1 Dead: 4 People Wounded in Strawberry Mansion Shooting as Gun Violence Continues in Philly
Five people — including a 15-year-old boy — were shot Tuesday afternoon in the city’s Strawberry Mansion section, with one dying later in the day, police said.
Police received their first report of a shooting just before 4 p.m. in the vicinity of 30th and Cumberland Streets.
Responding officers found an 18-year-old man who had been shot twice in the head. Police rushed him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:51 p.m.
Police also transported a 24-year-old man to Temple with gunshot wounds to his right hand and left arm. His condition was not immediately available.
The 15-year-old boy was reported in serious condition at Temple with a gunshot wound to his right leg.
Police said two other men, ages 20 and 21, also had been shot and were at Temple. No further information was available on them.
The gunfire came after a series of separate shootings were reported throughout Philadelphia during the day, as gun violence continued in the city…

Indiana Life Insurance CEO Says Deaths Are Up 40% Among People Ages 18-64
(The Center Square) — The head of Indianapolis-based insurance company OneAmerica said the death rate is up a stunning 40% from pre-pandemic levels among working-age people.
“We are seeing, right now, the highest death rates we have seen in the history of this business — not just at OneAmerica,” the company’s CEO Scott Davison said during an online news conference this week. “The data is consistent across every player in that business.”
OneAmerica is a $100 billion insurance company that has had its headquarters in Indianapolis since 1877. The company has approximately 2,400 employees and sells life insurance, including group life insurance to employers in the state.
Davison said the increase in deaths represents “huge, huge numbers,” and that’s it’s not elderly people who are dying, but “primarily working-age people 18 to 64” who are the employees of companies that have group life insurance plans through OneAmerica.

Kindergarteners to Eat Lunch Outside in Near Freezing Temps to Curb COVID
When they return from winter break, students as young as kindergarten at Lakeview Elementary School will be forced to resume the practice of eating lunch outside including on days when temperatures would be “expected to be above 38 degrees.”
According to a January 2 email obtained by The Post Millennial, Heather Frazier, principal of the school which services children K through 5 grade, informed parents, “On Sundays during January-February I will send a brief message indicating whether students will be eating indoors due to frigid weather in the coming week. This week students will remain eating outdoors as temperatures are expected to be above 38 degrees.”

Many Universities Will Return to Virtual Learning After Winter Break

Massachusetts Teachers Union Urges Return to Virtual Learning
The Massachusetts chapter of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) made a statement Friday urging schools in the state to return to remote learning in 2022.

Protesters with a group called “Occupy Biden” have spent the past week in President Biden’s Delaware neighborhood calling on him to declare a “national climate emergency.”
According to a description for the protest, which took place near President Biden’s residence in Delaware, the group said that “nonviolent action” is needed in order to push President Biden towards making changes to his climate policy.
On Saturday, the final day of the group’s protest, individuals protested on a road near the president’s house while members of the Secret Service were nearby monitoring the group.

Twitter Permanently Bans Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene
Twitter says it has suspended Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal Twitter account for sharing COVID “misinformation.”
The Georgia Republican rep’s account @mtgreenee was deleted today.
Greene is one of the rare elected politicians to have their personal account banned by the social media platform as Twitter gets more brazen with its approach to censoring specific voices.
It is not yet clear what specific statement Twitter used as a reason to shut down Greene’s account but Green’s statement suggests that it was for posting data from VAERS, the official database that collects information on adverse vaccine reactions.

Montrealers Protest Against Quebec’s Provincewide Curfew
Demonstrators in Montreal defied the curfew on Saturday evening to protest against measures imposed on Quebecers in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19.
About 75 people gathered near the intersection of Sherbrooke and McGill College streets, in front of Premier François Legault’s office, before making their way through downtown Montreal.
The province implemented a curfew Friday, prohibiting Quebecers from leaving their residence between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for Montreal police, said officers handed out 57 tickets by the end of the night. Police arrested one person assaulting an officer.
People who stay out after curfew without an adequate reason face fines ranging from $1,000 to $6,000.

Alberta’s premier is condemning a protest that took place outside the Calgary home of his health minister on New Year’s Day.

Cops Catch 125,000 Scots Partying During Lockdown — Including 82-Year-Old Gran
More than 125,000 people were caught taking part in illegal gatherings during the pandemic — including an 82-year-old gran.
Figures obtained by the Sunday Mail show 973 arrests were made and 17,000 fixed penalty notices issued, totalling just over £1million.
A further 939 people were issued with the £60 on-the-spot fines for breaching lockdown travel regulations.
The figures cover the period from March 2020 to October 25 last year.
A total of 129,014 people were caught in the illegal gatherings, with 4891 being forcibly removed by police.

Denmark to Make Domestic Flights Fossil Fuel Free by 2030
Denmark’s government has announced a goal to make domestic flights fossil fuel free by 2030.
In her New Year’s address, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said she wants to “make flying green”.
However she acknowledged that the solutions to reach her target were not yet in place.
Denmark is aiming for a 70% cut in overall carbon emissions by 2030, compared to 1990 levels.

Dutch Police Shut Down Illegal Rave
Hundreds attended the rave, including people from as far as Italy and Spain. Hundreds of police were mobilized to take participants away from the venue.
Dutch police shut down an illegal New Year’s rave in the town of Rijswijk on Saturday.
The party, held on Friday in the building of an old brickyard, was attended by hundreds.
Rijswijk is a town in the municipality of Buren, part of the Netherlands’ eastern Gelderland province.

Dutch Police Disperse Anti-Lockdown Protesters in Amsterdam
AMSTERDAM, Jan 2 (Reuters) — Riot police with batons and shields broke up a crowd of several thousand who had gathered in Amsterdam on Sunday to protest against COVID-19 lockdown measures and vaccinations.
Public gatherings of more than two people are prohibited under restrictions imposed by the Netherlands in an effort to prevent the Omicron variant of the coronavirus overwhelming an already strained healthcare system.
At least 30 people were detained after scuffles, during which four officers were injured, police said in a statement.

Germany: Düsseldorf: Healthy Riot Squad Officer Suddenly Collapses and Dies
A 53-year-old police officer died on New Year’s Eve in Düsseldorf. He belonged to a unit of riot police from the Ruhr area. There has been no news on and no interest in his vaccination status.
“In the midst of the heavy workload at the turn of the year, the officers’ colleagues received the sad news from the hospital,” reported a police spokesman on request. They confirmed that he had not been assaulted or attacked and no outside force had been responsible for his sudden inexplicable death.
The cause of death is currently assumed to have been an “medical emergency”, the police said. “When he collapsed, he had not suffered from anything, but had been, as far as we know, healthy to be deployed,” said a spokesman.
Overall, the spokesman concluded that the police operation at the end of the year was more like a “normal weekend in the old town”. Fireworks were banned in the old town due to the Corona pandemic.

Hungarians, Czechs, Slovaks, And Poles Reject Federal Europe, Support Christian Values
Citizens of the Visegrad Group, consisting of Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia, and Poland are more likely to reject an expansion of EU power and remain more fervent supporters of traditional Christian values than those in the West, a 30-country study of the Hungarian Szazadvég think tank shows.
The research shows that the region’s citizens are more committed to retaining nation-state competencies than other countries, and only a small proportion of them would transfer more of them to the EU: 54 percent stand for a stronger nation-state, while only 30 percent want further centralization. On average, the same proportions are 48 and 36 percent in all countries surveyed.
All this is proof that the vision of an EU organized on a federal basis is less attractive to the V4 countries than to the old members. Another interesting fact is that of all the groups of countries covered by the research, the citizens of the V4 countries think that their countries face double-standards at the EU level.

Ireland: Illegal St Stephen’s Day Rave Held at Co Meath Castle
Some 500 ravers gathered at Skryne Castle, near the historic Hill of Tara, for an illegal party on St Stephen’s Day night.

Netherlands: Amsterdam: Vaccine Skeptics Bitten by Police Dogs, Beaten by Police
Dutch law enforcement officers violently attacked protesters at the Museumplein in Amsterdam. The peaceful demonstration on Sunday against the WEF-compromised government’s Corona policy, was forcefully shut down.
A panicked Amsterdam Green mayor Femke Halsema announced by means of an emergency order that no one would be allowed to gather on the square after many thousands of protesters had already arrived to express their dissatisfaction with the Rutte administration’s policies.
Several protesters were severely beaten. People were also bitten by police dogs, instructed to attack participants. Another video showed how someone is beaten full on the head with a baton and falls to the ground dazed.

New Cars Sold in the EU Will be Forced to Record Driving Data
New cars sold in the European Union will be required by law to be fitted with technology that records driving data.
The surveillance move is being introduced under the guise of the data being used in case of an accident. The new rule coincides with the introduction of the Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) systems.
Starting July 6, 2022, car manufacturers will have to fit all new models to be sold in the European market with a system that resembles the black boxes used in aircrafts to record driving data. The purpose of the system is to record technical data.

UK Proposes Increase in Police Surveillance Drones to “Protect” Women
Under new plans presented to the UK government, surveillance drones could be used at night to protect women from potential attackers or stalkers.

India: Police Raid Parties at Raisina Farmhouses, Arrest Organiser
Night curfew and Covid protocols were blatantly violated during New Year celebrations in Gurugram.
The police raided an unauthorised party being run in two farmhouses in Raisina. An organiser was arrested and 200 people were rounded up but let off after a warning.

Two back-to-back cases of abduction, conversion for the forceful marriage of Hindu girls have been reported from Sindh of Pakistan. One victim is a minor aged 13 years, while the other is 19 year old. Both were abducted and married by men much older than them.

Newly Christian Families Driven From Homes in Uganda
A Christian woman and her children last week fled the violence of her Muslim husband in eastern Uganda, and earlier in a nearby district villagers destroyed a newly believing family’s crops and drove them from their home, sources said.

The US Nigeria Law Group (USNLG) has called for release of 16 Christian children allegedly abducted and Islamised by the Kano State Government two years ago.
According to the Washington-based group, the children were forcibly taken away from two Christian mission orphanages in Kaduna and Kano during a Christmas Day raid in 2019.

Two Christians Murdered After Christmas Caroling in Nigeria
12/29/2021 Nigeria (International Christian Concern) — While driving home on a motorcycle last week after a night of Christmas caroling, three Christians were ambushed by gunmen suspected to be Jihadist Fulani.
“Two were killed with bullets and a female survived dangerous bullet wounds,” said a community activist while confirming the attack. “She was rushed to the hospital for a medical check-up, we pray she survives the bullets wounds.”

Biden Nominates Southern Poverty Law Activist Who Said ‘Proof of Citizenship’ is ‘Voter Suppression’
A Southern Poverty Law Center’s deputy legal director who said photo ID and proof of citizenship constitute “voter suppression” is now a judicial nominee for President Joe Biden.
The candidate, Nancy Gbana Abudu, also worked at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) from 2005 to 2019. She was nominated by Biden last month to serve as a judge for the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, which covers parts of Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

Greece: Man Who Threatened to Blow Up Himself, Building Faces Multiple Charges
The Egyptian man who had threatened to blow up himself and his girlfriend, whom he had held hostage, with a gas canister Saturday, has been charged with one felony, abduction, and five misdemeanors.
The accused 34-year-old broke into the apartment of his Bulgarian-born former girlfriend in the Athens neighborhood of Agios Panteleimonas, home to many migrants, led her to his own apartment while threatening her with a knife and held her hostage. He threatened to blow up the whole apartment building with the liquid gas canister.
Police forces, including a negotiator, managed to arrest the man Saturday night.
The man appeared before an examining magistrate early Sunday afternoon and has been given time to prepare his defense.

Illegal Alien Charged With Killing Missouri Man Weeks Before Christmas
An illegal alien has been accused of killing a 32-year-old man in Springfield, Missouri, in a drunk driving crash, police allege, just weeks before Christmas.
Jarol Leiva-Navarro, a 22-year-old illegal alien from Honduras, was arrested and charged on December 23 with felony drunk driving after he allegedly killed 32-year-old Colby Brice Compton in a fatal crash, as well as charges for driving without a license.

India: Migrant Muslims Attack Christians at Kitex’s Christmas Celebrations in Kerala
A major riot broke out between Muslim migrant workers and Christian migrant Workers inside the Kitex factory at Kizhakkambalam near Ernakulam in Kerala. Those who intervened, including the police, were also attacked by the mob. These migrant workers were attacked with lethal weapons and injured 5 police personnel, including Circle Inspector VT Shajan.

A scuffle broke out at around 11.30 pm when some Muslims objected to carols being sung by Christian migrants from Nagaland and Manipur. While they were celebrating and dancing late at night, Muslim migrants attacked them. Within a matter of time, both the communities began attacking each other with stones, sticks and beer bottles.

Spain: Pakistani Man Arrested in Sevilla for Posting Jihadist Messages Online
As revealed in a statement from the force today, Thursday, December 23, an alleged jihadist was arrested by the Guardia Civil last Monday, December 20, in Sevilla. The detainee is of Pakistani origin, and had reportedly been monitored posting terror-related messages on social media platforms.
He was detained on Calle San Blas, in the centre of the city, by specialised officers from Madrid to carry out the arrest. The suspect has subsequently entered provisional prison on the orders of a judge.
An investigation had been launched after the Guardia Civil became aware of a user on a well-known social media network who was “profusely disseminating the message of the jihadist ideology”.

Although I am sure that they are thinking about powering the aircraft with some kind of Lithium batteries – you know – the kind that is guaranteed to catch fire on impact.
Looking at a map it appears the maximum extent of Denmark is about 150 miles. They have trains, correct? How many domestic flights are there? How many that do not go on to other countries?

Danmark is small, but its completely flat, with many airports all over the place. They must be talking about small propeller planes, given the green deal hysteria, it probably means “all small planes”.

Denmark’s a pretty small country. Why not hike the tax on fuel for domestic flights and use it to make the trains cheaper? Other short-haul flights too, and not only there, come to think of it.
(Which is not to enter into the debate over anthropogenic climate change, but for those governments which accept the agument in favour, it seems more logical and could be adopted immediately, with the tax, and the train subsidy, increasing gradually to allow time for the necessary adjustments to air and rail services.)

Instagram removed post about racist migrant rapist
Muscovite Pavel Molokanov published a post on Instagram with a story about how he saved a woman in Troitsk from being raped by an Asian man. According to Pavel, the migrant attacked a 38-year-old mother of two in a parking lot on the night of January 1, threw her to the ground and had already pulled off his pants.
In his post, the Muscovite called on those who can identify the rapist to respond – in order to bring him to criminal responsibility.
