2 Teachers Face Charges From Entering Wrong Home, Shooting

VERO BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Two newly hired physical education teachers at a Florida elementary school were arrested after the shooting of a man whose apartment they entered thinking it belonged to someone else following a night of drinking.

One of the teachers mistakenly climbed into bed with the man, his wife and their baby, and the other teacher went to the bathroom before the male occupant of the house escorted them out. The teachers believed they had entered the apartment of one of their friends.

While outside, one of the teachers, Darius Cohen, got into a scuffle with the male occupant, which was broken up by the other teacher, Akkua Hallback. While the male resident was returning to his apartment, Cohen chased him and fired four shots, striking him once in the back, according to an arrest affidavit. The man’s injuries were not life threatening.

The encounter last week was caught on security video at the apartment building in Vero Beach, Florida.

The teachers drove off, but someone recognized them on the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page and called Crime Stoppers…

Ahmaud Arbery Case: Seven Facts the Jury Will (Probably) Never Hear

So, those are seven demonstrably true facts surrounding the Ahmaud Arbery case that would appear to provide considerable context around Arbery’s deadly charge at Travis McMichael on February 23, 2020, resulting in Arbery’s death—but which the jury in the trial of Travis McMichael, his father Greg McMichael, and neighbor (and amateur videographer) William “Roddy” Bryan will probably never hear before arriving at verdicts in this case.

Brian Stelter Loses in Ratings to Reruns of the Golden Girls, Spongebob, Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol as Americans Switch Off Fake News CNN

CNN host Brian Stelter has reached a new low in viewers this week, with show Reliable Sources being eclipsed by reruns of popular TV shows in key demographic set.

This past week, Reliable Sources marked its lowest-rated week of the year in the key 25-54 demo with only 85,000 viewers in this category, according to Nielsen Media Research.

This number puts Reliable Sources behind several cartoon repeats including Spongebob, Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol, Bob’s Burgers and even re-runs of 80’s and 90’s hits The Golden Girls and Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Chicago Begins Placing Police Officers on “No-Pay Leave” Status Amid Vaccine Showdown

The Hill is confirming that the Chicago Police Department has begun placing officers on unpaid leave on Monday night into Tuesday for not being in compliance with the department’s Covid mandate to disclose vaccination.

Perhaps wishing to avoid the kind of crime spree chaos sure to unfold by mass firings of officers (even more so than “typical” weekends that see high numbers of shootings), which the police union predicted will be as much as 50% of the force, Mayor Lori Lightfoot has so far indicated a “very small number” of officers have been placed on “no-pay status”. Likely the city’s strategy is to fire small groups of officers in piecemeal fashion in hopes of avoiding the kind of large-scale revolt that’s coming.

DeSantis’s Critics Fall Silent as Florida’s COVID-19 Cases Drop

Florida’s COVID-19 response has been described as reckless , dangerous , and anti-science.

Its Republican governor weathered months of scorn for loosening pandemic restrictions ahead of other state leaders. Its case counts, when on the rise, are often cited by critics as evidence that the entire Republican approach to managing the virus has failed.

But drops in Florida’s case counts invite a fraction of the attention.

New infections per 100,000 residents dropped to 12 over the past week, according to the New York Times coronavirus tracker. Over the past 14 days, cases dropped by 48%.

Other states with far more expansive pandemic restrictions are seeing COVID-19 continue to spread at faster rates than Florida.

In New York, for example, the rate of new cases is more than double that of Florida’s at 25 per 100,000 residents over the past week.

Former Surgeon General Blames Unvaccinated Americans for Death of Colin Powell

Despite him being 84-years-old with an impaired immune system as a result of fighting blood cancer, former Surgeon General Jerome Adams blamed the death of Colin Powell on unvaccinated Americans.

It was announced yesterday that Powell had died form COVID-19 despite being double vaccinated.

Instead of asking whether the fact that Powell being double jabbed raised questions about the long term efficacy of the vaccine, Adams simply went straight to blaming the unvaccinated.

Law Enforcement Blame ‘Defund the Police’, Liberal Prosecutors for Dramatic Spike in Assaults on Police

Law enforcement leaders are pinning blame on the “defund the police” movement and liberal soft-on-crime prosecutors for the dramatic rise of assaults and violence toward police officers in 2020, which increased by 4,000 attacks from 2019.

New FBI statistics show that 60,105 law enforcement officers were assaulted on the job in 2020, with 30.9% of them — 18,568 — suffering injuries as a result. The total number of officers assaulted jumped by 4,071 from 2019, when 56,034 line-of-duty assaults were reported, the FBI said.

The president of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF) Jason Johnson blamed the spike in assaults due to the rise of activist movements, including defund the police, which encouraged the decriminalization of crimes, emboldening criminals and making it harder for police to do their jobs.

Manorville Man Charged in Explosion at Aquebogue Marina, Police Say

A suspected arsonist who apparently missed his target when he set off a late afternoon blast at a marina in Aquebogue last month, has been arrested, Riverhead police said.

An “extensive” investigation by Riverhead detectives and Suffolk’s police arson squad, police said, led to the arrest of Bryan Henry, 44, of Manorville.

The Sept. 12 blast he allegedly set off at about 8 p.m. damaged the side of a building at Light House Marina on Meeting House Creek Road in Aquebogue.

Executing a search warrant, investigators, along with Suffolk emergency services bomb technicians “recovered additional incendiary and bomb making material” from Henry’s home.

“Thus far the investigation revealed the explosion was not a Terroristic Act, and that Larry’s Light House Marina was most likely not the intended target, but the investigation is still on going,” Riverhead police said.

In addition to arson, Henry was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal mischief. His next court appearance is Tuesday, according to the state court website.

New Social Media Platform to Donate $2,900 in Ads to Every Declared Federal Political Candidate Who Joins

In the competitive media space, a new social platform, FreeSpace Social, has announced that it will donate $2,900 in free advertising to every declared federal political candidate who joins as an “in-kind contribution, regardless of party.”

Declared candidates wishing to participate in the free advertising offer on FreeSpace will be required to submit a copy of their FEC declaration form to qualify. Declared candidates will also have their individual FreeSpace profile verified immediately upon receipt and approval of the FEC form.

“Political candidates deserve every opportunity available to present their message to the general public without the stringent rules on political advertising associated with mainstream social networks,” a FreeSpace Social, Inc. press release reads.

The memo mentions that FreeSpace applies “a kind but firm moderation” with account suspensions enforced for all obscene or inappropriate content. However, the company says it demonstrates “a more permissive stance” than its Big Tech counterparts in regards to advertising, particularly alternative health, religious groups, human trafficking organizations, and bi-partisan political campaigns.

Oregon Releases Names, Vaccination Status of 40,000 Individual Employees by ‘Mistake’: Report

The individual names and vaccination statuses of some 40,000 Oregon state employees were mistakenly released to two newspapers, which a labor union is saying breaches an agreement reached with the state last month assuring that the private medical information would remain confidential, according to a report.

The privacy breach reportedly happened Monday, the same day as Gov. Kate Brown’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate deadline for all state employees. Since the governor issued the order in August, The Oregonian/Oregon Live has requested daily information from Brown’s administration on vaccination rates and vaccine exemption rates for each executive branch agency the governor oversees.

SCOTUS Rejects Legal Challenge to Vaccine Mandate for Maine Healthcare Workers

The Supreme Court of the United States has turned down hearing another case relating to the enactment of vaccine mandates. This is the third time it’s happened as such measures are enacted throughout the country.

According to Reuters, SCOTUS Justice Stephen Breyer is the latest to reject a challenge to vaccine mandates. In his case it was for healthcare workers in Maine on religious grounds. Although medical exceptions to Maine’s vaccine requirement are recognized, religious exemptions are not.

Breyer said plaintiffs could make an exemption at a later date.

As outlined by the state of Maine’s website, health care workers had until Oct. 1 to get the jab. But it’s also said that enforcement of the requirement will not come into effect until Oct. 29, the effective date for the vaccine requirement.

Seattle Police Officers Face Vaccine Mandate Deadline, As ‘Costly Litigation’ Next Step for Defunded Force

The some 200 Seattle police officers who have declined to get vaccinated for COVID-19 by Monday’s deadline will likely bring litigation against the city to prevent their mass termination, as the department is already struggling with staffing shortages seriously affecting 911 response.

National Police Association spokeswoman Betsy Brantner Smith, a retired police sergeant, told Fox News Digital on Monday she anticipates some “costly litigation,” as far more police officers will push back than what the city administration understands.

Before Monday’s deadline, Seattle Police Officers Guild’s President Mike Solan said the Seattle Police Department had already lost some 300 officers over the past 18 months, and he anticipated another “mass exodus” in the coming week.

Terrified of Hillbillies

Why did the widespread, plain-to-see, Black Lives Matter violence during the COVID-19 epidemic receive a pass—even occasional praise—while Jan. 6 is treated akin to Pearl Harbor? Actual behavior is irrelevant. The explanation, in my estimation, lies in who the protestors were—blacks vs. Hillbillies. Put bluntly, blacks can riot for months, loot stores by the hundreds, and otherwise run amok; Hillbillies, by contrast, need only arrive in their pick-up trucks, assemble peacefully, and express some patriotic cliche’s, and this inspires dread in the left.

Video: Joe Rogan Accuses Google of ‘Hiding Information’ on Vaccine Deaths

Podcast goliath Joe Rogan has accused Google of covering up information on vaccine related deaths, saying that he could only find legitimate articles on the matter when using other search engines.

Speaking with journalist Alex Berenson, who has been attacked by the leftist media for merely asking questions about the efficacy of COVID vaccines, Rogan said “What is the source of all this? What’s the epicenter of bulls***? … Specifically in my case, where they’re saying, ‘horse dewormer.’ Like why? Who’s doing that?”

Berenson replied, “So there are pollsters out there who are looking at focus groups,” adding “So when they’re talking about ‘horse dewormer,’ there’s somebody out there who’s spending a couple million dollars a month or whatever it is to make sure, that if, oh, this is not for humans, it’s for animals. They are testing all that language, and that is one reason why it sounds so similar.”

“It’s one of the reasons I stopped using Google to search things, too,” Rogan continued, adding “They’re doing something to curate information.”

Nearly 150 Fines, 3 Charges After Kingston Homecoming Party Weekend

Officers in Kingston, Ont., have handed out nearly 150 fines and three criminal charges following illegal parties for Queen’s University’s homecoming weekend.

Those parties include a gathering Kingston police estimate peaked around 8,000 people on Aberdeen Street near the university on Saturday.

Czech Government Set to Drop Tax on Energy as Prices Soar

On Monday, the Czech government authorized Minister of Finance Alena Schillerova to waive the Value Added Tax (VAT) on energy for November and December because of the rising energy prices. Schillerova announced the decision at a press conference after a government meeting on the issue, adding that it will cost the state budget 1 billion korunas (€39.3 million) a month. The VAT rate on energy is now 21 percent.

With this step, the government is responding to rising electricity and gas prices, which are affecting all of Europe. The typical Czech household, which pays 1,000 korunas (€40) a month for electricity, will save about 350 korunas (€14) on their bill for November and December, said Schillerova. The tax waiver is made possible by a provision in the Czech tax code that allows the Minister of Finance to collectively waive the payment of tax in the event of extraordinary events, especially natural disasters.

Italy: Draghi Says Workplace Safety Norms Send ‘Signal’

You can’t save on workers’ lives says PM as spate continues

(ANSA) — ROME, OCT 15 — Premier Mario Draghi said Friday that workplace safety norms recently approved by the government sent the “unequivocal signal that you cannot save (money) at the expense of workers’ lives” after a shocking spate of workplace accident deaths continued with more more fatalities, one near Milan in Lombardy, one near Modena in Emilia-Romagna, one at Sassari in Sardinia and one at Barletta in Puglia.

“ I wish to express the government’s, and my, satisfaction over the workplace safety norms,” said the premier.

“Over the past months we have witnessed an unacceptable number of deaths.

“As the government, we committed ourselves to doing everything possible to prevent these episodes happening again.” Draghi said “the norms are the realisation of this promise. We are increasing the numbers of workplace inspectors, we are stiffening sanctions, we are boosting computerization to improve checks.”

Huawei’s Long Game

In late September, Meng Wanzhou stepped off the Air China plane in Shenzhen to a hero’s welcome. It was the triumphant return of an innocent Chinese tech executive from wrongful imprisonment by the West. The truth is far different.

Meng, a Chinese national, was on Canadian soil in 2018 when the Trump administration began extradition procedures against her as part of a fraud case against both her and her employer, Huawei, for potentially violating U.S. trade sanctions on Iran. In Canada, the imprisonment which she called “an abyss” amounted to wearing an ankle bracelet and enjoying an extended stay in the city of Vancouver, where she, Huawei’s CFO, was free to explore the city by day, while living in her own home there, taking classes in painting and lessons in English.

As a Chinese company with great strategic and commercial importance to Beijing, Huawei has long been regarded with suspicion by western nations for its attempts to dominate the emergence of 5G networking. Its networking products and services compete against those of western firms that are not under the control of their governments. The threats of surveillance and potential cyberattacks from Huawei’s equipment to the telecommunications infrastructure of other nations have long been known.

Cuba Arbitrarily Abused, Arrested Protesters, Human Rights Watch States

MIAMI — Human Rights Watch said on Tuesday that Cuba’s government had arbitrarily arrested, beaten and abused protesters following unprecedented demonstrations earlier this year in a bid to strike fear into the populace and clamp down on dissent.

Thousands of Cubans marched on July 11 in the largest protests to rock the communist-run country since Fidel Castro’s 1959 revolution. Security forces shut down the rallies amid a flurry of arrests and one death. The streets of the island nation have since been largely quiet.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) said it had documented at least 130 cases in which security forces violated due process, beat, sexually abused or forced into solitary confinement citizens participating in rallies it described as “overwhelmingly peaceful anti-government protests.”

EU Weighs Further Sanctions on Belarus Over Illegal Migrants

European Union foreign ministers debated new economic sanctions on Belarus on Monday (18 October), including on airlines, to halt what Brussels says is a deliberate policy by Minsk to fly in thousands of migrants and send them across the border.

The sanctions proposal, first voiced by Latvia on Monday in Luxembourg, was not initially on the agenda for EU foreign ministers and may have been a response to a decision by Belarus to expel France’s ambassador at the weekend, diplomats said.

France said on Monday its ambassador had left Belarus because authorities ended his accreditation after he failed to present credentials to President Alexander Lukashenko, who the EU no longer recognises as legitimate head of state.

“It’s for the greater good” was one of the reasons that Jews in Germany during the 1930s and 1940s were put on trains, sent to camps, and buried in unmarked mass graves after receiving “medical treatment” (and in some cases, “medical experimentation”). Archbishop Vigano: “Vaccine Victims Are Sacrificed at the Altar of Moloch” (Video)

Dr. Robert Moynihan recently interviewed outspoken Italian Archbishop Carlos Maria Viganò on the current developments in the Catholic Church.

Archbishop Vigano: It now seems clear to me that we are facing a siege on both the social and religious front. The so-called emergency pandemic has been utilized as a false pretext to impose the vaccination and Green pass in many nations of the world in a simultaneous and coordinated way… They support them in this wicked plan and go so far as to condemn those who do not accept being subjected to inoculation with an experimental gene serum, with unknown side effects, that does not impart any immunity from the virus, to say nothing of the moral implications related to the presence of genetic material derived from aborted fetuses, which for a Catholic is a more than sufficient reason to refuse the vaccine. We are war, a war that is not openly declared, that is not fought with conventional weapons, but a war all the same… The alliance is not between state and church. But it is between the deep state and deep church.

A recording from the area of Usnarz Górny
The Border Guard published a recording of how foreigners in the area of Usnarz Górny try to get into the territory of Poland and, to this end, destroy the fence erected along the border with Belarus, throwing logs on them.

In the issued communiqué, the Border Guard said that the patrol on duty there in the morning informed that foreigners were forcibly pushing through the border.

About 6 people threw a few logs at the border controls. The migrants threw stones at the officers of the Border Guard and the Army, and officers of the Belarusian services assisted in their actions. Additional patrols of the Border Guard, the Polish Army and the Police were sent to the above-mentioned area

    – told SG.

Foreigners on the Belarusian side had dangerous tools
The officers, she reported, “also noticed that foreigners on the Belarusian side had dangerous tools (ax and knives)”.

    – stated in the release.

16 illegal migrants who broke into Poland by force in accordance with the ordinance of the Ministry of Interior and Administration were returned to the border with Belarus

We are talking about the regulation that entered into force on August 21 and amended the regulation of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, originally introduced last year in connection with the pandemic. According to it, people who meet certain conditions are entitled to enter Poland from abroad. The amendment introduced provisions stating that other persons who do not have the right to enter are instructed about the obligation to immediately leave the territory of the Republic of Poland, and that in the event of disclosure of these persons in a suspended or restricted border crossing and outside the territorial range of the border crossing, they are returned to the line state border.
