From a Corona Dictatorship to a Heating Dictatorship

It seems that not only will Europeans be shivering in the coming winter, they will also be slapped with fines by the state if they fail to shiver sufficiently.

Many thanks to Hellequin GB for translating this article from Report24:

Is Europe slipping into a heating dictatorship? Italy is also planning horrendous penalties for “energy sinners”

After Switzerland, where there is even a threat of imprisonment, “energy wasters” now also have to face penalties in Italy — the government is planning fines of up to 3,000 euros. Is Europe heading for a heating dictatorship? How long will it be before other countries like Germany and Austria follow suit?

Cozy, warm apartments could soon be a thing of the past in Italy, too. According to a report in the daily newspaper Il Messaggero, the Italian government is planning rigorous heating rules: the heating season is to start two weeks later, possibly not until November. In addition, one hour less per day will be allowed for heating, and a maximum temperature of 19°C (66°F) will apply. These measures should save up to six billion cubic meters of gas per year.

In Rome, such regulations have been a reality since March, apartments and public buildings there may only be heated up to a maximum of 18°C (64°F). The same may soon apply to all of Italy, and a draft of the exact rules is to be submitted to the EU Commission by October 15.

Random checks and monitoring of the national distribution network are intended to ensure that the orders are enforced. In apartment buildings, administrators should keep the temperatures of the radiators low. However, it is still unclear who should check the apartments and houses of Italians for heating sins; this task may be transferred to the municipalities. But there may also be nice neighbours with a block warden mentality who are happy to take over the controls…

According to the Italian media, disregarding the requirements may lead to drastic fines: Failure to comply with the heating rules could be punished with a fine of between €516 and €2582, according to a law from 2001 that is still current. Failure to properly maintain a heating system could even result in a fine of up to €3,000, according to a 2005 EU law on energy-efficient buildings. Overall, the Italians get off lightly with these penalties. In Switzerland, heating offenders who intentionally exceed the maximum heating temperature face a prison sentence of up to three years.

The energy crisis, which was brought about by Western Governments themselves, is now once again opening the door to new restrictions and patronizing of the population. It should only be a matter of time before other countries introduce such heating rules. Especially in Germany and Austria, with the Greens participating in government, who have already attracted attention with particularly draconian Corona measures, it will probably not be long. This party takes every opportunity to impose bans, especially when it comes to “saving the climate”. Therefore, these completely exaggerated heating rules can be seen as a further step towards a climate dictatorship: the Corona measures were obviously only the overture.

Afterword from the translator:

I believe I was right with my assessment in my comment under “Turn up the Thermostat, Get Three Years in the Slammer”. This is just another drive to take each and every freedom away and control every aspect of peoples lives, no matter how small. It smacks of SHARIA law.

  1. That nothing will change until they fear you meme comes to mind or the Wellness Camp in Australia for what happens to societies that voluntarily disarm.
Hygiene and safety will keep the Kulaks out!

    • Americans no matter what the so called betters of gov say will Not give up their guns, Period! The so called betters know it too, that is why they are afraid, very afraid and they should be.

    • Hey! Easy on us Catholics or we will bring back the Crusades for you heretic heathens, we are not to fond of this Red Pope as it is.

        • They call him the red pope because he is a GD communist and loves the WEF and kisses Soros ring. He needs to be removed. As for the commi jesuits, they need to be Purged.

      • Are Catholics Christians? I am asking because I wonder what would Jesus Christ say about the Crusades?

        • No, they arent” Because they pray to a dead woman named mary instead of Jesus Christ. And about the Crusaders, they urinated on the cross and stole land and money from the poor to donate to the Vatican.

Jesus would Love them as He loves everyone but He would disavow their evil behavior.

          • Your understanding of the Knights Templer and the Crusades is rather thin T. As we do not pray to Mary over Jesus means you know nothing of the Church. So next time you speak of heresy and blasphemy from a heretic false church, know what the [vulgar intensifier] you are talking about.

          • Theresa – I am aware of the problems with Catholic “theology” that you speak of. In my view, they put tradition of men above the truth of God (biblically speaking).

However – and I think that I wrote this here to you once – God would not make Rome the ruling power of the world if there was nothing good in it. Catholic Church, in my humble opinion, represents “Babylon the Great” and truth be told, Babylon was not perfect, but it is called “the glory of the kingdoms of the Earth”, the king of Babylon Nabuchadnessar acknowledged the Most High, and is remembered for that.

All I want to say is that when I read your replies, I get the feeling that you throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Coming “at the heathen” with rage and judgement will not turn them, but a peaceful, reasonable discussion just might…

As far as I know, the only people who really upset Jesus were the bankers, aka. the Moneychangers. Not the Babylonians. In fact – when Israel stopped worshiping their God, God left them and gave them over to Babylon. Babylon, the Catholic Church, serve a purpose on this Earth. And we are not called to fight the institutions of this world, but expose evil in high places.

The Bible says that Babylon will become “habitation of every evil spirit” – before it falls. The same might happen to the Catholic Church as well, if the forces of Evil overtake that kingdom called “the Catholic Church”.

          • Excuse me asking, but why would he do that? As far as I know, Jesus Christ taught “love your enemy”, “turn the other cheek”, and…

“My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.” John 18:36

“he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword”

I simply don’t see justification for the Crusades from the teachings of Jesus Christ. That’s all.

          • Barn, love your enemy means one on one, not armies which is Jesus approved of fighting to avoid being slaughtered.

        • @ Barn Swallow

One of the most-pernicious historical lies of the last half-century is that the Crusades were an act of aggression by Christendom, a.k.a. the West or Old Europe.

We can only speculate as to the precise origins of this canard, but it did not take root in academia until around 1970, which roughly corresponds to the rise of the baby boomer generation and the hard-left/pro-communist counter-culture in the West.

This also corresponds to the rise of the petrodollar – an era in which the Sunni Arabs began exercising considerable muscle within American culture and society, and the West generally, using their privileged position and immense oil wealth to co-opt and corrupt scholarship about the Islamic world.

The powers-that-be in the West played along with this whitewashing of history since all of the “right people” were getting filthy rich, which was what mattered to them. If the price was academic integrity in a heretofore obscure corner of historical scholarship, so be it.

And then there was the emerging “Red-Green” alliance, composed of the communists (reds) and Muslims (greens), allied in their hatred of Christianity and the West/European civilization, and their shared desire for its downfall.

The defensive nature of the Crusades can be easily proven by examining the archeological data collected from dozens upon dozens of sites of battles between the Islamic world and non-Muslims (including Christians), over the last 1,400 years. Dr. Bill Warner has done an excellent job collecting these data in his books.

With the exception of a small number of battles and campaigns fought inside the Islamic world, the vast majority of these battles and engagements took place on neutral ground or territory controlled by Christian civilization.

Islamic doctrine itself is greatly concerned with the fate of the infidels, the unbelievers and apostates upon who has been declared endless holy war (jihad) until such time as the entire world has been conquered in the name of Islam and all have said the shahada and become believers.

In other words, as long as there are non-Muslim lands in the world, populated by unbelievers, the soldiers of Allah are commanded to go forth into their lands and wage war against them.

Mohammed himself said that jihad by the sword was so vital to Islam that it ought to have been the sixth pillar of the faith. Any mujahedin (holy warrior) who loses his life while engaged in jihad immediately ascends to paradise where all of the pleasures imaginable await him.

People who do not know Christianity love to talk about Christ being a pacifist, but he commanded devout Christians to have the means of self-defense, and admonished those men who did not have a sword to “sell a cloak and buy one.”

Eight hundred years ago St. Thomas Aquinas studied and wrote upon just war theory for Christians, the circumstances under which Christians may legitimately take up arms. And many great thinkers prior to that time also considered the subject at length.

Oh, and one other thing: According to Will and Ariel Durant, the preeminent historians of the West, Muslims are the greatest mass murderers in history, with the blood of 270 million people on their hands over the last 1,400 years. Whatever violence has been done in the name of Christianity is many orders of magnitude smaller and pales in comparison.

Islam is also responsible for the greatest act of genocide in human history, namely the slaughter of fifty million Hindus and other non-Muslims in what is today the Indian subcontinent, over a period of years in the 1500s.

Perhaps it is to these acts you should direct your attention.

          • Georgiaboy61 – thank you for your lenghty essay, but you are preaching to the choir here 🙂

My argument here is not about whether the Crusader have been justified. My whole point is about getting the justification for the Crusades from the real, living Jesus Christ?

I believe it is not, because to my knowledge, Jesus Christ has not given his Apostles charge to take up swords, shields, and javelins and fight against the flesh.

Christians are explicitly instructed to fight spiritual battles, not physical. That is also why Jesus let himself be crucified.

          • Georgiaboy61 – one more thing! I overlooked this because you went straight to the Crusades to the Holy Land, but…

I was asking about the Crusades because G threatened with Crusades against the “Protestants”, not the Muslims.

I myself being Bohemian know a thing or two about the Crusades which had been declared against Bohemia in the 1400’s. Bohemia was a Christian kingdom, not Muslim, yet – the Bohemian Heretics declared 4 demands:

            1) Bread and Wine for the masses (The Church was in charge of Wine back then you see, and the poor would not get any…)

            2) Freedom to Preach the Scriptures

            3) Taking all “worldly authority” from the Church Priests

            4) Punishing all mortal sins, even those commited by the Priests and the Nobility (equal treatment before the law – medieval style)

So, for these 4 demands by the Kingdom of Bohemia, the Pope(s) sent 5 crusades against the “Heretic Kingdom”.

…just to put the record straight, not every crusade was a crusade against the Muslims.

    • Please give it a rest, theresa. A problem with all the Abrahamic religions is that their deities/major prophets are male. Traditionally, and I believe correctly, women are seen as being more empathetic than men, so it is quite natural that Catholics in particular venerate Jesus’ mother. If he still existed (which I don’t believe) he might be quite pleased.

More broadly, the Scottish novelist A J Cronin (familiar to older Brits for “Dctor Finlay’s Casebook”, televised twice in my lifetime) wrote “The Keys of the Kingdom”, about a Jesuit priest, a truly good man, who becomes a missionary in China. While training in the seminary, his instructor says “God loves all Christians, but especially Catholics”. Our hero replies that surely most people’s religion is a matter of heredity, and his mentor tells him he has all the makings of a heretic.

Any god I could believe in would have to be more inclusive than yourself.

      • You know NOTHING about the Abrahamic religions. A Woman named Deborah was one of the Judges.
A female prostitute was one of Jesus ancestors.
Queen Esther was married to a king.
Mary was his Mother, however, JESUS NEVER called her his mother. She was not divine, she did not assume to heaven with Jesus. She was a sinner like everyone else and in the grave wating for Jesus return.

YOU give it a rest Mark., The Catholics are pagans. And Jesus would condemn them for blasphemy
        [Redacted]
There are not other gods than Jesus Christ, our Creator.

        • Well,my late grandmother believed only Methodists went to Heaven. She wasn’t very Christian either.

        • Well, we really do not know if Jesus ever called Mary “mother’, having not been there with them. As a child and growing up it is hard to imagine he did not. It is taught that Mary was conceived without original sin and remained sinless. This is what the immaculate conception is about. Who was the female prostitute you mention? And if true, what has that got to do with anything? We know nothing of Mary’s antecedents and although we know his bloodline, Joseph was not his father.

        • T, you heretics really are amusing to say the least, because whatever scripture you are following wasn’t written by any of the Apostles or sage men of the age. LOL

      • As for you,Mark ole boy, those bloody Jesuits should have been purged a hundred years ago for believing in marxism instead of Jesus. The archeology supports Jesus’s existence and so do old Roman records.

      • Mark H – according to my understanding, Theresa is right that the Bible does not support praying to anyone but Jesus. Mary could have been a fine woman, but she is not to be worshipped, Just like men in general are not to be worshipped. And I agree with that, in fact, every time men begin to worship some man, or a woman, it almost always ends up in a tragedy.

So, although I agree with you on that “it’s only natural for the Catholics to pray to Mary” – I don’t think we should see it as a “christian practice”, because it isn’t.

“The Gospel” means “The Good News”, and though people today don’t have a clue what’s the real “Gospel” – it is, in fact, the news that Jesus was sent into this world to save us, mere mortals, from hell – which means “the grave” in the original translations. And there is no other way to survive the grave (hell) – than by accepting Jesus, the son of God, as the Lord and Savior. That’s the Gospel.

And that is why – praying to Mary – or praying to any other mortal man, is very problematic, and does not have support in the Scriptures.

        • I wasn’t saying the Bible does endorse praying to Mary, just that it’s a human thing to do, and I believe God would understand, unlike some of his followers.

          • It is NOT the human thing to do; Even Jesus would condemn your practice. Jesus rebuked Mary when she was at the Wedding in Cana.
God Almighty CONDEMNS PEOPLE WHO WOULD pray to your Catholic Mary.
You know NOTHING about what it means to be a Christian. I have witnessed Roman Catholics praying to your demon Mary. Their prayers go unanswered because your demon Mary is NOT the Mediator.

In I Timothy 2:5 it states “For there is only one Mediator between God and man, the Man Jesus Christ”

            [redacted]

          • Mark, I think we are in agreement. Except that the Bible explicitly warns against the “human things to do” 🙂

One of my colleagues, for example, attacks me for my “Christianity” – which is actually my simple effort to explain what the Bible really says. He always speaks about his grandmother who prayed every day on her knees to a little statue of Mary, and then died when she was 50. “Where was Mary when my grandma was dying in pain?” he says…

            And so it goes.

So, although I believe that Theresa makes the mistake of doing too much judgements, for Jesus said “judge not” – I also believe she is right with regards to the “theology” of it all.

I personally have no problem with the idol worshippers, but I try to warn them that they might end up like my colleague’s grandma… Hours, days, months of prayer on her knees, to a statue, to a wrong figure according to the scriptures – all for nothing.

But, then again, who am I to say it was for nothing? Because I don’t really know that, I never met her, I just know her from talking to my colleague…

  2. Just head to the warmer countries and hang out in the sun. What keeps you there is fast fading. Is it the country you remember from your childhood? No country is, so choose a warm one and spend nothing on heating. Really they have been doing everything they can to get rid of you for years; work slavery, mass migration to take all your money and jobs and still you don’t get the hint. They don’t want you anymore and they wish you would leave!!!! Old people can’t, but young people should because it will be their turn next.

    • There is no where to run to any longer, the European male, especially the 14-25 crowd have realized they are marginalized, demonized and now discriminated against at all levels and they are not going to be tolerant of it any longer, in fact, they are tribalizing faster than I could have ever possibly imagined, especially after a weekend with younger male relatives and their European girlfriends around the campfire and a few drinks, I was actually shocked at what they told me, they are not going to put up with what is thrown at them by politicians, teachers or anyone else who is seen as weak, feckless, sheep, or followers of the latest PC woke gaia diversity worshipping useful idiots. They are mad and are not going to take it any longer. I do have hope where these young Nationalists in the making are concerned.

Re: “Christians are explicitly instructed to fight spiritual battles, not physical. That is also why Jesus let himself be crucified.”

That’s a misinterpretation of Christian doctrine. With due respects, you’ve been contaminated with the pacifist Cultural Marxist interpretation of Christianity. There’s well over a thousand years of Christian doctrine and teaching which directly contradicts your mistaken interpretation, all of it written by scholars whose knowledge of such things far-exceeds our own. It is much too lengthy to be reconstituted here, but – as I noted earlier – a good place to begin setting your thinking straight is with St. Thomas Aquinas and his doctrine of just war, which he formulated eight centuries ago.

Christians are spiritually prohibited from taking violent action against others which is unprovoked and is undertaken for unjust reasons, but they are permitted – even encouraged in some specific circumstances – to wage defensive warfare and violence to protect the weak, helpless and innocent.

“Disobedience to tyrants is obedience to God” – Thomas Jefferson

Some historical scholars claim that Ben Franklin originated the quote, not Jefferson; but either way, it is clear how the Founders regarded the matter.

      • @ G

Re: “Well stated and wonderful history lessons to boot.”

Thanks! As they say in Texas, I’d better go buy a bigger hat!

It is germane to note, however, that there are sects of Christianity that are adverse to violence of any kind, such as the Quakers, Mennonites, Seventh-Day Adventists, and others – if memory serves…

There were also numerous members of the early Christian church who forswore all violence, even to defend themselves in places like the Colosseum in Rome, where Christians were famously fed to the lions.

Many modern commentators misquote the original Hebrew of the Old Testament and the Ten Commandants, one of which they say states “Thou shalt not Kill,” when the correct translation is actually “Thou shalt not Murder.”

A great deal of reflection and thought was given to the subjects of “just killing” and “just war,” not least because of the fact that the Christian world came under sustained attack from Islam shortly after the time of Mohammed.

It is also patently obvious that European (Christian) civilization would not have survived, let alone prospered in the manner that it did, without the sword and shield of her defenders on the field of battle.

The pacifists may argue that non-violence is something to which all Christians should aspire, but pacifism in the face of those determined to do violence is a recipe for being conquered, enslaved or even slain. It is also a recipe for the loss of your civilization and way of life.

In a perfect world, violence would not take place nor even be necessary, but alas we do not live in such a world.

In researching this issue a bit more, I ran into a memorable quote by the great G.K. Chesterton (1874-1936), who said,

“Idolatry is committed, not merely by setting up false gods, but also by setting up false devils; by making men afraid of war or alcohol, or economic law, when they should be afraid of spiritual corruption and cowardice.”

I think he was describing life in the early-mid 20th century, but he might as well have been describing today’s world.

        • Georgia, I really do enjoy your well thought out and well written little essays, they are informative, enjoyable and educational, thank you much for your due diligence.

As a Catholic, I did know that the proper translation from Hebrew to English or whatever language for that matter, for Thou shall not murder is the proper translation, not Thou shall not kill. I am surprised not many of the Christian faith know this. As for the Quakers and the rest of the Amish, It amazes me they still to this day do not use modern electricity, power equipment or vehicles except the horse and buggy for transport, but they live amongst themselves and harm no one.

The problem with pacifist sheep is, they always end up eaten by the Wolves.

          • Barn, The shepherds have turned into weak, feckless feminaxi’s who into not know what sex they are, the wolves will feast on them as well. Nature is wonderful at sorting it all out.

    • Georgiaboy61 – how is my inquiry, whether Jesus Christ, the guy who had not defended himself when they came for him, and let himself be crucified – how do you get justification for fighting flesh with swords and javelins – from him?

I am not asking about “thousand years of doctrine”. I am asking about – what would Jesus Christ do??

How is this, my inquiry, a misinterpretation of “Christian Doctrine?”

      • Jesus then was the sheep, and the Jesus of today would come in as a Lion, he would pick up the Sword and do what is necessary to defend those in need.

  4. T, you heretics really are amusing to say the least, because whatever scripture you are following wasn’t written by any of the Apostles or sage men of the age. LOL

  5. @ Barn Swallow

Re: “…just to put the record straight, not every crusade was a crusade against the Muslims.”

I appreciate your clarification of the point, which is undoubtedly correct. Indeed, it is nothing short of miraculous that Old Europe (Christendom) was able to rouse itself to repel the Saracens when they were engaged in so many internecine sectarian conflicts of their own, i.e., the Hundred Year’s War, Thirty Year’s War, and so on.

Not just between Catholics and Protestants, but between different sects within them and among them. Throw in Machiavellian maneuverings by the papacy, the royal houses of Europe, and the various power brokers of that time, and chaos was often the result.

The Peace of Westphalia of 1648 – which marked the birth of the nation-state in Europe – was agreed upon in part as an attempt to keep these various calamities from happening again. But that’s another story….

Pacifism is idealistic. That’s the word I was looking for earlier when we corresponded, but that failed to come to me. We admire and often for sound reasons, the non-violent resistance strategies of figures like Gandhi and King and other similar figures in history, but it is also important to recognize that such measures can only work in a society based upon a relatively robust system of ethics and the rule of law, and whose people possess the moral conscience to which an appeal for justice can be made.

In other words, pacifism isn’t going to dissuade the barbarians at the gate who mean to pillage your city and then burn it to the ground, and enslave, rape and murder everyone inside. Returning to the Saracens, such passivity and non-violence is indeed like waving a red flag in front of a bull: It just emboldens them to greater heights of aggression.

The opposite pole from pure pacifism is pure militarism, the idea that force and the use of force can and should be used to solve a vast range of human problems. Militarists, in their own manner, are as idealistic as pacifists – and the dangers of falling into this line of thinking should be obvious to any civilized person, and not only a Christian.

As with so many things in life, there is a sensible median somewhere. Even as humans strive to create a world in which violence will be far more rare, they must also realize that since the impulse towards aggression & violence is embedded within our very DNA and nature as humans. Consequently, eliminating it will be neither easy nor simple.

I am not enough of an authority upon Christianity, nor the Bible, to debate this topic as intelligently as I might wish to do. I know a few things, but not enough. So you have motivated me to do some research and contemplation, which is not a bad thing at all, especially if (as I do) you call yourself a historian.

    • Georgia, Say what you want about ole Machiavelli, but the man did understand human nature and used it to his best advantage.

As for Gandhi and King, had they been ruled by the Germans or Japanese, you would have never heard of them.

As for Western Civilization, we have become too civilized for our own good, and have let the 3rd world invade us without a proper response where the civilized so called man won’t fight back to the point it kills him and his family out of some ridiculous sense of tolerance at any price and diversity at all costs. What we now have is a society on the brink of total collapse where the strong ruthless men will take over and rule once again over the weak, feckless, pacifistic, feminaxi, tolerance types, for human nature, as Machiavelli clearly understood all too well, always overcomes the best of intentions and wishful thinking. I leave you with this by another man who understood the civilized man as well. Blackbeard.

If men play the fools, then it is only the fools that they will persuade, but appear to be the devil, then all men will submit.

      • The Muslims always take out “Post Christian Civilisations”.

        It’s a law of history.

They represent the way of the World, IMHO. Their rewards are the rewards of the flesh, sex with 156 virgins, smoking hashish, and did you know – the muslims, once they get to paradise, will be allowed to drink alcohol together with Mohamed!

Theirs is a complete reversal of the true Christian Doctrine, IMHO.

        • Barn I know the devil’s religion islam only too well since I fought those devil worshippers for many years in those God forsaken places of the Middle/Far East and Africa. Deo Volente!

    • “As with so many things in life, there is a sensible median somewhere.”

I agree with that. However, that’s also a part of the point I am making:

“the impulse towards aggression & violence is embedded within our very DNA and nature as humans.”

…I am quite confident that the Bible explicitly says Man has a dual nature, physical and spiritual, where the spiritual is meant to overcome the physical – the lusts, the natural impulses, etc. So – if we agree that the impulse towards violence is in our very DNA, the Bible instructs us to fight it.

All mankind of the world is viewed as “brothers” by God, IMHO, so even if we get attacked by the most vile villain, we are instructed to “love him” and try to help him. It is a very difficult concept to grasp for people who are “of this world”

In fact, Jesus loved his enemies so much, that he had not fought them even when he could. Because he knew that by giving himself away, he will get a great spiritual victory, which he did, and that is why we speak about him to this day.

My personal view is – if you want to fight, you must be ready to die. Like David, when he took on Goliath, when Israel had been effectively cornered by the Philistines, and there was no more way out.

Nevertheless, here is a quote about the dual nature of man: Just to show where I am coming from. Galatians Chapter 5

“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”

      • The Bible and God did not tell us to sit idly by and get slaughtered by our enemies and gave us the word that we may defend ourselves and fight back.
