Ukraine’s Economy is Set to Shrink by Almost Half This Year as a Result of the War, The World Bank Has Said.

The institution forecasts Russia’s invasion will cause more economic damage across eastern Europe and parts of Asia than the coronavirus pandemic.

The conflict in Ukraine has shut half of the country’s businesses and slashed exports, the World Bank said.

Anna Bjerde, the bank’s vice-president, said Ukraine needed “massive financial support immediately”.

The bank has sent almost $1bn of assistance to Ukraine so far and has promised a further $2bn in the coming months.

It said the closure of Black Sea shipping from Ukraine had cut off some 90% of the country’s grain exports and half of its total exports.

Ukraine is the world’s biggest exporter of sunflower oil and the shutdown of exports has affected global food prices…

Carjacker’s Anti-Semitic Jersey Shore Rampage Sparks Sadness, Outrage

Jewish communities around the world were left reeling following a series of anti-Semitic attacks against Orthodox Jews carried out by a carjacker on the Jersey Shore last week.

All three victims of 27-year-old Dion Marsh’s violent crime spree in Jackson and Lakewood were believed to have been Orthodox Jews.

Marsh struck two pedestrians and stabbed a victim before his arrest on Friday, April 8, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was “saddened and outraged” by the attacks.

“I am personally horrified at the cruelty with which the suspect allegedly conducted himself,” said Scott Richman, ADL NY/NJ Regional Director.

“More needs to be done proactively to prevent violence against the Jewish community and in particular visibly identifiable Jews in Ocean County and across our region…

Cedar Rapids Police Believe 2 Shooters Targeted Victims at Downtown Nightclub

Associated Press | Des Moines RegisterA shooting inside a crowded Cedar Rapids nightclub left a man and a woman dead and 10 people wounded early Sunday.

Cedar Rapids Police Chief Wayne Jerman said investigators believe two men fired more than a dozen shots inside the Taboo Nightclub and Lounge just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday. He said officers who were just outside the club because of an earlier incident rushed inside and found the victims just as 100 to 150 people streamed out.

Officers helped treat the people who were wounded and rushed several of the victims to hospitals in squad cars.

The names of the man and woman who died were not released Sunday. Jerman said one survivor was in critical condition Sunday afternoon while the other injuries, which were all related to the gunfire, ranged from serious to minor.

The gunmen likely escaped as the crowd rushed out of the nightclub. Police were searching for suspects Sunday afternoon and no arrests had been reported…

Facebook is Accused of Censoring Criticism of Black Lives Matter Spending

Facebook is being accused of censoring any information that paints the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement in a negative light — and doing that regardless of the merit and accuracy of those reports.

BLM rose to prominence in the wake of the killing of George Floyd in 2020, when many Americans chose to donate money to this organization as a way of supporting initiatives geared towards strengthening racial justice.

The movement was raising money with that promise. But reports have in the meantime suggested that not all of the $66.5 million in donations received by October 2020 was actually used for that purpose.

Judge: No, You Can’t Cancel Trump’s NYC Golf Course Contract

This is a story that’s been knocking around for a couple of years now but continues to rise like a Zombie every month or two. Shortly after the January 6 riot, then-Mayor of New York City Bill de Blasio declared in no uncertain terms that he was going to war with Donald Trump. He planned to team up with Attorney General Letitia James (who ran for office on a platform of launching fishing expeditions against the former President) and “run Trump out of the city.” That’s a direct quote, by the way. So de Blasio quickly declared that all of the Trump empire’s contracts with the Big Apple were null and void. The four primary targets he located were two skating rinks in Central Park, the Central Park Carousel, and the Trump Ferry Point Golf Course in The Bronx, all of which were managed under the Trump brand.

Jury Convicts U. of Kansas Professor for Hiding Ties to Chinese Government

A federal jury on Thursday convicted a former University of Kansas on three counts of wire fraud and one count of false statements after he deliberately concealed ties to the Chinese government while conducting government-funded research in the U.S.

Feng “Franklin” Tao, 50, of Lawrence, Kansas, worked as a full-time professor at KU while also working with a Chinese university tied to the People’s Republic of China. In 2018, Tao accepted a position with Fuzhou University in China that designated him as a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor, a position that made him a full-time employee of the school.

Tao failed to seek approval from KU before taking the job with Fuzhou, then lied to conceal his employment with the Chinese school. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Tao failed to file to file annual reports required by KU to notify the school of any outside employment “that did or could impact duties as a conflict of interest.”

Thousands Rally in LA to Oppose COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Thousands of people including truckers and firefighters from across the country gathered Sunday outside Los Angeles City Hall to protest vaccination mandates designed to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The crowd gathered at Grand Park to hear speakers and performers, while big-rig trucks from the “People’s Convoy” were parked on nearby streets. Members of the convoy jammed traffic during a Washington, D.C., protest earlier this year.

The peaceful crowd gathered to hear speakers and singers and was similar to a rally held at the same spot last year and to others staged around the country.

California battled a deadly winter coronavirus surge linked to the omicron variant but began easing masking and vaccination requirements this year as caseloads and hospitalization rates fell, which public health officials largely attributed to widespread vaccination and other safety measures.

However, the rates began to rise again a couple of weeks ago, leading to concerns that the new, more infectious BA.2 variant was spreading…

Czech Foreign Minister at the NATO Summit: Each Country Handles the Weapons for Ukraine on Its Own

Ukrainian leaders have primarily requested arms assistance from its Western partners. However, Lipavský did not expect the meeting to come to a conclusion on this topic as arms supplies are an initiative of individual countries.

“Today’s meeting of the North Atlantic Alliance is a very strong example of unity,” Lipavský said when arriving at NATO headquarters. “And the fact that there are nine other countries from around the world present clearly shows NATO’s strength and position in terms of international order and protection of the most fundamental values on which the international community is built.”

Failed Candidate for Establishment Right French Republicans Urges Voters to Back Macron Over Le Pen

The candidate for the establishment-right Républicains (Republicans) has urged voters to back the left-liberal Emmanuel Macron, not the national conservative Marine Le Pen, as exit polls indicate her own performance in the first round of France’s presidential elections was a dismal failure.

Valerie Pecresse, whose party is roughly equivalent to America’s Republicans or Britain’s Conservatives in terms of its former dominance of the French right electorally, may have collapsed to less than 5 per cent of the vote in the first round of the country’s presidential elections — a historically poor result described as “catastrophic” by French media.

Macron to Face Le Pen in Battle to be French President

French President Emmanuel Macron was on course to beat far-right leader Marine Le Pen in the first round of France’s elections Sunday by a larger than expected margin, with the rivals now set to battle for the presidency in a run-off later this month.

Projections showed Macron scoring 28.6-29.7 percent in the first round and Le Pen on 23.5-24.7, with the top two candidates going through to the second round run-off on April 24.

That means the second-round run off vote in two weeks time which will decide the country’s next president will be a repeat of 2017, according to initial results.

Video of Ukrainians Executing Russian POWs Confirmed Authentic by the New York Times

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began, a number of disturbing videos have circulated involving Russian prisoners of war being tortured or executed by Ukrainian soldiers, with the most recent one confirmed as real by the New York Times.

In the video posted on Telegram on Monday, Ukrainian soldiers are seen shooting Russian troops on a village road outside Kyiv. The Times verified the video is authentic, but refused to publish it due to its graphic nature. In the footage, a Ukrainian soldier is seen shooting a Russian soldier three times while he lies on the ground in agony, while another in Ukrainian unit says, “He’s still alive. Film these marauders. Look, he’s still alive. He’s gasping.”

The video shows at least three other soldiers near the initial victim — two of them dead and the other close to death, who appears to be gasping for air. The video does not show whether the Ukrainians shot the one Russian soldier that remains alive. One of the dead Russian soldiers has a head wound and his arms tied behind his back, raising the possibility that they were captured first and then executed. All the Russians have white armbands designed to mark their designation as belonging to the Russian side.

To Combat Population Jihad, Hindu Leader Urges to Produce More Hindu Kids in India

“Mathematical calculations state that a non-Hindu will become the prime minister in 2029,” the head priest of Ghaziabad’s Dasna temple told reporters in Govardhan on Thursday without elaborating on how he reached this conclusion.

PTI | Mathura | April 9, 2022:: Controversial seer Yati Narsinghanand, who is out on bail in the Haridwar hate speech case, has urged Hindus to produce more children to prevent the country from becoming “Hindu-less” in the coming decades.

“If once, a non-Hindu becomes the prime minister, then in 20 years, this country will become a ‘Hindu-viheen’ (Hindu-less) nation,” he added.

He said “in order to awaken Hindutva”, a Dharma Sansad will be held in Mathura-Govardhan region from August 12 to August 14.

Narsinghanand was arrested and later released on bail after he allegedly organised a Dharma Sansad in Haridwar from December 17-19 last year, where provocative speeches were made against Muslims.

He also took part in a ‘Hindu Mahapanchayat’ at Burari ground in Delhi last Sunday and remarked that “50 per cent of Hindus will convert” in 20 years if a Muslim became the prime minister of India and had also exhorted Hindus to take up arms to fight for their existence.

The Delhi government had then stated that it had denied permission for the event but the organisers went ahead with it.

The Maryland Department of Education ensures kindergartners will be taught “gender identities and expressions” as part of its “Family Life and Human Sexuality” curriculum, according to a report released Wednesday.

The state’s Comprehensive Health Education Framework, as given by the Department of Education website here, appears to begin a narrative toward sexual identity education in preschool, teaching three— and four-year-olds that “people express themselves in many different ways,” which quickly turns into recognizing “a range of ways people identify and express their gender” by the time they reach kindergarten. The guidebook is dated July 2020 and June 2021.

UK: Theater Group Stages Naked ‘Family Sex Show’ To Teach Children as Young as Five About Sex

A theater group in the United Kingdom thinks the best approach to teaching kids about sex is getting naked on a stage in front of children and their parents.

In a glowing preview by The Guardian, the production company says the show only discusses the positives of sex and relationships on purpose. The outlet hypes up the progressive approach to the topic of sex education. Despite the name, The Family Sex Show isn’t about incest, and you won’t find that term listed on their website glossary page that has a multitude of other terms and phrases.

    • If I am on your grand jury, you are walking.

The desire is to get the plants or animals to make it themselves.

  1. Pope forgets Orthodox easter is 24th April, not this week He forgets the world doesn’t revolve around him. May be later than he would like. The Kiev elites will let 60,000 troops be killed this week in Donbass. They may have had 8 years to dig in, but heavy bombing will entomb them.

  2. “In response to the Marxist Black Lives Matter movement, celebrated English novelist Jane Austen has been replaced in a literature course by African American writer Toni Morrison in order to further the “decolonisation of the curriculum”.”

What a load of leftist bilge.

    Breakthrough of the Ukrainian archetype.
Have you read such works by Gogol as Terrible Revenge or Viy? There is something in their water and air.
I don’t know. Is there a similar article in English, I found it in Swedish.

FOREIGN. A video showing a woman in a Ukrainian national costume cutting the neck of a Russian man is now being spread by representatives of the Ukrainian government. However, the clip is criticized on social media and compared to Islamic State propaganda films.

In the video – which arouses mixed feelings – a Ukrainian actress calls for bloody revenge on Russian “pigs”.

The woman, dressed in folk costume, talks about how Ukrainians have been treated badly by Russians historically and that it is now time for the Ukrainian people to “harvest their bloody harvest”.

She then holds up a cut, which she uses to cut the neck of a man representing a Russian.

    – Now death awaits you all. You will all be killed in memory of the victims in Butja, Irpin, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa, Mariupol. Your corpses will rot in the fields like the worst kind of carcasses, along the roads and forest belts. They will be eaten by dogs and wild animals, the woman proclaims while dramatic music is played in the background.

The film is distributed, among others, by Anton Geratchenko, adviser to the Ukrainian Minister of the Interior, on Telegram.

    “Welcome to Hell!” writes Geratchenko.

According to Arrahmah, the film has also been shown on Ukrainian television.

Among international users of social media, however, the reaction to the video is much more negative, and several people compare the content with Islamic State propaganda films.
