Czech Housing Crisis Accelerates: A New Apartment in Prague Costs 17 Annual Wages

The cost of housing in the Czech capital of Prague continues to soar higher, with a new 70-square-meter apartment in Prague costing the equivalent of 17 years worth of average wages, costing 2.4 years more than last year.

Based on this data, Czechs are facing the most expensive real estate in market relative to their wages, according to analysts at Ceska sporitelna and the “Evropa v datech” web portal. Representatives of both indexes stated this at press conferences on Tuesday.

New Talking Point: ‘Nationalism,’ Immigration Restrictions and Downplaying Jan 6 Are to Blame for 40 Year High INFLATION

Under the Biden administration, Americans are facing record high inflation with the cost of living the highest it has been for forty years. What is to blame? No, apparently the cause of inflation is now ‘nationalism’, having borders and downplaying what happened on January 6th 2021.

That is according to former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and BlackRock CEO Larry Fink.

Larry number one told CNN Sunday that Republicans are really to blame for the woeful economic situation.

As Remix News has previously reported, Salvini’s party has been slipping in the polls, with recent local elections underlining just how unhappy the electorate is over the League’s decision to join forces with parties openly hostile to the League’s fundamental values related to immigration, crime, traditional values, and a certain measure of skepticism of the EU. Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party, which refused to join the coalition government, has been steadily picking up Salvini’s disillusioned supporters.

Ryanair CEO Upset Over Windfall Tax Slams ‘Idiot’ Hungarian Minister

The outspoken CEO of Europe’s largest budget airline, Michael O’Leary, has lashed out at Hungary’s “idiotic” minister for economic development, Marton Nagy, in response to the Hungarian government’s windfall tax on large corporations announced at the end of May.

In an interview with the HVG business news portal published on Monday, Ryanair’s O’Leary criticized the Hungarian government for attempting to intervene in how airlines set their prices for consumers.

“This Marton Nagy is a complete idiot,” O’Leary said. “We cannot understand his argument that an ‘extra-profit special tax’ should be imposed on the aviation industry when we suffered record losses last year due to Covid-19 and the war in Ukraine.

UK Man Jailed for Posting ‘Offensive’ George Floyd Memes in Private Group Chats

A UK man was jailed for 20 weeks for the ‘crime’ of posting offensive George Floyd memes in private WhatsApp and Facebook group chats.

No, this isn’t the Babylon Bee.

Former police officer James Watts found himself in hot water after another person left the group chat and sicked a social media mob on him by tweeting some of the images along with the message, “Former work colleague now serving police officer sent these in group chat. What hope is there in police in the UK sharing these.”

After having his phone seized and being placed under investigation, 31-year-old Watts was subsequently charged with “sending grossly offensive messages.”

Russia-Ukraine War: What Happened Today (June 15)

As Wednesday draws to a close in Kyiv and in Moscow, here are the key developments of the day:

The Biden administration has committed an additional $1 billion in security assistance to Ukraine, though the aid falls short of Ukrainian leaders’ recent demands as they warn their fighters remain outgunned by Russia. The new U.S. military package is expected to include more howitzers and artillery rounds as well as two ground-based Harpoon anti-ship missile launchers. Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley also said some 60 Ukrainian troops have completed training on long-range rocket systems, which will be on the battlefield “in a few weeks.”

Planned evacuations of civilians from the besieged Ukrainian city of Sievierodonetsk appear to have been disrupted, as Russia continues to make slow gains around the city. Russia had said it would open a humanitarian corridor from the city on Wednesday. Hundreds of civilians and Ukrainian soldiers are believed to be sheltering at a chemical plant. Russian-backed separatists in the region blamed Ukrainian fighters for disrupting the evacuations, a claim NPR has not been able to independently verify. Sievierodonetsk is the last major city in the eastern Luhansk region still partially under Ukrainian control.

Six million acres of winter crops will not be harvested this year, including wheat and barley planted in the fall, Ukraine’s agriculture ministry said. The government said the unharvested food could be worth as much as $1.4 billion. Ukraine has more than 23 million tons of grain in the country, stuck in storage because Russian warships in the Black Sea are blocking exports. Farmers are expected to begin the wheat and barley harvest in the coming weeks. But without extra storage, many fear the food will go to rot.

In a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, China’s leader Xi Jinping reiterated his country’s support for Russia. “China is willing to continue mutual support with Russia on issues related to sovereignty, security and issues of major concern,” Xi said, according to China’s state broadcaster. China has refrained from condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This was the second call between Xi and Putin since February, when the two countries agreed to a strategic partnership.

The State Department says it is aware of unconfirmed reports that Russian forces have captured two U.S. citizens fighting in Ukraine, and is in touch with Ukrainian authorities about the reports. At the White House, National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said, “We discourage Americans from going to Ukraine and fighting in Ukraine.”

China May be Spying on You Through Your Coffee Maker, Expert Says

China may be using software inside smart coffee makers to spy on owners of the devices, according to a report.

Internet-connected coffee makers that are made in China are just one of many ways China can gather data, according to American researcher Christopher Balding. Balding released a report specifically on the Kalerm machines manufactured in Jiangsu, China.

“China is really collecting data on really just anything and everything,” Balding told the Washington Times. “As a manufacturing hub of the world, they can put this capability in all kinds of devices that go out all over the world.”

Survey: More Than Half of Young People Want to Leave Africa

A new survey of 15 African countries has found that more than half of young people want to leave the continent in the coming years, with the majority of those who emigrate expected to head to Europe.

The African Youth Survey found that 52 per cent expressed a desire to move abroad in the next three years.

That number is significantly higher than a poll taken in 2020, impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which found that two thirds of young Africans wanted to stay in their home countries.

A Pew Research study released in 2018 found that a million sub-Saharan Africans had already moved to Europe since 2010 while another UN survey found that 90 per cent of Africans who had entered Europe illegally had no plans to return to their homelands.

UK: Rwanda: We’re Committed to Asylum Plan, Says Priti Patel

The government remains committed to sending asylum seekers from the UK to Rwanda and plans for future flights have begun, Priti Patel has told MPs.

“We will not be deterred from doing the right thing,” the home secretary said.

The first flight was cancelled minutes before take-off after an intervention by the European Court of Human Rights.

Labour’s Yvette Cooper said the government knew there were “torture and trafficking victims” among those the government planned to put on the plane.

The shadow home secretary called the policy a “shambles” and “shameful”.

The Rwanda asylum plan, announced by the government in April, intends to take some asylum seekers who cross the Channel to the UK on a one-way ticket to Rwanda to claim asylum there instead. The government has said the scheme would discourage others from crossing the Channel.

10 thoughts on “Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/15/2022

  1. “Czechs are facing the most expensive real estate in market relative to their wages, according to analysts at Ceska sporitelna and the “Evropa v datech” web portal.”

The reason why is because Prague is a hundred miles from Germany, but the central bankers of the Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren keep the Czech Crown artificially low, for decades already, and so – the working class in the German factories in the Protectorate can’t ever make worthy wages if compared to Germany. Long story short: It’s the central bankers who created this situation by keeping Czechs poor.

Right now there was an article on ZeroHedge, how the EU is buying up all LNG gas from the world, and how poor countries suffer because of that. Well, that is Exactly the situation between the Czech Republic, and Germany. Germany and Austria are now buying up all Czech wood for cheap, The Czechs who plan wood heating for next winter have trouble to keep up with the Germans, because the Germans are simply making more money, because the Czech Crown is artificially low.

This current Czech government is already known to do absolutely nothing for the Czechs, and everything for everyone else. It smells like a global plan, not just for the Czechs, though.

    • As you state, the Czech government does everything for other people. I would enjoy this because my government too does everything for other people than their own.
And as for people who have more money…. well, it has always been like that. Not only do they buy more wood, they get the hottest ladies too. And if you are working class and entitled to a german wage, be prepared to pay half of it just for the rent and insurances.

      • I believe that German working class people should also expect the Czech Republic to eventually stop electricity supply to Germany, once the Czech people perform another defenestration, because they have a quarter wage when compared to Germany, but pay more for electricity than the Germans, while it is the Czech Nulcear power plants which supply quite a lot of Germans with power these days. Czechs now pay 3 times more for gas than Germans – on quarter wage. This is no joke. The Czechs are being kept artificially poor, and I don’t think the Germans and the Austrians even begin to understand the situation, and it seems like a setup to finally make those blackouts in Germany happen. The “Cut Germany Loose from our Grid” stations have already been build.

  2. Clan fights in Paris would make a great tourist attraction. They should schedule daily and nightly shows, using different famous locations as backdrops. One night, the Louvre. The next day, the Eiffel Tower. Tourist would love it.

  3. In the last century half the Europeans wanted to migrate to Africa. Imagine you were an African Muslim? Who ya gonna call?

  4. Re: Immigration: London dialect English to become dominant linguistic dialect within the UK..
This set me thinking. My (middle-class English) partner’s grandson has a half-Israeli Jewish mother. He, a very decent young man, is a pastor in a Baptist church, and married an American woman of the same faith; they had a son recently. He was raised in Tottenham, north London, a predominantly Afro-Caribbean area, and has the same accent as his black friends, some of whom I met at the engagement party. Is this a bad thing?

  5. Re: “Turkish and Afghan clans fought a street battle in front of a kebab restaurant in a Paris suburb. Meanwhile, according to a recent survey taken across 15 African countries, more than half of young people want to leave Africa and migrate to Europe.”

The “most important graph in the world” shows population trends in Europe and in North-Central Africa and the Middle East. Whereas the population for Europe is barely above replacement levels, and then only because of the fecundity of recent arrivals – the population of Africa and the ME is accelerating upwards into exponential growth.

All of those people will want food, shelter, medical care and all of the conveniences of modern society. And if they can’t get them in their ancestral homelands, they will flood into Europe and points on the compass.

And if it isn’t the sons of Allah who drown Old Europe and its civilization in their sheer numbers, then it will be their non-Muslim colleagues in their multitudes.

The choice must sooner or later become a stark one: If Europe wishes to survive in anything like its present form, it must defend itself against the onslaught. The predicament of today’s Europe is akin to a lifeboat at sea after a ship wreck. That lifeboat – in this case European society -can take on only so many people before it, too, is swamped and sinks.

And not only will the “refugees” and “migrants” – whether genuine in their hardship or not – have to be dealt with, so will the globalists at the EU who have enabled all of this to occur in the first place. If they will not do what is in the best interests of Europe, then the individuals responsible for this crisis (the ones still living, that is) must be replaced by those who will.

And as cruel as this calculus may seem in the short-term, in the long-run it is better for the migrants themselves to return from whence they came, and build functional societies in their homelands. Africa and the Middle East must learn to survive without the rest of the world as a safety valve. This is the cold, hard truth of the matter.

  6. A lot of people think that “incel” extremist involved in the Toronto van attack is actually a Muslim terrorist, and ” incel” is being pushed to cover up the crime. Canada is notorious for attempting to downplay Muslim terrorism.

  7. Native Europeans should offer all Africans a deal: we switch.

All Africans move to Europe. They inherit the buildings, the infrastructure, the art, the treasure and all the other things they claim the Europeans earned off Africa’s back.

Everything, except the nukes. Those go with us to Africa, along with our sense of order, discipline, work ethic, ambition, adaptability, intellect and creativity.

The caveat: there’s no switching back.

You want Africa back after you’ve reduced Europe to a smoldering third-world hellhole similar to the one you fled a few years ago?

    Not going to happen.

This time we’ll defend our borders.

Good thing we brought those nukes.
