Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/19/2021

A jury in Kenosha, Wisconsin acquitted Kyle Rittenhouse on all five counts in the prosecution against him. I was cheered by the news, but it’s important to remember that this was a rearguard action — conservatives are by and large losing to progressives in the culture wars, regardless of what happened in Kenosha today.

It’s all but certain that the Justice Department will eventually charge Mr. Rittenhouse with federal civil rights violations, despite the fact that everyone he shot that night was white. The feds — who have bottomless pockets — will consume years of his life and force him to incur untold legal expenses before his ordeal is over, if indeed it ever is.

Nevertheless, today’s victory is a good one to savor, because we get so few of them.

“They Simply Don’t Care About [Rittenhouse’s] Actual Innocence. He is Guilty of Being Who He is, And That’s Enough.”

We’re seeing enormous, immense pressure being placed on our judicial system to conform to ideology in the cases it prosecutes and the verdicts it obtains. The actual black-letter law is irrelevant, because the powers that be will interpret what they think that law should mean, irrespective of what it says or what juridical precedent shows. Rittenhouse, and others like him, must be sacrificed on the altar of political correctness in order to intimidate some, and encourage others.

Cities on Edge as Protests Surrounding Rittenhouse Verdict Heat Up

WASHINGTON (TND) — Protesters took to the streets outside the Kenosha, Wis. courthouse Friday where a jury acquitted Kyle Rittenhouse of all charges related to the fatal shootings of Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum.

“When it’s a state-sanctioned murder, you get to riot,” a protester can be heard saying to supportive bystanders in a video from outside the Kenosha, Wisconsin courthouse where Rittenhouse was acquitted.

Another individual outside of the courthouse in Kenosha can be seen screaming “F*** America” before falling to the ground and appearing to have a seizure.

While protests in Kenosha have yet to divulge into violence following the not guilty verdicts, other parts of the country remain on edge, worried about potential civil unrest that could unfold in their cities.

The New York Times Held Back Story on Kenosha Riot Damage Until After 2020 Election

Former New York Times contributor Nellie Bowles has relayed a disturbing account of an incident at America’s ‘paper of record’ concerning coverage of the riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin following the August 2020 police shooting of Jacob Blake — where during just one evening of ‘protests,’ the Kenosha Fire Department responded to 37 fires, multiple shootings, assaults, and other acts of vandalism.

In her “TGIF” newsletter (which can be read at Bari Weiss’ substack here), Bowles explains how she traveled to Kenosha to cover the riots — and in particular to see whether the prevailing Democratic narrative that the destruction was “both good and healthy” for promoting racial justice was true (it wasn’t).

After writing a sobering take on how the riots devastated small businesses — many owned by minorities who would have little chance of recovering, the Times refused to publish it until after the 2020 US election. In fact, they ran it less than a week later.

Berlusconi Rejects Criticism From Within Forza Italia

Gelmini complained about lack of dialogue with party

(ANSA) — ROME, OCT 21 — Ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi on Thursday rejected some rare criticism of his leadership of Forza Italia (FI) from within the centre-right party.

On Wednesday Regional Affairs Minister Mariastella Gelmini complained at a meeting of FI lawmakers that the media billionaire had effectively stopped engaging in dialogue with senior members of his own party and listened more to the leaders of the other centre-right parties.

“I don’t know what happened with Minister Gelmini,” Berlusconi said as he arrived at the EPP’s pre-summit meeting in Brussels.

“Yesterday’s statements are the absolute opposite of reality.

“As regards relations with our ministers in the government, for example, there has always been a meeting of the three ministers with the leadership of Forza Italia every week.

“Today the newspapers were talking of a split.

“It’s all an exaggeration. There is absolutely nothing for me to worry about”.

However, another FI bigwig, Civil Service Minister Renato Brunetta, said Thursday that Gelmini, a long-standing Berlusconi loyalist, had expressed the “widespread malaise” that exists within the party.

Berlusconi also said Thursday that he thinks Premier Mario Draghi should continue at the helm of government.

He said he thinks that, although Draghi would be excellent president of the Italian republic, he is more useful to the nation as premier at the moment.

President Sergio Mattarella’s seven-year term as head of State ends early next year.

The centre right has said it is united behind a push for Berlusconi to take Mattarella’s place.

Bridgend Council in Wales UK announced that, for a second year running, there will be no festive Christmas events in the schools under its purview due to staff shortages and COVID fears.

However, some food will have a ‘festive theme,’“, said a spokesperson for the council.

Caroline Glick: Bennett Builds a Terror State

Standing at the speaker’s rostrum at the Knesset last week, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett declared, “There are no negotiations taking place towards the establishment of a terror state in the heart of Israel.”

Bennett was compelled to make his declaration because the political opposition insists that the opposite is the case. Bennett’s former political partner, MK Bezalel Smotrich gathered the requisite forty signatures to compel Bennett to appear before the Knesset last week and answer questions. Smotrich and his fellow members of the opposition believe that Bennett’s far-left dominated government is moving swiftly to establish a Palestinian terror state in the heart of Israel.

Events this week indicated that despite Bennett’s denials, the opposition is right.

In Oslo, Norway on Wednesday, the so-called Ad Hoc Liaison Committee convened for its semi-annual conference. The AHLC is a consortium of donor governments that support the Palestinian Authority. It was founded in 1993, immediately after the Israeli-PLO peace process was formally inaugurated on the White House Lawn. The peace process was dubbed the Oslo process because the secret talks that led to the official peace process were initiated in Oslo.

The AHLC serves a double purpose. Donor governments raise funds to finance and maintain governing mechanisms and institutions in the PLO-controlled Palestinian Authority. Those institutions and mechanisms are supposed to serve as the foundation of a future Palestinian state. The donor countries also fund projects geared towards developing the Palestinian economy.

Since 1993, through the AHLC and other international donor mechanisms, the Palestinians have received more foreign aid per capita than any nation has received in history. Despite this, the PA never formed a functioning economy. Yassir Arafat, his successor Mahmoud Abbas and their cronies opted instead to use the funds to form a terror sponsoring kleptocracy.

As more and more donor nations realized they were being had, AHLC funding of the PA plummeted by some 80 percent over the past decade. Whereas, in 2011, donor nations gave the PA $1.3 billion, in 2020, the sum had dropped to $500 million. This year, the PA is only expected to raise $184 million…

Boris Govt Plan to Send Boat Migrants to Albania ‘Will Never Happen’, Says Albanian Govt

Hints in British media that Channel migrants will be sent to Albania are “fake news”, according to the Albanian government.

The Times, Britain’s ad hoc newspaper of record, published an article on Thursday morning headlined ‘Migrants to be held in Albania’ which quoted government sources as saying that the odds of a deal with Muslim-majority Albania to hold boat migrants for “offshore processing” of their asylum claims were “looking good”.

Hungarian FM: EU Immigration Policy is ‘Shameful’

The European Commission’s position on migration is bizarre and shameful, with tens of thousands of people making their way to the continent from the south, southeast and east as a result of Brussels’ policy, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjartó said at a regional ministerial conference on migration in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday.

“Brussels is willing to fund everything that increases immigration pressure, but it is not willing to support anything that would reduce it and protect the people of Europe from this threat,” Szijjartó said.

Media Still Describing Liverpool Suicide Bomber as “Christian Convert” Despite Massive Evidence to the Contrary

Media outlets in the UK are still describing the Liverpool suicide bomber as a “Christian convert” despite clear evidence that he faked this identity in an effort bolster his asylum claim.

32-year-old Emad Al Swealmeen, a refugee who was born in Iraq, was killed when his homemade bomb detonated in a taxi while he was on his way to carry out the attack.

The intended target was either a Remembrance Sunday parade or a women’s hospital, outside of which the device prematurely exploded.

Immediately after his identity was made public, the media hyped reports that Al Swealmeen was not an Islamic terrorist but in fact a Christian convert.

‘These Are Not Defenseless Refugees’ — Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Corrects CNN

CNN’s Christiane Amanpour conducted a revealing interview with Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski during a segment that featured footage from a CNN camera crew present at the Bruzgi-Kuznica border crossing. That is the same location where illegal migrants recently assaulted Polish soldiers and police officers en masse.

It is worth noting, for starters, that Amanpour’s team was reporting directly from the Belarusian side while operating among migrants who are actively being used and controlled by Belarusian officers.

Given Amanpour’s line of questioning, one cannot help but sometimes being surprised by the naivety and emotion-driven nature of CNN’s “news” segments.

UK Govt Deploys 150 Troops to Defend Border Against Migrants… in Poland

The British government is sending some 150 military personnel to help guard against illegal migration, but not to Britain’s own hotspot border crisis, but to the European Union member-state of Poland instead.

Britain’s Secretary of State for Defence, Ben Wallace, has agreed with Poland’s Minister of National Defence, Mariusz Blaszczak, to deploy a roughly 150-strong force of Royal Engineers to the Polish frontier Russia-allied Belarus, which has become a hotspot for Middle Eastern migrants effectively trafficked to Minsk by Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko attempting to breach the eastern border of the EU and NATO.

  1. A xenophobic video clip against xenophobia posted by the Oryol Region Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The video shows Russian girls flirting with “southerners”. At this time, an embittered Russian guy in ankle boots (a sign of a skinhead) photographs them and posts this photo on the VK social network with the comment “Inkwell” – this is the name of Russian women cohabitating with Muslims from the southern republics. (Bottle for pouring black ink).
Then the police come and handcuff the guy.
    You cannot oppose the occupiers!

  2. “A Quick Post: Normalizing Heart Attacks”

I don’t think we fully grasp the size of this situation, people “in the know” probably already sense the incoming disaster. I started getting Pfizer myokarditidis drug commericals in my Youtube streams – I don’t know if Pfizer is trolling me, but I rather suspect they already know at Pfizer, and are already running a “minimizing the losses” strategy.

  3. All the corona virus vaccines are “non sterilising” which means they give people antibodies to prevent death but do not stop replication and spread. Governments will have to accept this soon and then what is the plan? so far constant lockdown during winter months. Dr John Campbell points this data out in his videos. Over 90% of population have antibodies and STILL NO HERD IMMUNITY. If no vaccine can give the desired result then it will have to be a tablet like Ivermectin which stops the replication but so far all governments are blocking discussion and use of Ivermectin. They will have to do something as people will get sick of all the jabbing and isolating and rebel.

    • It never was about the health.

An effective solution to protecting people from CCP virus would be the worst possible thing to happen to these fascists since it would remove the justification to all the powers they have seized and the freedoms they have stolen.

    • And you can determine from a few past stories from Australia that it is in the animal population. If the original virus is from bats, i would assume that bats can carry this strain, and the are essentially reservoirs for Corona viruses and Ebola. (BTW HAS ANYONE CONFIRMED BATS CAN CATCH THIS STRAIN! Cause if they can’t it is GMO). So it isn’t going away. That brings up another question, back when Obama was acting as Moron in Chief, did Fauci have anything to do with this push to bring Ebola infected persons here for treatment? That was one of the most stupid ideas I have ever heard. Ebola hangs around Africa in animal reservoirs that it doesn’t kill. I would assume this Corona virus can to.
