U.S. Hiring Revs Up as Private Sector Adds 571,000 Jobs in October, ADP Finds

The numbers: Privately run U.S. businesses created a fairly strong 571,000 new jobs in October, an ADP survey found, in a sign companies are still managing to find workers despite the biggest labor shortage in decades.

The increase in hiring was larger than expected. Economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal had forecast a 395,000 gain.

ADP sometimes acts as a preview for U.S. Labor Department’s broader employment survey that comes out a few days later. Yet the two reports have often been at odds during the pandemic and ADP has been less reliable as a bellwether.

2021 Buffalo Mayoral Election

The 2021 Buffalo mayoral election was held on November 2, 2021. Four-time incumbent Democratic Mayor Byron Brown lost the June Democratic primary to India Walton, a political activist and nurse. Brown chose to run in the general election as a write-in candidate, and then attempted to obtain ballot access, but continued as a write-in when he was unable to secure a place on the ballot. The race attracted national attention as a proxy battle between progressives and moderates with Walton running as a socialist, and Brown running with moderate Democratic as well as Republican support. In addition to Brown, there were at least three other write-in candidates.

On the night of November 3, 2021, Brown declared his victory over Walton although tabulation of the write-in votes in the Erie County (of which Buffalo city is a part of) wouldn’t commence until November 17.

2021 Virginia Gubernatorial Election

The 2021 Virginia gubernatorial election was held on November 2 to elect the next governor of Virginia. The election was concurrent with other elections for Virginia state offices. Incumbent Democratic Governor Ralph Northam was ineligible to run for reelection, as the Constitution of Virginia prohibits governors from serving consecutive terms.

Republican businessman Glenn Youngkin defeated Democratic former Governor Terry McAuliffe to become the 74th Governor of Virginia. Youngkin won the Republican nomination at the party’s May convention, which was held in 37 polling locations across the state, and was officially declared the nominee on May 10. The Democratic Party held its primary election on June 8, which McAuliffe easily won.

In the general election, Youngkin defeated McAuliffe, making him the first Republican to win a statewide election in Virginia since 2009 and only the fourth to win the governorship in 40 years. McAuliffe conceded the day after the election and congratulated Youngkin, stating that he was “proud” to campaign “for the values we so deeply believe in”. Republicans also flipped the lieutenant governor and attorney general races that were held concurrently, as well as took control of the Virginia House of Delegates.

2021 New Jersey Gubernatorial Election

The 2021 New Jersey gubernatorial election was held on November 2, 2021, to elect the governor of New Jersey.

Incumbent Democratic Governor Phil Murphy, who was first elected in 2017 with 56% of the vote, ran for re-election to a second term. He formally announced his intention to run for a second term on October 1, 2020. Primaries were held on June 8, 2021. Murphy, who won the Democratic nomination unopposed, after his two primary challengers were disqualified, faced Republican nominee Jack Ciattarelli, Green nominee Madelyn Hoffman, Libertarian nominee Gregg Mele, and SWP nominee Joanne Kuniansky in the general election.

Murphy led the polls ahead of the election and it was considered by many media outlets to be a safe or likely Democratic hold. Murphy defeated Ciattarelli in a result that appears to be closer than expected.

[Comment: The Republican candidate had a slim lead until a whole bunch of votes came in at the end. Ahem.]

Administration Accused of Using “Masks as Punishment” After Details of Vaccine Mandate Revealed

The Biden administration is being accused of using face masks as a “punishment” after it was announced that employees who are unvaccinated would be forced to wear them.

Earlier today, it was revealed that the new rules, which apply to businesses with over 100 employees, federal contractors and certain healthcare workers, would go into effect on January 4th.

From that date, all employees will be required to be fully vaccinated, a mandate that covers 84 million employees working at large employers.

Ann Davison Elected Next Seattle City Attorney

SEATTLE — Ann Davison was elected Seattle city attorney after capturing nearly 60% of the vote following an initial round of ballots counted on Nov. 2, and maintained her lead Nov. 3.

Davison leads with 58% of the vote. Challenger Nicole Thomas-Kennedy trails with 42% of the vote.

Davison will replace Pete Holmes.

Davison believes the City Attorney’s Office is not for setting policy or a “place for radical agenda.” It is a place to provide impartial advice to those elected to create policy and to maintain laws so there is public safety.

Nicole Thomas-Kennedy has been a public defender and is a self-described abolitionist who wanted to reimagine the City Attorney’s Office and how it prosecutes offenders.

Earlier today, the administration revealed that businesses with 100 employees or more that don’t enforce vaccine mandates before January 4th are at risk of being punished by a staggering $136,532 fine.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is also considering extending the rule to businesses with fewer than 100 employees, potentially impacting millions more companies.

California School Board Votes to Bring Police Back to School Campuses Following ‘Defund’ Movement

A California school board voted unanimously last week to bring police back to campuses, just a few months after it decided to remove law enforcement from school grounds, arguing at the time that the money should be spent on student services, like mental health.

During a special meeting last Wednesday, the Pomona Unified school board approved a service agreement with the Pomona Police Department to hire two campus safety resource officers — as the district looks at “reimaging and retooling” the role of police, Superintendent Richard Martinez said, according to the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.

The agreement, which still needs to be approved by the Pomona city council, comes months after protests across the country called for defunding the police. But since students returned for in-person learning after COVID-19 shutdowns, schools are now dealing with fights and issues that police officers would typically handle.

If You Won’t Pay for the Newspaper, The Philadelphia Inquirer Thinks That You Should be Taxed to Support it Anyway.

This is how the credentialed media see themselves, and they were, for centuries, the gatekeepers, the decision takers of what would, and would not, be published. The First Street Journal may not have the circulation of the Inquirer, but as long as I pay my site hosting bills, the editors of the Inquirer cannot stop me from publishing.

[…]

If the Inquirer is to survive, it must make itself a newspaper, whether in print or digital only, that the people of the Philadelphia metropolitan area find valuable enough for which to pay. If it can’t do that, it does not deserve to survive.

Just One Year After Defund the Police Cuts, Portland Mayor Calls for Big Budget Increase

A year after Portland cut funds to its police department amid defund the police protests, Mayor Ted Wheeler announced Wednesday he is seeking more than $5 million this fall for police investments, including hiring more officers and buying body-worn cameras.

“Many Portlanders no longer feel safe in their city,” Wheeler said during a news conference Wednesday. “Business owners have closed up shop, for fear of doing business in high risk areas. Commuters fear for their safety, whether taking public transport or going by foot. Parents are scared to let their children play outside.”

Portland has seen its most violent year, with a record number of 72 homicides, surpassing its previous full-year record of 66 in 1987. Nationally, homicides increased by nearly 30% from 2019 to 2020, based on FBI data. In Portland, deadly violence increased at a faster rate than nearly all major cities, with an 83% increase in homicides in 2020.

Kyle Rittenhouse Shouted ‘Friendly!’ as He Was Chased by Man Moments Before Fatal Shooting

A detective testifying in the ongoing trial for Kyle Rittenhouse said the defendant shouted “Friendly! Friendly! Friendly!” as he was being chased by a man whom he later fatally shot, as Rittenhouse’s attorney described the confrontation as a “classic ambush.”

Jurors on Wednesday spent much of the day hearing testimony regarding video footage from the night of Aug. 25, when Rittenhouse fatally shot two men and wounded a third during a night of destruction and unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Rittenhouse and at least one friend said they traveled to the Wisconsin city to protect local businesses and provide medical aid after two nights of businesses being looted and set on fire.

Kyle Rittenhouse Trial: Shooting Victim Lunged Toward Rittenhouse’s Rifle, Witness Says

The first man who was shot by Kyle Rittenhouse during a night of destruction and unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin lunged for Rittenhouse’s rifle in an attempt to take it away just before the 17-year-old fired, a reporter who took video of the events testified Thursday.

Richie McGinniss, who was recording on a cellphone for the conservative website The Daily Caller, took the stand at Rittenhouse’s murder trial and described watching as Joseph Rosenbaum chased down Rittenhouse in one of the most crucial and disputed moments of the night. It is one of the few moments not clearly captured on video.

“I think it was very clear to me that he was reaching specifically for the weapon,” said McGinniss, who had been called to the stand by the prosecution.

Meta Hasn’t Stopped Using Facial Recognition

Citing “growing societal concerns,” Facebook has announced that, more than a decade after introducing the feature, it will stop using facial recognition software to scan and tag photos on the giant social media site — but its parent company, Meta, will not follow suit when it comes to the “metaverse products.”

The feature has been under fire from critics since it was first introduced and two years ago Facebook made it opt-in, while the company also faced lawsuits over it, in one case settling by paying $650 million after it was accused of breaching the Biometric Information Privacy Act in Illinois.

Minneapolis Election: Voters Reject Question to Replace Police With New Agency

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) — Minneapolis residents on Tuesday voted against a proposed amendment that would have removed the city’s police department from the city charter and replaced it with a Department of Public Safety.

The vote means the Minneapolis Police Department will still be required by the city charter and no Department of Public Safety will be created.

The vote after all 136 precincts’ reporting was tabulated was 56% against, and 44% for. Charter amendment questions require 51% or more of the votes cast on each question to pass.

13 per cent said they may be swayed by advice from a close friend or family member, while 9 per cent said a recommendation from a family doctor could change their mind.

Reporting Backlog Means VAERS Vaccine Adverse Reaction Data is Short by Hundreds of Thousands of Reports

Editor’s Commentary: Pretty much anytime we report on VAERS data, we remind people that the CDC claims it only represents a sampling of 1%-10% of the actual adverse reactions Americans are experiencing with their injections. Now, we’re learning that even the data that they’re supplying, which offers a very grim picture of the effects of the Covid-19 injections, is short by a lot because of a reporting backlog.

Seattle Father Files Lawsuit Over Son’s CHOP/CHAZ Zone Shooting Death After Judge Dismisses Federal Complaint

The family of a man with special needs who was fatally shot in Seattle’s CHOP autonomous zone has filed a new lawsuit against the city and Mayor Jenny Durkan just days after a judge dismissed a federal wrongful death suit in the case.

Attorneys filed the suit Wednesday in Washington’s King County Superior Court on behalf of the estate and the father of Horace Lorenzo Daeshawn Anderson, who went by the name Lorenzo, and argued that the 19-year-old was “left to die” after he was shot on June 20, 2020.

“Despite knowledge of the violence, chaos, danger, and potential danger, Seattle leaders failed Lorenzo and encouraged lawlessness to reign,” states the lawsuit. The City of Seattle, Mayor Jenny Durkan and a city council member were named as defendants.

The CDC Hits a New Low

But yesterday the Centers for Disease Control, America’s not-at-all-politicized public health agency, released a new study purporting to show that vaccination protects against Covid infection better than natural immunity. Of course, a wave of stories about the benefits of mRNA vaccination followed.

To do this, the CDC used some magic statistical analysis to turn inside raw data that actually showed almost four times as many fully vaccinated people being hospitalized with Covid as those with natural immunity — and FIFTEEN TIMES as many over the summer.

I kid you not.

Further, the study runs contrary to a much larger paper from Israeli researchers in August.

The planned agricultural strategy, which aims to reduce artificial fertilizers and reduce livestock farming, is also controversial.

Eastern Europe to Grow by 5.4% This Year, More Than Expected

WIIW, region will perform better than the Eurozone

(ANSA) — BELGRADE, OCT 20 — Economies in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe will grow by 5.4% in 2021, more than previously expected, according to the new forecasts of the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (WIIW), made public today. This represents an upward revision of 1.2 percentage points compared to the summer and the region is “likely to grow significantly faster than the euro area (4.8%),” WIIW said. The pre-crisis levels of 2019 were generally already exceeded in the second quarter of this year, the WIIW report reads. However, recovery in the region is expected to lose some momentum in 2022 (3.7%) and 2023 (3.5%), WIIW forecasted.

According to the Vienna-based institute, among EU member countries in Central and Eastern Europe Bulgaria will record in 2021 an economic growth of 3.5%, the Czech Republic 3.4%, Estonia 7.8%, Croatia 7.2%, Hungary 6.2%, Lithuania 4.4%, Latvia 4.5%, Poland 5.3%, Romania 6.8%, Slovenia 5.2% and Slovakia 4.0%. In the Western Balkans, Albania will record a 6.4% growth in 2021, Bosnia and Herzegovina 3.7%, Montenegro 8.4%, North Macedonia 3.5%, Serbia 6.6% and Kosovo 6.0%.

“The strong performance of the Eastern European economies is mainly explained by the less strict COVID rules in many places, and by the fact that the service sector is much smaller than in Western Europe’, says WIIW senior economist Vasily Astrov.

According to the report, the main driver of growth in the region remains private consumption, followed by investments, with exports also picking up, while tourism recovered during the summer months. Employment is approaching pre-crisis levels in many countries in the region, in particular in Croatia, Latvia, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia the institute noted, adding that “there are labour shortages in those sectors that have expanded in the wake of the crisis. This is the case not only in the EU member states of the region, but also in Montenegro, Serbia and Russia.” Rising inflation is also felt in the region, WIIW said, forecasting however that this “should be a transitory phenomenon.”

Europe Puts More Pressure on Unvaccinated, Italy Features Strictest Requirements

On Monday, Germany tightened the rules for the unvaccinated, again, as it stopped paying individuals compensation for time spent in quarantine. It is, however, not the only European country rolling out new rules targeted primarily against the unvaccinated in an effort to make them get their Covid-19 vaccine shot.

In mid-October, Germany already canceled free Covid-19 tests, so everyone has to pay those tests out of pocket. Given that a negative test or proof of vaccination is required to enter cultural, sporting and dining locations, the unvaccinated will come under new financial pressure to receive a vaccine.

France also canceled free tests, arguing that every citizen already had the opportunity to get vaccinated. A Covid-19 test costs between €22 and €44. Compulsory vaccination in France applies to doctors, hospital staff, care centers, and firefighters.

Over 38,000 Girls and Women in Sweden Are Genitally Mutilated — Survey

There are at least 38,000 genitally-mutilated girls and women living in Sweden, the National Board of Health and Welfare has estimated, sounding the alarm over the dangerous lack of knowledge within the healthcare sector about this issue, unknown in the Nordic country barely decades ago.

Because it is girls between the ages of 4 and 14 who are exposed to genital mutilation, the National Board of Health and Welfare stressed the importance of preventive work at the pre-school and school level. However, barely 28 percent of school nurses and 45 percent of youth clinics work preventively against female genital mutilation.

In the survey, the excruciatingly painful and previously unfamiliar process in Scandinavia was called a lifelong trauma and a disaster, whose consequences may include difficulty sleeping, anxiety, and low self-esteem.

Groundbreaking Israeli Study Shows How COVID Proteins Attack the Heart and Blood Vessels

Earlier Thursday morning, we shared a report about a strange phenomenon unfolding at hospitals and emergency rooms across the US. Even as COVID cases continue to fall, emergency rooms across the country have become absolutely packed with patients seeking treatment for abdominal pain, blood clots, heart conditions and respiratory problems. All of these symptoms line up with the wide range of official COVID symptoms reported by the CDC. But, as the news reports state, the cause of this sudden wave, which has led to some patients being treated again in hospital hallways, remains officially unclear.

More than 18 months after it first emerged from Wuhan, SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID, remains an enigma to scientists, who have been conducting a wide range of studies to try and learn more about how the virus does what it does. One of COVID’s most notable features is its ability to cause damage not just to patient’s respiratory system, but to the heart and vascular system as well. Oftentimes, this damage leaves patients with long-lasting symptoms that persist well beyond the initial infection.

Even before it became the first nation on the planet to vaccinate nearly its entire population (it has been doling out booster jabs since August), Israel has been a leading source of COVID-related research. And the latest pioneering study produced by researchers from a range of disciplines (from epidemiology to computer science) at Tel Aviv University certainly raises some interesting questions, according to a report in the Jerusalem Post.

The researchers have become the first on earth to identify which 5 of the 29 proteins that form the SARS-CoV-2 virus are responsible for damaging patients’ blood vessels’

NSW to Create “Two-Tier Society” Using Vaccine Passports

The state of New South Wales, in Australia, has effectively created a two-tier society by restricting access to facilities for those who won’t show a vaccine passport. Rights advocates have been warning that passport mandates are discriminatory.

But they must be able to prove their vaccination status. The density limits of venues will also be eased.

However, those who cannot show a vaccine passport will continue living under the current restrictions, including working from home.

Vaccine Mandate Could Cost Border Patrol More Than Half of Its Agents, Internal Report Says

EXCLUSIVE — According to a document from a source within Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), nearly half of border patrol agents have not registered their COVID-19 vaccination status, and ten percent of those who have registered have yet to receive a jab. In a worst-case scenario, the federal vaccine mandate may result in the termination of over half of the border patrol agents, amid an already devastating border crisis.

“You’re going to take an agency that’s already gone through an unbelievable catastrophic crisis on the southwest border and deplete its resources further,” Mark Morgan, who served as the chief operating officer of CBP from 2019 to 2021, told Fox News. Morgan, now a visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation, obtained a document from a source inside CBP, a screenshot showing the number of border patrol agents who have yet to report their vaccination status.

Watch: New Jersey Election Worker Caught Letting Non-Citizen ‘Fill Out Ballot Now’ And Vote

An election worker in the New Jersey gubernatorial race — which incumbent Phil Murphy won by just 1.5%, was caught on undercover camera telling telling another election worker that they’ll let anyone vote, and then offered a ballot to an undercover Project Veritas journalist claiming to be an illegal immigrant.

Via Project Veritas:

“Remember, we were allowing anyone to come in,” she said.

When addressing the Veritas journalist in disguise, one of the poll workers said she was willing to provide a ballot.

“I’ll let you fill out completely a ballot now. Whether or not it’s going to count, I don’t know,” she said.

“Listen, we’ll let you do it.”

In a governor’s race that has been called with only about a one percentage point difference separating the candidates, this behavior is at the very least questionable.

A Ringing Assertion of Freedom

In the entire history of mankind there has never been a political elite sincerely concerned about the well-being of regular people; what makes any of us think that it is different now? If the Age of Enlightenment has brought forth anything, then certainly this: never take anything any government tells you at face-value.

Always question everything any government does or does not do. Always look for ulterior motives and always ask: cui bono — who benefits?

Whenever a political elite pushes an agenda this hard and resorts to extortion and manipulation to get their way, you can almost always be sure: your benefit is definitely not what they had at heart.

Dutch Banking Service Terminates Feminist Org Account After Trans Activist Complaints

The Netherlands-based internet banking service Bunq, which dubs itself the “bank of the Free,” has terminated the account of the Voorzij Foundation, a feminist organization, in response to complaints from transgender rights activists.

“The bank account of Voorzij has been closed by @bunq with the explanation that ‘your activities don’t match our company policy’,” Voorzij wrote on Twitter. “Women standing up for their rights in anno 2021 not compatible with the policies of a bank.”

Like Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and other gender-critical women, Voorzij has come under fire from transgender rights activists, who claim that the organization is run by “TERFs” or “Transgender Exclusionary Radical Feminists” for the radical view that biology is not a social construct.

They are no longer capable of executing the more complex behaviours compatible with species survival. The species in such settings die.”

In these confusing times, many people are rightfully turning to the Torah for clarity and guidance. It is therefore necessary to elucidate the 15 main religious reasons that it is forbidden according to the Torah to take the so-called “Covid-19 vaccines”.

  1. This is the other side of the coin. (don’t know the similar idiom in English)

Doctors were waiting for the death of the fetus

In Poland, a pregnant woman died in a hospital in the city of Pszczyna: the lawyers of the deceased’s family argue that the doctors refused to terminate the pregnancy due to the restrictions in force in the country and were waiting for the death of the fetus. The woman died on September 22, but her story only got publicized now.

The woman was admitted to the hospital in the 22nd week of pregnancy due to discharge of amniotic fluid. Doctors confirmed the pathology. The fetus died and the woman developed septic shock. She died 24 hours after being admitted to the hospital. According to the lawyer, during the hospitalization, the deceased wrote to her family and friends that the doctors had taken a wait-and-see attitude, saying that they had to “wait and see.”

I do not have a link to the original source, only to Russian social networks.

Already the 21st century, and people will never come to agreement and sanity. Shame on Homo-Sapiens!

Commentary: why not ban amputation for gangrene? What if God will revive this leg?

    • Elena, I have looked into this and have not been able to find any Polish articles confirming the story. The ones in English and Slovak I have seen do not have documentation links. Since Polish restrictive law does make an exemption for threats to health or life of the mother, the whole thing sounds strange.

Due to lack of sources, and due to the obvious fact that pro-choicers would be looking closely for a case that would turn public opinion, I caution you to withhold judgment until more information is available.

  2. Is This What is Happening to Humanity?

Specifically about my country, I will say that everything would work out for us if the state stopped drawing all the forces out of us. Something would have left for us, not their oligarchs.

My fertility was in the 90s. It was a very difficult time in Russia, especially in the depressed northern Russian regions, there was unemployment and a difficult climate (much more difficult than even in Scandinavia) and a lot of resources are spent on food with vitamins and survival.
We gave birth to one child and spent all our means to ensure that he had all the best. We are so used to it. These are our values.
When the situation in the country improved, not everyone was able to give birth to a second or third child for some reason.

But the third world is mindlessly multiplying a lot. They poke their emaciated children into the cameras of the press photographers. Even rats stop breeding, but they continue.
Because the rats do not have Allah who tells them to do it.
