February Jobs Report: Payrolls Rise by 678,000 as Unemployment Rate Falls to 3.8%
The U.S. economy added back the most jobs since July 2021 in February, with job growth accelerating even in the already-tight labor market as new Omicron cases from earlier this year came down.
The Labor Department released its February jobs report Friday at 8:30 a.m. ET. Here were the main metrics from the print, compared to consensus estimates compiled by Bloomberg:

Gasoline prices accelerated at a stunning pace on Friday, jumping more than 11 cents from the day before.

Eight State AGs Launch Investigation Into China’s TikTok
On Tuesday, a group of state attorneys general said that they were investigating TikTok’s impact on kids and teens. The announcement came after President Biden called on Congress to pass legislation focused on “keeping kids safe online.”
Attorneys general from New Jersey, Vermont, California, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Kentucky, Nebraska, Florida, and others will investigate TikTok to determine the mental health risk it poses to kids. The investigation will also determine if TikTok’s practices violate consumer protection laws.

Homeowner Fatally Shot Intruder in Southwest Houston, Police Say
HOUSTON — A Houston homeowner fatally shot an intruder who managed to get into his bedroom early Thursday morning, police say.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 1 a.m. in the 2200 block of Naomi Street.
Police say a homeowner was asleep on the second floor of his home when he heard the glass of the backdoor break.
According to police, an intruder came into the house, went upstairs and opened the door to the homeowner’s bedroom.
At that point, police say, the homeowner discharged his weapon, striking the intruder in the neck.
HPD says the intruder then ran out of the house and knocked on neighbors’ doors saying he had been shot. He collapsed a few houses down.
Police found the man dead when they arrived. It is unknown at this time if the intruder had a weapon.
The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed.

The People’s Convoy is nearing the end of its journey as it edges ever-closer to Washington D.C. and is due to arrive on Saturday morning.
On Friday, the convoy arrived at Hagerstown, Maryland — the final stop before one last stretch to the nation’s capital on Saturday morning which is now around 75 miles away or about 90 minutes drive.
Onlookers cheered from overpasses as a string of vehicles edged ever close to the nation’s capital as part of a ‘Freedom Convoy,’ in protest of COVID-19 restrictions.
Some of the the trucks have travelled from across the country from as far away as California and Oregon with dozens of people gathering on overpasses to cheer them on.
The convoy is a spinoff from a protest in Canada started by truckers upset at vaccine requirements to cross the Canadian border.
Many attendees said they supported ‘medical freedom’ and wanted mask mandates to end…

Members of Congress Threaten to Hold Big Tech “Accountable” If They Don’t Censor “Misinformation”

Senators Ask the Treasury Department to Ensure Russians Can’t Use Cryptocurrency to Evade Sanctions
Senators Elizabeth Warren, Mark Warner, Jack Reed, and Sherrod Brown have called on the Treasury Department to make sure cryptocurrency is not used to evade sanctions imposed on Russia.

The Supreme Court on Friday reinstated the death penalty for Boston Marathon Bomber now-28-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the man found guilty of setting off pressure-cooker bombs near the finish line of the annual Boston Marathon in 2013, killing three people including an 8-year-old boy, and injuring more than 260 people.
The justices sided with the U.S. government 6-3 to reverse a 2020 ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and to reinstate the district court’s earlier ruling. Canadian Gov’t Detains Russian Nationals to ‘Hold Russia Accountable for Its Invasion of Ukraine’

Carbon Tax Going Up on April 1 Despite Record Gas Prices
Canadians can expect even higher prices at the pumps once the Trudeau government moves ahead with its planned carbon tax hike on April 1.
The hike comes even as gas prices hit record highs across Canada, with parts of downtown Vancouver now paying over $2.00 per litre.
The 25% increase to the tax will raise the cost of greenhouse gas emissions from $40 per tonne to $50 per tonne. There are approximately 6,000 air-raid shelters across the Czech Republic which could accommodate a quarter of a million people in the case of a nuclear attack or incident, the country’s Prime Minister Petr Fiala revealed on Thursday.
Fiala was responding to a question from Deputy Vladimir Zlinský on the resource available to the country in the case of such a disaster, and explained that the many underground spaces in buildings across Prague and the city’s subway could also serve as shelters to help accommodate the country’s 10.7 million population.
“There is no reason to worry. Let us not frighten citizens that there is a risk and that we will have to hide in a shelter or something similar,” the Czech leader said in response to the question, adding that he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin’s remarks about putting nuclear forces on high alert are part of a psychological war.

Board Member of Major German Health Insurer Fired After Revelations About Jab Side Effects
FWM reported this week that a major German health insurer revealed that the number of side effects from the Covid-19 vaccines has been vastly underreported. BKK ProVita board member Andreas Schöfbeck spoke of an “alarming signal” and called for more research. But his honesty came with a hefty price tag.
Andreas Schöfbeck has estimated that in Germany up to 3 million people have been treated for side effects that occurred after the jab. This concerns 31 000 people who have died and 412 000 who experienced serious side effects, for which they had to go to hospital.
Through a data analysis, he revealed a substantial underreporting (91,8 percent), as data analyst Daniël van der Tuin pointed out on Twitter.
It remains to be seen whether any investigation will be forthcoming because Schöfbeck has been fired. He has been on the board of BKK ProVita for 21 years. He told the German newspaper Die Welt that he felt obliged to his policyholders. Schöfbeck has been stunned by the turn of events.

In 2018, Germany passed a controversial law requiring social media companies to remove criminal content and report it to law enforcement. The law also required these companies to publish regular compliance reports.
Last May, the German parliament amended the law, passing even stricter and wider regulations for social media companies. The expanded version of the law took effect in February.
Google, which owns YouTube, Meta, Facebook and Instagram’s parent company, and Twitter filed legal complaints against the law.

Fuel in Czechia to Reach Record High Due to Ongoing Conflict in Ukraine
The price of diesel oil and gasoline across the Czech Republic has continued to rise sharply, breaking historical records, with analysts apportioning the price hikes to the increase in global oil prices and the weakening of the Czech currency following the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
“Fuel prices should rise by another koruna in the coming week,” revealed Boris Tomciak, the co-owner of investment company Finlord.
“For gasoline, the price will be 40 korunas (€1.55) per liter and 39 korunas (€1.51) per liter for diesel oil,” he explained. The new prices break the previous records from September 2012.

Hungary to Lift Most COVID-19 Restrictions, Maintains State of Emergency
Hungary will soon lift most of its existing social restrictions with the fifth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic coming to an end, cabinet minister Gergely Gulyas announced on Thursday.
The obligation to wear a mask will be abolished from Monday, as will the rule allowing employers to require compulsory vaccination with the exception of health and social care institutions.
The requirement for use of vaccination certificates will also be removed.
The state of health emergency, however, will be retained primarily due to the danger of a possible sixth wave and partly because it allows the government to act more efficiently and effectively when necessary to do so, Gulyas explained.

Hungary Praised for Its Assistance With Evacuations of Foreign Nationals From Ukraine
Hungary is helping Somalia, Nigeria, Israel and India to evacuate their citizens from Ukraine, the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjartó announced on his social media platforms on Thursday.

Italy: Dostoevsky Course Reinstated After Cancellation Sparks Row
Writer and lecturer Paolo Nori had complained of ‘censorship’
(ANSA) — ROME, MAR 2 — A course on Russian literary giant Fyodor Dostoevsky which had been cancelled at a Milan university due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will now go ahead as scheduled, the university said Wednesday.
Writer and lecturer Paolo Nori had said the matter at the Milano-Bicocca University was a case of unwarranted censorship and that literature should not be punished due to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s actions.
“Not only is it a fault to be a living Russian in Italy today, but also to be a dead Russian,” said Nori, adding that Dostoevsky, author of Crime and Punishment, the Brothers Karamazov and other classics, had been condemned to death himself in 1849 “because he had read something that was prohibited”.
Announcing the reinstatement of the course, Milano-Bicocca said “we are a university open to dialogue and listening even in this very difficult period which spurs dismay due to the escalation of the conflict.

Italy: COVID-19: 178,000 Excess Deaths Since Start of Pandemic Say ISTAT-ISS
42% of cases in Jan 2022 due to Omicron
(ANSA) — ROME, MAR 2 — There have been 178,000 excess deaths in Italy since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Higher Health Institute (ISS) and stats agency ISTAT said Wednesday.
Much of the excess death rate was in 2021 when vaccine coverage was still low, they said.
Some 72% of the excess deaths last year regarded the over 80s, they said.
In 90% of cases COVID was cited as a direct cause of death.
Some 42% of COVID cases diagnosed in Italy were in January of this year, the report said, when the Omicron variant was running riot.

Poland to Spend at Least 3% of GDP on Defense From 2023
Poland has announced plans to ramp up its defense spending following Russia’s invasion of neighboring Ukraine, the government revealed on Thursday.
The ruling Law and Justice party (PiS) told Polish lawmakers it would be making an amendment to its current defense bill to set up a gradual rise in its commitment to defense.
“There will be an amendment [to the defense plan]: 3 percent of GDP on defense next year, and then we will increase it,” Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski told the lower house of parliament on Thursday.
The spending commitment will be significantly greater than NATO’s minimum requirement of its members to apportion 2 percent of GDP to defense capabilities.

Caroline Glick: Russia, the Virtue-Signaling West and Israel
On Wednesday evening, Israeli journalist Ron Ben-Yishai reported from Kyiv that the memorial site at Babi Yar is unharmed. For a full news cycle Tuesday, Ukraine’s leadership from President Volodymyr Zelenskyyy down a report of an alleged Russian bombing of the site where Ukrainian and Nazi forces massacred 33,000 Jews in two days in September 1941 as a means to demonize Russia. They also used the alleged Russian bombing to whitewash Ukraine’s record of massive collaboration with the Nazis in the genocide of Ukrainian Jewry during the Holocaust.
Ukraine’s obscene and cynical exploitation of Babi Yar and the Russian bombing that didn’t happen, must serve as a lesson to Israel that there’s much more gray than black or white in the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Since the Western and Israeli media have given saturation coverage the blackness of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, it makes sense to consider the dubiousness of Ukraine’s claim to the mantel of liberal democracy.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and his aides have made over the top statements accusing Ukraine of being a Nazi state. But just because the accusations are wild exaggerations doesn’t mean they are unfounded. There are a lot of Nazis in Ukraine.
To be sure, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is Jewish. But as Germany’s Die Welt reported in 2020, Zelenskyy owes his election to the support he received from Ukraine’s then-Minister of the Interior Arsten Avakov. Avakov, who served under Zelenskyy until last July, has been the most powerful patron of Ukrainian Nazis since the Maidan Revolution in 2014.

Greta Thunberg’s Group Launches Protest Against Russian Invasion of Ukraine
Teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg’s group Fridays for Future on Thursday launched a series of rallies to protest Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The group said it plans to hold events in over 40 cities around the world.
Fridays for Future specializes in “youth strikes” that involve students marching out of their classrooms to demand action on their climate change agenda. The same technique will evidently be used for the protests against Russia.

In Ukraine: A fire broke out at Europe’s biggest nuclear power plant after Russian shelling as part of an advance across southern Ukraine. After the blaze was extinguished, Russian troops took control of the facility.
None of the plant’s six reactors, one of which is currently operational, were affected and there was no radiation leak. Both sides said Russian troops at the complex weren’t interfering with the plant’s staff.
The skirmish sparked international outrage and fanned fears of a repeat of the 1986 nuclear disaster at Chernobyl. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia’s actions show that Europe needs to wake up. Ukrainian officials said Russian forces were nearing another nuclear plant in the Mykolaiv region.

NATO Secretary General Warns of Heavier Fighting in Ukraine
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Friday warned that fighting in Ukraine would only intensify as Russia sends in additional troops to reinforce its invasion.
“This is the worst military aggression in Europe in decades, with cities under siege, schools, hospitals and residential buildings shelled, reckless actions around a nuclear power plant last night,” Mr. Stoltenberg said after an emergency meeting of the alliance’s foreign ministers.
“The days to come are likely to be worse,” he added. “With more death, more suffering and more destruction as Russian armed forces bring in heavier weaponry and continue their attacks across the country.”
North Atlantic Treaty Organization members would provide additional weapons to support Ukraine, he said, without providing details.
But Mr. Stoltenberg also pushed back against some calls for NATO to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine to slow the fighting. “Allies agreed we should not have NATO planes operating over Ukrainian airspace or NATO troops on Ukrainian territory,” he told reporters.
“NATO is not seeking a war with Russia,” he said, adding, “We will not be part of the conflict.”
Mr. Stoltenberg reiterated Western demands that Russian President Vladimir Putin order his troops to cease the fighting, withdraw his country’s military from Ukraine, and engage in “genuine diplomacy.”

Poland Answers the Ukrainian Call to Begin Compiling Evidence of Russian War Crimes
The chief prosecutor in Ukraine has sought assistance from Poland in the gathering of evidence to prove that war crimes have been committed by Russian forces during the country’s invasion of Ukraine, Poland’s Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro has revealed.

Russian communications watchdog Roskomnadzor said Friday that it is blocking access to Facebook in response to restrictions it said the social-media giant placed on Russian media outlets.
It comes after the regulator said it recorded 26 cases since October 2020 where Facebook restricted access to Russian media accounts.
Roskomnadzor said the social network, part of Meta Platforms Inc., recently restricted access to prominent Russian media outlets, including state news agency RIA Novosti, Sputnik, Russia Today, television channel Zvezda, Lenta.ru and Gazeta.ru.
The move follows a week of escalating back and forth over content access between Moscow and Facebook.
“Soon millions of ordinary Russians will find themselves cut off from reliable information,” Meta President for Global Affairs Nick Clegg said in a statement. “We will continue to do everything we can to restore our services so they remain available to people to safely and securely express themselves and organize for action.”

Russia-Ukraine War: What Happened Today (March 4)
As Friday draws to a close in Kyiv and in Moscow, here are the key developments of the day:
Fighting remains intense in central Ukraine as Russian forces continue to bombard Kyiv in an attempt to take the capital. But their miles-long convoy north of the city still does not appear to be moving, U.S. officials say. In the southern port city of Kherson, Russian troops control much of the city, including key facilities such as broadcast towers.
Russian forces captured a Ukrainian nuclear power plant — the largest in Europe. After a massive fire was extinguished, Ukrainian workers continue to operate the facility. No release of radioactive material has been reported.
A third round of talks between Ukrainian and Russian delegations is in the works, potentially as soon as this weekend.
A new law in Russia threatens up to 15 years in prison for anyone deemed to spread “false information” about the country’s military and its activity. Other penalties target calls for sanctions against Russia and calls for not deploying Russia’s armed forces.

Staff of Russian Independent News Outlet to Leave Russia After Government Censorship
On Tuesday, Russian authorities banned one of the last remaining independent news outlets Dozhd, aka TV Rain, and Ekho Moskvy, aka Echo of Moscow.
On Wednesday, TV Rain’s editor-in-chief Tikhon Dzyadko announced that he was leaving the country, together with his family and the network’s staff.
“After the blocking of Dozhd’s website, Dozhd’s social media accounts, and the threat against some employees, it is obvious that the personal safety of some of us is at risk,” Dzyadko wrote on Telegram.

Zelenskiy Says NATO Has Given “Green Light for Further Bombing of Ukraine” by Ruling Out No-Fly Zone
Volodymyr Zelenskiy has critisized Nato for refusing to implement a no-fly zone over Ukraine, saying the decision has given “the green light for further bombing of Ukrainian towns and villages”.
“All the people who die from this day forward will also die because of you, because of your weakness, because of your lack of unity,” the Ukrainian president said in an emotional nighttime address.
Nato warned on Friday that imposing a no-fly zone could provoke full-fledged war in Europe with nuclear-armed Russia. “The only way to implement a no-fly zone is to send Nato fighter planes into Ukraine’s airspace, and then impose that no-fly zone by shooting down Russian planes,” Jens Stoltenberg, the Nato chief, said. “If we did that, we’ll end up with something that could end in a full-fledged war in Europe, involving many more countries and causing much more human suffering.”

It has been reported that there are estimates of 60 officers 18 public servants who have declined the COVID-19 vaccine who are on enforced leave due to the mandate.

A Russian-Australian man was told to leave a television studio after he asked a ‘rogue’ question and pointed out that there is an alternative narrative to be considered surrounding the conflict in Ukraine.
The audience member Sasha Gillies-Lekakis was speaking on a live Australian debate show when he expressed support for Russia’s actions in Ukraine, angering other audience members and surprising the host of the show, Stan Grant.

The South African government has enforced a controversial internet censorship law that was passed in 2019. Legal experts have raised concerns about the law being abused.

On Thursday, Amazon-owned live streaming platform Twitch announced that it had updated its policies to address “misinformation” superspreaders.
In a blog post announcing the new rules, Twitch said that misinformation on its platform could cause real-world harm.
Now, the platform will not allow “harmful misinformation superspreaders who persistently share misinformation on or off of Twitch.”

YouTube Ripper Yout.Com is Fighting Back Against Blocking
The website Yout.com, something of an outlier in the stream-ripping ecosystem by virtue of fighting back, is challenging various countries’ attempts to block it.
The blocking orders coming amid accusations of the site’s alleged use as a piracy tool come in a bid to prop up large music labels’ interests and have so far had varied success around the world.

Not going to happen, at least not as long as the petrodollar regime still exists. Via their massive infusions of petro-dollar revenues into the U.S. central banking system and government, the Arabs – led by the Saudis – have a hand on the tiller steering the policies of western democracies – including the U.S. and by extension, American allies such as Canada.
The Saudis are perfectly aware that they could offer political asylum for Islamic “refugees,” but why would they when those people are creating what amounts to a beach-head on Canadian soil, an advance party so-to-speak for later arrivals of the believers?
The Koran, Hadiths and the Sira speak of the obligation Islam imposes on its followers to go forth into infidel (non-Muslim) lands and claim them in the name of the prophet. Since this is what they are doing, the Arabs have little or no incentive to alter the status quo, unless forced to do so by external circumstances.
The globalists, for their part – including Premier Justin Trudeau – like diversity and multiculturalism just fine, especially since they won’t be the ones living with it on their streets and in their towns and cities. That’s only for ordinary Canadians, you see!
Which I can understand in people raised in that degenerate world. What I can’t understand are those who are willing to convert into that world. They have to be sociopaths.
