German Citizens Are Safer Than Ever

Horst Seehofer served as interior minister in the cabinet of Angela Merkel, and will continue to hold that position until a new government is formed.

According to Mr. Seehofer, despite widespread violence by migrants, Germany is still an extremely safe country. Also, statistics indicate that Corona has helped reduce public violence.

Seehofer from the ivory tower: “Germany one of the safest countries”

Violent crime in public spaces fell during the pandemic — in private, however, it increased. Overall, according to the Federal Minister of the Interior, Germany is one of the safest countries in the world.

According to a report, crime in Germany is declining overall. It fell by 15 percent from 2005 to 2019, “mainly influenced by the significant decline in property offenses,” reported the Funke media group, citing information from the federal government.

In the case of serious violent crime, too, the number of cases has therefore decreased. The Corona pandemic led to a decrease in violence in public — but to an increase in private spaces.

“Germany is one of the safest countries in the world,” said Federal Interior Minister Horst Seehofer (CSU) accordingly. “But security is an ongoing task for which we have to work hard every day.”

The information relates to the so-called periodic safety report. Seehofer explained that anyone who wants to fight crime successfully needs more than statistics. The security report looks back on the last 15 years of crime development. It contains the bundled knowledge of numerous experts from the police and judiciary.

  1. “According to a report, crime in Germany is declining overall. It fell by 15 percent from 2005 to 2019, ‘mainly influenced by the significant decline in property offenses,’…”

Sure, if the police lack the personnel to record them because they are running ragged watching for and dealing with violent crime. These days, I would not report a theft or vandalism to the local Polizei unless I needed to for the insurance.

    • Never report a crime to the polizei now, take care of it yourself and walk away like it never happened.

  2. I think we are all sick of almost anyone in a govt position.

When I read the name and the position I add them to my Dachau list.

There shouldn’t be even one govt minister that is missed. Anyone a member of any of the main parties or coalitions that include those parties must be in the frame.

Note the names. Look for their addresses. Inform others. Organise.

    • Perhaps some playing cards with the faces of the worst offenders can be made and distributed. Just like the ones which were made available to soldiers in Iraq. They need to know we will hunt them to the ends of the earth to get justice for their crimes.

    • Dawg, there are Santa’s little helpers all over the place making lists of who has been naughty and who has been nice. The looks on those faces are going to be priceless when the devil comes for his due.
