Thousands of UK pubs face closure this winter as soaring electricity bills signifies cost pressures will render the businesses uneconomical to operate. The question is, at what price does a pub need to charge a pint of beer to become profitable?
That question was answered by Tom Stainer, the chief executive of real campaign group CAMRA, who told the Daily Star that parabolic electricity prices suggest pubs would need to hike a pint of beer about 500% from 5 pounds to a “ridiculous” 15-20 pounds.

Czech PM Blames Russian Propaganda for Mass Protests in Prague
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala is blaming pro-Russian forces for mass demonstrations this weekend that saw tens of thousands of people protest against the government, the European Union and NATO amid soaring energy prices and inflation.
The “Czechia First” demonstration saw 70,000 people gather to protest the government in a development the Czech prime minister is blaming on elements influenced by Russian propaganda.
“It is clear that Russian propaganda and disinformation campaigns repeatedly appear on our territory and that someone is simply succumbing to them,” Fiala said, as reported by Euractiv.
Protesters, brought together by the Communist Party, the Freedom party, the Direct Democratic Party, and other groups labeled as “radical” — both far-left and far-right—called on the government to address soaring energy prices and the highest cost of living since the early 1990s for everything from housing to consumer goods.

Germany and Europe Set for Energy Rationing After Russian Gas Cuts
German gas importer Uniper has said that the country does not rule out undertaking gas rationing at some point following Russia’s decision to indefinitely halt gas flows via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline.
Uniper, Germany’s biggest importer of Russian gas, says it’s also considering legal action against Gazprom to compensate its shareholders for a 90% drop in the company’s market value following a sharp drop in Russian gas supply since June.
“We cannot rule out that Germany might look at rationing gas as something that might have to be considered. We know that the government wants to avoid this as much as possible because that would be a disaster for so many reasons,” CEO Klaus-Dieter Maubach has told Reuters.

Judge Tosses Lawsuit by Hitler-Praising, TDS-Stricken Fired Yale Psychiatrist
A far-left psychiatry professor who sued Yale for firing her over unhinged comments she made against then-President Donald Trump, just had her lawsuit tossed by a federal judge, according to the Hartford Courant.

Tupelo, Mississippi Pilot Who Threatened to Ram Plane Into Walmart is Down, in Custody
Pilot of stolen plane has been detained by authorities
The pilot flying a small plane over Tupelo, Mississippi has landed after threatening to crash into a Walmart Saturday, authorities said.
The Benton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the plane, flown by a man later identified as Cory Patterson, had landed in a field in Ashland, roughly 60 miles northeast of Tupelo.
Details on the plane’s landing remain unclear.
The Tupelo Police Department said it was notified around 5 am this morning that a pilot flying a “King Air type” airplane was considering crashing into a Walmart located on West Main street.
Authorities have confirmed the plane, which is believed to have been stolen, was a fixed wing multi-engine 1987 Beech C90A model.

Suspect in Canadian Mass Stabbing Spree Found Dead, Wounds Don’t Look Self-Inflicted: Police
Canada’s Royal Canadian Mounted Police have changed their view of the mass stabbing spree in and near Saskatchewan’s James Smith Cree Nation that has now killed 11 and left 19 injured, including the suspects.

Last year, the British Recorded Music Industry Ltd (BPI) and Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) won a case that saw the High Court order ISPs to block several popular YouTube rippers, including 2Conv and Flvto.

Hate Hoax in Germany: Green Politician Resigns After Inventing Nazi Death Threats Against Himself
The alleged death threats from neo-Nazis against Green politician Manoj Subramaniam have made headlines across Germany and led to tension in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany’s largest state by population. However, the councilor from Erkelenz staged the various threats in an elaborate scheme, according to the result of an investigation published by the public prosecutor’s office.
The 33-year-old, whose parents immigrated from Sri Lanka, had submitted numerous complaints. First, his car windows were smashed, and swastikas sprayed on the vehicle. Another time, he claimed SS runes and a swastika were drawn on the doorbell of his house. Then, he revealed that a swastika was scrawled on the sidewalk in front of his apartment and that he found razor blades in the mail. Ukraine’s First Lady to Struggling Britons: You Count Pennies, But We Count Casualties
Ukraine’s First Lady’s message to Britons facing crippling energy bill hikes and a cost of living crisis is that while they might be “counting pennies”, her county is counting casualties.
“There is no comparison to the suffering of people here, but at home in the United Kingdom, as you acknowledge, people are facing very painful choices because of the soaring cost of energy that’s going to make things very tough for people,” said BBC presenter Laura Kuenssberg in an interview with President Volodymyr Zelensky’s wife, First Lady Olena Zelenska.

Zelensky Warns Zaporizhzhia ‘A Step Away From Radiation Catastrophe’ — Again
Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian President, said a new cut-off of power connecting the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station to the national grid had placed the plant “a step away from a radiation catastrophe” again.
Mr Zelensky said Russian shelling was responsible.
Power at the Ukrainian plant was all but cut off on Monday for the second time in two weeks as Kyiv accused Moscow of pushing the war to the brink of nuclear catastrophe, one day before the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog was due to issue an assessment of the station.
The International Atomic Energy Agency said the plant’s backup power line had been cut to extinguish a fire, but that the line itself was not damaged and would be reconnected.
“Again — already for the second time — because of Russian provocation, the Zaporizhzhia station was placed one step away from a radiation catastrophe,” Mr Zelensky said in his nightly video message.
“The shelling of the (plant’s) territory means that the terrorist state does not care what the IAEA will say, it is not concerned about what the international community will decide.”

Pakistan: Suspect Who Stabbed Transgender Person to Death Arrested
The Keamari district police have claimed solving the murder case of a eunuch who was brutally killed a few days ago in the Shershah area.
Majid Saeed alias Khushboo had been stabbed by unknown attackers in a house located in the Jinnah Road area of the Shershah police limits on September 1. He was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. After the incident, a case was registered against the unknown persons at the Shershah police station.
On instructions from the DIG South, the SSP investigation formed a team, headed by SIO Shershah Sub-Inspector Yaqoob, and issued orders to arrest the culprit as soon as possible. The team started a probe and obtained CCTV footage in which a suspect is seen running away from the scene after the incident. The team, with the help of technical and intelligence sources, solved the mystery in a short time and arrested the suspect, identified as Mohammad Nauman, son of Mohammad Sulaiman Ansari. Nauman is said to have admitted stabbing the transgender person after the victim did not do what he was told to do.
Additional IG Karachi Jawed Alam Odho felicitated the police team on solving the murder case and appreciated their professional performance. The district investigation team very skillfully traced and arrested the suspect, he added. Odho announced certificates of appreciation and cash rewards for the cops for their excellent performance. The Karachi police were using all resources to improve the investigation department so that the accused involved in murders and other incidents could be brought to justice, he added.

The huge Chinese city of Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan province, extended its coronavirus lockdown and mass testing program on Sunday, trapping most of its 21 million citizens in their homes. At least 70 cities are now under full or partial lockdown, including the city where the Covid-19 pandemic began, Wuhan.
Chengdu went under lockdown on Thursday, to the surprise and terror of its inhabitants, who were given no time to prepare. On Sunday, city officials announced the lockdown would be extended for most of the city, with the exception of two small districts.

NZ Police Hunt Interpol Whistleblower With Media’s Help
The New Zealand Herald has been blasted on social media after it labelled a whistleblower who leaked a secretive plot to stop reporters Avi Yemini and Rukshan Fernando from attending an anti-government protest a ‘mole’.
A NZ Police spokesman confirmed the veracity of the leaked Interpol email in an article written by New Zealand Herald journalist David Fisher.

Vehicle Hits Explosive Device in Burkina Faso; 35 Civilians Dead
Ouagadougou: At least 35 civilians were killed and 37 injured in northern Burkina Faso on Monday when a vehicle in a convoy hit an improvised explosive device (IED), the interim government said in a statement.
The escorted supply convoy heading to the capital, Ouagadougou, hit the IED between the northern towns of Djibo and Bourzanga, an area where Islamist militants have escalated attacks on villages, police and military outposts since 2015.
“Escorts rapidly secured the perimeter and took measures to assist the victims,” the military government said in a statement.

Chile Voters Overwhelmingly Reject Left-Wing Constitution: ‘A Path of Hope’
Chilean voters have overwhelmingly rejected a proposal to overhaul a 41-year-old charter with a constitution that would have been among the most progressive in the world.
With 96% of the votes counted in Sunday’s plebiscite, the rejection camp had nearly 62% support compared to more than 38% for approval amid what appeared to be a heavy turnout with long lines at polling states. Voting was mandatory.

France: Up to 400 Homeless Immigrants Occupy Building in Paris Suburb, Demand Housing
Some 300 to 400 homeless immigrants occupied an empty building in Gentilly in the Paris suburbs over the weekend, and several dozen of them have taken refuge on the roof to avoid being expelled, French news agency AFP reported on Sunday.
The migrants entered around midnight on Saturday. The empty building of 8,000 square meers had been “scheduled for destruction,” and they made “a citizen requisition,” indicated United Migrants, an association that supports them.

Germany: Trans Man Beaten to Death by Asylum Seeker Who Should Have Been Deported
The case shocked not only the LGBTQ community: On the fringes of a gay parade in Germany, a trans man (25) was beaten so brutally that he later died in hospital.
Austrian outlet eXXpress reported that the perpetrator is a previously convicted asylum seeker (20) from Chechnya. The victim saw the the perpetrator insulting participants of the parade as “lesbian whores”. The German then intervened and tried to calm him down but the Chechen knocked him to the ground. The trans man hit his head on the asphalt so hard that he did not survive his injuries.
The perpetrator, Nuradi A. was the German youth boxing champion in 2017, according to a report in Bild. After the crime, a large-scale manhunt was launched for him. After a few hours, a policewoman recognised him at Münster’s main railway station and was able to arrest him.

Hundreds of Migrants Rescued in Mediterranean Dock in Italy After Uncertain Days
Hundreds of migrants and refugees reached the southern Italian port of Taranto on Sunday, after uncertainty surrounding whether they could dock.
459 individuals were brought to shore early on Sunday morning, having waited several days onboard the rescue vessel Ocean Viking in the waters of the Meditteranean.
60 unaccompanied minors were among them.
They were saved during ten operations last week in the waters between Italy and Libya, with many crammed onto unseaworthy vessels.
Around 210 migrants are thought to be from Bangladesh, 120 from Egypt and the others come from Tunisia, Pakistan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Palestine and Nigeria.

Irish Nursing Homes Closing at ‘Unprecedented’ Rate and Converted to Ukrainian Refugee Shelters
An “unprecedented” number of nursing homes are being closed and converted to refugee shelters for Ukrainians, warned a Waterford TD and junior minister for older people, Mary Butler.
The government minister said she traveled to Dublin to hold an emergency meeting about the issue and to speak with officials in her department. In total, 11 nursing homes have closed their doors in 2022, with Butler saying she is “genuinely concerned” about a trend she has seen over the last three months involving these homes closing in favor of hosting Ukrainian refugees, according to an interview on Irish radio network WLR FM.

UK: Migrant Crossings: More Than 2,000 People Cross Channel at Weekend
More than 2,000 migrants crossed the English Channel over the weekend.
The Ministry of Defence said 1,160 people arrived in Kent on Sunday in 25 boats. On Saturday 960 people arrived.
The latest crossings mean the total number of migrants for 2022 is already approaching the tally for the whole of last year. This year’s tally now stands at 27,415.

Thousands of anti-abortion activists flooded the streets of Central London on Saturday, culminating in a gathering in Parliament Square to demand the repeal of the Abortion Act in Britain. The peaceful demonstration was met with a counter-protest from a few dozen far-left pro-abortion activists, who chanted profanities and allegedly threw eggs at pro-life activists.
According to organisers of the March for Life UK, a record 7,000 people came out to decry the proliferation of abortion in Britain and the new pregnancy-ending pills by post system that the so-called Conservative government of Prime Minister Boris Johnson has instituted.

A PR firm cut ties with country music star Jason Aldean amid controversy over Instagram comments made by his wife, Brittany Aldean, condemning gender transformation surgery in children.

Youngkin Slams Virginia School District for Transitioning Trans Students Without Parental Consent
At a rally last week, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) criticized a school district for directing teachers to transition “transgender” students without their parents knowledge.
To recap, Townhall reported last month how it was revealed that teachers in Fairfax County, Virginia were required to a complete training program ahead of the 2022-2023 school year that says parental consent is not required for transgender students who want to “socially” transition. “Social transitioning” includes going by a preferred name and preferred pronouns that align with someone’s “gender identity.”
