The Bank of England has stepped in to stabilise financial markets after the British government’s tax-cutting plans caused economic chaos.
In an emergency intervention, the central bank warned of a “material risk to UK financial stability” if market dysfunction continued.
It came after the IMF urged the UK government to rethink its fiscal strategy that saw the pound plummet to a record low against the US dollar this week.

German Business Confidence Plummets to Two-Year Low as Recession Looms
The mood in the German economy has deteriorated considerably in the past month with the ifo Business Climate Index falling by 4.3 points to 84.3 in September, its lowest value since May 2020.
The drop in confidence was sharper than experts had predicted, with economists polled by Reuters only expecting a decline to 87.0 points.
The slump was felt across all four major sectors of the German economy, including manufacturing, services, trade, and construction, with President of the ifo Institute Clemens Fuest warning that the country “is slipping into recession.”

Seventy-one percent of American workers say the cost of living is outpacing their salary, according to a new Bank of America survey.

Slovak Economy on Verge of Collapse as Energy Prices Soar, Prime Minister Warns
Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger said on Wednesday that energy crisis and rising electricity prices could put the country’s economy on the verge of collapse unless the European Union provides more financial help.
Heger said that money allocated from an EU windfall tax, which is put on “abnormally high profits” of energy companies, should be equally distributed and Slovakia should receive 1.5 billion euros ($1.5 billion).
The prime minister also hopes for additional help from Brussels that could provide Slovakia with 5 billion euros more from unused regional development funds to reduce energy bills for businesses.

Spain’s Food Prices Rise as Much 118 Per Cent in Just One Year
Spain’s food prices have risen at record rates according to the Organisation of Consumers and Users (OCU), who said that sunflower oil had risen the most at 118 per cent.
The OCU said on Wednesday, September 28 that with prices rising it was important to shop around as this could save as much as 20 per cent on your shopping basket.
They add that in general terms prices have risen far quicker than what consumers are used to, with items like cleaning products rising 15.3 per cent the fastest in 34 years.

Spiraling energy costs in Sweden have several manufacturing companies on the verge of closure, with the country’s steel industry being hit particularly hard by a dramatic rise in production costs, the Swedish Samnytt publication reports.
Steel forging company Bharat Forge in Karlskoga has experienced a quadrupling of its electricity prices and now risks being forced to halt its operations. 12 GOP Senators Demand Explanation for FBI Arrest of Pro-Life Activist
EXCLUSIVE — Twelve Republican senators are demanding an explanation from the Justice Department about the FBI’s decision to surround the home of a pro-life activist and arrest him in front of his family.
In a Tuesday letter, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Chuck Grassley of Iowa, and 11 other senators asked Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray for more information about the arrest and indictment of pro-life activist Mark Houck. Officials have charged Houck with violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE Act), apparently in relation to an incident in which Houck pushed an abortion clinic worker who allegedly yelled profanities at Houck’s 11-year-old son.
While the incident between the two parties was dropped, the Justice Department told Houck in April 2022 that he was being investigated for violating the FACE Act. The Senate letter says Houck’s lawyer said he was willing to cooperate in the investigation, and then, last week, as many as 20 FBI agents surrounded Houck’s home “wearing armor plated tactical vests, ballistic helmets and holding ballistic shields and long guns.”

Biden Appears to Look for Deceased Congresswoman in Crowd: ‘Where’s Jackie?’
President Biden forgot about the death of Indiana Rep. Jackie Walorski while at an event Wednesday, repeatedly searching the crowd for her and calling her name while on stage.
Biden made the grim mistake during an appearance at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health in Washington. Walorski was one of four lawmakers who sponsored legislation pushing for the conference last year.

Hurricane Ian Storm Surge Floods Homes, Sends Boats Floating Down Streets of Southwest Florida
Conditions continued to deteriorate Wednesday in southwest Florida after Hurricane Ian made landfall with 150 mph winds and a forecast 18-foot storm surge.
As a Category 4 hurricane, Ian came ashore near Cayo Costa in Lee County just after 3 p.m. EDT, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Videos and images from south Naples and Marco Island in Collier County painted a dangerous picture of how serious the storm surge would become as Ian’s eyewall came ashore.

Ian Downgraded to a Category 3 Hurricane as it Pushes Inland
Hurricane Ian has now weakened to a Category 3 storm as it continues its push inland.
With maximum sustained winds of 125 mph, it’s still a major storm with a life-threatening storm surge and strong winds battering Florida’s southwest coast.
Over the next 24 hours, inland flooding and tornadoes could threaten several areas across the state.
Ian made landfall as a Category 4 storm at 3:05 p.m. near Cayo Costa, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 mph.

Lawsuit Demands San Francisco Stop Homeless Camp Sweeps
Homeless people and their advocates sued the city of San Francisco on Tuesday, demanding that it stop harassing and destroying the belongings of people living on the streets with nowhere to go, and with the goal of forcing the city to spend billions of dollars on affordable homes that will keep residents housed.
The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area and others filed the lawsuit in federal court on behalf of the Coalition on Homelessness and seven individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Lawsuit Filed to Stop Biden Administration’s Unlawful Student Loan Cancellation
Indianapolis; September 27, 2022: Today, Pacific Legal Foundation filed suit against the U.S. Department of Education to block its illegal move to cancel more than $500 billion in student loan debt.

Murder Suspect, 15-Year-Old Daughter Killed in Shootout With Police on California Highway
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. — An Amber Alert ended Tuesday after a fugitive father and his missing teenage daughter were shot and killed during a shootout with sheriff’s deputies along a California Highway.
San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus said Anthony John Graziano, 45, and 15-year-old Savanna Graziano died following the shooting on Interstate 15 just east of Los Angeles.
According to preliminary reports, the girl may have fired back at the deputies during the vehicle pursuit that started at 10:25 a.m. after a 911 caller reported seeing Graziano’s Nissan Frontier near Highway 395, Discus said.
After a pursuit on southbound I-15, which included an exchange of gunfire, the suspect’s vehicle went off the road between the freeway and an off ramp.
The suspect began firing at deputies, who fired back. During that time, a passenger wearing a tactical helmet and “trauma plate” on their chest exited the passenger side of the vehicle and ran toward deputies.
As the gunfight continued, deputies fatally struck the driver inside his truck. The passenger, who was later identified as the teenager, was also struck as she ran toward deputies.
The girl was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead just before noon, Dicus said.
Authorities did not say whether the girl was struck by gunfire from deputies or her father, later found dead in his truck.
“This all needs to be confirmed,” as it is preliminary information, Dicus emphasized.
Dicus did not know how many times the teenager was shot. Only one AR-15-type rifle was found at the scene, he said.

Oakland School Shooting Leaves 6 Adults Injured, Police Searching for Suspect
Six people were injured in a school shooting Wednesday in Oakland’s Eastmont Hills, police said.
Oakland police officials said the shooting took place at the King Estate campus on Fontaine Street, which houses multiple schools. Officers are looking for at least one shooter, but add other suspects might be involved.
“Today’s gun violence at Sojourner Truth school shocks the soul,” Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf said in a tweet. “Our schools are sanctuaries for our children.”

Highland Hospital in Oakland confirms it is treating three of the victims, who all are in critical condition with gunshot wounds. The other three victims were transported to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, according to the hospital.

Philadelphia PD Seeks to Identify 100 Juveniles in “Riot” At Wawa Convenience Store Last Weekend
It’s just another day in Democrat-run Philadelphia. Police are attempting to identify 100 juveniles who stormed and ransacked a Wawa in Philadelphia over the weekend.
On Sunday, at around 8:15pm, a Wawa convenience store on Philadelphia’s Roosevelt Boulevard was overrun by juveniles who caused more than $10,000 in damages and vandalized the property.
Surveillance video shows the juveniles “screaming, throwing merchandise and breaking things in the store”, Philly Voice reported. Police believe that some of the juveniles were coming from the roller skating rink located next door.

Soros-Backed Prosecutors Face Backlash in Virginia
In what has become a disturbing and alarming pattern in Fairfax County, Virginia, a defendant charged with sexually assaulting a minor walked free with only misdemeanor charges last week following a mishandling of the case by Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano, one of nearly 100 Democrat prosecutors funded by far-left billionaire George Soros. Tulsa Prosecutor Recovering After Being Stabbed by Daughter
An Oklahoma prosecutor was recovering Wednesday at his home in Tulsa, one day after police said he was stabbed by his adult daughter.
“Unfortunately (Tuesday), I found myself in a situation that I hoped would never happen,” Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler, 60, said in a statement. “Fortunately, my injuries are such that I am able to go home.”
Jennifer Kunzweiler, 30, Kunzweiler’s daughter, was arrested following the stabbing at Kunzweiler’s home, according to a social media post Tuesday night by Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin.
“Tulsa Police has criminal jurisdiction and will work this case like all other cases,” Franklin wrote.
Police Capt. Richard Meulenberg said Jennifer Kunzweiler was taken to a hospital after her arrest at the family home, where she also lived. She was treated for self-inflicted cuts sustained before she stabbed her father in the arm and midsection.
A motive for the stabbing remained under investigation, according to Meulenberg.

As evidence piles up that the Russian Nord Stream gas pipelines were deliberately sabotaged, Fox News host Tucker Carlson suggested Tuesday that the Biden regime is to blame.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Wednesday responded to speculation that the Biden administration sabotaged two gas pipelines that run between Russia and Germany, denying allegations of interference with Nord Stream 1 and 2 despite the administration previously promising to put an end to Nord Stream 2 should Russia invade Ukraine.
Responding to a reporter who asked about Russia’s claims that the Us was behind the leaks, Jean-Pierre said, “so, look, the President said that NS 2 wouldn’t become operational and we would work with Germany on that,” she said. “And he was right, because Germany took the step in February to freeze it, which was widely reported by all of you. Water Drains From Tampa Bay From Ian’s Winds, Then Refills
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Water driven back by powerful winds drained from Tampa Bay as Hurricane Ian approached Florida’s Gulf Coast on Wednesday, and some dared to venture out on the exposed bay floor.
Ian eventually made landfall as a major hurricane near Fort Myers, about 100 miles (160 kilometers) to the south.
A number of people posted photos on social media of themselves and others walking out on the exposed sand and silt, despite warnings from local officials to stay back. Tampa Bay has a normal average depth of about 12 feet (4 meters).
The phenomenon of the bay emptying out also occurred in 2017 when Hurricane Irma caused another so-called negative surge, according to experts.
Because hurricane winds blow counterclockwise, the winds at the northern edge of Ian’s circular system were blowing from east to west with such force that they pushed bay water into the Gulf of Mexico.

ArriveCAN Chaos Caused Some Travellers to Defecate Themselves While Waiting to Cross Border
Parliament was told on Tuesday the government’s controversial ArriveCan app, which was designed to speed up border crossings, actually increased the amount of time travelers spent entering Canada.

Calgary Warns Ottawa’s Net-Zero Electricity Plan Would Hike Costs by $45 Billion
A new energy industry update for the City of Calgary found that proposed net-zero federal electricity regulations would increase electricity prices in Alberta by $45 billion over 15 years.

Germany: Breaking News: AfD Headquarters Raided by Prosecution Officials
The national headquarters of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) in Berlin have been raided by officials from the capital’s prosecutor’s office.
As FWM reported, according to a survey by the opinion research institute Insa, the AfD is now the strongest force in East Germany. The trend is seen nationwide. On the other hand, support for the once-popular ministers Karl Lauterbach and Robert Habeck (Greens) have imploded.
The officials raided six other locations in the German capital and the states of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia were also searched. According to investigators, certain party members allegedly may have violated the country’s political parties act and committed breach of trust.

Germany’s Population Exceeds 84 Million for the First Time
The German population has surpassed 84 million people for the first time after the highest biannual rise in population growth since reunification, the Federal Statistical Office announced on Tuesday.
The German stats office confirmed that 843,000 more people were residing in Germany as of June 30, 2022, than at the end of last year, a population growth of 1 percent.
The number of inhabitants increased in all federal states, but particularly strong growth was recorded in Berlin, up 1.3 percent, followed by Bavaria and Hesse, both at 1.2 percent.

A record number of people have been murdered as a result of gun violence this year in Sweden — with a quarter of the year still to go.
In total, 48 people have been shot dead in 2022 across the country with the latest fatal shooting taken place in the southern city of Kristianstad on Thursday where a man in his 20s was murdered.
Like many of the reported cases, authorities have no suspects at this moment, according to officer Mikael Lund who spoke to Swedish broadcaster SVT.
The previous record year for fatal shootings was 2020 when 47 people were killed by guns — 35 had taken place by the end of September.

Hungary to Hold National Consultation on EU’s Russia Sanctions
Hungary is planning to launch a national consultation over the EU’s Russia sanctions, with the consultation asking citizens whether they support the sanctions or not. The Hungarian government has vocally opposed many of the sanctions imposed on Russia arguing they harm Europeans more than they hurt Russians, and Hungarian Prime Viktor Orban just last week called for an end to Russian sanctions by the end of the year in order to halt inflation, halve food prices, and bring soaring energy costs under control.
Hungary has long put questions of vital national importance — such as border security, pro-family policy and immigration to a national consultation — to its citizenry, asking the Hungarian population how it should proceed. While the consultation is non-binding, the government views the citizens’ opinion as a guiding principle related to decisions it takes at the national level, with the consultations designed to help gauge public support for specific policies.

Hungarian police have launched an investigation into allegations that millions of dollars in foreign aid were funneled to the Everyone’s Hungary Movement (Mindenki Magyarorszaga Mozgalom or MMM), which is a political organization aligned with the left-wing opposition. The National Investigation Agency (NNI) is now investigating suspicion of embezzlement and money laundering.

It has been revealed this evening, Wednesday, September 28, that there are actually four leaks in the Nord Stream pipelines under the Baltic Sea. Previously reports, including one from Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson stated yesterday, Tuesday 27, that there were three leaks.
According to a source with access to the Coast Guard, the person told SVT Nyheter that there are in fact four leaks — two in Sweden’s economic zone and two in Denmark’s.

Oil Rigs in Norway’s North Sea Buzzed by Mysterious Drones

Norway has displaced Russia as Europe’s top natural gas supplier as energy supply chains are rejiggered. According to Daily Mail, being the biggest supplier to the energy-stricken continent comes with risks, as the Scandinavian country’s oil and gas rigs in the North Sea have been buzzed by mysterious drones.
The country’s Petroleum Safety Authority warned these mysterious drones could unleash “deliberate attacks” on critical energy infrastructure and or even smash into a helicopter on an offshore oil rig to wreak havoc.
Energy minister Terje Aasland explained the government is “increasing security at infrastructure sites, land terminals and platforms on the Norwegian continental shelf.”

The head of ruling party Law and Justice (PiS), Jaroslaw Kaczynski, commented on Second World War reparations from Germany and revealed that Poland would soon start pursuing the matter.

Russia Calls UN Security Meeting Over Pipeline, Blames United States for ‘Terrorist Attack’
Russia on Wednesday called for a United Nations Security Council meeting over the Nord Stream pipeline “sabotage,” on which Moscow officials are blaming the United States.
The Nord Stream 1 and 2 natural gas pipelines that run from Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea on Tuesday each reportedly started leaking after reports of blasts.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova asked via Telegram whether former Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski’s speculation that the United States was behind the pipeline leaks is an “official statement about a terrorist attack.
Zakharova also posted footage of Biden from early February when he said that the United States would “bring an end” to the Nord Stream pipeline if Russia invades Ukraine.

India: Centre Bans PFI and Eight Affiliate Organizations for 5 Years, Cites ‘Unlawful Activities’

Asha Saxena | HENB | New Delhi | Sept 28, 2022:: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Wednesday morning banned the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its associates, including the Rehab India Foundation (RIF) and Campus Front of India, for five years under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The PFI was engaged to the terror plans of killing various Hindu leaders belonging to RSS and BJP and associated with many anti-national and subversive activities all along in a target of making India as an Islamic State within 2047.
The MHA banned the PFI and its associates and issued the gazette notification a day after the second nationwide crackdown on the radical outfit in five days with police teams across seven states conducting raids Tuesday and detaining or arresting more than 270 people with alleged links to the radical outfit.
The ministry in its notification said the PFI and its associates, affiliates, and fronts have been indulging in unlawful activities, which are prejudicial to India’s integrity, sovereignty, and security, have the potential of disturbing public peace and communal harmony, and supporting militancy in the country.
“The Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary to exercise its powers under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the UAPA Act as the PFI is involved in several criminal and terror cases and shows sheer disrespect towards the constitutional authority of the country and with funds and ideological support from outside it has become a major threat to the internal security of the country, investigations in various cases have revealed that the PFI and its cadres have been repeatedly engaging in violent and subversive acts,” stated the notification.
After banning the PFI, the MHA also issued another notification with a subject line of delegation of power and said under the exercise of the powers conferred by Section 42 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Central Government directs State Governments and the Union Territory administrations to exercise all the powers under Section 7 (to prohibit the use of funds) and Section 8 (notify places used for the purpose of an unlawful association) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act or UAPA.
In the first notification, the MHA said some of the PFI’s founding members are the leaders of the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and that the radical outfit has links with the Jamat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), both of which are proscribed organisations. “There had been a number of instances of international linkages of PFI with Global Terrorist Groups like Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The PFI and its associates or affiliates or fronts have been working covertly to increase radicalization of one community by promoting a sense of insecurity in the country, which is substantiated by the fact that some PFI cadres have joined international terrorist organisations,” it states…

Backlog for Dutch Asylum Applicants as High as During the 2015 Migrant Crisis
The backlog of asylum applications in the Netherlands is almost as high as during the 2015 refugee crisis, according to new data.
Figures from Eurostat show that the Dutch immigration service has not yet responded to almost 30,000 asylum seekers.

The abhorrent attack on a French woman who was gang raped by three Sudanese migrants while walking home alone in Nantes on Saturday has sparked national outrage and a debate on the extent to which mass migration has affected national security.
After spending the evening with friends, the 40-year-old victim was returning home early on Saturday morning at approximately 5 a.m. On her way home, she asked a group of males if they had a lighter for a cigarette, the public prosecutor of Nantes, Renaud Gaudeul, said during a press briefing. She was then accosted by three males who first requested she hand over her mobile phone and personal belongings.
