Eurozone Heading to a Recession at the End of This Year, Brussels Says

The eurozone and most EU countries will head to an economic recession in the last quarter of 2022, according to the European Commission’s autumn economic forecast.

“The economic situation has deteriorated markedly and we are heading into two quarters of contraction,” said EU economy commissioner Paolo Gentiloni at a press conference.

The EU’s executive revised up its inflation forecast from July, predicting that prices would peak at year-end and remain high in 2023. Inflation will average 9.3% in the EU and 8.5% in the eurozone for 2022, Brussels said.

German Food and Energy Prices Push Inflation to New Highs in October

In Germany, rising food and energy prices catapulted inflation to a new high in October, Welt reported. Inflation last month was 10.4 percent compared to the same month last year, as the Federal Statistical Office announced on Friday, thereby confirming an initial estimate from the end of October. Excluding food and energy, inflation would have been just 5 percent.

Energy prices rose by 43 percent due to the global increase in purchase prices, with the price of natural gas more than doubling, up 109.8 percent. District heating became more expensive by 35.6 percent. The prices of firewood, wood pellets, and other fuels increased by 108.1 percent, statisticians said. Heating oil was 82.8 percent higher than in the same month last year, electricity was 26.0 percent more expensive, and gasoline cost 22.3 percent more.

The statisticians also observed price increases in all food groups: Edible fats and oils (up 49.7 percent), dairy products and eggs (28.9 percent), vegetables (23.1 percent), and bread and cereal products (19.8 percent) were particularly expensive. Overall, food prices increased by 20.3 percent.

Inflation Slowdown? Not in Some Cities, Where Consumer Prices Still Top 12%

Inflation is finally beginning to show signs of slowing down in the U.S., but any financial relief that Americans may have felt hinged on where they lived.

The Labor Department reported on Thursday that the consumer price index, a broad measure of the price for everyday goods including gasoline, groceries and rents, rose 7.7% in October from a year ago, the slowest pace since January.

But in some parts of the country, the pace of inflation was much higher.

Inside the Collapse of Crypto Exchange FTX: Everything You Need to Know

In the span of just one week, FTX went from being the world’s third-largest cryptocurrency exchange to filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Delaware.

The sudden and rapid downfall of FTX came after the company — facing a liquidity crisis — agreed to sell itself to rival Binance for an undisclosed amount. Customers fled the exchange after becoming concerned about whether FTX had sufficient capital.

But Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, backed out of the non-binding deal after taking a look at the books of FTX, at which point it became clear that the smaller exchange’s problems were too big to solve.

Washington Turns Up Heat on Crypto ‘Darling’ Sam Bankman-Fried Following FTX Bankruptcy

As FTX teeters on the brink of collapse, former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried has fallen out of favor as the industry “darling” in Washington and drawn scrutiny from regulators and lawmakers in both parties.

Bankman-Fried, who was a regular presence on Capitol Hill over the past year as an industry advocate, tweeted on Thursday that he was sorry. “I f—-ed up, and should have done better,” he said.

Bankman-Fried stepped down as CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange he founded, and FTX filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, the company announced Friday. A spokesman for FTX and Sam Bankman-fried didn’t return a request for comment.

The company’s implosion has led the Biden White House and two powerful Democratic committee chairs to publicly criticize FTX and call for tighter oversight of the broader industry.

Excluding the cryptocurrency exchange’s U.S. business, Bankman-Fried tweeted that the company’s international operation has a total market value of assets and collateral that is higher than client deposits, but he said that is “different from liquidity for delivery — as you can tell from the state of withdrawals.”…

27 Counties in Illinois Have Passed Referendums to Explore Seceding From State. Here’s Where

On Election Day in Illinois, ballots contained statewide questions ranging from whether or not to amend the state’s constitution, to who should be the next Governor of Illinois, to who should sit on the Illinois State Supreme Court.

But some local ballots contained questions about whether to leave the state altogether.

Tuesday, two Illinois counties and a portion of another passed non-binding referendums that would encourage their elected officials to engage in discussions about potentially severing ties with the state government.

The votes were hardly a new phenomenon. Instead, they join a growing list of Illinois counties seeking to express their displeasure with lawmakers.

Previously, at least 24 counties had passed so-called “separation referendums,” according to reporting by Illinois Public Media. The three new additions to that list, Brown, Hardin, and the northeastern portion of Madison County, would bring that number to 27, representing more than 25% of the state’s 102 counties.

Alec Baldwin Sues Several ‘Rust’ Crew Members for Handing Him Loaded Gun

Alec Baldwin filed a lawsuit against several crew members of “Rust” on Friday for providing him with the loaded gun that he fired on set, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins last year.

Mitchell accused Baldwin of “recklessly” firing the gun that killed Hutchins, 42, as she was standing next to her, causing her emotional distress.

Biden’s Student Loan Handout Will ‘Go Down in Flames’ If Case Reaches Supreme Court, Experts Say

Legal challenges to President Biden’s massive student loan handout are likely to head to the Supreme Court, which will take down the administration’s unconstitutional plan, experts tell Fox News Digital.

Biden’s plan, which aims to cancel up to $20,000 in student loan debt for Pell Grant recipients in college and up to $10,000 for others who borrowed using federal student loans, is set to cost taxpayers over $400 billion. Since the administration’s announcement, a handful of legal challenges have been filed in courts across the nation, as states and advocacy groups work to halt Biden’s plan.

Carrie Severino, president of the Judicial Crisis Network, told Fox News Digital that challenges to the president’s student loan handout is a case the Supreme Court “ought” to take up.

Construction at the $830 Million Obama Presidential Center in Chicago is Halted After a NOOSE is Found at the Site

Cops investigate ‘shameless act of cowardice and hate’

Construction was halted at Chicago’s Obama Presidential Center after a noose was found at the site on Thursday while police investigate the ‘shameless act.’

Red Wave After All? GOP Winning Popular Vote by Wide Margin Despite Incongruous Results

The country may have experienced a red wave after all. It just didn’t translate into the electoral outcomes that have historically accompanied major political shifts — and after the initial wave of instant narratives extemporized by pundits on election night, close observers are now just beginning to dig for the reasons underlying the model-shattering disconnect.

Republicans are currently winning the national popular vote for the House in Tuesday’s midterm elections by a large margin, according to the latest data from the Cook Political Report.

Specifically, GOP candidates have so far received 50,672,592 votes, or 52.3% of the total ballots cast as of this writing. Democrat candidates, by comparison, have so far received 44,802,597 votes, or 46.2% of the total.

“Every win has been heart-wrenching because we wanted to know what citizens truly wanted,” Mike McCarter, one of the founders of the Greater Idaho movement, said Thursday. “We don’t want to impose anything, but this does send a message to the state legislature that they have to take care of us.”

Court Ruling States Anti-Hate Network “Did in Fact Assist Antifa”

A recent ruling by an Ottawa small claims court states that the Canadian Anti-Hate Network (CAHN) “did in fact assist” the far-left extremist group Antifa.

The judgment was the result of a trial between journalists Jonathan Kay and Barbara Kay and CAHN Director Richard Warman.

“The evidence disclosed that CAHN did in fact assist Antifa and that the movement has been violent. The Kays submission, which I accept, is that a human rights network like CAHN arguably (except in the most extreme circumstances) should not support a violent movement, and to do so, to most reasonable observers, would not be a ‘good look’,” the judgment states.

“While Warman is well known as a righteous crusader against white supremacy and right-wing racist hate and has been recognized and appropriately lauded for his work, he is also a controversial figure and I accept the evidence of the Kays that he has used litigation to silence or intimidate those he sees as his critics, or who oppose his methods of prosecuting hate groups.”

Government Identifies Remains of 24-Year-Old Hero Killed in WWI

Over 100 years after World War I, 23-year-old Private Harry Atherton can finally be put to rest after his remains were identified by the Canadian government.

According to the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), they were able to identify Atherton’s remains after they were discovered during a munition clearing process in Vendin-le-Vieil, France.

Researchers with the CAF’s Casualty Identification Program used DNA analysis, genealogical and archaeological methods to confirm it was in fact Atherton.

“The identification of Private Atherton gives the Canadian Armed Forces the opportunity to pay its respects and provide him with a final resting place,” said Minister of National Defence Anita Anand.

“His courage and selfless service can never be fully repaid. But Canada will remember and honour him, and those like him who gave so much for this country in the First World War. To his family I extend my sympathy and gratitude.”

Grain Wars: Black Sea Attack Exposes Zelensky’s Media Stunts for What They Are

To observe Zelensky’s statement to western media, arguing that African countries may face famines, is both absurd and disingenuous.

The Black Sea attacks on Russian naval vessels will no doubt focus the minds on decision-makers, after Russia reacted — briefly — by swiftly shutting down the grain deal, brokered by Turkey’s firebrand leader Recep Erdogan in August of this year.

Since the deal was signed, almost 400 ships passed through Istanbul heading towards Black Sea ports transporting over 9 million tonnes of grain all over the world.

And yet, despite Ukraine being the culpable party by instigating the attacks on Russian naval ships — knowing full well that this would risk the tenuous deal holding — the original agreement signed itself served neither side. It is understandable that Russia would be angry and respond in such an audacious way by pulling out of the deal immediately as attacks on the very Russian ships which operate in the Black Sea securing the passage for the grain ships seems like the best way for Ukraine to scrap the deal, knowing media will place the emphasis on Russia halting the arrangement…

Kherson Biggest Russian Loss Since Withdrawal From Outside Kyiv

When Kherson is fully back in Ukrainian hands, which now only seems a matter of time, this will represent a hugely consequential moment in a war now in its ninth month.

The loss of Kherson is on a par with Russia’s humiliating withdrawal from its positions outside the capital Kyiv earlier in the year, and caps a stunning three-month change of fortunes for the Ukrainians.

Nothing has gone Russia’s way for months.

They’ve lost huge swathes of territory in the east, the flagship of their Black Sea fleet has been sunk and a crucial bridge from Russia to occupied Crimea is still out of action.

Now Russian forces have been forced to abandon the only provincial capital they had managed to capture since February’s full invasion.

Just like the failed capture of Kyiv, holding on to Kherson simply became untenable.

This is the culmination of a patient, carefully-staged sequence of military moves, which began in July when Ukrainian forces, using newly-acquired American Himars rocket systems, attacked key bridges linking Russian forces in and around Kherson with their supply lines to the east and south.

India: Renowned Dentist Dr Krishnamurthy of Badiyadka in Kerala Murdered by Suspected Jihadis

Badiyadka, Kasargod: Dr S Krishnamurthy Murder case — Police arrested five Muslim League members, VHP observed hartal.

B Upendran | HENB | Kasargod | Nov 11, 2022:: Dr Krishnamurthy, a renowned dentist in Badiyadka in the Kasaragod district of Kerala who had reported missing a few days ago, has been found dead in mysterious circumstances. Dr Krishnamurthy has been running a dental clinic in the town for several years and is known for his service to patients. As per local sources, Dr Krishnamurthy had received threats from the leaders of the Muslim League and linked Jihadis purportedly to support another dental hospital of their community that recently started in the town. The doctor had received extortion threats and was also asked by the criminals to close his clinic or face dire consequences.

A few days ago, Dr Krishnamurthy went missing, after which the family members filed a missing complaint. The assistants at his clinic filed a complaint against the men who threatened them. However, the search for the doctor was not successful. The town was tense since he went missing. The police registered an unnatural death case, while Hindu organizations blamed the Muslim League and other Jihadis for his murder.

After the initial investigation, the police arrested areca nut trader and Muslim League leader and Kumbdaje Panchayat Secretary Ali Thuppakallu; Muslim League Badiyadka Panchayat office bearer Muhammad Hanif Yane Anwar; Kumbdaje resident Ashraf,; Annadka resident Muhammad Shiabuddin and Vidyagiri Muniyuru resident Umarul Farooq. The investigation revealed that a group of Muslims led by Ali and Anwar threatened to kill Dr Krishnamurthy in the clinic on Tuesday last. They accused the doctor of misbehaving with a woman who visited the clinic. Subsequently, Dr Krishnamurthy went missing. His bike was found in Kumbale town. Mobile was left at clinic. Badiadka police had filed case as per the complaint given by Dr Krishnamurthy’s wife. On Thursday, his dead body was found on railway tracks near Kundapur.

From Dr Krishnamurthy’s family source, it is divulged that two years back the dentist donated a lump sum amount to some youths for a Hindu festival. Hearing that news, the Muslim organizers of ‘Millat’ also demeaned a big amount which was denied by Dr Krishnamurthy. Since then, the Jihadi Muslim groups started threatening to the doctor to close his clinic or to face dire consequences. The Muslim groups also set a woman to malign the reputation of the dentist by framing false allegations like ‘misbehavior with female patients’.

On Friday, Badiadka town observed ‘hartal’ as the call was given by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). All the shops were closed. Protest was held under the leadership of VHP. Huge procession was held in Badiadka town by the VHP. The procession which began from the vicinity of Dr Krishnamurthy’s house ended at Badiadka main bus stand…

The Map That Shows the Scale of Britain’s Asylum Crisis and Reveals the Rise in the Number of Hotels Used by the Government to House Migrants at a Daily Cost of £6.8 Million to Taxpayers

This map of Britain reveals the drama-tic rise in the number of hotels requisitioned by the Government to house migrants at a £6.8 million daily cost to taxpayers.

Cities, towns and villages from London to rural Lincolnshire, Wales’s Snowdonia to Devon seaside resorts, are providing emergency rooms, at up to £150 a night per person, for thousands of arrivals needing a roof over their heads in the growing immigration crisis.

It is thought at least 200 hotels have now been taken over by the Government, housing some 37,000 migrants. Approximately a third are marked on this map, including a cluster of 20 in the West Midlands, housing hundreds of migrant guests.

The Mail has discovered that some state-requisitioned hotels, now closed to the visiting public, have given sanctuary to young men earmarked for deportation after slipping into the UK on traffickers’ Channel boats within the past few weeks.

The Police Are Now Checking Every Truck for Migrants, Czechs and Slovaks Will Cooperate

At the same time, Austria will extend border controls with Slovakia until at least December 12, and they will remain in force with Hungary and Slovenia until at least mid-May, as reported by the Novinky news outlet.
