Lawmakers Call for the US to Issue a Digital Dollar

Lawmakers are calling on the Federal Reserve to issue a digital dollar, arguing digital currencies issued by countries like China threaten the status of the US dollar as the global reserve currency.

A bipartisan group of lawmakers, including Reps. French Hill (R-AK) and Maxine Waters (D-CA) are pushing for the digital dollar so that the US can compete with other developed countries that have launched digital versions of their currencies. Waters dubbed the launch of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) “a new digital assets space race.”

Obama Economist Slams ‘Reckless’ Biden Student Loan Forgiveness

Following the Biden announcement that student loan debt up to $10,000 will be waived for individuals making up to $125,000, and double that for those less well off, Republicans and even Democrats slammed the move, with one Obama administration economist labelling it as ‘reckless’.

Jason Furman, who chaired Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers, tweeted of the student debt forgiveness “Pouring roughly half trillion dollars of gasoline on the inflationary fire that is already burning is reckless.”

Q2 GDP Revised Higher to -0.6%, As Price Index Soars to Highest Since March 1981

While few will care about the second revision to Q2 GDP which as of today ended nearly three months ago and all attention has shifted to the current quarter which concludes in a month, it was notable that for Q2, the BEA revised the GDP number which came in well above what it reported in its preliminary, first estimate and also what Wall Street expected, as the economy shrank “only” 0.6% in Q2, an improvement to the -0.9% reported initially and better than the -0.7% consensus expectation. Still, the data confirms that for all intents and purposes, the US remains in a technical recession.

Arizona is Sued Over Law Restricting the Filming of Cops

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed a complaint over a controversial law that was recently passed in Arizona that limits filming of the police by the public.

The law, passed in July, makes it illegal to intentionally film the police within 8 feet (2.5 meters) without the officer’s consent. The law allows the police to order someone to stop filming, even when they are on private property, and have the owner’s consent. Breaking the law is a misdemeanor, carrying a fine without jail time.

The lawsuit then listed several examples including purported Facebook posts that show Reinhart had criticized Trump while praising the late Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.). Man Arrested in Stabbing Death in Gulfport, Mississippi

A convicted felon had been out of prison for six months when he was arrested for the stabbing and strangulation death of a roommate at a halfway house in Gulfport for convicted felons, according to testimony in a court hearing.

Two Plead Guilty to Stealing Ashley Biden’s ‘Inappropriate Showers With Dad’ Diary

Two Florida residents have pleaded guilty to stealing Ashley Biden’s diary and other belongings, before selling them to Project Veritas in the weeks leading up to the 2020 US election.

Aimee Harris, 40, and Robert Kurlander, 58, admitted they took part in a conspiracy to transport stolen materials from Florida, where Ashley Biden had been living, to New York, according to the New York Times.

“Harris and Kurlander stole personal property from an immediate family member of a candidate for national political office,” said Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.

And while Project Veritas declined to publish the diary (and were still raided by the Biden DOJ), the National File did publish excerpts on Oct. 24, 2020 — and the full diary two days later. While treated as potentially fake at the time, we now know that the contents are legit — including claims that Joe took ‘probably inappropriate’ showers with Ashley, and that she believes she was sexually molested as a child.

YouTube Quietly Drops Some COVID Censorship Policies But Banned Channels Haven’t Returned

Over the last few months, YouTube has quietly removed or changed many of its COVID censorship rules which resulted in numerous videos and creators being censored throughout 2020 and 2021.

Collectively, these changes to YouTube’s “COVID-19 medical misinformation” mean that users are now allowed to question or dispute whether the vaccines reduce the risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19, question or dispute the effectiveness of masks and social distancing, say that the symptoms and contagiousness of COVID-19 are equal to or less severe than the common cold or seasonal flu, and declare that the pandemic is over.

All prohibitions on statements about masks, social distancing, and self-isolation have been removed from YouTube’s “COVID-19 medical misinformation” policy. Additionally, one ban on statements about vaccines has been removed from the policy and several of the rules related to vaccines have been changed.

EU: Controlled Demoltion

by Raúl Ilargi Meijer

As I read through the multitude of daily news articles about Russia, Ukraine, NATO and EU, it’s getting ever harder to escape the idea that there is a controlled demolition of the continent happening. And that neither its “leaders”, and certainly not its people, have any say in this. All we get from those “leaders” are NATO or World Economic Forum talking points. The only independent voice is Victor Orban. Who is either silenced in western media or painted as fully insane.

But Orban’s Hungarians won’t freeze this coming winter. He just signed a new gas deal with Russia. The main reason that is provided for all the others not doing that is of course Russia’s Special Military Operation in Ukraine. Which is as insane as Orban is, and “totally unprovoked”, say the western media. Noam Chomsky summarized that best: “Of course it was provoked. Otherwise they wouldn’t refer to it all the time as an unprovoked invasion.”

And no, it wasn’t just Russia/Ukraine, way before that Europe had already screwed up its economies beyond recognition — if you cared to look under the hood. But why make it worse? I get a very strong feeling that those EU “leaders” have alienated themselves far too much from the people they purport to serve, and they’ll regret it. For now it’s obvious among farmers, for instance, but when people start freezing, they will want to know why. And if no answer is forthcoming that is both honest and satisfactory, many “leaders” will have it coming for them.

Europe Branded ‘Third World’ Economy

The fallout of the sanctions imposed on Russia over the conflict in Ukraine has turned Europe into “the third world of the Western world economies,” a senior contributor to Forbes magazine has claimed.

“These days, the European stock market is the worst in the Western world,” under-performing the US by ten basis points, Kenneth Rapoza pointed out in his article on Tuesday.

“The most significant headwind” for such a state of affairs has been the “Russian sanctions on energy as punishment for its war with Ukraine,” Rapoza insisted. Those restrictions “set off a massive commodity price spike that’s hurt the European economy the most,” he added.

A weeping nurse faces life in jail for stabbing her husband to death as he slept — after Googling “it is time to kill”. Rebecca Searing, 51, killed her husband Paul Searing, 57, at their home in Ryecroft, Harlow on February 12 this year by stabbing him twice in the abdomen as he lay in bed.

She had admitted manslaughter, never disputing that she had killed her husband, but denied murder, claiming she lost control at the time. Searing, dressed in a maroon long-sleeve T-shirt, showed no emotion whatsoever as the verdict was delivered.

But a mugshot shows her weeping. Addressing Searing, Judge Christopher Morgan said: “The jury have convicted you of the offence of murder. You know that there is only one sentence that I can pass in those circumstances. The consideration for the court is the minimum term before you’re considered for release. The sentencing will be on September 7.”

Violent Crime Rocks Sweden Ahead of Elections

Sweden will hold general elections on September 11, 2022. At the same time, the country is rocked by a wave of violent crime that is unprecedented in modern Scandinavian history.

For the first time, crime tops the list of voters’ most important concerns in the run-up to the elections. “It’s going to be a very unique type of Swedish election with a very unusual issue at the top of the agenda,” Henrik Ekengren Oscarsson, professor of political science at Gothenburg University, told newspaper Dagens Nyheter. Forty-one percent of those surveyed said that law and order are the most important issues in society, as well as the most important political issues.

Patrik Öhberg, political scientist at the SOM Institute, states that “This is the first election campaign in modern times where it’s so high up on the agenda that all parties, whether they want to or not, have to discuss the issue.” This could benefit the Moderate Party, the Christian Democrats, or the Sweden Democrats. On the other side of the political spectrum, it could be detrimental to the Left Party, the Greens, and the ruling Social Democrats.

The Social Democratic Party has headed the Swedish government since 2014. During these eight years, crime has continued growing to intolerable levels nationwide. Sweden has in recent years suffered attacks involving bombs, hand grenades or other explosive devices on a weekly basis, sometimes several times a week.

Dutch Man Suspected of Robbing Banks in Germany Detained in Morocco

A 33-year-old Dutch national being sought by German police in connection with attacks on banks has been arrested in Morocco.

Interpol issued an arrest warrant for the man, who is suspected of being involved in two armed robberies in the German towns of Kist and Gartringen that netted a haul of €186,000.

He was detained at Tanger airport on Tuesday after Moroccan and European security agencies worked together to track him down, Morocco’s national police said.

He is expected to be extradited to Germany to stand trial for his alleged crimes. Authorities believe he is part of a criminal network implicated in several armed robberies and explosive attacks on banks across the country.

[Comment: I doubt that the suspect, a “Dutch national”, has European ethnicity.]

Google’s Jigsaw Project Partners With Psychologists to Stop “Misinformation” About Ukraine

Google’s Jigsaw will begin a campaign to combat “misinformation” about Ukrainian refugees. The campaign will be based on research conducted by psychologists at Bristol and Cambridge universities.

The psychologist conducted their research on several social media sites using 90-second clips to inoculate people against disinformation. In their report, they defined “inoculation theory” as a method to “reduce susceptibility to misinformation by informing people about how they might be misinformed.”

Has Ukraine News Fatigue Set in?

Ukraine celebrated its Independence Day yesterday, while simultaneously defending itself from the Russian invasion. While it may seem like all eyes have been on the country since Putin launched the attack on February 24, Statista’s Martin Armstrong notes that six months down the line, a tail off in global interest has begun to set in.

Zelensky, The Ukrainian president, has always been aware how crucial it would be for his country’s success that the attention and sympathies of Western powers (and people) were maintained — signified for example by the many speeches he has held to governments around the world, as well as ongoing public requests for financial and military support.

As data from Google shows however, the war has already been shifted out of focus for most Google News users.

Zaporizhzhia: Occupied Nuclear Plant Disconnected From Grid — Ukraine

The final pair of working reactors at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant have been disconnected from Ukraine’s power grid, the state nuclear agency says.

Nearby fires apparently interfered with overhead power lines, disconnecting the now Russian-controlled site from the national grid for the first time ever.

The plant continues to be powered by a local thermal plant, Energoatom added.

It comes amid growing concern over fighting near the complex, which is the largest nuclear plant in Europe.

Fires at a nearby thermal plant interfered with overhead power lines, Ukraine’s state nuclear agency said on Thursday.

“As a result, the station’s two working power units were disconnected from the network.”

Ethnic Hindu Man Dies in Muslim Mob Attack in a Bangladesh Village

Elderly Hindu man of the tribal community dies in a mob attack in Satkhira district of Islamic Bangladesh.

Atul Das | HENB | Dhaka | Aug 25, 2022 (late post):: An elderly Munda man died from serious injuries two days after hundreds of Muslims attacked a village inhabited by the ethnic minority community in southern Bangladesh, leaving several injured.

Narendra Munda, 65, died in Dhumghat, a village in Satkhira district on Aug 20, locals said.

His death came after about 200 Muslims surrounded the village of 27 Tribal Munda families and attacked villagers with the alleged intent to grab their land and drive out the mostly Hindu indigenous community, they said.

The mob, armed with homemade weapons, attacked Narendra Munda and other villagers as they attempted to resist.

Munda leaders and activists say the attack was carried out because they are a marginalized tribal minority in the Muslim-majority country.

“The Munda people are a small community and most of them practice Hinduism, so the Muslim majority think there will be no justice if they are attacked,” said Nilima Munda, vice chairman of Sundarban Adivasi Munda Sangstha, a development organization for the Munda community living near the Sundarbans, the world’s largest mangrove forest.

“They [Muslims] are trying to drive the Munda out of the country so that they can grab our land. They think it is very easy to take our land because no powerful person sides with the minority Munda,” Nilima told UCA News.

Narendra’s son Sonaton Munda, 38, said all they want is to live on their ancestral land with dignity.

“We have been living here for almost 200 years, this is the land of our ancestors. We could not even imagine that we would be attacked like this. They killed my father. I demand exemplary punishment,” Sonaton told UCA News.

“As we are a minority and have no one to stand up for us, they attacked us,” he said.

However, a case on behalf of the Mundas has been filed with the local police and 17 people have been accused…

It was the latest action in a wave of anti-government protests which have spread across the country after Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern pursued a controversial ‘Covid Zero’ elimination strategy which saw harsh lockdowns and strict mandates used on the population.

The nation is now battling a cost of living crisis which has seen an increase in homelessness with New Zealand media reporting NZ media that hundreds of New Zealanders were suffering through a freezing Winter living in their cars with those on the ground describing the conditions as ‘heart-breaking’.

A Million Ukrainians Fled to Germany

Since February 24, when the military operation in their country began, 971 063 Ukrainians have fled to Germany and been registered there.

German daily Die Welt reported on the figures by citing the Federal Ministry of the Interior led by Nancy Faeser (SPD).

At least 73 percent of adults are women. Military-age Ukrainian men are banned from leaving their country because they are expected to serve in the army. The proportion of children and young people who have come to Germany is 36 percent.

However, it is apparently unclear how many war refugees are actually still in Germany. “A significant number may have already traveled to other EU countries and also returned to Ukraine,” the newspaper quoted a spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior as saying.

Biden Tries Again to Legalize Illegal Aliens Without Congressional Authorization

The Department of Homeland Security has finalized a rule that would grant legal status to 600,000 children of illegal aliens. The new directive would formalize the rule adapted in 2012 during the Obama administration and transform it into federal regulation. It would prevent deportations and grant work permits to those who came to the United States as children.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) has been in legal limbo ever since a Texas judge ruled that the program was illegal in the early months of the Biden administration. The new rule going into effect October 31 would codify most of the eligibility rules: applicants must prove they arrived in the U.S. by age 16 and before June 2007, studied in a U.S. school or served in the military, and lack any serious criminal record.

The Texas case is likely to end up in the Supreme Court, where justices already ruled against Donald Trump’s bid to end the program, largely because of a technicality. But this case is based on far narrower Constitutional grounds; only Congress can declare large swaths of illegal aliens as legal. And that argument has a good chance of winning in the high court as it’s currently constituted.

As stated by Mr. Fraser, “If we don’t embrace immigration to continue to bring young, working-age families into the country, our conversation 20 or 30 years from now, it may not be about labour shortages, but will be whether we can afford things like schools, and roads, and hospitals. We need to continue to embrace immigration…”

  1. Why Islam is winning

    26/8-22

    from:
    https://www.snaphanen.dk/2022/08/26/derfor-vinder-islam/#more-198443

    By Lars Hedegaard

A Swedish reader asks me if I think Sweden can be saved. My answer is, unfortunately, that neither Sweden, Denmark nor other Western countries do, because very few have understood what Islam is all about. Therefore, they also do not realize that headscarves, mosques, demands for public prayer calls, halal, organized rage over cartoons, street demonstrations, riots, so-called “gang crime”, etc. are well-known means of struggle aimed at undermining, disorienting and ultimately subjugating infidel societies like Sweden and Denmark.

In all Western countries there have been some writers, politicians and authors who have done their best to educate and warn, but they have not been taken seriously. Instead, the vast majority of the population has listened to “experts” and the media, who have responded to any criticism of Islam with Islam propaganda. Like now Deadline, which, in response to the proposal to ban headscarves in schools, hastens to invite women in Islamic uniforms to the studio to explain why this is a terrible idea. And that’s how every Islamic struggle will be “explained” and defended.

Many years ago, I was called by a Danish diplomat with many years of experience in Muslim countries. When Muslim women start wearing headscarves, he said, it is a sign that Islam has arrived in a country that the ideology’s proponents intend to conquer.

But no one understands that. No one wants to understand it. No one wants to hear about it. That’s why Islam will prevail, and one day, when the infidel population must crawl along the walls of their houses and conform to Islam’s commandments, some will ask how it could go so wrong. But only they will remember what it was like to live as free people. The others will see it as a normal situation.

My friend Vibeke Andersen has written a useful summary of Islam’s conquest strategy:

“The requirement to wear headscarves in public services is typical of the third phase of Islam’s conquest of the West,” she writes at the outset and continues:

“The world-renowned Islam critic Dr Peter Hammond, who has lived for many years in various Islamic countries, has described how the gradual conquest will take place.

    0-2 %
When the Muslim population is less than 2% in a country, Muslims will be perceived primarily as a peaceful minority that poses no threat. They are even welcomed by the cultural elite as an exotic addition to the street scene and by the business community as a complement to the workforce.

    2-5 %
When Muslims make up 2-5% of the population, they start recruiting from ethnic minorities and vulnerable groups, as well as from prisons and street gangs. They form their own small gangs that commit vandalism and rape.

    5-10 %
From 5%, Muslims will begin to exert a disproportionate influence on society. For example, they will demand halal food in institutions and special rules in many other areas. They will also start threatening public officials and shop workers. In the form of car burnings, robberies and gang rapes, for example, they will exercise terror against their environment.

    10-20 %
When Muslims reach 10% of the population, they use widespread violence and other lawlessness to get their demands met. Any non-Muslim act is perceived as a violation of Islam and leads to street riots, arson and assaults. Jews are violently persecuted. Streets and squares are occupied by Muslims during demonstrations and other displays of power. The police are overstretched and prisons are full of Muslim gang members.

    20-40 %
Violence escalates when the Muslim population reaches 20%. Spontaneous” riots break out, militant jihadist groups go on the rampage and Jews are killed in the open. Muslims burn Christian churches and Jewish synagogues. The police are reinforced by the military, but cannot match the violence.

    40-60 %
When Muslims make up 40% of a country, militant Muslims will carry out regular massacres of dissidents, daily terrorism and regular warfare with small arms and explosives. The police and other authorities in the country are incapable. Civil war is a reality.

    60-80 %
Muslim persecution of “infidels” is rising sharply. They ethnically cleanse entire cities. They demand Sharia law and the abolition of all other legislation. Jizya, the special tax on infidels, is introduced.

    80-100 %
When 80% of the population is Muslim, there will be permanent repression of “infidels”. There will be ethnic cleansing throughout the country and in some cases even genocide. Through merciless persecution of all dissenters, the Muslims will create a country that is 100% Muslim.”

As you will see, Denmark is in the third phase, while Sweden is in the fourth. But as I said, the populations do not realise this and are therefore facing their demise.

    • What I don’t understand about all this is, there are so many articles around in the critical scene that talk about the uncanny power of the relatively small Jewish people over media and decision makers all over the Western world, especially the Anglosphere. Either this is not true, or they promote their own destruction. Some big puzzle pieces don’t fit together, cognitive dissonance wherever you look. I refuse to just believe those who believe whatever only for the comfort of having closure. You either know something or you don’t.

      • Well of course this particular conspiracy theory is nonsense, just as it was when propagated by the Nazis. If the media were really controlled by Jews, how could the majority of them (so far as I can judge) be so anti-Zionist and generally anti-Jewish?

Regarding the wider view that “the Jews run everything”, if fourteen million people are clever enough to control a planet of nearly eight billion, they must be cleverer than the rest of us put together, so maybe we should let them get on with it… except that whoever is/are in charge, seem to be intent on running the whole system into the ground, which would, I suspect, especially endanger minorities who are particularly resented. My brain hurts…

        • There are some factors which make this not so cut and dried, e.g. ownerships. Their presence at least in banking and the financial world is no secret. And money always exerts influence. But as said, not subsribing to any particular theory, there is more than one possible way. If the influence comes from a different source, then one wonders all the same. If it cannot be proven that there is any such influence, it is even more remarkable how once (believed to be) free media in multiple countries arrive at mainstreaming their narratives like that, and promote developments which will bring about their own demise and everything around them. If democracies are still assumed to be mostly functioning, then these media are instrumental in shaping the governments that will be elected. Everything is interconnected and interdependent with everything else. But there are ways and means of manipulation available to those who understand networks. Which leads back to the sources of money.

  2. Canadian policy is not a mistake. It is a blunder. The nation is starting to undergo Heinleinian “Bad Luck”.

  3. The dismembered body of a woman was found tied to railway tracks in Uzbekistan, the woman was a dancer and it happened the other day. It is not yet known exactly who killed her, but, according to most local residents, she was constantly threatened by religious young people demanding that she stop dancing. In general, recently, for many aggressive young people in Uzbekistan, it has simply turned into a “national sport” to look for hidden prostitutes, gays and others, in Western clothes they can beat a person, or even kill him. This incident happened in the Namangan region in the Pap district in the village of Sang. Today it is known that a woman tied to a rail was torn in two by a train. This is another proof that in Uzbekistan the stability that observers recently spoke about in relation to this country is coming to an end. According to Uzbek expert Anvar Nazirov, there will be many such cases now, because the authorities, in the face of economic problems and total corruption, decided to play on religious emotions, achieving rapid popularity by providing religious circles with unprecedented freedoms. The latter, however, decided to take advantage of this privilege in order to oust the authorities and pave the way for the future Islamic state. As for how this very Islamic state is understood by local currents of political Islam, then the leaders of these currents do not hide the fact that their ideal is the Taliban, Ramzan Kadyrov, or even Al-Qaeda. This is such a rattling mess.”
