trump reality and the ACTUAL physical crimes of paedophiliac non-Scottish rapists, (apparently it’s not racist if the victims are white).

Not only does it suggest how little Police Scotland and other powers that be think of indigenous Scots and how biased the justice system is becoming (across the UK) – (a type of intersectional Top Trumps) but also example of the fetishisation of the ‘other’ – arguably an opposite extreme to racist behaviours i.e. covering up horrendous crimes merely because of the identity of the perpetrators.

A feminist being thrown out a debate for wearing colours associated with the Suffragettes, while trans colours remain is but par for the ‘progresssive’ course.
Oh and even non-Scottish children being sold for sex on the steets of Glasgow? it’s not happening, especially if allegedly in Nicola Sturgeon’s constituency.
