Cost of Living Crisis Caused by Coronavirus Lockdowns, Not Ukraine, UK Parliament Told

The rampant inflation and cost of living crisis is mostly the result of the decision to lock down the economy rather than the oft-blamed war in Ukraine, British lawmakers have been told.

The drastic move — inspired by Communist Chinese policies — to shut down the British economy during the coronavirus crisis is the primary cause of the economic disaster befalling the country, a meeting of the Pandemic Response and Recovery All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) heard this week.

A Call to Arms: Teachers in Conservative States Are Volunteering to Carry Guns

Authored by Darlene MCormick Sanchez (emphasis ours)

Crosses and flowers laid out in the public square of the grief-stricken town Uvalde, where a teen gunman killed 19 students and two teachers, are an all-too-familiar scene igniting a call to arms for teachers in Texas and beyond.

The Republican-led Texas legislature is addressing the twin issues of school safety and mass violence following the May 24 Uvalde, Texas, school shooting. Committees of lawmakers are reviewing past legislative efforts, such as the Guardian and Marshal programs that allow teachers to carry firearms in the hopes of hardening schools as targets. School officials and firearm trainers in the Lone Star State say interest has risen sharply since the recent shooting.

Jeff Sellers owns Schools on Target, a company in Marble Falls, Texas, that trains teachers to carry firearms in schools. Since the school shooting, Sellers told The Epoch Times that he has added nine additional classes—double the amount customarily held—for June through August.

Bannon Dares Merrick Garland to Indict Trump

Democratic pundit and former Republican Ron Filipkowski took to Twitter today to post a clip of Steve Bannon “fuming about a criminal indictment of Trump.”

Because we’re gonna win in Nov. and we’re gonna impeach you and everybody around you! F*ck — screw the WH — we’re gonna impeach you!”

DeSantis Aims to Target Gun “Lunatics”, Not Guns

Authored by Jannis Falkenstern via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours)

Gov. Ron DeSantis said he wants to focus on gun “lunatics” rather than targeting Second Amendment rights when it comes to preventing mass shootings.

“When you’re dealing with [gun-related crime] … you focus on the criminal,” he said at a June 8 press conference.

“You focus on the lunatic—you don’t kneecap the rights of law-abiding citizens.”

FBI Chief Comey Misled Congress’ “Gang of 8” Over Russiagate, Lisa Page Memo Reveal

Authored by Paul Sperry via RealClear Investigations

The FBI deceived the House, Senate and the Justice Department about the substance and strength of evidence undergirding its counterintelligence investigation of President Trump, according to a recently declassified document and other material.

A seven-page internal FBI memo dated March 8, 2017, shows that “talking points” prepared for then-FBI Director James Comey for his meeting the next day with the congressional leadership were riddled with half-truths, outright falsehoods, and critical omissions. Both the Senate and the House opened investigations and held hearings based in part on the misrepresentations made in those FBI briefings, one of which was held in the Senate that morning and the other in the House later that afternoon. RealClearInvestigations reached out to every member of the leadership, sometimes known as the “Gang of Eight.” Some declined to comment, while others did not respond to queries.

‘Made-for-TV’ Jan. 6 Hearings Are Ratings Disaster

After throwing two impeachments and a Russia hoax at Donald Trump, Congressional Democrats’ latest political theater against the former president — produced by a former TV exec for prime time — is a ratings disaster.

Their unifying theory seems to be that Trump masterminded a rag-tag mob of (fed infiltrated) groups, which ‘stormed’ the capital (through doors that were opened for them), then sauntered into various parts of the Capital — some even engaging in mayhem, in an ‘attempt to subvert Democracy’ and, we suppose, topple the US government?

Police Identify Suspect in Separate Subway Slashings in Queens

A 55-year-old man was stabbed in the neck Saturday morning while he waited for his train to arrive, police say.

For commuters who frequently use this high-volume station at Roosevelt Avenue, the violent incident hits too close for comfort.

“The city used to be very safe before, right?!” Senita Sharma, an Elmhurst resident, said. “I don’t know what’s happening these days. Everywhere! We are all tired and this should be prevented.”

Police later identified 32-year-old Donny Ubiera, a Bayside resident, as the person responsible for the unprovoked attack.

According to police, he is also responsible for a similar slashing Friday morning on a southbound 7 train at Queensboro Plaza.

The victims in both incidents are in stable condition, police say.

Ubiera has been arrested at least 19 times since 2011, including three arrests earlier this year, police say.

Charges against him include criminal possession of a weapon.

Martha Gonzalez, a Jackson Heights resident, said she often sees police officers by the subway entrance, but believes a greater presence is needed on platforms, hallways, and on trains.

“You don’t have the police downstairs,” Gonzalez said. “This week, I got into a problem with one homeless when I came to buy my ticket. He said, ‘Give me money!’“…

France: Houellebecq Intervenes in Nonfiction

Michel Houellebecq’s distinctly French presence in American cultural discourse, to say nothing of American bookshelves, is a fact. His work has managed to infiltrate both sides of our culture war, if not for the same reasons. Generally, if you are on the Right, Houellebecq is the great prophet of civilizational malaise. If you are on the Left, he is, at best, the great satirist of civilizational chauvinism. But as with every culture-war flashpoint, neutrality is deemed contemptible. Indeed, even if he was being somewhat tongue-in-cheek, there was some truth to Ross Douthat’s 2019 assertion that “the most important novelist of the millennial era is 63 years old and lives in France.” That fact assures the further proliferation of anything Houellebecq commits or has committed to paper.

Interventions 2020 is the second sequel of a collection of essays and interviews that has been revised and expanded since 1999. This is the first version to be translated into English, comprising pieces published between 1992 and 2020. It boasts an array of subjects of great depth and provocation.

Russia Controls Most of Severodonetsk, Governor Says

Ukraine, on the brink of losing the eastern region of Luhansk to Russia, is warning that its outgunned military desperately needs faster deliveries of Western arms. Fierce street fighting is continuing in the strategic city of Severodonetsk, but “most of the city is controlled by Russians,” the Luhansk governor said Saturday. An adviser to Ukraine’s government said its forces could respond with only about one artillery round for every 10 fired by Russia.

The fighting continues despite about 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers already having died during the invasion, a Ukrainian military adviser said Saturday. Ukraine recently noted that between 100 and 200 soldiers are killed each day.

Meanwhile, President Biden said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “didn’t want to hear” U.S. warnings of a potential Russian attack before the invasion began, according to the Associated Press. Ukrainian officials have objected to Biden’s claim.

Here’s what else to know

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met with Zelensky in Kyiv on Saturday to discuss Ukraine’s E.U. candidacy, ahead of an expected recommendation from the commission on Ukraine’s status next week.

Speaking via video at the Shangri-La Dialogue, a key annual security summit in Singapore, Zelensky said that it’s “too late” to persuade Russia to end its invasion, saying it’s up to the world to put Russia “in its place.”

Ukraine’s attorney general said the deaths of 24 more children have been recorded in the southern city of Mariupol, bringing the confirmed number of children killed in Ukraine since the war began to 287. The United Nations says it has confirmed the deaths of 274 children. Both totals have been acknowledged as incomplete.

Ukrainian Army Lost Up to 10,000 Fighters in the First 100 Days of the War, Says Zelenskyy’s Advisor

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s advisor said that the Ukrainian army had lost up to 10,000 fighters in the first 100 days of the war. Oleksiy Arestovych, in a social media interview, estimated the Russian army is losing on average five to six times as many fighters as the Ukrainian side. When asked whether this suggested the Ukrainian army had lost up to 10,000 fighters in the first 100 days of the war, Arestovych said, “Yes, something like that.”

Meanwhile, Ukraine is pleading to Western countries for faster deliveries of weapons as better-armed Russian forces pounded the east of the country, and for humanitarian support to combat growing outbreaks of deadly diseases. “This is an artillery war now,” Vadym Skibitsky, Ukraine’s deputy head of military intelligence, told Britain’s Guardian newspaper. “Everything now depends on what (the West) gives us. Ukraine has one artillery piece to 10 to 15 Russian artillery pieces.”

In Sievierodonetsk, the small city that has become the focus of Russia’s advance in eastern Ukraine and one of the bloodiest flashpoints in a war well into its fourth month, further heavy fighting was reported. To the south, the mayor of Mariupol said sanitation systems were broken and corpses were rotting in the streets…

What Global Warming? Australia Endures Record Breaking Cold

Essay by Eric Worrall

h/t Dr. Willie Soon; Following the recent election of a deep green federal government, and offlining of coal stations, Australia is being slammed by a double whammy of skyrocketing green energy bills and extreme cold.

Proof you aren’t going soft: Australian city is now shivering through its coldest start to winter since 1904 — as cold weather records tumble, snow falls on beaches… and it’s not over yet

Antarctic cold snap is sending record tumbling as temperatures plummet

Brisbane braced for its coldest day since 1904 as polar winds blast Australia

Sydney and Melbourne also set for their coldest start to winter in decades

By KEVIN AIRS FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA

Brisbane will shiver through its coldest start to winter in more than 100 years as Australia’s brutal big freeze sends records tumbling.

An icy polar blast will see forecast temperatures plummet int every major city except Perth to lows not seen in decades.

Bob Hawke was in power the last time Sydney got this cold in 1989, and Brisbane is braced for its worst cold snap since 1904.

There’s not even an escape in the tropical Top End with both Darwin and Cairns forecast to be noticeably cooler than normal this week, while some of Tasmania’s beaches could even see blizzards.

In the snowfields, the history books are being rewritten with the best start to the season in years and more snow on the way thanks to a freezing Antarctic ice storm.

Husband of New Mexico Woman Murdered by Illegal Immigrant Slams Sanctuary Laws: ‘Get-Out-of-Jail-Free Card’

Jacqueline Vigil was killed by an illegal immigrant outside her Albuquerque, New Mexico home in 2019.

Her husband, Sam Vigil, joined “Fox & Friends First” Thursday to call out left-wing policies, like sanctuary cities, for contributing to rising crime.

“Places where laws are soft, like Albuquerque, this does not protect people who come to the U.S. to work but rather those who come to commit crimes,” he said, rejecting Biden’s loose immigration policies.

“For me, it just reminds me about what happened to me, to my wife who was murdered back in 2019 by an alleged illegal immigrant that was in the country. It just brings back all those memories,” he said.

Protestors surrounded the Immigration Enforcement van and even appeared to clash with police following the raid at an estate in Peckham, south east London, this afternoon.

Police were called in to support the Home Office officials after the crowd swelled to more than 100 people — following a social media call to action by left-wing agitators and at least two Labour councillors.

Over $200k Being Spent on Drag Queen Shows at NYC Schools, Records Show

New York is showering taxpayer funds on a group that sends drag queens into city schools — often without parental knowledge or consent — even as parents in other states protest increasingly aggressive efforts to expose kids to gender-bending performers.

Last month alone, Drag Story Hour NYC — a nonprofit whose outrageously cross-dressed performers interact with kids as young as 3 — earned $46,000 from city contracts for appearances at public schools, street festivals, and libraries, city records show.

Since January, the group has organized 49 drag programs in 34 public elementary, middle, and high schools, it boasted on its website, with appearances in all five boroughs.

  1. From Melbourne , Australia. It has been very cold, but could still get worse as we haven’t had a zero degree night yet. I can’t afford to contribute to global warming much as energy is so expensive. We have a small room heater each and I sit with an electronic throw rug on my knees. We have all these new products in the shops which help people keep warm without using heaters; electric throw rugs, thick capes and all in one jumpsuits(like rabbit suit) so we can walk around in OUR HOMES.
Most homes were designed in the days of cheap energy when we thought we were going to be able to burn the 300 years worth of brown coal we have in Gippsland. Now half shut down due to green policies.

  2. The “greens” rather you die out then use cheap coal ,we will all be living like people in 9 century Europe soon.

    • They probably lived better; more days off and certainly lower taxes. Unfortunately they didn’t have Cuckbook, Instagram, or Twatter, 100s of channels of sportsball, or imported violent 3rd world orcs imposed upon you whether you wanted them or not.

  3. I just pointed this “Global Warming” phenomena out o somebody that is a true believer in “Man Made Global Warming”, no matter what evidence to the contrary has been presented to him by a friend of mine over the last 10 years, who is a Glaciologist and Meterologist and spends half of is working adult life in Antartica and knows what he’s talking about (in private).
The Glaciers could cover half of the Planet and this guy would still believe in the narrative that it is getting warmer, he would take this as confirmation.
But on the other hand, he’s also tripple jabbed.

    • Well, it is getting warmer on average; the current event in Australia is an aberration.

The question is whether this is caused by human activity, which I doubt; I daresay that your glaciologist friend is aware of the 120+ active volcanoes under the Antarctic ice sheet, and the mass of moving magma under Greenland (so called because it was when the Vikings got there).

      • Actually, Greenland wasn’t green even then. Erik the Red, who was the first to land there, wanted to promote it so that more people would settle there, so he named it Greenland even though he knew he was fudging the truth. It was like a 10th-century PR stunt.

        • Thanks Baron, I didn’t know that, but I have read (Ian Plimer in “Heaven and Earth” quoting RD Thachuk, “The Little Ice Age”) that “Cattle, sheep and barley were grown in Greenland”, during the Medieval Warming.

Later, “Desperation set in among the Norse colonies in Greenland, where there was a shorter growing season and less grass… and no timber for fires…this was the death knell for the Vikings, who had greater difficulty in escaping from Greenland through the pack ice…most did not escape and the colony of Greenland, once promoted by Erik the Red…was no longer populated by the immigrants.”

  4. It’s hard for a food plant to be “sustainable” when it is prevented by protestors from sustaining deliveries.

I figured this out after an exhaustive analysis of climate records, going back hundreds of years.
