Death at the Border Fence in Melilla

On Friday a large group of African culture-enrichers rushed the border crossing at Spain’s North African enclave of Melilla. This attempt was more aggressive than those on previous occasions, and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez (Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party) referred to it as an “attack” on the country’s territory.

Eighteen migrants died in the attempt, and dozens more were injured. It’s not clear whether the dead and wounded fell off the fence while climbing it, or whether perhaps the border guards fired on them (which seems to me very unlikely at any border in Western Europe). According to this BBC report, at least some of those who died fell from the top of the fence.

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this Spanish news report, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling:

  1. Send them all back !!, enough is enough, Sanchez have to go !!, He as bad as Trudeau and Macron .. what they did to this continent it’s unbelievable..

  2. I watched a report in spanish media(TVE TV channel) that mentioned asphyxia as the cause of the deaths, caused by trampling. To me it seems reasonable to think that a large crowd, trampling upon each other while immigration police is trying to hold the line may have caused those deaths. And if bullets had been the cause the left would have already sounded the “white man bad” alarm.
