19-Year-Old Who Saw Senior Year Disrupted by COVID Shutdowns Unseats Incumbent in School Board Race

A 19-year-old high school graduate who had the end of his senior year forced online by COVID-induced shutdowns on Tuesday defeated an incumbent school board member in New Jersey.

Nicholas Seppy, a 2020 graduate of Egg Harbor Township High School in South Jersey’s Atlantic County, upset Terre Alabarda for a seat on the township’s school board by an overwhelming 17-point margin.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting as of Wednesday afternoon, Seppy had received 4,042 votes to Alabarda’s 2,830.

After initially closing their doors in March 2020, Egg Harbor Township School District forced most of its students into entirely online learning or hybrid learning models with limited components of in-person instruction for most of the 2020-21 school year.

In a statement Wednesday to The College Fix, Seppy lambasted the shutdowns as “awful” and said that he was motivated to run for a seat on the school board “out of a desire to serve in [his] community” and to “give parents a voice in the district.”

[Comment: My senior year in high school was wonderful, and I feel sorry for the young people whose lives were disrupted by COVID restrictions.]

23andMe Collected People’s DNA Under the Guise of One Purpose But Will Monetize it for Another

Cynics will say that nothing says “trusted neighborhood doctor” quite like a company that is a cross between Big Pharma and Big Tech — but apparently Anne Wojcicki’s 23andMe wants to be perceived as having the characteristics of all three.

The company, best known for harvesting genetic data from millions of Americans via spit tests that produced questionably useful information to the customers, recently went public, and now the serious side of its business is emerging — using all that data to develop new drugs and usher in the era of a new kind of Big Pharma that relies on Big Tech strategies of collecting data and monetizing it.

Gore was vice president under President Bill Clinton. The Democrat has long been an advocate for measures to combat climate change.

Attorneys for ‘Rust’ Armorer Suggest Sabotage in Fatal Movie Set Shooting

An attorney for the armorer on the movie set where actor Alec Baldwin fatally shot a cinematographer said Wednesday that he believes someone might have been trying to sabotage the set by putting a live round in a box of dummy ammunition.

“How did a live round get on set, and who put that live round on the set?” Jason Bowles, an attorney for “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, asked on NBC’s “TODAY” show.

Robert Gorence, Gutierrez-Reed’s other attorney, also joined the interview.

“There was a box of dummy rounds labeled ‘dummy,’“ Bowles said. “We don’t know whether the live round came from that box. We’re assuming somebody put the live round in that box…

Boy Scouts Announce New Critical Race Theory Requirement

Those who hope to find a place that’ll encourage the virtuous masculinity that so often finds itself the target of our mainstream culture have been left with a dwindling set of options.

My family intended to guide my formation as a young man and instill traditional values when they put me in Cub Scouts in the first grade, supporting me all the way until I earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2018. It worked.

The time I spent in Scouting certainly contributed to my sense of what is required of me as a man; to act on the moral duty I have to our nation, be capable of self-reliance, abide by the virtues that I believe come from a divine origin, and attain the skills that are needed to care and provide for those around me.

Despite the role scouting has had in my life, I’ve found myself coming ever closer to recanting the resounding “yes” I offered to my Scoutmaster when, at the very end of my interview leading up to earning my Eagle Scout, he asked me if I thought I’d one day want to put my sons in what still could then be accurately called the Boy Scouts of America.

I find myself similarly concerned for my younger brother who is currently active in the troop I was once a part of as the organization continuously bends to a culture that has grown increasingly hostile to its original mission.

Scouting Slides To The Left

Not only did the Boy Scouts end their identity as an exclusively male institution when they opened the organization to girls in 2019, they’re also the latest to cave to the nationwide push for critical race theory, or as they and others euphemistically call it, “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.”

Conservatives Chalk Up Numerous Wins in School Board Races Across Colorado

GRAND JUNCTION — Limiting public comment at school board meetings, misspending of money, failure to a appoint a like-minded replacement for a vacated seat, and teaching of Critical Race Theory in the district was just too much for the parents of Mesa County School District 51.

So, over the past few months, they organized, canvased, made phone calls, and on Wednesday morning they celebrated their electoral efforts to change the philosophical makeup of the Mesa-51 school board.

“We grew a group of 25 of us to 600,” said Mesa resident Cindy Ficklin, who also recently announced her bid for House District 55, a seat currently held by Janice Rich, who has announced her intention to run for state senate.

Mesa-51 was not alone Tuesday in flipping school boards from the historically teacher-union controlled majorities to conservative majorities. Although it was mixed returns, with most of the metro Denver-area school districts remaining in teacher-union backed control, across the state the Colorado GOP claimed victory.

Education Admin Alleges Indiana Schools Are ‘Lying’ About Not Teaching Critical Race Theory

An administrator of Indianapolis Public Schools is going viral on social media after saying he witnessed the school district teaching critical race theory (CRT), after the school system told parents that it doesn’t.

Tony Kinnett, science coach and administrator for Indianapolis Public Schools, posted a video on Twitter explaining why he thinks the district is lying to parents about not teaching CRT. He says, “We tell our teachers to treat our students differently based on color. We tell our students every problem is a result of ‘white men’ and that everything Western civilization built is racist. Capitalism is a tool of white supremacy.”

Kinnett, who says he is in dozens of classrooms every week, argues that those are some of Kimberle Crenshaw’s main arguments in her book, “Critical Race Theory: The Key Writings that Formed the Movement.”

Here We Go: DOJ Sues Texas Over New Voting Law

The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Texas over the new election law known as SB 1. DOJ seeks to stop two parts of the new law. Governor Abbott signed SB 1 in September and it is set to take effect next month ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

Garland’s DOJ objects to the law’s voter id requirements for mail-in ballots and the limits on voter assistance. L.A. Archbishop Decries Rise of Globalism, Anti-Christian ‘Elite Leadership Class’

Los Angeles Archbishop José Gomez has denounced a deliberate effort “to erase the Christian roots of society and to suppress any remaining Christian influences.”

“This group, which is in charge in corporations, governments, universities, the media, and in the cultural and professional establishments, wants to establish what we might call a global civilization,” the archbishop warned.

“In this elite worldview, there is no need for old-fashioned belief systems and religions,” he continued. “In fact, as they see it, religion, especially Christianity, only gets in the way of the society they hope to build.”

German State of Saxony Announces Sweeping Curbs for the Unvaccinated

The eastern state of Saxony on Friday announced new restrictions for people who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 or recovered from the disease, as the country grapples with a dramatic surge in infections.

From Monday, access to indoor dining and other indoor events will be limited to those who are fully vaccinated or can show proof of recovery, local government minister Petra Köpping told a news conference in Dresden.

“We have not managed to build a protective wall of vaccinated people over the past few weeks and months,” Koepping said.

The new rules would mark the toughest state-wide restrictions in Germany against non-inoculated people. Only children as well as those who cannot receive jabs for medical reasons will be exempt.

Belarus Government Threatens to Jail Subscribers to Popular Telegram Channels

The Ministry of Interior in Belarus classified three of the country’s biggest social media channels as extremist organizations. The decision means people could be jailed not just for sharing posts from the channels but also for merely being subscribers to the channels.

In Belarus, Telegram Channels were used to organize protests last year during the election that saw President Alexander Lukashenko elected again. The channels were also used to share videos showing the police violent efforts to stop the protests.

Telegram is preferred to mainstream social media platforms in countries with strict governments because of the lack of moderation in private groups and channels.

Tensions Soar on Poland-Belarus Border as Warsaw Protests Incursion

In a tit-for-tat round of recriminations, Belarus summoned Poland’s top diplomat in Minsk on Thursday to protest claims made earlier this week by Warsaw that Belarusian border guards had threatened to open fire on a Polish patrol.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry said Polish allegations were unfounded and it accused Poland of engaging in “megaphone diplomacy” and issuing “dogmatic statements for the media.”

Amid rising tensions between the two countries over Belarus being used, with Minsk’s encouragement, as a transit point by migrants, mainly from Iraq, Poland’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday summoned Belarus’ top diplomat based in Warsaw to complain about Belarusian guards crossing into Poland. The incursion was said to have occurred Monday.

Stanislaw Zaryn, spokesman for Poland’s security services, said the Belarusians encroached 300 meters into Poland and were confronted by a Polish patrol. The Belarusians “reloaded their weapons and then departed,” Zaryn said.

    • Haha. As the news spreads that the vaccinated are busily spreading the infection around unfettered, I am not surprised they would come up with such horse manure in response…

  1. Some time ago, inscriptions in the Uzbek and Tajik languages appeared in the Moscow metro at some stations, which caused violent protests from residents.
Some active citizens began to re-stick them.
It says here: EXIT “Suitcase – Station – Dushanbe”
