9.4%: UK Inflation Surges to 40-Year High… Food Up 9.8%, Fuel 42.3%

LONDON (AP) — Inflation in the United Kingdom has accelerated to a new 40-year high, driven by rising food and fuel prices that are contributing to a cost-of-living crisis.

Consumer prices rose 9.4% this year through June, up from 9.1% the previous month, the Office for National Statistics said Wednesday. The new figure is the highest since 1982, when inflation peaked at 11%.

Against Its Own Advice, EU Gives Employees Inflation-Matched Pay Rise

European Commission staff have been granted an automatic pay raise to match the current levels of inflation, despite the rise being against prior Commission advice to national governments.

Inflation has drastically increased across the European Union in recent months, with some countries experiencing over eight per cent inflation, increasing the costs of goods and services for everyday citizens. The European Commission has warned member states that giving automatic payrises to employees risks turbocharging inflation and should be avoided.

Poll: 3 Out of 4 Middle Class Families Are Falling Behind as Prices Rise

(The Center Square) — Three out of 4 middle class households report falling behind the rising cost of living as inflation continues to soar., according to a new poll.

Primerica released the report, which found that 75% of middle-income families “say their income is falling behind the cost of living,” an eight-point rise since March. The poll found only 16% of those surveyed think they will be better off financially in a year.

Surveyed American middle-income families cited inflation as a top concern. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ latest federal inflation data showed a 9.1% increase in consumer prices in the past year and a rise in the producer price index of more than 11%, nearly the highest ever recorded.

Arizona District Accused of ‘Intimidation’ After Publicly Exposing Names of Parents Requesting Records

FIRST ON FOX — An Arizona district decision to publicly release the names of parents requesting records, including the nature of the request, on its official website, led to accusations the district was trying to humiliate them. Parents have since experienced online harassment following the disclosures.

The Scottsdale Unified School District claimed the move was for the sake of transparency — but it did not intend to publish the actual documents requested when they are fulfilled — only “the name of the requesting party, the request made and the status.”

The district also said the policy would be effective July 1, but up to 10 months of parents’ names were originally released in the rollout.

Biden Appears to Say He Has Cancer; White House Clarifies

(The Center Square) — During a climate speech in Massachusetts Wednesday, President Joe Biden appeared to say he has cancer.

“That’s why I and so damn many other people I grew up with have cancer and why for the longest time Delaware had the highest cancer rate in the nation,” Biden said, referring to emissions from oil refineries near his childhood home in Delaware.

But a White House spokesperson later clarified that Biden was referring to having non-melanoma skin cancers removed before he took office.

It initially was unclear whether this was an admission of Biden’s health status or a verbal flub where the president was trying to say that he “has had” cancer in the past.

DC Reports Highest Rate of Monkeypox Cases in the Nation

Washington, D.C., has the highest per-capita rate of monkeypox cases of any city in the United States, according to health officials.

As of Sunday, the capital had 122 confirmed cases of the disease, The Hill reported. Deadly Garfield Heights Home Explosion Caused by Manufacturing of Explosives

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) — The State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigative Bureau has determined that a Garfield Heights home explosion that killed three people last month was caused by the manufacturing of explosives.

Firefighters responded to the home at 4930 E. 81st St. on June 12 upon reports of an explosion. Firefighters found only debris when they arrived. The adjacent homes had caught fire. Three people inside the home were initially reported missing.

Investigators say firefighters located remnants of cardboard tubes, consistent with the manufacturing of explosive devices in the basement of the home. Investigators also found fuses, equipment and chemicals associated with the manufacturing of explosives.

State Fire Marshal Forensic Lab Bureau Chief Chad Wissinger said, “The materials recovered from the scene are used in the manufacturing of M-series type explosive devices, which contain higher amounts of explosive powders than what is typically found in consumer-grade fireworks.”

Fire investigators say the official cause will remain undetermined pending the final report from the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner…

The law, which allows residents who can legally purchase and possess a firearm to conceal and carry one outside the home without a permit, was signed by Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb on March 21. The legislation, which was passed by Indiana’s Republican controlled legislature earlier in March, went into effect on July 1, 16 days before a gunman opened fire on shoppers in a shopping mall.

Lawyers for Tabri, of Arlington, Va., said the green card holder has been in the U.S. since he was 6 years old. A longer sentence, which he and the others faced under the original arson charges that carried a minimum sentence of seven years in prison, could have sent him to a country where he knew no one and didn’t speak the language, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Police: Security Guard Stabs Man Over Trespassing Argument, Hides Knife Under Bag of Chips

SEATTLE, Wash. (KOMO) — A security guard has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a man outside of a Washington business Monday afternoon after asking the man to leave private property.

Multiple people called 911 just after 2:30 p.m. Monday, saying the security guard stabbed the man in the 1600 block of Broadway in Seattle.

Officers say they got to the scene and found the victim, a 25-year-old man, stabbed near his collarbone. Seattle Fire Department medics rushed the man to Harborview Medical Center. He was in stable condition.

The investigation soon revealed the 57-year-old security guard initially talked to the victim about drinking and trespassing on private property outside of the business. Police say the guard escalated the confrontation and it became a physical fight before stabbing the man.

Truckers Protesting California’s AB5 Block Port of Oakland

Beginning yesterday and continuing into today, truckers protesting against California’s AB5 have essentially blockaded the Port of Oakland. They have used their trucks to block entrances to the port’s terminals. The protests are gaining momentum, with the growing crowd of truckers now saying, “Cargo won’t flow until AB5 goes.”

AB5 is a law that seeks to classify more workers as employees rather than independent contractors. It established a three-prong test to determine whether a worker is an independent contractor, and it’s generally believed that truckers who are currently independent owner-operators would not pass that test and would be required to be classified as employees. It was passed in 2019, but court challenges have meant it is taking effect only now for truckers.

Elites Want US to Eat Bugs: Montrealers Take a Taste Test

A new ideology that governments want to indoctrinate citizens with is one claiming that if we want to save the planet, we will have to turn to alternative sources of protein. Alternative sources such as insects, of course.

The World Economic Forum has even produced a video explaining the so-called benefits of this new diet. Ideas that have sprouted in the heads of the elites for the purpose of imposing restrictions on the population when will only do the opposite.

But is the population going to embrace entomophagy, the practice of eating insects, and forget about actual meat forever?

We visited downtown Montreal and the Old Port to ask people what their opinion was when it comes to eating insects and to see how they react to the challenge of eating a grasshopper.

Amsterdam Reacts: What Do Locals in the Capital City Think About the Dutch Farmer Protests?

After spending roughly two weeks covering the farmer protests throughout the Netherlands, a theme with locals from the northern and more rural parts of the Netherlands was that they believed the people in Amsterdam are not exactly aware as to why these protests are happening.

For those who don’t know, farmers and their supporters have been protesting the Dutch government’s environmental policies on nitrogen emission. The farmers believe that these new policies are going to completely decimate the agricultural sector in the Netherlands.

We went to ask the locals of Amsterdam what their thoughts were on the ongoing protests and how they feel about the situation in general. The answers we got surprised us, as it seemed that most people we interviewed understand there is something not right with these environmental policies and simply understood why the farmers are protesting.

The Pro-Ukraine Front in Germany is Crumbling

The first cracks in the anti-Russia united front are beginning to appear in the German political landscape. Saxon Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer, from the CDU, was the first to come out publicly and contradict the official line of the parties in the Bundestag, according to which Ukraine should continue to be supported without ifs and buts and the course of sanctions against Russia should be maintained.

Kretschmer believes that the war in Ukraine is too high an economic risk for Germany and Europe. One must recognize that the war is pushing the entire world, and Europe in particular, towards chaos, he said on Tuesday. If it continues as before, there is a risk of Germany losing economic strength that is necessary to organize security and remain competitive.

Kretschmer said that the current public debate was totally “one-sided” and stressed that the war was becoming a huge burden for Germans. “We need negotiations as soon as possible now, the war must be frozen,” Kretschmer demanded.

Victor Lafay (26) dropped out on the 13th stage of the Tour de France, after the Frenchman from Cofidis, who has been tipped as a possible candidate for a win, said that by the sixth stage victory was no longer possible. There are 21 stages in the cycling competition.

In front of the Eurosport camera, Lafay said he could not keep up with the peloton and ended up alone. The interviewer asked him if he was ill. “Yes, I’m ill. I’m not the only one in the peloton. I spoke to Castro [Jonathan Castroviejo, editor] at the start and he told me that he wasn’t feeling well either.”

Lafay added: “He came to me and asked me, ‘Are you sick? Do you also suffer from breathing problems? I have great difficulty breathing. I feel like I’m not getting enough oxygen. I have pain everywhere, in my legs and so on. I have no strength and it’s getting worse with each stage’,” according to the cyclist.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has told the three remaining candidates to replace Boris Johnson as Tory leader and ultimately as Prime Minister in September that they should walk back promises of tax cuts as they should be focussing on spending more money on the green agenda.

Globalists at the IMF have intervened in the UK political system to ensure that the Build Back Better green agenda continues no matter who comes into power after Boris Johnson leaves office. Britain’s mission chief for the globalist institution, Mark Flanagan, said that financing tax cuts with more debt “would be a mistake”.

India: Shiva Kanwariya Camp in Delhi’s Seelampur Area Desecrated by Meat Throwing by Suspected Muslim Miscreants, Hindus Jammed Gt Road

To hurt religious sentiment, piece of meat thrown in Shiva Kanwar camp at Seelampur in Delhi; fierce ruckus and long road jams in GT Road by Hindu devotees.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | New Delhi | July 19, 2022:: There was a big stir after a piece of meat was found in a Shiva Kanwar camp in Seelampur, North-East Delhi on Tuesday afternoon. A piece of meat was lying near Kanwad camp of Kanwadiyas (devotees carrying Ganga water in a procession by foot from one place to another for worshiping Lord Shiva in the Hindu month of Shravan- Sawan) going to Alwar in Rajasthan with Ganga water from Haridwar. Seeing this, the kanwariyas started a ruckus. Gradually, hundreds of Kanwariyas reached the spot and these people started shouting slogans. A mob of Kanwariyas blocked GT Road at Dharmapura red light signal. The devotees suspected some people of another faith of Jihadi mentality could throw the meat to hurt the Hindu sentiment of the Kanwariyas.

A large number of policemen, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Sain, reached the spot as soon as the matter was reported. He somehow persuaded and removed the Kanwariyas from the road. After assuring the Kanwariyas of appropriate action, a police vehicle was sent along with Kanwariya to Haridwar to retrieve the broken Kanwar. It is believed that some mischievous element did such a thing with the intention of spoiling the atmosphere. The North-East District Police is investigating the whole matter. Senior officials say that legal action will be taken against whoever is found guilty after the investigation.

According to the police, the incident took place at the Kanwar camp near Seelampur metro station. After the start of Sawan month, at present, Kanwariyas of Haryana and Rajasthan are returning to their respective homes via Delhi carrying Ganga water from Haridwar. On Tuesday afternoon at 3.00 pm, a Kanwariya from Alwar, Rajasthan reached the Kanwar camp of Seelampur metro station via Yamuna Vihar. He stayed here to have a meal and rest for a while. He kept his kanwar at one place and went to wash his hands and feet. When he returned after some time, he saw that a piece of meat was lying very near his kanwar. Seeing this, he immediately started crying. The Seelampur areas have been populated by many Bangladeshi and Rohingya Muslims in last couple of years. And these fanatic people usually confront with the Hindu people of the area getting a slightest clue of dispute.

Soon a crowd of Kanwariyas gathered there. Everyone started agitation. The crowd reached the Dharmapura red light signal on GT Road. The road was blocked on both sides. Police immediately reached the spot after getting the information. The victim Kanwaria was talking about breaking his rituals of kanwar Yatra. He said that the person who did this should be caught and handed over to him.

Reaching the spot, Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Sain tried to explain the situation to everyone to normalize the situation. About one-and-a-half hours GT Road was completely closed. Due to this there was a long traffic jam on both sides of the road. The police officers visited the Kanwar camp to start an investigation of the case. The authority had sent a police vehicle along with victim Kanwariya to Haridwar to complete his ritual and it was assured to be brought him back by late night. The entire matter was being investigated with the help of CCTV camera footage.

3 Weeks of Protests in Panama Cause Food, Fuel Shortages

PANAMA CITY — Three weeks of continuous demonstrations and road blockades to protest high fuel and food costs in Panama have begun to cause shortages of some food products, fuel and medicine.

Tankers carrying gas to run the power generation plant cannot arrive. Some 7,000 families have been affected by the reduction of electricity to 11 hours daily.

In Panama’s main wholesale market that supplies both supermarkets and individual consumers, there was little foot traffic Wednesday. Display tables usually stacked high with produce had far less on offer. Some vegetables like lettuce and tomatos, in particular, were in short supply.

Any Arrests So Far in Attacks on Catholic Churches and Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers? Here’s What We Know

An arrest has been made in connection with the arson and vandalism of both a Catholic church and a Methodist church in Bethesda, Maryland, that occurred on July 9 and July 10.

Peter Piringer, a spokesman for the Montgomery County fire department, said that charges have been filed against a juvenile and will be handled in juvenile court, the Washington Post reported.

Father Samuel Giese, pastor of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, told his parishioners the day after the vandalism at Sunday Mass, that he believed the attack was aimed at the church because of its pro-life views.

The attack on the Bethesda parish is one of dozens of acts of vandalism and arson that have targeted Catholic churches and pro-life pregnancy centers across the nation in recent months since reports began circling that Roe v. Wade would be struck down by the Supreme Court — which happened June 24. That ruling delegated authority to the states to regulate abortion.

Some arrests have been made in connection with the vandalism. Here’s what we know so far.
