ECB’s Digital Euro ‘Dilutes the Value of Money’ And ‘Threatens Privacy’

After ECB President Christine Lagarde spoke out in favor of regulating cryptocurrencies, there is a fresh debate about the digital euro. According to the ECB, this should supposedly be better than Bitcoin. But the opposite is the case, says financial expert Niko Jilch.

In an interview with German daily Die Welt, he said that the top European currency watchdog was scaremongering about Bitcoin “so that we can accept the digital euro as an ‘alternative’ when it comes along”. But the proposed new currency is the opposite of Bitcoin.

The digital euro is often sold as an officially approved Bitcoin alternative, but it is not: “The digital euro is centralized, its future and monetary policy is uncertain and is decided by a council, just like the analog euro.”

Majority of American Families Have Canceled Vacation Plans Due to Inflation

A new survey reveals that clear majorities of American families, concerned about the rising costs of inflation, are being forced to cancel their summer vacation plans.

According to The Center Square, the poll from Echelon Insights shows that “75% of parents say they are concerned about the rising cost of everyday purchases like food or gas.” Inflation has reached new highs not seen in over 40 years, affecting the costs of everything from gasoline to groceries.

The survey also asked if inflation has “caused you to change any of your plans for what your children will do this summer?” Of the respondents, 57 percent said yes, while just 37 percent said no. In addition, 51 percent of families said that they ultimately “changed or canceled plans for a family trip,” with another 41 percent saying that they “changed or canceled activities for my children like camp or extracurricular activities” due to inflation.

2 Women Leaving a Church Funeral Service Were Hit by Stray Bullets in Philly Fatal Shooting

It was the second homicide of the morning in Philadelphia and one of three for the day.

In a triple shooting that left one man dead Saturday morning in East Germantown, two women leaving a church service were also hit by gunfire, according to police.

Police said the triple shooting occurred around 10:15 a.m. at North 21st Street and Chelten Avenue near the border with West Oak Lane.

A 34-year-old man who police said they believe was the intended target was shot multiple times in the chest and taken by officers to Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:32.

The women — a 62-year-old shot once in the left hip and a 57-year-old shot in the right arm — had just left a funeral at the First Haitian Church of God of Prophecy, a police spokesperson said.

Both were hospitalized at Einstein, the older woman in critical condition, the other in stable condition, said police, who did not release identities of any of the victims.

Earlier Saturday morning, a 30-year-old man was shot multiple times throughout the body at 6:19 on the 800 block of North 50th Street in West Philadelphia. He was pronounced dead at 6:34 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, police said.

Just before 5:30 p.m., a 30-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were shot on the 3100 block of Kensington Avenue in Kensington. Police said the man was shot twice in the chest and died at Temple University Hospital at 5:46. The woman was in stable condition at Temple with a gunshot wound to the left leg, police said…

Armed Partygoer Shoots, Kills Man Who Confronted Group With Rifle, Police Say

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) — Charleston police say a man has died after he was shot following an altercation about speeding through a neighborhood.

According to the release from the Charleston Police Department, Dennis Butler, 37, of Charleston was found around 10:45pm Wednesday with multiple gunshot wounds at an apartment complex on Renaissance Circle.

Officers say their investigation found that Butler was approached earlier Wednesday and confronted about speeding through the apartment complex while children were playing.

The report says Butler left the area, but returned a short time later with an AR 15 style rifle and started shooting at people attending a party.

Officers say a party goer drew a pistol, fired at Butler and fatally wounded him.

Charleston police say no one else was injured, and that several witnesses and the person who fired at Butler waited for police to arrive and cooperated with their investigation.

The Kanawha County Prosecutor’s office is investigating. At this point there are no charges filed.

Border Security Team in Uvalde Defies Order, Storms Classroom to Shoot Killer

As an active shooter terrorized an Uvalde elementary school Tuesday, killing 21, an elite group of federal border agents defied police orders, stormed the building, and neutralized the target.

The border agents immediately wanted to enter the school, but were held back by the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District police chief for 30 minutes.

Eventually unwilling to wait any longer, the squad defied orders to remain outside and broke into the classroom where the shooter had blockaded himself. After a brief confrontation, the squad shot and killed the assailant, 18-year old Salvador Ramos.

California to Test New Digital ID

California’s Department of Motor Vehicles is planning to test a mobile driver’s license, aka digital ID. The state might join three others, Colorado, Arizona, and Louisiana, that have already rolled out so-called mobile licenses.

Last year, the state’s legislature authorized the DMV to trial mobile driver’s licenses. So far, the DMV has not set a date for an official launch of the pilot project, but it is talking to several contractors.

According to the people advocating for them, digital licenses and IDs are more secure, private, and convenient. They also claim that digital IDs solve the “problem” of physical IDs.

Law-Abiding West Virginian Woman With Concealed Firearm Stops a Mass Shooting

Instead of waiting for the police to arrive, a woman with a concealed carry license in West Virginia acted fast to stop a crazed man with an AR-15-style rifle who was about to kill dozens of people at a graduation party.

“Instead of running from the threat, she engaged with the threat and saved several lives last night,” Charleston Police Department Chief of Detectives Tony Hazelett told local news WCHSTV.

The incident occurred Wednesday when Dennis Butler,37, was angered by a group of people hosting a graduation party who told him to slow down through an apartment complex in Charleston. He returned 30 minutes later, parked his vehicle, jumped in the backseat, and discharged his weapon toward the group of 30-40 people.

Unbeknownst to the shooter, a law-abiding citizen with a CCW was within the group and quickly drew her weapon and engaged Bulter with direct fire, fatally wounding him.

Oops — Gibson’s Bakery Seeks to Execute on $36 Million Appeal Bond Since Oberlin College Failed to Obtain Stay of Appeals Court Mandate

As posted recently, Oberlin College is seeking to have the Ohio Supreme Court hear an appeal from the massive $32 million judgment entered after jury trial in the Lorain County Court of Common Pleas as affirmed by the 9th District Court of Appeals.

There has been an appeal bond in place since trial issued by Zurich American Insurance Company securing the judgment plus future interest in the amount of $36 million, as a condition of a stay of judgment issued by the trial court.

In the Court of Appeals decision, the court noted on the very last page something that didn’t mean much to me at the time (emphasis added):

We order that a special mandate issue out of this Court, directing the Court of Common Pleas, County of Lorain, State of Ohio, to carry this judgment into execution. A certified copy of this journal entry shall constitute the mandate, pursuant to App.R. 27.

It does not appear that Oberlin College sought a stay of that mandate pending appeal to the Ohio Supreme Court. The Gibsons have just filed a Motion to Enter Judgment Against Surety Zurich American Insurance Company in the trial court arguing, in part:

Plaintiffs Gibson Bros., Inc. and Lorna J. Gibson, as the executor and representative of the Estate of David R. Gibson and the Estate of Allyn W. Gibson (collectively “the Gibsons”) respectfully request that this Honorable Court enter judgment against the surety Zurich American Insurance Company, Bond No. 9280167 in the amount of $36,127,181.25 plus $4,331.19 per diem from the date of filing. A chart calculating the judgment per diem is attached for the Court’s convenience as Exhibit 1. There is no valid stay of execution of judgment remaining, and the Gibsons are entitled to judgment in accordance with the mandate from the Ninth District Court of Appeals.

Pet Owners Struggle to Find Wet Cat Food

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Are you having trouble finding cat food? Well, many pet owners are.

Several people told 8 On Your Side it’s getting harder and harder to find wet cat food.

“I’ve seen shortages going to Winn Dixie, Publix, Walmart. So I have to come to the pet stores and pay extra for blue buffalo for either the dry or wet food,” said Carrie Cummings.

She said she has to driver across town to find her cat food.

“With gas being high, that’s not good,” she said.

With canned cat food being in high demand, it’s crucial to not run out.

“I try to just stock up so I don’t have that issue,” said Cummings.

That’s the key, according to Nick Trianta, owner of Pet Wize. He said it’s a constant challenge to keep pet food on the shelves and it’s been that way since the pandemic started.

“It’s not getting necessarily better,” he said. “It depends on the brands.”

According to PetsRadar.com, the cat food shortage is due to more than one thing. The ingredients for the food are more expensive to source and American households adopted more animals during the pandemic.

Texas DPS Director Suggests “Cyber Gaming” Could Play a Role in Causing Uvalde Shooting

Steven McCraw, the director of Texas’ department of public safety, appeared to suggest “cyber gaming” could be responsible for the Robb Elementary School mass shooting that left 19 kids and two teachers dead.

“We haven’t gotten into the why,” McCraw said during a press briefing. “We know the individual was also into cyber gaming in that regard, and group gaming.”

However, several studies refute the “video game” narrative. In 2019, a study by Oxford University concluded that “violent video game engagement is not associated with adolescents’ aggressive behavior,” and it was also noted that countries where more time is spent on video games than the US, such as Japan, don’t have increased violence.

However, the notion that games can be blamed for violence has increased calls for online censorship.

Bill S-7 Will Make it Easier for Border Agents to Search Travellers’ Devices

A new Senate bill would allow Canadian Border Service (CBSA) agents to examine the contents of travellers’ smartphones, laptops and other devices under the threshold of “reasonable general concern.”

Bill S-7 aims to amend the Customs Act and the Preclearance Act, altering search protocol for those wishing to enter the country.

The threshold for search according to the bill does not offer a precise definition. This is in contrast to the well-established legal standards police must meet to conduct a search or make an arrest, including “reasonable suspicion” and “reasonable grounds to believe.”

Trudeau’s Health Minister Says World Health Organization Should be Given Even Greater Power

(LifeSiteNews) — While speaking Monday in Geneva, Switzerland at the World Health Assembly, Canadian Minister of Health Jean-Yves Duclos said the World Health Organization (WHO) reaffirmed that the nation will support the WHO’s pandemic treaty.

“We need to learn from the current pandemic. The health, economic and social costs of not being adequately prepared are catastrophic. That’s why Canada supports the idea of a new multilateral instrument to ensure better preparedness,” Duclos said while speaking at the WHOs 75th World Health Assembly gathering.

“This is also precisely why institutions like the WHO are so important. The WHO has played a key role in international health cooperation since its creation and, even more so, since the beginning of this pandemic.”

World Airport Association Calls on Trudeau to Drop Canada’s COVID Travel Mandates

(LifeSiteNews) — The International Air Transport Association (IATA) says the Canadian government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should end at once all COVID travel restrictions, including vaccine mandates.

“Following the easing of many of these restrictions, demand is coming back and it is clear that people want to travel. We can therefore ill afford to have passengers subjected to unacceptable wait times both on arrival in the country or on departure.”

The IATA wants random testing, the ArriveCAN app (vaccine passport), and vaccine mandates gone.

Climate Madness: British Startup Releases Masks for Cows

The British startup ZELP has developed a mask for cows that filters methane. They received a climate protection award for this — Prince Charles is thrilled about the project.

It sounds like a belated April Fool’s joke: On May 24, 2022, the online portal Agrarheute reported that the British startup ZELP ( Zero Emissions Livestock Project ) had developed masks for cows. In this case, however, not to protect them from Corona, but to filter methane.

ZELP is currently testing various prototypes of the cattle masks, according to Agrarheute. These are already able to filter around 30 percent of the methane emitted by ruminants. In the future, this value should be increased to around 60 percent.

The highlight: ZELP was awarded the climate protection prize “Climate Design Award” for the “revolutionary” idea, which was created by WEF figurehead Prince Charles and designer Sir Jony Ive. The cattle mask was one of four winners and received a cash prize of the equivalent of 58 000 euros. Prince Charles supports face masks for cows to fight climate change.

Turkey to Jail People for Spreading “Misinformation”

The Turkish government introduced a new law in parliament that will give the government more control over the internet. The law was drafted by President’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party (AKP) and its ally the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).

The law, which is expected to pass, will punish “spreading misinformation on purpose.” It prohibits publicly spreading “false information regarding internal and external security, public order and the general health of the country, in a way that is suitable for disturbing the public peace, simply for the purpose of creating anxiety, fear or panic among the people.”

Latest News in the Russia-Ukraine War

Russia: President Vladimir Putin told his French and German counterparts that Moscow was open to resuming talks with Ukraine, but that the supply of Western weapons risked exacerbating the crisis, the Kremlin said.

Ukraine: Forces defending Severodonetsk—one of Ukraine’s last major strongholds in the eastern Luhansk region—might soon need to retreat from the city to avoid encirclement by Russian-backed troops, the region’s governor said.

In places like Bucha and Borodyanka, an influx of journalists and others seeking to document suspected Russian abuses has helped shed light on how the invading forces are treating civilians. But their work risks tainting evidence and undermining efforts to convict Russian soldiers for alleged war crimes.

The Biden administration is preparing to send the long-range rocket systems Kyiv says are necessary to fight off the Russian onslaught, officials said.

President Volodymyr Zelensky joined other senior Ukrainian officials in denouncing suggestions that Ukraine should cede territory to Russia in return for peace. War has shaped Ukraine’s political institutions at least since the aftermath of World War II, and it now looks certain to do so well into the future.

Russia Attempts to Block Tor Again After Previous Attempt Failed

A legal challenge against the blocking of Tor in Russia was successful. However, the government has filed another legal process to block the privacy-focused browser and has broadened the case to involve Google.

The Russian government, which seeks to control the information citizens have access to by blocking thousands of websites, views Tor, and other tools like VPNs, that allow unfiltered access to information as a threat.

In 2017 a court gave the government the authority to order the blocking of Tor. But the blockade was implemented, without warning in December 2021. In partnership with a digital rights group called Roskomsvoboda, Tor challenged the blocking in court.

India: Muslim Man Left Islam and Adopted Hinduism in Mandsaur (MP), Now Known as Chetan Singh Rajput

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Mandsaur | May 28, 2022:: In Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh, a Muslim man has been converted to a Hindu Dharma after performing Hindu rituals ‘suddhi’ accordingly. On Friday, he was converted to Hinduism by leaving Islam in the Pashupatinath temple. Earlier a Muslim man had bathed with holy mixture of cow dung and urine. Sheikh Zafar Sheikh, son of Ghulam Moinuddin Sheikh will now be known as Chetan Singh Rajput. The 46-year-old Sheikh has been given initiation to Hinduism by performing a ritual worship by Mahamandaleshwar Swami Chidambaranand Saraswati.

During this programme, a large number of people were present in the temple premises. Sheikh was bathed with cow dung and urine. After adopting Hinduism, he said — this is homecoming. Since childhood, I was inclined towards Hinduism, that is why I married a Hindu girl. Till now I was feeling myself incomplete but now after converting to Hinduism I have become a complete Hindu. This makes me feel at peace.

On this occasion, MP Sudhir Gupta and MLA Yashpal Singh Sisodia also reached the temple and wished him on his return home. MLA Sisodia remained in the temple during the entire programme. The incident of conversion of a Muslim person remains a matter of discussion in the area. At the same time, pictures of Chetan Singh are becoming viral on social media as well. It is true that Chetan Singh did love marriage with a Hindu girl 10 years ago.

Talking to the media, Chetan Singh said that I have been following Hinduism for a long time. I don’t like fanatical minded people. My wife’s name is Sharda. I have had a love marriage. There is also a temple in my house. No family member has objected. On choosing the name Rajput, he said that the ancestors of Muslims were Rajputs. That’s why I have also chosen the title of Rajput. I am already a devotee of Lord Shiva. I have been purely fascinated by Sanatan Hindu Dharma since childhood.

Australia Begins to Reap What it Has Sown. It’s Grim.

Apparently, it’s really difficult for our ONS to produce deaths by date of occurrence by sex and age until 7 months after year end. This means we won’t get any reliable death data for 2021 until July this year.

Fortunately, Australia is a little more timely with their data releases so we can get a little insight from down under.

Looking at both sexes and all ages, it is clear that things have gone really wrong for Australia since the week ending 11th April 2021. Between then and the end of Feb 2022, there have been 16k excess deaths.

There have been less than 4k COVID deaths in that same time with most of those coming since Sept 2021.

So, much like every other country of the world, Australia has had more COVID death since the COVID vaccine was introduced in Feb 2021 and substantially more excess death from other causes.

By the end of the period, more than 90% of the adult population has been jabbed.

  1. Australian excess deaths could be due to the long lockdowns and people being unable to go to the doctor. Many elderly were too frightened to go to the doctor in case they caught covid and most of us had to do telehealth. Elderly don’t have access to computers so they were effectively unable to go to the doctor. We had 260 days of lockdown in Melbourne, unable to travel more than 5 km from our home and the elderly are very frightened of doing the wrong thing so they wouldn’t have kept their specialist appointments.

    • So Australia is once again the penal colony that it was at its founding. Sadly, the length of the sentence and opportunity for parole don’t appear to exist any longer making residency there a matter of life imprisonment.
Sadly, UStralia appears to be next as the construction of the prison appears to be nearing completion.
At least the prison guards won’t be able to prevent Jesus from snatching us up out of their hands when He comes for His own who call Him Lord and Savior.

    • If that’s the case vs excess elderly deaths caused by the fake vaxx then the effect and responsibility are still the same. More deaths occurred than would have otherwise, and it’s debatable whether more deaths would have occurred had absolutely no actions been taken by the government at the beginning of the CCP virus debacle.

Those who ordered lockdowns be imposed and then kept extending them should lose their jobs and pensions at the very least, and those responsible for preventing safe and effective treatments like ivermectin and hydroxy chloroquine from being prescribed or otherwise made available should be held criminally and civilly liable for damages and wrongful deaths.

  2. Who are the taxi drivers in Vienna? I read that in London taxi drivers are Pakistanis. In Moscow – Tajiks and Kirghiz.

Ukrainians beat taxi drivers in Vienna, but they don’t look like Austrians. An article on a German resource wants sympathy from us. Hm. As we say: devour each other.

    • In the case of London, it depends which cabs we’re discussing.

The “black” cabs, which are specially built to high safety standards, can be hailed on the street or queued for at rail stations, etc. The drivers (usually self-employed owners) have to pass a detailed examination, called “The Knowledge”, covering their familiarity with street layout, shortest routes etc, and it certainly used to be true that the majority were Jewish. One case of a driver sexually assaulting female passengers a few years ago received widespread publicity as it was so unusual.

The “minicabs” are standard cars, must be booked online or by ‘phone, and their drivers do not have to pass such a test; they are of course cheaper, and many drivers are of south Asian heritage. In London and elsewhere, there have been rather more such cases.

  3. Not so long ago, director from Uzbekistan Mikhail Borodin (Russian name) made the film “Food 24”, which tells about migrants who were enslaved in Moscow. According to the director, the film is based on real events, based on the case of the “Golyanov slaves” (this is a real story, you can google it if you are interested).

The main character Muhabbat works in the same convenience store. She was forced to marry, and she feeds and raises a newborn child without actually leaving the counter. The store owner is Zhanna, played by the Russian actress Lyudmila Vasilyeva (why we specified that the Russian actress plays the slave owner will become clear below). She takes passports from migrants, keeps them locked up, rules her business with an iron fist.

The well-known SJW film critic Anton Dolin writes on the pages of Meduza (the media is recognized as a foreign agent) that “Mikhail Borodin reveals the topic of xenophobia subtly: he highlights not the problem as such, but its shadow zones, removed to the backyard by both Russian society and Russian cinema. It would seem that migrants humiliated by the white majority in a huge city are material in which there is a place for tragedy, comedy, and horror.

It sounds very sentimental, but there are several moments that director Borodin chose not to show and film critic Dolin chose not to notice. Firstly, in real history, the owner of the slaves and the owner of the store in Golyanovo was a migrant from Kazakhstan, Zhansulu Istanbekova, it was she who kept dozens of natives of various countries of Central Asia (including Kazakhs) in slavery for more than ten years. Moreover, other relatives of Istanbekova had several more such points, with a total of more than a hundred migrant slaves. Secondly, the real “Golyanov’s slaves” were liberated by Russian heroes from the “Alternative” movement.

Director from Uzbekistan Borodin chose to bypass these awkward moments. Why? Because an intolerant picture loomed. It turns out that the Kazakhs come to Moscow and culturally enrich the capital with their ancient and beautiful customs and exploit their own compatriots, and the Russians, instead of oppressing, on the contrary, save foreign specialists from slavery. The theme of xenophobia and “humiliation by the white majority” will not be revealed, so we decided to slightly modify the plot (based on real events). Moreover, director Borodin urges not to treat the Istanbekovs as migrants (an oppressed group), in one of the interviews he says “they have been living in Moscow for so long that they have ceased to be migrants.”
