“The Shadow Superpower” — The $10 Trillion Global Black Market

Of course, an important aspect of the black market is that earnings are in cash or in kind, and transactions are not taxed or registered in the “official” economy. That’s one reason why governments all over the world are constantly trying to crack down on it, so that they can collect the taxes they insist they’re owed. Independent-minded entrepreneurs, on the other hand, see no reason why they should hand over a portion (often an exorbitant portion) of their hard-earned dollars to bureaucrats and politicians. It’s hard not to sympathize with them.

Canadians Having Trouble Feeding Their Families, Wages Not Rising Fast Enough: Poll

Inflation and rising grocery costs have hurt Canadians’ wallets, a new survey says.

According to the poll, conducted by Angus Reid Institute, nearly half of respondents say that they have trouble covering their family’s grocery bill.

37 percent of respondents said that affording enough food to feed their households during the pandemic has been “difficult,” with another 9 percent saying it has been “very difficult.”

Inflation: Peter Schiff Lays it on the Line

My informed guesstimate of the real rate of consumer inflation in the USA at this time is that it’s at least 15% annually, and probably trending towards 20%. If you doubt that, go over your last year’s receipts for groceries and other consumables, and calculate the price increases for yourself. (Remember, the official rate of inflation disregards food costs, and dangerously underestimates others. That’s how the bureaucrats can keep it so low — but they can’t fool those who pay the bills. Our wallets reveal the truth, whether they like it or not.)

Anti-Critical Race Theory Org Launching $1m in Ads Targeting McAuliffe Before Virginia Governor Race

An anti-critical race theory (CRT) organization is helping Virginia voters keep the issue top-of-mind with a $1 million, multi-faceted ad strategy before November’s toss-up gubernatorial election.

Starting on Friday, national and state TV networks will air a video accusing Democratic nominee Terry McAuliffe of “minimizing” the role of parents. A digital component will target Essex, Nelson and Westmoreland counties, considered to be bellwether’s in the race. Loudoun and Fairfax counties, which have seen an explosion in debate over the issue, will also be targeted.

Are Film Industry Insiders Covering Up Fauci Film Flop?

UPDATE 10/20: IMDB just got caught with its pants down. Social media is noticing that they changed the Fauci film 1.6 audience score to 5.8, but they neglected to change the demographic data or the raw distribution, so it looks like they just faked the top-line number. Check the data yourself.

Meanwhile at Rotten Tomatoes, after being humiliated on social media for blocking the audience rating feature on Fauci, they just turned it on…and the film is getting an incredible 2%. Note the contrast with the rave (left-wing) professional review score of 90%.

Author: The Media’s Agenda is Not to Mislead People, But to Demoralize Them

Author Alex Newman says the point of media deception is no longer to mislead people into believing lies but rather to demoralize them into total submission.

Newman, who wrote Deep State: The Invisible Government Behind the Scenes, explained what he meant during an interview with Greg Hunter.

“Nobody believes the press anymore,” said Newman. “The point is not to make people believe these absurdities anymore. The point now is to demoralize people and to really silence us.”

Bizarre Video Shows Kids Dressed Up in ‘COVID Suits’ To Meet Grandparents

A bizarre video posted to TikTok shows children being made to dress up in ‘COVID suits’ before they’re allowed to meet their grandparents.

The children are seen wearing face masks inside their own house, as well as some kind of full poncho, gloves, in addition to swimming goggles.

“Coming!” shouts a woman who is presumably their mother.

When the children step outside of the house and see their grandparents, they are immediately told by the mother, “cover your nose!”

Cedar Park Man Found Guilty of Making Molotov Cocktail During 2020 Austin Protests

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A Cedar Park man was convicted by a federal jury for trying to make a Molotov cocktail during protests in Austin on May 30, 2020.

Cyril Lartigue, 27, was seen on video making the device while in a parking lot next to the Austin Municipal Court. The U.S. Department of Justice says Lartigue was interrupted by Austin Police Department officers and ran away.

Lartigue was found by police in a portable bathroom in changed clothes, the Justice Department says. They say they found materials used to make Molotov cocktails in his backpack, including beer bottles, a bottle of lighter fluid, cloth rags, a butane lighter and clothes he was previously seen wearing.

ST. LOUIS — Some Boeing workers showed their displeasure over a vaccination mandate by participating in a demonstration across the street from the company’s former headquarters in Berkeley Wednesday. Workers were recently notified about the pending vaccination requirement.

“We were told we have to be vaccinated by Dec. 8th,” demonstrator Tim Block said. “We have not been told as far as what happens after Dec. 8.”

Exclusive: Iconic Target Store on Mission St to Close Amid Shoplifting Tidal Wave

Last week, after Walgreens announced that five additional outlets in San Francisco would be closing on top of the 17 that already have been shuttered since 2019, the company claimed that changes in both the law and prosecutor attitudes and made it impossible to run a profitable business in the city.

Mayor London Breed challenged that narrative. She attributed the closings to demographic shifts and the Chronicle dutifully reported that “the five stores slated to close had fewer than two recorded shoplifting incidents a month on average since 2018” (while acknowledging that few stores bother to report a crime that now routinely goes unpunished). Everyone who has stood in line at a drugstore and watched thieves shove hundreds of dollars of items down their pants knew that Breed was mistaken at best or lying at worst

Now, in a Globe exclusive, San Francisco Police Department has revealed that the iconic Target on Mission Street between Third and Fourth Streets will be shutting its doors before the end of the year.

Get Smart About What Really Happened in the 2020 Election

After the last election, many of us hoped for a champion to undo voter fraud, that certain thing that drove President Donald Trump from office. A “Kraken.” A powerful force of nature, a metaphor of strength, rising from the depths, restorative of truth and proper process. And unlike the Kraken of legend and Hollywood, a purported force of good.

Failure to understand the complex architecture and confusing events of the 2020 election makes it more likely that something like it will happen again. Indeed, the destabilizing forces at work in 2020 are emboldened by their success. The philanthropic streams of money that fueled the 2020 outcome still exist. They are looking toward 2022 midterm elections to do it all over again.

That is why it is important to understand the complex mechanics that steered the outcome in 2020, so they do not happen again, so they do not further destabilize our political process.

Here it Comes: The Shortages Start to Hit Home — and So Does the Backlash

I believe Linda is exactly right when she says this is “a man-made, deliberate change”. The mismanagement of our economy on so large a scale can’t be accidental. To take just one example: progressive leftist environmentalists are trying to reduce (if not shut down) US oil and gas production. That’s led directly to the higher prices for gasoline, diesel, propane, natural gas, etc. that we’re seeing every day. As far as environmental purists are concerned, that’s not a bug: it’s a feature. They believe we’ll be better stewards of Nature if we stop raping her by extracting oil and gas. (The fact that we’ll also be colder, hungrier and poorer is our problem, not theirs. They’ll make sure that our taxpayer dollars will make up any shortfall they experience.)

NIH Admits Funding Gain-of-Function COVID Experiments; Gives EcoHealth Five Days to Report Data

A top NIH official admitted in a Wednesday letter that the US-funded so-called “gain-of-function” research in Wuhan, China — and that the US nonprofit which conducted it, EcoHealth Alliance — led by the controversial Peter Daszak, “failed to report” that they had created a chimeric bat coronavirus which could infect humans.

In a letter addressed to Rep. James Comer (R-KY), NIH Principal Deputy Director Lawrence A. Tabak cites a “limited experiment” to determine whether “spike proteins from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor in a mouse model.” According to the letter, humanized mice infected with the modified bat virus “became sicker” than those exposed to an unmodified version of the same bat coronavirus.

Daszak failed to report this finding, and has been given five days to submit “any and all unpublished data from the experiments and work conducted” under the NIH grant.

Sheriffs to Vaccine-Mandating Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot: Pound Sand

Illinois sheriffs are declining to provide mutual aid to the Chicago Police Department, citing Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate and overall anti-police policies.

Lightfoot set a vaccine status self-reporting deadline of midnight Friday for the city’s emergency responders. However, Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara objected, arguing the policy is a violation of officers’ rights.

By Monday, less than two-thirds of the CPD had complied. That day, the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System, an association of police departments, sent a bulletin to its members. The ILEAS was concerned that, in the event of a large-scale incident while the mandate issue was being resolved, Chicago might require mutual aid, and they were looking to assess the amount of support they could expect.

The response from neighboring jurisdictions was less than enthusiastic.

Is America at war? The short answer is, “Yes, we are.” Who exactly are we fighting? It might feel like Democrats vs. Republicans, but it is not. There is a much bigger threat to you than your neighbor who has a different political view. This enemy does not care to which party you belong.

This cold war is not just being fought on American soil, but worldwide, and the enemy is using propaganda and censorship to pit citizens against citizens, Americans against Americans. We are more divided today than we have ever been, and it is right where the enemy wants us.

Hungary Slams EU’s Handling of the Energy Crisis

Just as it failed to handle the refugee crisis back in 2015, the European Commission has also botched its response to the rapid rise of energy prices, Fidesz’ European Parliament caucus leader said on Wednesday.

“Hungary does not allow the costs of the energy crisis to be paid for by its citizens, but it has again only been criticized. just as it has been for its effective border protection,” said Kinga Gal, who pointed out in her speech during the plenary session of the European Parliament that the European Commission were unable to deal with the illegal migration crisis in 2015, accumulated errors and was late in taking action.

“Unfortunately, we are now seeing the same thing with regard to the energy crisis, with soaring electricity and gas prices affecting the majority of European citizens. Hungary has already reduced its overheads before that, and it will not allow the costs of the energy crisis to be borne by Hungarian citizens,” she said.

China Blocks All Boston Celtics Games After Enes Kanter Demands “Dictator” Xi “Free Tibet”

Here we go again.

In an incident that echos the controversy unleashed by a seemingly innocuous tweet from then-Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey, the Chinese government has just banned broadcasts of all upcoming games involving the Boston Celtics after one of the NBA’s star players released a recorded message denouncing Chinese President Xi Jinping as a “brutal dictator” and called for the CCP to finally “free” Tibet.

In the nearly three-minute video, Enes Kanter claimed that the CCP has robbed the people of Tibet of their “basic rights” and that Tibetans are “not able to worship freely” amongst a host of other freedoms denied to them by China. “Tibet belongs to the Tibetan people…under the Chinese government’s brutal rule…[their] basic rights are nonexistent.”

New China Law Will Punish Parents for Children’s ‘Bad Behavior’

China has drafted a law that would punish the parents of children who exhibit “very bad behavior” — which would be one of the first laws of its kind anywhere in the modern world.

A spokesman for the Legislative Affairs Commission of China’s parliament, which is often dubbed in the West a “rubber-stamp” institution for the dictates of Communist party leadership, said “There are many reasons for adolescents to misbehave, and the lack of or inappropriate family education is the major cause.”

It comes amid a broader initiative by President Xi and party leaders to stamp out what they’ve dubbed the false “spiritual opium” of Western culture, in reference to everything from internet gaming, to worship of Hollywood celebrities, to pop music, also to things deemed effeminate.

Xi Jinping Praises China’s ‘Democracy’ But Within the Party Some Are Against Him

by Li Qiang

For Xi, the country’s political system is a “great creation”, the key to its global success. However, as the 20th Party congress approaches, tensions are developing with Vice President Wang Qishan and the Shanghai faction, led by Zeng Qinghong.

Beijing (AsiaNews) — According to Xi Jinping, China’s political system is a “great creation” and the key to its global success.

The president spoke yesterday at a meeting of the Chinese Communist Party dedicated to the country’s constitutional structures. In it he stressed that China is ruled by completely democratic processes.

In his address, Xi said that democracy is not reduced to promises made at elections, an ornament or a decoration; “Democracy is for solving the people’s real problems,” he emphasised.

Some analysts view the president’s speech as a response to the United States and its allies, who have slammed China for its human rights violations and repression of dissent…

AP Laments Resistance of African Christians to Same-Sex Marriage

The Associated Press (AP) published a story Wednesday lamenting African Christians’ ongoing opposition to same-sex marriage.

While in the West prominent Protestant churches “have been vocal advocates for same-sex marriage and LGBTQ rights,” writes AP, with “only a few exceptions, this hasn’t happened in Africa, where Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian and Lutheran leaders are among those opposing such inclusion.

In Ghana, for instance, “leaders of major churches have united in denouncing homosexuality as a ‘perversion,’“ and in endorsing harsh anti-LGBTQ legislation, the article states, a position mirrored by Christian denominations around the continent.

Christians throughout Africa overwhelmingly oppose gay marriage and often frame attempts by Westerners to pressure them into accepting it as “cultural imperialism” and “ideological neocolonization.”

In her groundbreaking 2018 work Target Africa: Ideological Neocolonization in the 21st Century, Nigerian biologist and human rights activist Obianuju Ekeocha dedicated an entire chapter to attempts by Western “cultural imperialists who consider themselves ‘our betters’“ to impose a pro-homosexual agenda on Africa.

Eltaeb said that the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back was when DC Comics brass removed “the American way” from Superman’s slogan:

“What really pissed me off was saying truth, justice, and a better world. F*** that; it was ‘truth, justice, and the American way.’“

Facebook Announces New Censorship for Groups

Facebook seems to be attempting to respond to the most recent round of criticism against it and deflect from it by “doing more” with an announcement that new censorship measures are on its way.

This time they concern groups, whose members’ posts will be demoted if Facebook determines that they had violated its guidelines in other places on the giant network — meaning that their group-posted content can still be in line with Facebook’s rules, without having broken any. The downranking will apply to all content posted by these users in a group.

The Author of the Handmaid’s Tale Tweeted a Column Defending the Word ‘Woman’ and the Woke Are Outraged

I don’t think Atwood gets it…yet. A TERF is anyone the woke left decides is the enemy of their agenda. That means the author of the column and, because she shared it, Atwood is now a TERF too. At least she will be unless she recants, which is still a real possibility. Seriously, it’s either walk this back or become a permanent exile online like JK Rowling. Frankly, Atwood has a lot wrapped up in support from the left. It’s not just her book and the ongoing TV show, it’s her entire legacy. I’m not sure she can afford to have her fanbase turn on her over a tweet. Wouldn’t be surprised to see her issue a groveling apology within the next 24 hours.

  1. “The Czech government is responding to the worsening epidemic situation with new measures, with the country’s health minister saying that the measure to charge for testing is designed to push people to get the vaccine.

Minister of Health Adam Vojtech announced that from Oct. 25, people would have to wear face masks at workplaces or mass events, regardless of the number of participants.

The changes will also concern Covid-19 testing. In addition to shortening the validity of antigenic and PCR tests, from November, public health insurance will no longer cover the cost of testing.”

yeeeeah, it’s hilarious how much damages he wants to make before he looses his job with the new government. Not that I expect them to do any better, as it’s gonna rely on Antifa members.

I doubt people are going to pay for the tests. It’s discriminatory to people who are already struggling with money. And obviously it forces you to go for the jab instead, which is against the law. Let’s see how long it takes before someone sues them.

    • Vojtech is gonna have to walk down in the sewers after he leaves office, because I don’t know anyone who would support “his”/”globalist” policies – even jagged Czechs can’t stand this Covid Fascism as far as I can see…

But the flu seems to have come early to Bohemia, the respiratory problems really do rise, the next government is going to pull the Covid Fascism card again, I have no doubt about it. I just hope that we can weather the bureaucratic idiots like we always do 😉
