Gates of Vienna News Feed 9/20/2021

Members of the Australian construction workers’ union CFMEU confronted the leader of the organization on Monday outside his Melbourne office, outraged that he would not support workers in their struggle against mandatory “vaccination”. When he was forced to retreat inside the offices, angry workers broke windows and trashed the outside of the building. This morning (Tuesday in Australia) they returned to the scene and confronted him again. In response, Victorian Premier Daniel “Dictator Dan” Andrews shut down all construction projects in the state.

In other news, early this morning a student at Perm University in Russia walked onto campus and started shooting people, killing six before he was shot by police and detained.

Chicago Weekend Violence Includes 56 Shooting Victims, 9 Murders and Alderman Attacked at ‘Problem Corner’

Chicago’s weekend bloodshed included nine murders and 56 shooting victims — but the violence didn’t stop there, as an alderman visiting a known “problem corner” was assaulted by a group of men who appeared intoxicated and high on illicit drugs.

From 6 p.m. Friday to just before midnight Sunday night, Chicago police recorded 46 shooting incidents, involving 56 victims. Nine murders were recorded during that time.

Chicago Mayor Lightfoot’s $16 Billion Budget Proposal Includes More Spending on Police Amid Gun Violence Spike

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Monday unveiled her 2022 budget proposal, which includes increased spending on law enforcement amid surging gun violence not seen in several years.

The mayor’s $16 billion spending package boosts police spending to $1.9 billion, up from $1.7 billion in 2021, the Chicago Tribune reported. The proposal came after a bloody weekend that saw nine homicides across the city, 56 people shot and an alderman attacked.

[Comment: I guess she is not a daft as the mayors of Portland and Seattle, but that is setting a very low bar.]

County Meetings Pulled by YouTube

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) — YouTube has taken the unusual step of taking down a Michigan county’s public meeting for violating its policies on medical misinformation.

YouTube’s policy does not allow content that spreads medical misinformation that contradicts local health authorities or the world health organization’s medical information about COVID-19. During Livingston County’s April meeting, one woman questioned whether COVID-19 existed. The World Health Organization says the virus is responsible for killing more than 4.6 million people. Then it happened again. YouTube took down an August 9 meeting.

“I have read plenty of data saying masks aren’t effective for COVID and I am not shy about sharing my point of view so maybe it is that,” said Wes Nakagiri.

Court Asked to Suspend Law Licenses of Gun-Waving Couple

St. Louis — A Missouri official is asking the state Supreme Court to suspend the law licenses of a St. Louis couple who gained national attention last year when they waved guns at racial injustice protesters outside their home.

Missouri Chief Disciplinary Counsel Alan Pratzel, in a court filing reported by KCUR-FM, cited Mark and Patricia McCloskey’s guilty pleas to misdemeanors stemming from the June 2020 encounter. Pratzel’s office is responsible for investigating ethical complaints against Missouri lawyers.

Mark McCloskey, who is among several Republican candidates for U.S. Senate in 2022, pleaded guilty in June to misdemeanor fourth-degree assault and was ordered to pay a $750 fine. Patricia McCloskey pleaded guilty to misdemeanor harassment and was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson pardoned them on July 30. Pratzel’s motion said that while a pardon erases a person’s conviction, “the person’s guilt remains.”

ICs for Uncle

Internal combustion-powered vehicles aren’t going away. They are being taken away — from us. But not from them — the ones taking them away from us.

Those people — government people — will continue to drive (or be driven around in) the gas-guzzliest internal combustion-powered vehicles conceivable — a literal handful of specially built Chevy Suburbans designed for the elite.

The latter being a misnomer — as is almost axiomatically the case with anything having to do with government.

They are “elite” in the sense of being a few, certainly. But they are not elite in the sense that Jefferson meant — as regards talent. Assuming you exclude their relentless, pathological urge to control others and their olympian cognitive dissonance as regards what they say vs. what they do.

Especially to us…

Instagram’s Adam Mosseri Says Regulation Could Lead to Mass Censorship on the Platform

In a recent interview, the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, warned about censorship on the platform if the government was allowed to regulate social media. The remark was in response to a report that Facebook knows Instagram can be toxic for teenagers and can be seen as ironic when considering Instagram’s constant censorship.

On September 14, the Wall Street Journal published a report suggesting that Facebook (which owns Instagram) is aware that Instagram can be toxic for teenagers, especially young girls. In an appearance in Peter Kafka’s podcast from Recode, Mosseri defended Instagram.

Judge Sets New Whitmer Kidnap Case Trial Date in Federal Court

A federal judge Monday reset next month’s trial of five men accused of plotting to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to March 8 to give defense lawyers more time to prepare and investigate the conduct of FBI agents.

The move by U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker comes three days after defense lawyers requested a delay due to a large amount of evidence and questions about whether FBI agents and as many as 12 informants drove the conspiracy and entrapped the defendants. Defense lawyers also have raised questions about whether another FBI agent had an undisclosed financial incentive.

DICKINSON COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) — Two protests were held in opposition to the new mask mandate announced last week for Dickinson and Iron County Public Schools. Concerned citizens and parents gathered in Norway and Kingsford to protest mask mandates in schools today. Protestors say they have one goal in mind, to end the mandate.

Michigan Republican Candidate for Governor Banned by YouTube

Michigan Republican gubernatorial hopeful Garrett Soldano says he’s been permanently banned from YouTube, a social media platform he’s used to build a following by questioning the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

YouTube said in an email to Soldano early Monday that his channel included “severe or repeated violations” of the company’s community guidelines.

YouTube didn’t identify which specific policies the Mattawan chiropractor and anti-lockdown activist had broken, but the guidelines prohibit content “that contradicts local health authorities’ or the World Health Organization’s medical information about COVID-19.”

Mitt Romney Slams Tucker Carlson for Visiting Hungary and Praising Viktor Orban’s Leadership

On Friday last week, veteran Republican senator from Utah, Mitt Romney, has personally delved into the debate about the soul of Hungarian democracy, a topic that seems to have become a demarcation-line between the world’s warring political factions.

In a speech at Brigham Young University’s Wheatley Institution in Utah marking Constitution Day, the senator warned that constitutional “guardrails” are at risk. He has also unexpectedly turned his attention to whom he only referred to as a “Fox News personality”, who had recently paid a visit to Hungary, where he met and interviewed Hungarian conservative Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Polish PM Condemns Violent Attack on Priest

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki condemned the brutal attack on Father Marcin from Szczecin in a post on social media.

The incident took place on the morning of Sept. 15, and involved a 30-year-old man destroying the vestibule of a local church, including an antique cross, incensory, and church font. The man then attacked the priest. The police and prosecutor’s office are currently investigating the affair.

“I spoke with Father Marcin of the Saint Joseph parish in Szczecin. On Wednesday, he was taken to hospital due to the physical assault he suffered. The priest was a victim of the aggression of a man who had earlier destroyed a crucifix in the church. When Father Marcin defended the church and symbols of faith, he was beaten up. Thankfully, the culprit is already in police custody, and I hope he receives appropriate punishment,” Morawiecki wrote on Facebook.

Europe Faces Rising Prices and Unrest, But EU’s Timmermans Still Defends Green Politics

Steeply rising energy prices are starting to affect the mood of Europeans, who are beginning to protest against further increases in the cost of living. Governments of individual member states respond to fears of unrest, for example, by capping prices or tax breaks. The United Kingdom faces an energy collapse due to a lack of electricity, which made the country resume the operation of its “dirty” coal-fired power plant.

However, the European Commission, as the architect of radical climate plans, continues to defend its policy head-on. The Green Deal’s chief architect and the commission Vice-President Frans Timmermans is convinced that expensive emission allowances do not lead to problems and the redistribution is the way to prevent drastic financial consequences for the poorer population.

Writing in Soros-Funded Blog, Left-Wing Budapest Mayor Compares Hungarian Government to Communists

In a lengthy article for the US news portal Project Syndicate, Gergely Karacsony, the liberal mayor of Budapest, had presented a textbook example of how to signal your intent towards the Western progressive elite that you want to join forces: call Viktor Orban corrupt, bash “nativist populism” and hold your climate credentials high.

Project Syndicate, which is sponsored by George Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF), has given a platform to exactly such a political virtue signaling for the mayor, who is running for the prime minister’s office in next year’s Hungarian elections. In the article entitled “How Democracy Can Win Again”, Karacsony complains about “democratic erosion and state capture in Hungary”. Despite his party Dialogue’s (Parbeszéd) motto being: “The future is green, and left-wing”, and being in a coalition with the Socialists, he complains about alleged communist rhetoric from the governing conservatives. Amazing, this whole time that the conservatives thought they were fighting against communism, they were the “real” communists all along.

Zemmour Would Ban Foreign Names in France

Names like Mohammad could be banned if popular French author and commentator Éric Zemmour won the presidency in upcoming elections.

Although Zemmour has not even declared his candidacy yet, he made the proposal while promoting his new book, where he argues that parents should only be allowed to name their children approved French names.

“I will reintroduce the law of 1803. The Frenchman will no longer have the right to name his son Muhammad,” Zemmour outlined, noting that it was also a mistake to allow names from the Anglo-Saxon nations, such as Kevin.

Russia Shooting: Gunman Kills Six at Perm University

A gunman has killed six people and injured 28 others at a university in the Russian city of Perm.

The assailant, identified as a student at the university, walked on to campus on Monday morning and started shooting.

Students and teachers barricaded themselves inside the university building, while others were seen screaming and jumping from windows.

Authorities said the attacker was shot in an exchange of gunfire with a police officer and then detained.

Officer Konstanin Kalinin, who was one of the first to arrive at the scene, disarmed the assailant, who had a gun and a knife, before administering first aid.

In a statement, President Vladimir Putin called the shooting “a great loss not only for the families who lost their children but for the whole country.”

Taliban Fire Director of Afghan Cricket Board

KABUL, Afghanistan — The Taliban have sacked the executive director of Afghanistan’s cricket board.

Hamid Shinwari posted on his official Facebook page Monday he had been fired by Anas Haqqani, the younger brother of the Taliban’s new Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani.

He said he was not given any reason for his dismissal, but was told he would be replaced by Naseebullah Haqqani.

It isn’t clear if the new Afghanistan Cricket Board chief is a relative of Sirajuddin Haqqani, who is sought by the FBI for questioning in connection with several high profile attacks on Kabul during the Taliban’s 20-year war with successive U.S.-backed governments.

The Taliban’s order banning women from sports — including cricket — has caused an international backlash. The Australian Cricket Board last week canceled a match with Afghanistan’s cricket team to protest the banning of women from sports in Afghanistan.

The official Facebook page of the Afghanistan Cricket Board also announced Naseebullah Haqqani as the new executive director…

Anti-Vaccination Protests Force Melbourne Construction Shutdown

Melbourne’s construction industry is shutting down for at least two weeks amid concerns that extremist groups who have infiltrated the union movement are behind violent anti-vaccination protests in Australia’s second-largest city.

“We have seen appalling behavior on site and on our streets, and now we’re acting decisively and without hesitation,” Victoria state Industrial Relations Minister Tim Pallas said in an emailed statement, announcing the closure from Tuesday. Concerns had been raised about the sector’s compliance with public health measures and directions.

Melbourne, which is in the midst of a sixth round of stay-at-home orders amid an outbreak of the delta variant of the coronavirus, saw violent anti-lockdown protests on Saturday in which young men were seen scuffling with police that led to more than 200 arrests.

Then on Monday, hundreds of construction workers protested against state government’s orders — backed by the union movement — to enforce mandatory Covid-19 vaccinations for people employed in the industry from Sept. 24. Bottles and crates were thrown at the union leaders.

A pair of Algerian men were found guilty and sentenced by a Belgian court last week for the roles they played in the gruesome murder of a gay man in 2009.

A court in the French-speaking city of Liège last Friday sentenced Algerian nationals Fethi Rezzioui, aged 39, and Ahmed Freha, aged 38, for their roles in the murder of Luc Verheyen, a 45-year-old gay Belgian man, who was stabbed to death in his own home in Grce-Hollogne in 2009, RTC reports.

The two convicts, who were identified in connection to the murder years after it had taken place via physical evidence found at the crime scene, are said to have taken Verheyen to his home where they engaged in sexual activity before Fethi Rezzioui went on to stab the man to death.

Texas Doctor Who Performed Abortion is Sued in Test of New Law

A Texas doctor who publicly said he performed an abortion was sued Monday in state court by two different plaintiffs, handing Texas the first tests of its new abortion law.

The Texas law bans abortions after about six weeks of gestation when a fetal heartbeat can be detected, and it deputizes private citizens to sue anyone they believe may have aided such a procedure and collect $10,000. It went into effect Sept. 1.

Alan Braid, a San Antonio physician, said in a Washington Post opinion essay Saturday that he had performed an abortion in defiance of the law earlier this month.

  1. Dan Andrews is like an abusive boyfriend. Doesn’t matter what he does many “still love him” . When he gets up and lies, they still believe him, even when they see before and after videos. Nothing is going to change, teachers have done their brainwashing.

  2. The murderer in Perm is an ethnic Tatar. Before that, another ethnic Tatar staged a shooting in a college in Kazan, and not so long ago, an ethnic Tatar staged a mass slaughter of soldiers.
It seems that they were not religious. But some conspiracy theorists write about megalomania implanted among this nation.

  3. I have a secret but don’t tell anybody

if you want to be elected in any of these Western caliphates, where Muslim brotherhood and Islam thrive. For jihadis it’s always spring no winter, then build more mosques promote more jihadis build houses exclusively for Muslims . Invite them put them in hotels spend on them $78 m just for three days. Don’t get them . give them money open TV stations for them radio stations. Immigration will not stop no matter what covid or no covid. Invite half a million Muslims every year for the next thousand years and they will guarantee you and your descendants to stay in power don’t care about your flesh and blood they are brain dead.

they don’t know how to resist and if the Muslims are ungrateful and bomb here and there don’t pay attention. play it down. Give them nominal sentences. But harsh sentences for non-muslims to be a lesson for them not to scratch a Muslim.

Teach your own people to say sir to the new Masters and to embrace the religion of peace which we call it but they don’t call it peaceful they say if it were peaceful we wouldn’t be revered, nay, worshiped in the West

that’s why we dictate our wins on the infidels and they obey and feel subjugated that’s what we want that’s what they want infidels hopes are realized after WE arrived in the West.
