The European Commission has reversed course, and will allow continued Russian overland transport across Lithuania to the Kaliningrad enclave. To save face, however, the amount of transported goods will be kept within certain limits. The Lithuanians are reportedly unhappy with the decision; a prominent Lithuanian political scientist said that “Russia has apparently managed to strike fear into the European Commission.”

Italy: Inflation at Highest Level in 36 Years
Prices in Italy were 8 percent higher in June than a year earlier, the country’s National Statistics Institute (ISTAT) reported Friday, marking the highest one-month increase in prices in more than three decades.
The year-on-year increase was far higher than in May when prices rose 6.8 percent, which was itself the highest one-month increase since Italy adopted the euro currency in 1999. But the last time prices rose as much in one month as in June was in January 1986, when Italy still used the now-defunct lira as its national currency.

Prime Minister Orban: Only Way to End War Inflation is to End the War
The only way to end wartime inflation is by putting an end to the war, Prime Minister Viktor Orban told public radio on Friday, where he also announced that the government will accelerate the development of the Hungarian armed forces.
Whereas Hungary is officially curbing the price of certain products, wartime inflation can only be dampened temporarily and partially using these means, he said.
Rather than imposing more sanctions, a ceasefire followed by an agreement within a framework for peace negotiations is needed, he added. At the same time, Hungary is alone in taking such a stance, he said.

Action Sought From Justice Department Against Illegal Offshore Sportsbooks
A bipartisan group of 28 U.S. House lawmakers has put the Department of Justice on notice that they’re concerned about illegal sports betting.
Those representatives — 15 Democrats, 13 Republicans — signed a letter sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Wednesday asking that the DOJ “make a concerted effort to fight illegal offshore sportsbooks.”
Since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act in May 2018, legal sports betting has proliferated. According to the American Gaming Association, 30 states and the District of Columbia currently have operators taking bets; five more states have approved it.

Defunding Wuhan: Congress Quietly Bans Federal Funds From Labs in China, Russia and Iran
While U.S. intelligence has been unable in two years to determine for sure if COVID-19 leaked from a Chinese lab, Congress has decided it no longer wants to take the risk of funding medical research at labs controlled by Beijing or other American adversaries.
With little fanfare and in bipartisan fashion, House appropriators quietly amended the 2023 federal budget for health and science agencies on Thursday to ban any funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which U.S. intelligence fears may have been the origin point for the coronavirus pandemic, and other labs like it.
“None of the funds made available by this Act may be made available to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, or any other laboratory located in a country determined by the Secretary of State to be a foreign adversary, including China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran,” reads the amendment approved by the House Appropriations Committee.

Gab Extends Disappearing Posts to All Users
Free speech social platform Gab has revealed a new tactic in fighting off attempts of researchers (presumably tasked with discrediting it) to scrape content posted by users.

Hunter Biden’s hard drive contained an enviable lineup of contacts for top US officials tasked with overseeing the US-China relationship, and at least 10 senior Google executives — raising new questions about the extent to which Joe Biden’s well-connected son could have leveraged his connections for personal profit, The Post has learned.
Many of the top-level government officials would have been in position to help Hunter Biden’s business aspirations in China during father’s term as vice president from 2008 to 2016. More Than 600 US Flights Canceled, Thousands Delayed as July 4th Travel Rush Continues
More than 3,700 domestic flights were delayed and 600-plus were canceled as the Fourth of July weekend got underway, continuing a troubling trend of jammed-up airport service.
As of Saturday evening, there were 3,765 delays on US flights — including in and out of the country — and 612 cancellations, according to the airline tracking service FlightAware.com. That’s nearly triple the daily average of 210 scrapped flights.

Amajor national poll shows voters overwhelmingly opposed to a second presidential run by Joe Biden, with not even one-quarter supporting the incumbent president in a potential second attempt at the White House.
Harvard CAPS—Harris’s June poll shows 71 percent of voters agreeing that “Biden should not run for a second term,” with nearly half of those individuals claiming that he’s a “bad president.”

Nervous Democrats Pray for Anyone But Kamala Harris as 2024 Nominee
Democrats are despairing about the possibility of Kamala Harris becoming the 2024 nominee if President Biden doesn’t seek a second term in office, insiders told The Post.
Three polls just this month show more than 50% of Americans hold an unfavorable view of Harris, and those headwinds will likely only increase should Republicans retake the House next year.
“Her main problem is not being a woman or mixed race, her problem is she has low ratings just like President Biden,” said Larry Sabato, a professor of Politics at the University of Virginia. “If Biden were riding sky high, she would be doing relatively well as well. New York City has found itself in the grips of a hair-losing Rogaine shortage, with untold numbers of balding men finding themselves confronted by empty shelves at chain drug stores like Duane Reade and Walgreens.
A review of more than a dozen chain drug stores by The Post found all but one were completely out of Men’s Rogaine.

One Dead Following ‘Jet Truck’ Explosion During Battle Creek Field of Flight Performance
One person is dead following an explosion during a jet-fueled semitruck pyrotechnic performance Saturday at Battle Creek Executive Airport.
Emergency crews responded after the explosion occurred during the 1:10 p.m. performance by the Shockwave Jet Truck. In a release, the city confirmed the accident resulted in one death.
The Battle Creek Fire Department, Battle Creek Police Department, and Federal Aviation Administration are at the scene investigating, and there is no other information about the driver at this time.
“He was doing his show and going down the runway,” said Suze Gusching, media relations for Field of Flight. “He passed by the explosion, and his truck had exploded.”

Spokane Police Chief: Washington State Crime Policies ‘Are Wreaking Havoc’
Spokane Police Chief Craig Meidl said learning that one of his officers had been shot and was being rushed to the hospital caused a flurry of emotions.
“Fear. Anger. Sadness. Frustration. I felt them all,” he told The Center Square.
Meidl is relieved that Spokane Officer Kris Honaker has been released from the hospital following the June 26 shooting and is expected to make a full physical recovery. However, he said the trauma of the incident is something that will stay with the officer for years, or forever.

Thousands Poisoned at Pearl Harbor Due to Multiple Failures, Report Finds
The 2021 jet fuel leak into Pearl Harbor’s water supply system was caused by human error, miscommunication and management lapses. The Department of the Navy investigative report was released by the service Thursday.
The Navy report explained how nearly 20,000 gallons of JP5 contaminated the Hawaii naval base drinking water, poisoning thousands of sailors and their families…
Initial estimates pegged the amount of leaked fuel at around 1,000 gallons. That estimate was later raised to around 1,600 gallons, of which they believed all but about 40 gallons had been recovered. Thus, no sense of urgency was attached to the reports filed about the incident.

Twitter Censors Post Editorial Board Member for Months
A New York Post Editorial Board member has been blocked by Twitter for months, in what he says is punishment for the paper’s decision to publish Hunter Biden’s hard drive.
“I think they are being spiteful,” said Michael Benjamin, 64. “Like this guy works at The Post and we’re not going to accommodate him no matter what he says.”
Benjamin — a former state Assemblyman and a registered Democratic — was booted from Twitter in March after tweeting a sarcastic quip about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to his 7,200 followers.
“I’m being picked on by Twitter because I work for a conservative news outlet,” he said.

Pete Arredondo, the chief of police of the Uvalde, Tx., school district, resigned from the city council of that town this week, according to media reports on Saturday.
The Uvalde Leader-News reported on the resignation on Saturday, quoting Arredondo as saying that he had “decided to step down as a member of the city council for District 3.”

Youngkin Opens Office to Review Virginia Regulations, Commits to 25% Reduction
To push forward with his commitment to reduce Virginia’s regulatory burden by 25%, Gov. Glenn Youngkin is creating an office that will review existing regulations and expand regulatory transparency.
Youngkin signed Executive Order 19 to create the Office of Regulatory Management. This office will streamline the regulatory review process by subjecting agencies to its oversight. The executive order directs the new office to implement a 25% reduction in regulatory requirements.

Canada’s Government Tracked Citizens Through a Federal Weather App
Canada’s Department of Environment’s weather app tracked the location of its 715,000 users. The department claims the data collected is protected under the Privacy Act.
Through an inquiry, it was revealed that the Department of Environment and Climate Change’s WeatherCAN app collected location data as well as other personal information like email addresses, reported Blacklock’s.

Canadian comic Nick Nemeroff has died at age 32.
News of Nemeroff’s passing was confirmed on his official Instagram page Monday. Alongside three photos of the star, a statement began: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother Nick Nemeroff.”
“Nick’s dedication to standup comedy was formidable, and produced amazing results. Biden Asks Congress to Approve NATO Bids From Finland, Sweden
Finland and Sweden took one step closer to full membership in NATO as President Biden formally asked Congress to approve the alliance’s expansion in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The White House on Saturday released two letters that Biden sent to key congressional committees, along with two separate reports on the Scandinavian nations’ fitness to join the defensive group after seven decades of neutrality.
The president’s missives formally launched the “advise and consent” process that NATO requires each member to undertake before new members can be added.

Denmark’s Leader Apologizes for Botched Mink Cull During Pandemic
When Denmark ordered the culling of its entire population of mink in late 2020 over fears that a mutated version of the coronavirus that had infected mink could diminish the effectiveness of vaccines, millions of animals were killed and farmers were left reeling by a financial burden that Danish taxpayers ultimately will shoulder.

EU Sanctions: Commission to Allow Russia to Resume Transports to Kaliningrad
It is a dispute that goes beyond a mere confrontation between the European Union and Russia. Should Moscow be allowed to transport goods like steel and aluminum through EU member state Lithuania to the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad — even though those goods are on the sanctions list?
DER SPIEGEL has learned that the European Commission intends to publish a clarification on the issue in the coming days. Its key message will be that Moscow will be allowed to use the transit route for all goods, but only limited amounts.
The move will put an end to a disagreement that had not only been a significant source of tension between Russia and Brussels — but also exposed deep rifts within the EU regarding the correct approach to Moscow.
Since June 17, Lithuania has been blocking shipments of goods such as construction materials, metal and coal into Kaliningrad on the strength of EU sanctions imposed on Russia in response to the country’s invasion of Ukraine. The ban has affected the rail line between Moscow and Kaliningrad in addition to deliveries by road. Air and sea routes are not affected by the sanctions.
Comparable to Pre-Invasion Deliveries
In Russia’s view, it amounts to a “blockade,” and it is criticized on a daily basis in the country. Indeed, an all-out military invasion has been among the responses discussed on state television.
The European Commission clarification expressly applies to all EU member states, but it mostly only affects the situation in Kaliningrad. According to the document, Russia will be allowed to transport sanctioned goods to Kaliningrad, but only in amounts comparable to pre-invasion deliveries.

France Bans Use of ‘Steak,’ ‘Sausage’ to Describe Vegetarian Products
Plant-based meat alternatives will have to come up with new terminology in France. The country adopted a measure banning plant-based products from using the same names as food from dead animals.
France will become the first European Union country to ban the use of words like “steak” and “sausage” from being applied to plant-based food, according to an official decree published on Thursday. The ban, which was originally agreed to in 2020, will go into effect in October.
“It will not be possible to use sector-specific terminology traditionally associated with meat and fish to designate products that do not belong to the animal world and which, in essence, are not comparable,” the official decree reads.

Germany Risks a Cascade of Utility Failures, Economy Chief Says
(Bloomberg) — Germany should prepare for deeper cuts in Russian gas supplies because President Vladimir Putin is pursuing a conscious strategy of driving up prices to undermine European unity, Economy Minister Robert Habeck said.
“We aren’t dealing with erratic decisions but with economic warfare, completely rational and very clear,” Habeck, the deputy chancellor in Olaf Scholz’s government, said Saturday on a panel. “After a 60% reduction, the next one logically follows.”

Trump Threatened Trade War With Sweden Over A$AP Rocky’s Arrest in 2019: Report
Donald Trump threatened to start a trade war with Sweden in 2019 over the arrest of Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky, the Nordic country’s longtime justice minister claimed this week.
In an interview with Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter Morgan Johansson said the 45th president warned “trade restrictions” would be slapped on the country if Rocky — whose real name is Rakim Mayers — was not released.
Rocky was arrested in July 2019 and held in jail for a month after being involved in a fight prior to a scheduled appearance at a Stockholm music festival.
Trump quickly came to the “L$D” rapper’s defense, posting on Twitter that he would “personally vouch” for Rocky’s bail — even though the Scandinavian country does not allow the practice of posting bail.

Alexander Lukashenko says missiles targeting military facilities were intercepted
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Saturday Ukraine had tried to strike military facilities on Belarusian territory three days ago, but all its missiles had been intercepted, the state-run Belta news agency reported.
Lukashenko, who did not provide evidence for the claim, said Belarus did not want war with Ukraine, but would fight if its own territory was invaded.

Swiss Policy Research Gives Their “No-Nonsense Analysis of the Ongoing Ukraine War” After 120 Days
…Although Russia has had the upper hand in Eastern Ukraine, it remains uncertain if the current Russian military strategy will be viable in the longer run…
In terms of military losses, it is estimated that by late June, Ukraine may have lost about 20,000 soldiers, Russia about 5,000 soldiers, and the Donbas republics about 10,000 soldiers (deaths only, not including wounded and captured soldiers)…
In terms of war crimes, the current situation is in stark contrast to claims by Western media and Western governments, as most war crimes have been committed not by the Russian side, but by the Ukrainian side. This includes many major war crimes blamed on the Russian side, such as the infamous Bucha massacre, the Mariupol theater bombing, or the Kramatorsk railway station bombing. Other supposed Russian war crimes were simply made up by Ukrainian officials, such as allegations of systematic rape and mass looting.
Yet other events were taken out of context, such as the alleged Russian bombing of Ukrainian schools and hospitals or shopping centers, which in almost all cases had been turned into Ukrainian military bases or ammunition depots. In other cases, civilian buildings supposedly destroyed by Russian missiles were in fact destroyed by Ukrainian air-defense missiles (e.g. in Kiev) or Ukrainian artillery missiles (e.g. in Borodyanka northwest of Kiev).
In yet other cases, Ukrainian forces, poorly disguised as Russian forces, executed Ukrainian civilians who welcomed the false “Russian liberators”; Western media then presented the Ukrainian execution as a Russian war crime. In even other cases, the Ukrainian bombing of Donbas cities was presented as the Russian bombing of Ukrainian cities.
In the case of Bucha, the bodies seen in the streets were victims of Ukrainian shelling of residential areas during the Russian occupation and retreat, and of subsequent Ukrainian executions of “collaborators” (hence the many white armbands, a sign of friendly status during Russian occupation). The bodies were then presented as victims of a supposed “Russian massacre”…
In the case of the recent Kremenchuk shopping center incident, the Ukrainian government claimed a Russian missile hit a shopping center with 1,000 people inside; in reality, the Russian missiles hit an adjacent military plant and the shopping center was either closed (non-operational) or almost empty (perhaps repurposed during the war). However, one of the Russian missiles hit railroad tracks between the military plant and the shopping center, which then caught fire and burnt down…
On the Ukrainian side, documented war crimes encompass mass torture and mass executions, both against prisoners of war and their own people (if deemed pro-Russian collaborators or sympathizers), including several cases of decapitation; the military use of civilian infrastructure (including schools) and civilians as “human shields”; and large-scale shelling of residential areas behind front lines, especially against the city of Donetsk (in one case even hitting a maternity clinic).

Ukraine and Russia Both Claim Control Over Lysychansk
Ukraine’s eastern city of Lysychansk is at the centre of competing claims, with both Russian and Ukrainian forces saying they are in control.
Ukraine says its forces are enduring intense Russian shelling there but insists the city has not been seized.
However, Russian-backed separatists say they have successfully entered the city and reached its centre.
Russian media showed videos of separatist or Russian forces apparently parading through the streets.
Russian sources have also tweeted video of the Soviet flag allegedly being placed on the city’s ruined administrative centre, but that has not been verified.

Dutch MP Geert Wilders, who had come out in support of Nupur Sharma, has now spoken out against the murder of the tailor in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Now, the killing of the tailor has also sparked a reaction from the international community.
Geert Wilders, who is an MP from the Netherlands, had earlier caught the limelight in India when he came out in support of former BJP leader Nupur Sharma, who was suspended from the party after she made certain objectionable remarks on Prophet Muhammad.
Now, the Dutch MP has come forward to speak out against the killing of Sahu in a brutal and horrific way inside his own shop in Udaipur. Wilder said that India needs to “stop being tolerant to intolerance,” and to defend Hinduism against extremism.
Taking to his Twitter handle, the Netherlands MP said, “Please India as a friend I tell you: stop being tolerant to the intolerant. Defend Hinduism against the extremists, terrorists, and jihadists. Don’t appease Islam, for it will cost you dearly. Hindus deserve leaders that protect them for the full 100%.”

Wilders, who is a far-right leader from the Netherlands, also tweeted, “Hindus should be safe in India. It is their country, their homeland, it’s theirs! India is no Islamic nation.” The Dutch MP had earlier spoken out in support of Nupur Sharma, saying that she had only “spoken the truth”.
On Tuesday (28/06/2022) evening, a man named Kanhaiya Lal Sahu was hacked to death by two Muslim men inside his tailoring shop, which was located in a busy Udaipur market in Rajasthan. The entire ordeal was filmed by the assailants and the video of the killing was uploaded online.
Following the killing of Sahu, massive protests erupted in Rajasthan against the government and the police. Kanhaiya Lal was reportedly killed by the Muslim men for uploading a Facebook post that supported former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.
A curfew has been imposed in Udaipur following the tailor’s murder, and CrPC Section 144 has been imposed in Rajasthan for one month to maintain the law and order situation.

It is horrible that Hindu tailor Kanahiya Lal Sahu was hacked to death in his Udaipur shop for a facebook post allegedly supporting expelled BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma in her Prophet remarks row.
On a TV debate on, Nupur pointed out two things about Islamic prophet Muhammad which are clearly mentioned in Quran and Hadith several times without any ambiguity. Nupur’s remarks came in the fore while the Muslims in general and many Muslims debaters were engaged in mocking and abusing Hindu deity Lord Shiva everywhere.
Nupur just pointed out Muhammad’s marriage with his 3rd wife Aaisha (out of 13 wives) at her age of 6 years (betrothed) and consummation at only 9 years (when Muhammad was 53). Nupur also mentioned Muhammad’s journey to Islamic heaven to meet Allah with a ride upon an imagery horse like creature (Burak) with wings and female face. There is no confusion about these unbelievable things as mentioned in Islamic scriptures. However, these sacred things should not come out from the mouth of any unbelievers and so the Muslim society is infuriated to Nupur.
But, what is terrible that some judges in Supreme Court of India took the side of Islamists as in the same way they uttered their Jihadi wrath against Nupur Sharma for telling two bitter truth about Islam.
Supposedly, pro-Islamist and ultra-secular bench of two sitting judges in Supreme Court of India in a vacation bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and Jamshed Burjor Pardiwala fueled the Islamists by their observations as pronounced in the open court.
Justices Surya Kant and Jamshed Burjor Pardiwala may have their Congressi inclination any way (it is known that Justice Pardiwalla’s father was a Congress MLA from Gujarat and speaker of Gujarat Assembly during 1989-90), the attitude expressed by Justices Surya Kanta and Pardiwala.[1][2][3] created an apprehension that such Justice makers are paving the way of making a powerful Sharia Court in place of Supreme Court of India, where any truth about Islam can’t be told anyway!
In the meanwhile, Ajay Gautham, a Delhi-based social activist, and Gau Mahasabha leader, filed a letter petition before the Chief Justice of India (CJI), NV Ramana, seeking withdrawal of “adverse remarks” made by a Supreme Court bench against suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma. Ajay Gautham has sought CJI Ramana’s direction to withdraw the observations made by a vacation bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala so that Nupur Sharma gets a “chance for a fair trial”.
Not only that, one Dr Hitendra Mehta of World Human Right Protection Commission appealed Chief Justice of India to retract the version upon Nupur Sharma by the bench headed by Justice Surya Kant. Mehta wrote, “The observations made by the vacation bench in respect of Nupur Sharma’s case needs a review. A fair trial giving opportunity to all stakeholders to express their views on the alleged controversial matter shall generate lasting trust among all stakeholders”…

UK: Illegal Boat Migrant Crossings Hit Highest Monthly Total for the Year
Illegal migrant crossings of the English Channel have hit their highest monthly total for the year as people-smuggling efforts ramped up during the warmer weather.

The Concerning Rise of GMO Food Animals
The AquAdvantage salmon was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2015… AquAdvantage salmon is sold in Canada, but more than 85 grocery chains, food service companies, restaurants, and seafood companies have pledged to boycott it for both food safety and environmental reasons…
In 2010, researchers created a GMO pig by adding mouse and E. coli phytase genes to its DNA, and the creature was approved in Canada. Dubbed the “Enviropig,” it was said to produce less phosphorus in its urine and feces and be less destructive to the environment but the pigs were killed in 2012 when funding ran out.
In addition to creating animals that are more environmentally friendly or that have better nutritional profiles for human consumption, in 2007, United Kingdom scientists at the Roslin Institute, near Edinburgh, announced that they had produced genetically modified chickens to lay eggs that contain cancer-fighting drugs according to the BBC…
In 2011, scientists at the China Agricultural University introduced human genes into dairy cows to produce milk closer in composition to that of humans. They hoped the milk from GMO cows would be sold in supermarkets and positioned it as an alternative to formula and human breast milk for babies. Soon after, scientists in Argentina also created a cow with human genes to approximate human breast milk, and scientists from New Zealand added a mouse gene to a cow to produce allergy-free milk.
When the human/cow GMO animals were announced, Helen Wallace, executive director of the biotechnology monitoring group GeneWatch UK, told the Telegraph: “We have major concerns about this research to genetically modify cows with human genes.
“There are major welfare issues with genetically modified animals as you get high numbers of stillbirths.” Wallace also questioned whether the milk “could be harmful to some people” with no large clinical trials having been conducted.
