As Inflation Explodes in Czechia, Price Controls and Other Radical Interventions Are on the Agenda

Petr Fiala’s government in Czechia is now considering regulating the profit margins of fuel and gas sellers. A few months ago, this would have sounded like fake news. Today, it is reality. And this is nothing out of the ordinary in Europe. The prices of basic strategic raw materials, from gas to oil to electricity, are soaring, and this immediately affect the prices of all other goods.

According to the Governor of the Czech National Bank, Jiri Rusnok, inflation could reach 13 to 14 percent in the foreseeable future for Czechia. Other economists do not rule out worse numbers, around 16 percent. In February, inflation rose to 11.1 percent, which was the third-highest number in Europe. At the same time, the economy is growing much more slowly, as are wages. So, we are entering a dangerous spiral of stagflation, which will result in ailing economies with soaring prices.

Poland Raises Interest Rate by Historic 1-Percentage Point as Inflation Bites

The National Bank of Poland has increased its interest rate by one percentage point, the biggest single rise in 22 years.

The interest rate increase had been expected as the country battles rising inflation, which has reached its highest rate since 2000, currently at 10.9 percent, however, the interest rate hike was double many economists’ forecasts.

According to economist Marcin Roszkowski, sanctions and inflation are the price for opposing Russia.

Child Waiting at Bus Stop in Bethesda Hit by Car, Dies

BETHESDA, Md. — A 7-year-old boy died Thursday after he was hit by a car Wednesday morning while waiting for a school bus in Bethesda with his family, according to police.

Montgomery County Police Department officers were called to the area of Grosvenor Place and King Charles Way for a report of pedestrians struck by a gold Honda Accord. Detectives said a man was waiting on the street corner with his son, 7, and his 18-month-old toddler when the driver of the Honda swerved out of the road and hit the family.

The driver of the car and the toddler in a stroller were uninjured, while the father suffered minor injuries and the child was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police said Thursday the 7-year-old died from those injuries.

Police identified the boy killed as Muhammad Haekal Saifullah Elsyaf of Bethesda

After the collision, the driver “re-entered the roadway, travelled across both lanes and left the roadway,” police say. He stayed on scene and talked to investigators, police say.

An investigation into what caused the driver to swerve out of the road and hit the child is ongoing…

DC Bar That Refused Mayor’s Vaccine Mandate Reopens After Winning Back Liquor License

WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) — A District of Columbia bar is reopening after being shut down by local officials for refusing to follow the city’s since-rescinded COVID-19 vaccine mandate for private businesses.

On January 28, the D.C. Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration suspended the liquor license of the Big Board, one of the only local businesses to defy Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser’s January 15 mandate that gyms, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues check the vaccination status of any patrons age 12 or older. The move sparked outrage among many, including Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky.

In the age of Covid, with absentee voting now widespread, only one state, Alabama, has safeguards that “explicitly allowed only the voters to return their ballot”, to prevent third parties and ballot harvesters from making your vote disappear.

If you are unable to vote in person, or if you decide to vote with an absentee ballot, mail your ballot in a sealed envelope to your local Board of Elections Office (Absentee Vote Dept) — and please mail it yourself.

Public school educators through high school will be barred from addressing those topics in a manner that is not “age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate” for their students.

Macron Struggles to Respond to Death of Jeremy Cohen, The New Symbol of France’s Out-of-Control Crime Problem

The death of Jewish man Jérémy Cohen has become a flashpoint in France’s presidential election, with President Emmanuel Macron’s rivals pointing to the man’s death as the latest evidence of a France that is becoming increasingly dangerous under his tenure.

The 30-year-old was violently attacked by a large group of youths in mid-February, and then in his attempt to run away, was struck by a tram in Bobigny in the Paris suburbs. The area is known as a “lawless” zone and features one of the highest concentrations of Middle Eastern migrants in France. Although it has not been proven whether the attack was antisemitic, the man was described as nearly always wearing his yarmulke, and even sleeping with it on, according to friends and family.

Ukraine is the Corruption Champion of Europe

While the EU is obviously grasping at any straw to scare Hungary out of the EU community, it is apparently completely indifferent to corruption in other countries which it wants to welcome into the block. Ukraine comes to mind.

kraine’s current application for membership to the EU and NATO is apparently worth risking a world war, shedding blood for the country which is generally considered to be the most corrupt in Europe.

With a CPI score of 32 on the database transparency.org, the Zelenski regime comes in at number 122 — tied with Swaziland and right between Algeria, Gabon, Mexico and Zambia.

Hungary — now facing harsh EU sanctions — is 49 places ahead of Ukraine. Incidentally, Bulgaria with the worst ranking within the EU, will be spared the wrath of Brussels. At the top of the world’s least corrupt countries are the Nordic countries Denmark and Finland and New Zealand, closely followed by Norway, Singapore, Sweden and Switzerland.

Caroline Glick: The Nuclear Deal is Not Inevitable

On Wednesday morning, five Democrat members of Congress held a news conference to express their misgivings about the nuclear deal with Iran that the Biden administration is obsessively seeking to conclude, seemingly at any price. The details of the deal that have been leaked to date made clear that the nuclear agreement President Joe Biden and his team are eagerly pursuing will guarantee that Iran becomes a nuclear threshold state with an industrial uranium enrichment capacity in a few short years — at most. The deal Biden has negotiated will also give Iran between $90-130 billion from sanctions relief. This astronomical sum all but ensures that Iran and its terror proxies will go to war against Israel and Iran’s Sunni Arab enemies in short order, just as they massively escalated their attacks following their cash windfall in 2016, with the implementation of the 2015 nuclear deal.

Since it formed ten months ago, the Bennett-Lapid-Gantz government has operated under the assumption that Israel cannot influence the administration’s pro-Iranian policies. The best move, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Defense Minister Benny Gantz have all proclaimed, is for Israel to sit quietly on the sidelines in the hope of winning brownie points from Biden and his team. Israel’s leaders have managed to miss the fact that like Israel, the U.S. is a democracy, and at the end of the day, the public’s position cannot be ignored forever.

Last week, the McLaughlin polling group published the results of a survey regarding Iran and the results leave no question about where the American people stand on Iran’s nuclear weapons program. A large majority of Americans strongly opposes the administration’s appeasement policies. 76 percent of Americans support escalating the nuclear sanctions against Iran. Only 14 percent support the administration’s intention to weaken them. Indeed, when asked directly about whether or not to weaken sanctions, 69 percent of Americans said not to. Instead, a plurality of 45 percent of Americans think the U.S. should attack Iran’s nuclear installations if sanctions fail to stop Iran’s nuclear operations.

As for the nuclear deal itself, 63 percent of Americans believe that the nuclear deal is a graver threat to U.S. national security than Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The McLaughlin poll is in line with virtually all public opinion surveys conducted over the past few months in relation to Biden’s domestic and foreign policies. Across the board, a large majority of Americans oppose what Biden and his team are doing at home and abroad. Most pollsters predict that the Congressional elections in November will deliver both the House and Senate to the Republicans. In the event that Republicans do take over Congress, Biden’s progressive domestic agenda will be dead in the water. His ability to implement his progressive foreign policy agenda will be severely constrained.

The willingness of Democrat lawmakers’ to openly oppose their President’s key foreign policy initiative drives home a key truth about American politics and policymaking. It is true that the progressives are both ascendant in the Democrat Party and dominant in the Biden administration. But it is equally true that they are not the only forces in the Democrat Party and they are not the majority of Americans…

‘Czechia Sends Tanks to the Nazis Again!’ — Russia Furious Over Tanks Sent to Ukraine

The decision by Czechia to become the first country to deliver tanks to Ukraine during the ongoing conflict in the country was not well received in Russia, as media outlets compared the move to providing support to Nazi Germany during World War II.

Czech-Russian relations have been at freezing point for a long time and Czechia’s active support for Ukraine has further exacerbated harsh rhetoric.

“We are witnessing increasing negative rhetoric towards the Czech Republic,” said Russia expert Daniela Kolenovska.

Latest News in the Russia-Ukraine War

Train Station Attack: A Russian missile strike killed at least 52 people and injured more than 100 at a train station being used by civilians trying to flee the Donbas area, Ukrainian authorities said. Slovakia is providing Ukraine with an S-300 air-defense system, which is designed to guard against military aircraft and short-range ballistic missiles like the one that Ukrainian and U.S. officials said struck Kramatorsk. President Biden said the U.S. would in turn reposition a Patriot missile system to Slovakia.

War-Crimes Accusations: Residents of Bucha described the killings of civilians by Russian soldiers during their monthlong occupation of the town outside Kyiv. The United Nations General Assembly voted to suspend Russia from the U.N. human-rights council on Thursday, while Moscow repeated denials that any civilians were harmed by Russian forces in occupied territory.

Sanctions: The European Union enacted a new sanctions package and senior European officials traveled to Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Germany is under pressure to adopt stronger sanctions against Moscow and send more weapons to Ukraine.

In Russia: The central bank cut its key interest rate to 17% from 20%, saying the ruble’s rebound had reduced the risk that inflation would move sharply higher. The annual rate of inflation jumped to 16.7% in March from 9.2% in February, Russia’s statistics agency said on Friday.

Russia Claims Latest Missile Attack is Another False Flag

After the Ukrainian government claimed Russian forces carried out a missile strike on civilians inside a railway station, Russia’s Defence Ministry claimed AGAIN that the incident was a premeditated false flag provocation.

The world is now witnessing a vicious cycle where an atrocity is committed, blamed on Russia, and then claimed by Russia to be a false flag carried out by Ukrainians themselves.

The latest example came this morning when scores of people were killed and hundreds injured by an attack on Kramatorsk Railway station.

Russian Press Agency Op-Ed Features Genocidal Undertones, Calls for End of Ukraine as a Nation-State

Russian RIA Novosti state press agency has published an article about “what Russia must do with Ukraine” that makes some worrying claims.

The text, written by Timofey Sergeytsev, seems to reveal a call for what would amount to genocide, starting with the liquidation of Ukraine as a nation state.

“A year ago in April we wrote about the need to denazify Ukraine. We don’t need a Nazi and banderist Ukraine as an enemy of Russia and Western tool for destroying Russia. Denazification is essential when a majority in a nation becomes embroiled in that state’s Nazi policies. In other words, when we cannot any longer work on the hypothesis that the government does not represent its people. Denazification then becomes necessary.”

India: The Dangerous Issues Related to the Mosque Loud Speakers and Adhan (Azan)

A decibel meter can calm down the Mosque hooters to some extent. But, there are many other dangerous issues related to this.

The right-wing groups in Karnataka started campaign demanding shutting down of norms-violating loudspeakers of Mosques, saying those caused disturbance for people living in surrounding areas. After that Karnata Police took cognizance of the matter. Mosques in Karnataka have started receiving notices from the police to use their loudspeakers within the permissible decibel levels.

In Bengaluru alone, about 250 mosques have received such notices and the mosque authorities have started installing devices that keeps the sound within the permissible level, sources said.

The Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Praveen Sood has directed all the police commissioners, inspectors general of police and the superintendents of police to check violation of noise pollution rules by ‘religious institutions’ (including temples), pubs, night clubs and other institutions and at functions.

Some outfits had submitted memoranda to various police officers on Tuesday requesting them to check the “misuse” of loudspeakers from mosques which, they alleged, has been going on even in the silent zones such as hospitals, important government offices, schools and colleges.

The Hindutva outfits and some other groups alleged that the blaring loudspeakers of mosques disturb sleep in the morning causing discomfort to students, patients, elderly people and those who work at night.

Following the direction from the DGP, the Bengaluru police started issuing notices to the mosques.

Khateeb-o-Imam of Jama Masjid in Bengaluru, Maqsood Imran said the mosques in Bengaluru have started installing devices on their loudspeakers after the Bengaluru city police served them notices…

Asylum Applications on the Rise: 68% Increase in First Quarter of 2022

Europe has seen a dramatic increase in asylum applications in the first quarter of the year, according to recent figures from the European Asylum Support Office (EASO).

As European Union member states work hard to tackle the humanitarian crisis resulting from the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, which has now resulted in 4 million refugees fleeing their homes, the flow of migration from the south is also intensifying.

EASO figures show a 68 percent rise in asylum applications compared to the same period last year, with 170,000 applications being made in the first three months of the year — Ukrainians were not included in these statistics.

France: ‘We Are Not Overwhelmed!’ — Left-Wing Macron Buries Head in Sand Over Mass Migration

France is not a country overwhelmed by mass immigration, and a policy of “zero immigration” is not one that should be taken seriously, left-wing French President Emmanuel Macron has claimed.

The incumbent president was speaking to French tabloid Le Figaro, a matter of days before the first round of the French presidential elections due to take place on Sunday.

In response to concerns put to him about the rate and success of France’s immigration policy during his presidency — a key battleground in the election — Macron hit back at claims from a number of his electoral rivals that France is saturated, claiming the country is “not submerged.”

“Our country is not overwhelmed, as some claim, and ‘zero immigration’ is neither realistic nor desirable,” Macron told the publication.

US Climate Tsar: Wait Until You See 100 Million Refugees Coming to Europe

The US “climate tsar” John Kerry believes that the Russian operation in Ukraine creates carbon dioxide emissions and that the war takes focus away from the climate issue, which is more important than anything else.

Kerry also predicted that Europe would see 100 million migrants fleeing famine and social chaos in their home countries. However, he called them “climate refugees” rather than hungry refugees, and maintained that the problem was the climate, not the incipient food shortage that currently seriously threatens global food security.

John Kerry, the US “climate tsar” in the Biden administration and former Secretary of State under the Obama administration, recently warned of the dangers of “climate change” and reduced access to food. It happened on March 7 at the annual CERAWeek energy conference in the oil city of Houston, Texas.

Kentucy Governor Vetoes Bill Seeking to Ban Transgender Girls From Athletics

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) on Wednesday vetoed a bill that would have barred transgender women and girls in the state from playing on school sports teams consistent with their gender identity. The state legislature is expected to override Beshear’s veto next week.

Kentucky’s “Save Women’s Sports Act” would have mandated that school sports teams through college designated as “girls” teams “not be open to members of the male sex.” The bill had defined “sex” as that which is listed on an individual’s original birth certificate, meaning even trans women and girls who have corrected their birth certificate to reflect their gender identity would be prohibited from competing on an all-girl’s sports team.

  1. The West has lost any attraction. In the 80s, I was still too young to appreciate it, but then cracks began to appear on the Iron Curtain and video players and video cassettes with Western films began to appear in the USSR.
So many cute glossy films suddenly appeared. Now I look at it a little differently, I think they were designed not only for domestic American consumption, they also carried out a propaganda task.

Now they seem to carry anti-propaganda in them. And current news from these countries too.
There is also the Islamic world, but something this prospect pleases even less. Oh yes. The third pole of China appeared – also something disturbing, buzzing, insectoid … I think we will still be horrified by what these descendants of mandarins are capable of. And they are in no hurry to invite someone to their “feast of values”. They keep them for themselves.

  2. Some kind of nightmare is happening. Even in our city far from the border, repressions have begun against those who oppose the war. To do this, you don’t even have to go outside, just write a comment.
Parishioners denounce priests who advocate peace. The corpses of young guys come to the cities. No voices are heard from either side calling for an end to the massacre. The rhetoric is completely cannibalistic.
The West continues to pump weapons into Ukraine.

I think it’s even scarier than in the 20th century, when there were no social networks and television. And now there are corpses and blood everywhere.

  4. “As Inflation Explodes in Czechia, Price Controls and Other Radical Interventions Are on the Agenda”

I have come to the conclusion, that there is a very real possibility, that the current “czech” govermnet might be planning to destroy the Czech Republic. Their steps have put the Czech Republic on the russian list of “enemy countries”, they don’t seem to care at all about the fact that the Czech Republic is dependent on Russian commodities, they don’t seem to care at all about the Czechs in general. But they love the Ukrainians! I have nothing against the Ukrainians. But I also don’t see any point in bringing another half million people here and giving them free health care and free education – just because they fight Russia? Czechs already have problems getting the health care we used to be used to – because we have eastern wages, so doctors and engineers tend to go west, to get 5 times more money for the same work.

We have eastern wages, but pay for gas and electricity and wood – “German prices”. Food is cheaper and better in Germany, it is a matter of fact that we are getting B quality food for the price Germans pay for A quality food. Gasoline is cheaper pretty much everywhere…

I simply don’t see any interest in the Czechs from this “czech” Govermnet at all. But they do love the War in Ukraine. And they love to provoke Russia as if we were equals with Russia, challenging Russia to fight! How very “we don’t care about our own people” of them.

  5. I trust the average citizen to deliver Justice more than the FBI, DOJ, or any Soros persecutor.

  6. There is something strange going on in Ukraine. In the territories occupied by the Russian Federation, no administration is introduced. As if the purpose of this action is to bring chaos.

I read the history of Russia. As a rule, after the change of governments, some kind of Councils or Administrations were created. And now nothing happens at all.
Is that the military handing out humanitarian aid.

    “Give us Seiyo back.”

Yes, Taki is there, he writes

    […]
As I’ve always insisted, Poland and Hungary are the two best nations of Europe, and they’ve proved it once again by keeping 25-year-old male migrants from Iran and Iraq out and allowing 2 million female and child refugees from Ukraine in. Typically, the useless and cowardly E.U. chose this time to penalize Poland for favoring its own laws over those of unelected bureaucrats in Brussels, but what else can one expect from Brussels but cowardice and bullying? The only thing the Poles need to do is return Adam Zamoyski’s passport because he is a national treasure, and I’m sure they will. Last week I went to the Polish club for a book launch and met the author, Robert Gary Dodds. He has written an extraordinary book, The Life & Times of Alexander Hamilton—Two Apples That Fell From the Same Tree. There’s a forward by the Duke of Hamilton, and as I began reading it I thought back at the book I had just finished, a crappy Hollywood saga about an unpleasant family that traces three generations as if that were a great achievement. I suppose in Hollywood it is. The Hamiltons helped shape Britain, as did the great Alexander Hamilton shape the US of A, since 1185, a genealogy incomprehensible in most countries. Although Alexander Hamilton was a federalist, he was a great patriot and also a terrific womanizer. He died in a duel with Aaron Burr, a real [merde] and vice president of the U.S. Vice presidents have not improved since.
