Gates of Vienna News Feed 10/8/2022

A powerful explosion hit the Kerch Bridge last night, killing three people. The bridge connects the Crimea with the rest of Russia, and has two separate spans, one for rail and one for motor vehicles. Part of the vehicle span collapsed into the strait, and fuel tanker cars caught fire on the rail bridge. Ukrainians celebrated the event in videos shown on media outlets, but Ukraine has not taken official credit for the blast.

In other news, ten people were killed, including children, and eight others were taken to hospital after a petrol station exploded in the Irish village of Creeslough.

14th Federal Judge Join Boycott, Refuses to Hire Yale Students as Law Clerks

Elizabeth Branch, a federal judge serving on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, is joining a concerted push by conservatives on the federal judiciary to no longer hire clerks from Yale Law School. Judge Branch, who was nominated for the Eleventh Circuit by Donald Trump in 2017, informed National Review of her decision in response to NR’s inquiry about the trend, citing the “legitimate concerns” that had been “recently raised . . . about the lack of free speech on law school campuses, Yale in particular.” Branch is the 14th federal judge to have pledged to decline clerkships from Yale Law over the course of the past nine days. …

Congressman Says Daughter Died of Unexplained ‘Sudden Cardiac Arrhythmia’

A U.S. representative this week revealed that his young daughter died earlier this year of an unexplained cardiac event for which the family still does not have an answer.

Illinois Democratic Rep. Sean Casten said on social media on Friday that in June his daughter, Gwen Casten, “died of a sudden cardiac arrhythmia.”

“In layman’s terms, she was fine, and then her heart stopped,” he wrote, adding that “we don’t know what caused the arrhythmia, and likely never will.”

Casten said his late daughter was “a healthy 2022 teenager. She ate well, exercised, got regular check-ups, didn’t suffer from any behavioral health issues, and had close relationships with family and friends.”

“She was fully vaccinated, and quarantined after occasional positive, asymptomatic COVID tests during the omicron wave.”

New Lawsuit Challenges California Law Punishing Doctors That Spread COVID-19 Misinformation

Los Angeles psychiatrist Mark McDonald and Orange County primary care physician Jeff Barke filed a federal lawsuit this week to stop a new California law that labels the spread of misinformation or disinformation about COVID-19 as “unprofessional conduct.” The case was filed in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against the Medical Board of California and Attorney General Rob Bonta. Pedestrian Killed on Rt. 30 Stole Child and Car Prior to the Accident

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The pedestrian killed on Rt. 30 in an incident from Oct. 7 was reported to have been involved in a domestic dispute the same day where he stole a car and child, prior to him being killed, according to Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.

Police say that they were dispatched to a verbal domestic dispute at a business on Oct. 7 at around 11:20 a.m. between a man and woman.

The woman told police that after a dispute over the custody of their child, the man took the child and the woman’s car and drove off.

Additional information revealed that the woman was ordered to have custody of the child and that the man was possibly unstable.

After conducting an extensive search, police located the stolen vehicle nearby at around 2:05 p.m., unoccupied.

The child was then returned to the mother at around 3:42p.m. by the father, which prompted police to go and check on the child’s condition.

At around 4 p.m., police received reports of the same man being seen in the area of Rt. 462.

After searching the area for him, officials were informed of a man that was running along businesses in the area.

Officers were finally able to find the man who began to run close to the guard rail of Rt. 30 Eastbound, near the back of a building on the 3700 block of Hempland Road.

Police say that at this point, the man had hopped over the guard rail and ran into on-coming traffic, being eventually hit and killed by an eastbound car.

Texas Woman Dead After Teens Allegedly Fired 100 Rounds and ‘Hit the Wrong House’ In Drive-by Shooting, Sheriff Says

Two teenagers were arrested after Texas deputies said they allegedly fired 100 rounds and “hit the wrong house” in a drive-by shooting, killing an innocent woman and wounding another person.

The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home in San Antonio. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said deputies were patrolling the neighborhood when they heard a series of gunshots and saw a vehicle “fleeing the area at a high speed.”

The vehicle was eventually stopped and two suspects, 14 and 15, were arrested, Salazar said at a news conference. They have been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to NBC affiliate WOAI of San Antonio.

Salazar said he believes the suspects “came to this location and did a drive-by shooting” and “hit the wrong house.”

A 25-year-old woman, identified by the news station as Novita Brazil, was killed. The sheriff said the woman was in her bedroom doing some work when the suspects fired upwards of 100 rounds of various calibers into her home. A second woman, who was an Airbnb guest staying in one of the bedrooms, was injured.

Salazar said they were both “completely innocent.”

“We’ve got a pretty heartbreaking scene. Quite frankly, it shocks the conscience to know what happened out here,” he said.

‘Unknown Substance’ On New York Metro Causes Coughing, Vomiting Among Crowd

The release of an unknown substance on a New York metro platform at Union Square caused a panic among the crowd on Friday and induced many to coughing fits and vomiting.

West Virginia Supreme Court Upholds School Choice Law

The West Virginia Supreme Court on Friday overturned a lower court ruling and upheld a statewide school choice law.

Under the law, those wishing to pursue education for their children outside of the public system would receive up to $4,300 to fund the effort, according to the Epoch Times.

A lower court blocked the program, deeming it “an incentive to leave the public school system, reducing its enrollment and funding.”

“The loss of this funding will impact public school students, including Plaintiffs’ children who have special needs that can only be met through West Virginia’s public schools,” the court wrote.

The state Supreme Court overruled that determination, but provided little explanation, instead issuing a brief order with a promise to provide a detailed opinion later.

YMCA Calls Police on Julie Jaman After Dropping Off Petition to Allow Her to Swim

The war against the Port Townsend YMCA, and the banning of 80-year-old Julie Jaman from the Mountain View swimming pool continued Thursday when she went to drop off a Rebel News petition to allow her to swim again.

Jaman, who was a 30-year patron of the swimming pool, was permanently banned by the YMCA for hate and discrimination after she spoke out against allegedly witnessing a trans woman watching little girls undress in the women’s changing room. Before a police investigation was conducted, the YMCA immediately sided with the trans woman—a biological male who is also a staff member at the YMCA—and said that it is company policy to have staff escort children to the locker room.

Canada Bans Thousands of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard From Entering Country in Major Escalation

In a major escalation against Tehran’s regime, Canada on Friday permanently banned large numbers of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) from crossing its border.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s declaration stopped short of legally declaring the IRGC a terrorist organization as conservatives had sought.

But it nonetheless will reduce Iran’s presence in the West while increasing pressure on its ruling mullahs as they try to violently suppress nationwide protests.

Trudeau said the move would ban over 10,000 members of the IRGC, including many prominent leaders, from entering Canada and was appropriate punishment for a regime he said was engaged in “heinous state behavior.”

2 Scenarios Describe How Nord Stream ‘Attack’ Could be the First of Its Kind

Whatever caused the damage to the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea, it appears to be the first major attack on critical “subsea” (underwater) infrastructure in Europe. It’s now widely thought — not least by Nato — that the explosions that led to major leaks in the two pipelines were not caused by accidents. The alliance says they were a deliberate act of sabotage.

The attacks occurred in the exclusive economic zones of Denmark and Sweden and demonstrate the risks that Europe’s subsea infrastructures are facing. This raises the question of the vulnerabilities of European pipelines, electricity and internet cables, and other maritime infrastructure. Europe will have to revisit its policies for protecting them.

But it is still unclear how the attacks were carried out. The investigations will probably take months to complete, but there are two likely scenarios. A first option is that the attacks could have been carried out as an underwater operation using advanced submarine technology.

This implies that we are looking at a state and its navy. Although the attacks took place outside the territorial waters of the Nato members Denmark and Sweden, they could be interpreted as an act of war.

The second scenario is an operation launched from a privately owned surface vessel, such as a fishing boat being used as a platform for divers or submersibles to place explosives. In this case, the attack vessel was hiding in everyday maritime traffic.

‘Sabotage’ Disrupts Train Travel in Northern Germany

An act of “sabotage” disrupted train travel across northern Germany Saturday morning.

All high-speed, regional and freight trains in the north of the country were interrupted for nearly three hours Saturday morning due to radio link cables being cut.

Deutsche Bahn claimed that the paralysis was caused by a deliberate act, which halted trains in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony and Bremen.

Long-distance trains between Berlin and Cologne and Berlin and Amsterdam were also affected, while trains from Denmark weren’t crossing the border into Germany.

Germany’s Minister of Transport Volker Wissing said it was “clear that this is a targeted and deliberate action”, adding that the motive was not “yet known”.

Scottish Mother Facing Coronavirus Act Prosecution

Gabbie Burnett was thrown to the ground and arrested in January 2021 by Scottish police in Aberdeen for the suspected crime of breaking lockdown restrictions.

The police used the Coronavirus Act to enter Gabbie’s house and conduct a search because they suspected her of having an ‘illegal gathering.’

The truth was that Gabbie hadn’t broken any lockdown restrictions, she had just returned home from collecting her daughter, who’d just been discharged from the hospital.

The young mother heard a knock at the door and was confronted by police officers.

Gabbie stood her ground, protesting her innocence and refusing the police entry into her property. What happened next was caught on camera by her daughter and the video went viral.

UK: Vegans and Just Stop Oil Eco-Zealots Join Forces to Bring Central London to a Standstill by Pouring Milk All Over the Roads and Covering Shopfronts With Paint

Vegans and Just Stop Oil eco-zealots have joined forces to bring central London to a standstill by pouring milk all over the roads and covering shopfronts with paint.

Protesters from the groups, offshoots of Extinction Rebellion, blocked roads and bridges in the capital this afternoon in order to highlight their demand that the government stops new oil and gas projects.

Members of the environmental protest groups Animal Rebellion and Just Stop Oil poured milk on Regent Street and St James’s Street as they marched through central London.

The shopfront of William Evans gun room was covered with green paint and red paint was poured on the floors of Farlow’s fishing, hunting and shooting supply store, as well as placing paper flowers outside.

The group say this is to expose the outdated practices of hunting, shooting and fishing, whilst also showing that a better world is possible.

Animal Rebellion say the act highlights the need for urgent and immediate transition towards a plant-based food system, away from the current one that includes the inefficient and unnecessary exploitation of nonhuman animals.

Key Bridge Between Russia and Crimea Damaged, Ukraine Says

Ukraine said the Kerch Bridge had been a symbol of Russian power in Crimea.

Three people were killed on Saturday in the explosion that collapsed portions of the bridge linking Russia to Crimea, a Russian official said.

The Russian Investigative Committee also said it had identified the driver of the truck that was allegedly blown up on the bridge.

Russia’s response should be tough, said Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs.

“If the Ukrainian trace is confirmed in the state of emergency on the Crimean bridge, the consequences will be inevitable,” Slutsky wrote on his Telegram channel on Saturday.

Video Shows Mystery ‘Wave’ Under Crimea Bridge Just Before it Was Blown to Smithereens…

Speculation grows that Ukraine used a boat or explosive-laden drone — despite Russian claims of truck bomb — as attack threatens Putin’s supply lines

A mysterious ‘wave’ which appeared under the bridge between Russia and occupied Crimea moments before it was blown up has fuelled speculation that Ukrainian special services used a boat or explosive-laden drone to launch an attack that has damaged Putin’s supply lines.

Moscow furiously claimed a truck bomb caused the blast which killed at least three people but did not apportion blame — while the speaker of Crimea’s Kremlin-backed regional parliament accused Kyiv of being behind the explosion which took place early this morning, just hours after Putin’s 70th birthday.

Boston Dynamics Pledges Not to Weaponize Robots While China Arms Robo-War Dogs With Machine Guns

While several robotics companies, including Boston Dynamics, are pledging not to weaponize their robots and asked others in the industry to do the same, Chinese firms couldn’t care less and have created the most ridiculous drone that carries a robot war dog equipped with a machine gun.

Let’s start with an open letter obtained by Axios penned by Boston Dynamics, Agility Robotics, ANYbotics, Clearpath Robotics, Open Robotics, and Unitree Robotics. Here’s an important section of the letter:

“We believe that adding weapons to robots that are remotely or autonomously operated, widely available to the public, and capable of navigating to previously inaccessible locations where people live and work, raises new risks of harm and serious ethical issues.”

Thousands of Victorians will still be subject to vaccine mandates even after the state government drops its pandemic declaration next week.

The Herald Sun reported that the declaration, in place since 2021, was expected to be dropped on October 12.

But government departments and private sector employers would be able to enforce vaccine mandates, even without the pandemic declaration in place, under existing occupational health and safety laws.

The Victoria Health Department had already confirmed it would extend vaccine requirements for workers.

The U.K. Government is Experimenting on African Children by Feeding Them a Bug-Based Diet

The world’s elites are using the developing world as a testing ground for their bad green ideas. The U.K. government is experimenting on African children by feeding them a bug-based diet.

In an article by LifeSiteNews, it talked about the inhumane way that Western elites treat children in the developing world. It’s a common theme with these people, especially on all their green agenda ideas, that they use the developing world as guinea pigs for their experiments.

Poor African kids are the subject of an experiment to determine whether regular bug consumption can improve their nutrition without consideration of potential inflammatory effects from insects.

  1. The Russians seem to have gotten things up and running again no problem. The Ukrainians have upped the ante. The Russians have expressed a willingness to talk. All that seems to be coming out of the
diverse NATO mess that is the UKrainian driver is Kill! Kill! Kill! GHU.

  2. “The former US president says nothing will be left on the planet unless the Russia-Ukraine conflict is settled.” Biden + Boris + Brux Elles = real democratic levelling.

  3. The history of Ukraine before during and after WW2 is worth a glance. With dames and dunces currently dismantling civilisation in the West all will surely cheat up in common with the same bloody chaos quite soon?

European protests are increasingly directed against NATO
    8 October 2022 at 23.13

As Germans get clear on what happened to the Nord Stream pipelines, German protesters’ discontent is increasingly directed at NATO. In Paris, too, a demonstration was held today solely against NATO. But there is also anger against the government’s pre-announced worm and vaccine campaign.

    Berlin
Tens of thousands of Germans have gathered in Berlin today. Against anti-Russian sanctions, against high energy prices, against NATO and for an end to the war in Ukraine.
The popular slogans “wir sind das Volk” (“we are the people”) and “unser Land zuerst” (“our country first”) are chanted at the demonstration. Some Russian flags were seen in the crowd and anti-American sentiments were evident due to last week’s Nord Stream sabotage.

  5. Russia should be Germany’s best friend. It’s tragic what we, as Europeans, have to suffer because of American over reaching and delusion

      • And George Washington said to avoid foreign entanglements, yet here we are.

This really has little to do with Germans or Americans or Russians or Ukrainians. It is the Atlantic Council Feudal Lords who are driving all of this. They recognize Lords of the Keep, the economic/political Knight Vassals, and all else are serfs. No one gives a crap what a serf thinks.

  6. Ukrainians celebrated the event in videos shown on media outlets, but Ukraine has not taken official credit for the blast.

Yesterday I met a few people< doctor, cellphone sellers, … they were so busy with making money that they are not aware of the approaching Armageddon, which fits the use of Nuclear Weapons. As if they sure see year 2023 and enjoy their money.

Biden and its tail NATO exert unlimited pressure on Russia by any means all means.

From day one, indeed, since 2014, NATO's devilish support for Ukraine and forcing Ukraine to antagonize Russia until Russia was forced to save Russian speaking Ukrainians.

Do Europeans know about Minsk Agreement, on which Macron signed. Dare Macron talk about NATO's betrayal of agreements.

Why Europeans are more than happy to give muslims money for petrol and also their 13 yearold girls/ women.

WE import rice from Vietnam because we cannot grow rice here. We import dates from Iran and Saudi Arabia that's fine. Saudi import machinery, dairy, meats from the west. That's also fine. BUt when it comes to Russia, …

Any muslims has the natural right to live in any western country. Muslims have all human rights but no human rights to Trump, Nigel Farage, Geert Wilders, Katie Hopkins, Marie Le Pen, and similar patriots.

Oh patriots is wrong it is mutually exclusive to muslim replacement.
Just go to Iraqi Kurdistan and Istanbul and see the huge armies of Ukrainian blonds sold to muslims. And some swedish. Yes they pray to the pirate .

NATO is pressuring RUssia , Nay begging Russia to explode a nuclear device. As if to start nuclear war and bbbbblame Russia. As they did pressuring Russia until Russia had no choice but go to save the Ukrainian Russians.

    • Human trafficking to islamic nations of our women has been going on for years, the Balkan route towards Turkey and the middle east was horrific and brutal, I was hired a decade ago to interrupt these networks using any means at our disposal to stop it. Lets just say we did our job to well until interpol got involved and showed us what real corruption looks like. They put a stop to what we were doing. Looking back, I call that one of my greatest successes, for no one involved with that trade from top to bottom survived the operation and over a thousand young women and girls didn’t suffer a fate worse than death. It is one of the reasons why I have a burning passion against all things muslim.

    • “It is a puzzlement.”

As Mickey Rooney would say, “Gee kids lets but on a Congressional Hearing.” (Que showbiz busy music) Fade to — nothing.
