ABC Anchor: Questioning Judge Jackson About Light Sentences for Child Porn Offenders Was “A Message to QAnon”

Yet another media talking head has claimed that Republicans probing into Biden Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s history of light sentences for child porn offenders is some kind of “message to QAnon.”

As we noted last week, several lawmakers grilled Jackson over the issue, prompting her to state that the cases she has presided over are “difficult” and that judges have to look at “various aspects of the offence and impose a sentence that is sufficient but not greater than necessary”.

Breaking: Will Smith Apologizes to Chris Rock for Oscar Slap

Oscar winner Will Smith has formally apologized in an Instagram post to comedian Chris Rock for slapping him onstage at Sunday night’s Oscars.

“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally,” Smith wrote on Instagram.

“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness,” he added.

“I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us,” Smith concluded the lengthy Instagram post, adding: “I am a work in progress.”

California State University Drops SAT Test as ‘Too Stressful’

Commentary by James Breslo via The Epoch Times

Chalk another one up for progressives never letting a good crisis go to waste. They have been using the COVID-19 crisis to implement a host of progressive dream programs, including government handouts, eviction protections, enhanced unemployment benefits, universal mask and vaccine mandates, and trillion dollar government spending packages.

A far more insidious, yet lesser known, COVID-19 era invention is the end of standardized tests like the SAT and ACT for admission into college. About 80 percent of universities in the United States eliminated the requirement during the pandemic.

Critical Race Theory ‘Rebranded’ by School Officials as Workaround to Laws

As the debate over Critical Race Theory (CRT) rages on, a recent investigation has found that laws in those states where CRT has been banned are ineffective as teachers ultimately choose what they instruct behind their classroom’s closed doors.

That’s according to a recent probe by the conservative watchdog group Accuracy in Media (AIM), which found through a compilation of undercover interviews recorded in Idaho and Tennessee that school administrators admitted to racial-oriented and other curriculum components being taught under rebranded names.

Feds’ Pressure on Tech Platforms to Censor COVID ‘Misinformation’ Is Unconstitutional, Suit Says

The government’s sustained pressure on social media platforms to censor and report purported COVID-19 misinformation amounts to “state action” that violates the First Amendment, according to a lawsuit filed Friday on behalf of three Twitter users.

The New Civil Liberties Alliance (NCLA), a frequent litigant against COVID-related administrative action, is representing theoretical cognitive scientist Mark Changizi, lawyer Michael Senger and stay-at-home father Daniel Kotzin.

Twitter suspended Kotzin temporarily and Senger permanently within a week of Surgeon General Vivek Murthy’s March 3 request for information (RFI) on the “impact and prevalence of health misinformation in the digital information environment during the COVID-19 pandemic,” including how it affects “likelihood to vaccinate.”

Hunter Biden’s Laptop Contained Defense Department ‘Encryption Keys’

National Crackdown on Protests Spreads to Boston

The Boston city council is weighing an ordinance that would halt “targeted residential picketing” between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m., limiting hours for protests aimed at a particular home. Public officials in Maine, Maryland, Michigan and California have already proposed or passed measures to curb what they say is a rise in targeted harassment related to demonstrations against public vaccination efforts and pandemic rules, reports the Wall Street Journal. Some members of the council have voiced concern that the ordinance as written could be overreaching, and demonstrators say it will hurt their ability to directly engage elected officials, but other public officials have said that instances where protesters have shown up outside their homes, and the homes of their family members, crosses a line.

Oscars Filled With Academy Award Firsts, Including Physical Slap Down

The 2022 Academy Awards were filled with multiple firsts, including a physical altercation, as Hollywood gathered together Sunday evening for one of its biggest events since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Smith later went on to win the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for “King Richard” after slapping Rock.

Poll: Eight in Ten Americans Worried Biden’s Bumbling Will Lead to Nuclear War

Joe Biden, the man who ‘won’ an election with a record number of votes now has a record low approval rating with just 40% expressing content with his handling of the presidency.

An NBC poll released Sunday revealed that 55 percent of respondents disapprove of Biden’s performance, meaning Biden has seen a 3-percentage-point drop in job approval since January.

“What this poll says is that President Biden and Democrats are headed for a catastrophic election,” Republican pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinions Strategy, who conducted this survey with Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, told NBC News.

The poll also found that 7 out of 10 Americans expressed low confidence in his ability to handle the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Trial Delayed for Man Accused in Violent Wisconsin Protests

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — A judge on Monday delayed the trial for a man accused of firing off a “warning shot” on the night two people were killed in Wisconsin during protests over the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

Jury selection was set to start in Kenosha Monday in the case of Joshua Ziminski, 37, who is charged with a felony count of arson and misdemeanor counts of obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct with a deadly weapon. Trial was rescheduled for June 21 because defense attorney Michael Barth is tied up with another case, the Kenosha News reported.

Ziminski, of Caledonia, is accused of participating in protests and riots on the night of Aug. 25, 2020, when Kyle Rittenhouse of Antioch, Illinois, shot and killed two people and wounded another. A jury found Rittenhouse not guilty on all counts after he argued that he acted in self-defense

Rittenhouse alleged that at one point Ziminski approached him with a gun and a later yelled “get him” and “kill him.”

The criminal complaint against Ziminski says he is seen on video pointing the gun toward the sky, at which time police observed a “muzzle flash” and heard a gunshot. Ziminski also tossed a match into a dumpster and asked the crowd for lighter fluid to help the fire spread, the complaint says.

U.S. Homeland Security Labels Convoy a Threat, Truckers Blocked From Entering D.C.

For almost four weeks, the U.S. trucker convoy — dubbed the “People’s Convoy” — has been attempting to get into the nation’s own capital, Washington D.C., to protest federal vaccine mandates and the national emergency declaration which allows the government to override constitutional rights.

Metro police (at the direction of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security) has kept the truckers out of the capital by placing government snow plows, dump trucks and police vehicles in front of all highway exits leading to D.C.

The blockades have effectively prohibited the truckers from exercising their First Amendment rights to free speech and peaceful protest. Many truckers believe the blockades are illegal.

Pastor Artur Pawlowski Wins Bail Appeal After Nearly 50 Days in Jail

Pastor Artur Pawlowski has been granted bail with strict conditions relating back to charges that have seen him incarcerated for nearly 50 consecutive days after Sarah Miller, his legal counsel, successfully appealed his original denial of bail.

While the judge overseeing the appeal has ruled that Artur can be granted bail on his mischief and Critical Infrastructure Defence Act charges, there are still existing matters corresponding to criminal contempt of court and trespassing charges which must be addressed before Artur will be released from incarceration.

Additionally, there is a pending matter relating to Pastor Artur’s attendance at an outdoor protest at which he was unmasked, and despite him being outdoors, this technically violated an existing health-order at the time. As a result, the prosecution is arguing that this consisted of an additional breach of probation on some of the sanctions stemming back to Artur’s original charges.

“He had recently been examined, the test showed that he was perfectly healthy,” his team said.

Italy: Tension Within Draghi Govt Over Military Spending

M5S says it is against big rise in defence expenditure

(ANSA) — ROME, MAR 28 — Premier Mario Draghi’s broad coalition government has been hit by turmoil over the target of raising defence spending to 2% of GDP by 2024 to come into line with Italy’s NATO commitments following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Ex-premier Giuseppe Conte, the leader of the 5-Star Movement (M5S), said Sunday that he was against a “massive” increase in military spending.

While stressing that the M5S does not want to trigger a government crisis, Conte the executive must not “present us with a fait accomplit , it must listen to us”.

“The government of national unity was not formed for this reason, but to tackle an economic and social crisis, and now an energy one, and implement the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP),” he said.

League leader Matteo Salvini has also expressed reservations about raising miliary spending.

The UK Online Safety Bill Explained: A Reckless Threat to Free Speech

Few things ring quite as Orwellian as saying something is “legal but harmful” — and for that reason, needs to be censored, by law.

And if he were around, George Orwell might have been mortified that it is his own country that is enshrining this particular policy into legal practice — specifically, through the upcoming Online Safety Bill.

On March 17, the UK’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport announced that the bill was introduced in parliament in order to approve what kinds of speech are “legal but harmful” and that online platforms will be forced to “tackle” — i.e., censor.

Vatican Insider: Pope Francis’ Contradictions Explain Vatican’s ‘Growing Irrelevance’

ROME — Veteran Vatican journalist Sandro Magister said Monday that Pope Francis’ frequent self-contradictions help explain the “growing irrelevance of the Holy See on the world stage.”

In his column, Mr. Magister takes as a point of departure the pontiff’s insistence that all wars are unjust and that weapon-making is evil while also acknowledging that Ukraine — a sovereign nation — has the right to defend itself against its Russian invader and that Europe does well in providing arms to Ukraine.

Ukraine War Causing Food Shortages in Fragile Middle East

BEIRUT (AP) — Layal Aswad was already exhausted by Lebanon’s devastating two-year economic collapse. Now, as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine sends food and energy prices soaring even further, she finds herself struggling to put food on the table for her family of four.

“Even bread is not something we take for granted anymore,” said the 48-year-old housewife, standing recently in a supermarket aisle in front of gallons of cooking oil whose prices had risen to an all-time high.

From Lebanon, Iraq and Syria to Sudan and Yemen, millions of people in the Middle East whose lives were already upended by conflict, displacement and poverty are now wondering where their next meals will come from. Ukraine and Russia account for a third of global wheat and barley exports, which countries in the Middle East rely on to feed millions of people who subsist on subsidized bread and bargain noodles. They are also top exporters of other grains and the sunflower seed oil that is used for cooking.

Latest Developments

In Ukraine: Russian forces fired a volley of missiles at several cities across Ukraine overnight as negotiators prepared to hold face-to-face talks to end more than a month of war.

A Ukrainian internet service provider used by the country’s military suffered a massive cyberattack on Monday, Ukrainian officials said

Cease-fire talks: Russian negotiators were due to arrive in Istanbul late Monday, followed by a Ukrainian delegation during the night, for cease-fire talks scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s office said he urged Russian President Vladimir Putin in a phone call Sunday to accept a cease-fire with Ukraine. Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich and Ukrainian peace negotiators suffered symptoms of suspected poisoning after a meeting in Kyiv earlier this month.

In the U.S.: President Biden released a $5.8 trillion budget that envisions a substantial increase in U.S. defense spending, a sign of the administration’s willingness to devote additional resources to military programs, including aiding Ukraine.

Mr. Biden said his comment suggesting Russian President Vladimir Putin shouldn’t continue to hold power reflected ‘“moral outrage” he was feeling and didn’t hurt attempts to end the war in Ukraine.

In Russia: The central bank opened up the market to all Russian stocks in another shortened trading session, though foreigners remain unable to sell their shares, stalling an expected selloff.

Roman Abramovich Suffered Suspected Poisoning at Talks

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich suffered symptoms of suspected poisoning at talks in Kyiv earlier this month, sources close to him say.

The Chelsea FC owner — who has now recovered — reportedly suffered sore eyes and skin peeling.

Two Ukrainian peace negotiators were also said to have been affected.

The Wall Street Journal reported claims the alleged poisoning was orchestrated by hardliners in Russia who wanted to sabotage the talks.

The condition of Mr Abramovich and the Ukrainian negotiators, who include Ukrainian MP Rustem Umerov, has improved since the incident on 3 March, the paper quoted sources as saying.

A source close to Mr Abramovich told the BBC he had suffered symptoms of suspected poisoning. They said he had now recovered and was continuing with negotiations to try and end the war in Ukraine.

Can a Hunted Man Get Asylum in Joe Biden’s America?

by Robert Spencer

No sooner had 124,000 Afghans begun to be settled in the United States than Biden’s handlers announced that we would also be taking in 100,000 Ukrainian refugees. Then there is the essentially nonexistent Southern border, where over two million illegal migrants entered the country in 2021. Since it’s a migration free-for-all at this point, surely there is room for one more, a man who is being hunted and is in imminent danger of death unless he finds refuge. Why not in the country that up until recently had been known far and wide as the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave?

UCA News reported back in November 2020 that “posters offering a reward of 10 million rupees (US$62,860) to kill a Pakistani Christian,” Faraz Pervaiz, “for posting anti-Islam content on social media have appeared in Karachi in southern Pakistan.” Since then, Pervaiz told me Sunday, the bounty has grown to $375,000 and has followed him halfway around the world, to Thailand, where he is being actively hunted by Muslims who are enraged at his alleged “blasphemy.”

To Fund Ukrainian Refugees, Denmark Cuts Foreign Aid to Countries Like Mali, Syria and Bangladesh

Florida GOP Gov. DeSantis Signs Controversial Parental Rights Bill Into Law

Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday signed into the law the Parental Rights in Education bill, which the media and critics of the legislation are referring to as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

At a signing ceremony in Spring Hill, Florida, the governor said he’s seen “classroom materials about sexuality and woke gender ideology” as well as “libraries with clearly inappropriate, pornographic mature materials for very young kids.”

The bill, initially introduced in January, will severely limit the scope of education related to sexual orientation and gender identity in grades K-3 in the state’s public schools.

While some members of the media, the entertainment industry, and LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations have spoken about the bill as though it is hateful and discriminatory, supporters (a majority of voters) argue that the legislation is a guardrail against the indoctrination of children with age-inappropriate concepts and materials.

    WARZONE

Swedish Speaker of the House xxxxxx on next arms shipment to Ukraine
    NewsVoice -28 March 2022 at 16:0812205

During a recent videoconference in Sweden’s parliament, Speaker of the Riksdag Andreas Norlén publicly told President Zelensky that he already knew that the Riksdag will unanimously vote for further arms aid to Ukraine.

Andreas Norlén reveals the Swedish predetermined intentions with a Freudian slip:

“Thank you, Mr. President, for your sincere and important words and for taking the time to speak to us in the middle of an ongoing war! Thank you also for your leadership in these crucial times!”

    https://tinyurl.com/kw6zswws
Speaker Andreas Norlén. Photo BY-SA 4.0

“I can assure you that support is strong in this House. Our Parliament has previously decided, as you mentioned, on substantial support for Ukraine, and will later today vote unanimously for further support, including weapons that we hope will help you defend your country and, in the longer term, the European security order.

We are on your side in this fight, because freedom matters, peace matters, Ukraine matters.”
    …said Parliament’s President, Andreas Norlén, on 24 March 2022.

Michael Zazzio, former judge at the Natural and General Court of Public Health and Justice comments:

“It is astonishing that Speaker Andreas Norlén claims in front of the entire Swedish Parliament and the President of Ukraine that he knows how all 349 MPs will vote when it comes to donating weapons and other items to Ukraine.

It seems that someone has more or less forced all MPs to vote for Sweden to donate weapons to a Nazi government.”

  3. Victor Orban should know, that Zelensky graduated in law, before becoming an actor and comedian…

It’s really disappointing to see someone who was, not long ago, widely respected reduced to taking cheap shots at a leader besieged in his capital by an aggressor state, which (as the Soviet Union) also sent tanks rolling into Hungary, in 1956.

  4. Russia announces, that it is “drastically reducing” military activity in the northern Kyiv and Chernihiv regions…

Columns of vehicles have also been spotted, heading back to Belarus:

    https://mobile.twitter.com/nexta_tv/status/1508785170723258369

Given that Russia launched an air assault on Kyiv, and an offensive from 3 directions, and viciously fought in the area for a month, surely it’s strange to now see a withdrawal, with Russia supposedly “winning”? (Yes, I’m looking at certain others commenting 😉 )

  5. The “denazifiers” and “liberators” in action – in much the same way, as they’ve been known to act across Eastern Europe, since at least 1944…

(Mohammed coefficient is unknown – however the behaviour of these specimens is also the norm, among many believers in the RoP)

“Ukraine’s prosecutor-general Iryna Venediktova has opened the country’s first official rape investigation into Putin’s troops after a drunken soldier is said to have broken into a home, killed a man and repeatedly raped his wife.

Mrs Venediktova said two soldiers attacked the woman in Brovary, in east Kyiv. One has reportedly been identified and charges are being sought. She added that, after shooting the husband dead and sexually assaulting his wife, the pair threatened their child with weapons.”
