Consumer Prices Post Smaller-Than-Expected Increase in August

Prices for an array of consumer goods rose less than expected in August in a sign that inflation may be starting to cool, the Labor Department reported Tuesday.

The consumer price index, which measures a basket of common products as well as various energy goods, increased 5.3% from a year earlier and 0.3% from July. A month ago, prices rose 0.5% from June.

Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been expecting a 5.4% annual rise and 0.4% on the month.

Americans Support Governors’ Revolt Against Federal Vaccine Mandate, Poll Shows

New polling shows that the majority of Americans do not approve of President Joe Biden’s new vaccine mandate.

Biden announced the mandate last week, which includes requirements that any business with more than 100 employees ensure they are vaccinated or be tested weekly. Biden’s announcement included a range of other federal rules that are estimated to affect 100 million Americans.

Convention of States Action released new polling Monday that showed 58.6% of those surveyed “do not believe President Biden has the constitutional authority to force private businesses to require vaccine mandates for employees.”

Carlson Warns: “If the Powers That be Can Force You to Get a Shot, What Can’t They Make You Take”

Tucker Carlson warned Monday that vaccine mandates are “about power,” adding that “these demands are so obviously irrational, that forcing you to accept them without complaint is the whole point of the exercise.”

In another impassioned monologue, Carlson note that “it is a form of sadomasochism, it is dominance and submission. It’s about power. If they can make you take medicine you don’t want or need, they’ve won. You are theirs. You belong to them. They want this.”

Carlson stated that “vaccines — which are far less effective than we were told they were initially, potentially dangerous for some, and completely unnecessary for tens of millions of others — are now, nevertheless, mandatory for virtually everyone in America.”

Johnston School Board Didn’t Discuss Mask Policy, But Parents, Politicians Did

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — The fight over masks in schools turned political on Tuesday, when local and national candidates rallied dozens of Johnston County parents protesting the local policy requiring students to cover their faces in class.

Republican 11th District Congressman Madison Cawthorn and candidates Bo Hines, who’s running for a U.S. House seat in Charlotte and Robby Starbuck, who’s running for one in Nashville, Tenn., headlined the rally before the Johnston County Board of Education meeting.

“Are you tired of tyrannical school boards run by Marxists?” Starbuck asked. “Are you going to allow your parental rights be stripped from you?”

“We are going on offense to take our country back,” Cawthorn declared to the cheering crowd.

Lawsuit Accusing Tech Giants of Spying is Allowed to Proceed

These days, this is past the point of being big news, though it is very newsworthy: reports are saying that yet more lawsuits have been filed in the US, alleging that companies like Google, Amazon, and Apple are spying on their users.

Of course they do, cynics will say: that’s how they make money; they “have to” — just look at their business models (although Apple’s PR machine would beg to differ, even if the giant’s actions of late are beginning to speak louder than its words.)

The latest class action lawsuit that just got a go-ahead from a federal judge focuses on Big Tech’s growing ecosystem of “smart speakers” and “virtual assistants” like Apple’s Siri, with plaintiffs alleging that their devices end up listening on their private conversations when they are unaware of this, thanks to “accidental activation” — as well as that this is happening often enough, or “routinely” as they put it, to represent a real threat to their privacy.

‘Milley Must Resign’: Stunned Reactions to Report That Top General Secretly Circumvented Trump

The military community erupted Tuesday in response to reports that Gen. Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, held secret phone calls and meetings in a surreptitious effort to sidestep the authority of his then-commander-in-chief, President Donald Trump.

“If this is true GEN Milley must resign,” tweeted Alexander Vindman, a retired Army lieutenant colonel who in 2019 was a key witness against Trump in impeachment hearings.

Milley’s actions include making secret calls to the chief military officer in Beijing, and summoning top American military officers to a clandestine gathering to demand that they only obey command orders that came through Milley, according to the authors of a forthcoming book.

Narrative Nuked: Nearly Half of ‘COVID Hospitalizations’ This Year Have Been Mild or Asymptomatic Cases

A brand new study is calling into question how reliable and meaningful of a number of “patients hospitalized with Covid-19” in the U.S. is.

Covid hospitalizations — the most common metric heard when discussing the seriousness of the pandemic — may not be nearly as meaningful of a number as many once thought. And don’t take it from us: The Atlantic published a stunning piece on Tuesday citing a new study that suggests “almost half of those hospitalized with COVID-19 have mild or asymptomatic cases”.

The Atlantic had formerly called Covid hospitalizations “the most reliable pandemic number,” last winter. Now, after a nationwide study of hospitalization records was release, the publication is walking back its fervor on that statement.

Poll Finds Vaccinated Americans Significantly More Likely to Dump Their Friends Over Stance on COVID-19 Jab

A new poll finds that vaccinated Americans are far more likely to permanently sever relationships with friends over their opinion on the COVID-19 jab than those who haven’t been vaccinated.

According to the OnePoll survey, 14 per cent of Americans who have been vaccinated have axed a friend from their life due to a difference of opinion on the issue.

“Of those who ended a friendship, 66 percent are vaccinated and 17 percent don’t ever plan to receive the shot,” reports Study Finds. “Fourteen percent of vaccinated respondents — about 1 in 7 — say they parted ways with friends who didn’t want to get the vaccine.”

In other words, those who are most submissive to peer pressure when it comes to taking the shot are also the most intolerant of those who exercise their bodily autonomy in declining to get jabbed.

Texas Hospital Faces Closure Over Vaccine Mandate, CEO Says

By Becker Hospital Review

Nearly 140 rural hospitals have closed since 2010, and the federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate could force at least one more to shut its doors.

President Joe Biden’s administration is taking steps to require millions of American workers, including certain healthcare workers, to get a COVID-19 vaccine. The plan requires those who work at hospitals and other types of medical facilities that receive Medicare and Medicaid funding to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Brownfield (Texas) Regional Medical Center, a rural hospital, will lose up to 25 percent of its employees if the vaccine mandate is enforced, CEO Jerry Jasper told KCBD.

Two Far-Left Activists Convicted of Interfering With Track Control Systems in Washington

Last year I wrote about two far-left activists who had been caught tampering with train tracks near Bellingham, Washington. Samantha Frances Brooks, 24, and Ellen Brennan Reiche, 28, were caught placing what is called a shunt on the tracks. A shunt is basically just a piece of wire which is connected from one side of the track to the other. That action mimics the electrical signal that is generated when a train passes over the tracks and confuses the automatic control system which is designed to prevent trains from crashing into one another.

‘Canada Has Fallen’: Calgary Pastor Unrepentant at His Sentencing for COVID-19 Breach

GRAVELAND — An Alberta pastor who, along with his brother, was found guilty of contempt after deliberately violating COVID-19 health orders has told a judge that he is a political prisoner who is being persecuted by Alberta Health Services.

Artur Pawlowski said during a seven-minute statement at his sentencing hearing on Tuesday that he and his brother, Dawid, have done nothing wrong.

“I am here before this court as a political prisoner of conscience,” he said before Justice Adam Germain. “The AHS and the politicians have found a new way of penalizing anyone that is opposing their unconstitutional medical tyranny. They hate the idea that they have been exposed for what they really are: liars, hypocrites and cheaters,” he said.

“I have heard from my grandparents about similar tactics from the time of the Nazis, persecuting churches and the clergy. Canada has fallen. Sure you can lock us up and throw the key away, but our political imprisonment will shout even louder about the hypocrisy.”

Winnipeg Mother Describes Night Her Son Was Fatally Stabbed

WINNIPEG — Warning: This story contains content that may be disturbing to some readers.

The mother of a Winnipeg child who was stabbed to death in his sleep nearly two years ago took the stand at her ex-boyfriend’s trial.

Daniel Jensen has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the November 2019 death of three-year-old Hunter Smith-Straight.

The jury heard the boy’s mom, Clarice Smith, had concerns about her safety following a fight she had with Jensen the day before Hunter was stabbed.

As the end of the October 2019 approached Smith, 34, told the jury she planned to move out of a second-floor suite she shared on Pritchard Ave. to go back to her home community of Manigotagan to live with family.

Smith testified she was going to relocate with Hunter and Jensen, whom she’d been dating for seven months. Jensen’s now accused of stabbing and killing Hunter in his sleep in the early morning hours of Oct. 30, 2019. It’s the Crown’s position Jensen did so because he got mad at Smith.

“He said, ‘I’ll get your son taken away from you,’“ Smith testified. “I got mad and punched him three times.”

She told the jury the fight happened Oct. 29 while, instead of moving, the couple spent the day drinking with a group of friends and Smith’s family at a casino and some Winnipeg bars…

Numerous Foreign Entities and Soros-Back NGOs Operating in Hungary: Report

Hungary has become an area of operation for foreign influence groups ahead of the 2022 elections, Marton Béke’s, director of the 21st Century Institute think tank, wrote in a security policy paper.

In the face of more than a decade of governance that has simultaneously defended and even expanded national sovereignty and democratic self-determination, opposing parties have sought to take action on a number of occasions, the analysis reports.

While in the early 2010s, the Hungarian government simultaneously defended national sovereignty and democratic self-determination was mostly opposed by states whose economic influence in Hungary was at stake, in the second half of the last decade the threat came mostly from European Union bodies and influence operations and NGOs backed by billionaire George Soros, the author points out.

If ministers back the move, some three million more children — on top of the 16— and 17-year-olds already allowed to be vaccinated — could be offered the jab from as early as next week.

Analysis: Afghan Population in U.S. Explodes, Majority Live on Welfare

The Afghan population in the United States has exploded in recent decades as a majority of Afghan immigrants in the U.S. live on at least one major form of welfare, funded by American taxpayers.

Italy: Rimini Knife Attack Wasn’t Terrorism Says Lamorgese

Asylum seeker stabbed five people, including small child

(ANSA) — ROME, SEP 13 — Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese said Monday that Saturday’s shocking knife attack in Rimini by a Somali asylum seeker in which five people, including a small child, were injured, was not an act of terrorism.

“We have ruled out terrorism,” Lamorgese said after taking part in a meeting of a security committee in the Adriatic city.

“While this episode was taking place and as we followed it from Rome, the European police forces were contact with each other to have certainty about this.

“It was an extremely serious criminal episode”.

The child, a six-year-old with Bangladeshi roots who was playing in a street, suffered stab wounds to the throat.

The boy was able to speak to his parents and did not show any signs of brain damage after undergoing surgery, the local health authority said on Sunday.

The 26-year-old asylum seeker faces charges of attempted homicide, grievous bodily harm and attempted robbery.

He went on the rampage of violence after being asked to show a valid ticket, which he did not have, while travelling on a bus on the Rimini sea front.

He reportedly said afterwards that he was under the influence of cocaine.

“This episode certainly should not have happened but it could have happened in any part of Italy or Europe,” Lamorgese added. “He was obviously a disturbed person and all the relevant checks from a psychiatric point of view are being done”.

League leader Matteo Salvini has upped his calls for Lamorgese to resign in the light of the attack.

Salvini, whose party supports the government, has been repeatedly taking aim at Lamorgese for her handling of the arrival of migrant boats from North Africa.

Macron Doing Nothing to Stop Illegal Channel Crossings, Warns MP as He Backs Patel

EMMANUEL Macron is making little effort to prevent migrants from attempting hazardous crossings of the English Channel in flimsy dinghies — so Britain needs to “take matters into its own hands”, an MP has said.

Matt Vickers backed Home Secretary Priti Patel after she unveiled plans to begin turning boats back before they reached UK shores — with the member for Stockton South suggesting such an approach would target “heartless people smugglers” who facilitate their dangerous journeys. Mr Vickers was speaking on the day it was revealed almost 2,000 migrants arrived in the UK in the last week, setting a new record in a year which has seen at least 14,400 people have crossed the Channel in small boats.

Only 19% of Migrants Ordered to Leave the EU Actually Go Home: Report

The audit report published on Monday by the European Court of Auditors (ECA) noted that in the last five years, only a fifth of people who were not entitled to reside in the EU have been returned to their countries of origin.

According to the auditors, the Union can significantly improve both the negotiations with these countries and its coordination of return policy.

Decentralized ID Service Spruce Backed by Ethereum Foundation to Challenge Big-Tech Login Buttons

Ethereum Foundation (EF) and Ethereum Name Service (ENS) are working on a “decentralized solution” for user data as a way of challenging the Big Tech “Login with Google” and “Login with Facebook” systems.

As technology behemoths, Google and Facebook have grown in popularity, and incidents of user data being compromised have increased — one of the most visible examples being the Cambridge Analytica saga.

Unfortunately, the majority of people, however, cannot imagine life without them, and by giving these companies information, and using the same login for other apps, user data is being centralized.

Internal Study Finds 32% of Teen Girls Say “Instagram Makes Me Feel Bad About My Body”

When it comes to the spreading “FOMO” and feelings of insecurity and jealousy among younger Americans — especially teenagers — Instagram is perhaps the worst offender in the entire social-media ecosystem.

And that assessment isn’t coming from a third party, but from Facebook’s own internal research (Facebook bought Instagram back in 2012) which was leaked to a team of WSJ reporters, who on Tuesday published the first of what they say will be a series of deep dives on Instagram and Facebook’s impact on teen mental health, the political discourse and human trafficking.

The EU is Wealthy… and Weak

Even if Europe is unable to do so, Hungary must protect its interests, Magyar Hirlap columnist Mariann Ory writes

“They are wealthy and weak — the most dangerous combination,” Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in a recent speech, summarizing his opinion of the European Union as a whole.

The prime minister has demonstrated with hard facts that the EU’s rivals are pulling away from Europe: in 2007, the EU’s share of world GDP was over 25 percent, shrinking to 18 percent by 2020 in little more than a decade. In 2007, 81 percent of the global investment was in the West, or went from the West to the East, and only 17 percent of global investment was from an Eastern source. In 2019, the share was 31 percent for the West and 66 percent for the East, quoting Orban.

Why would it be any different? The liberal elite of the EU is convinced that the intellectual culmination of its existence is to blackmail member states for the sake of gender and LGBTQ lobbying by cloaking its political views as a concern for the rule of law. Brussels is quite shockingly detached from reality, devoting time and energy to the above issues while EU competitiveness is only a shadow of its former self.

3 thoughts on “Gates of Vienna News Feed 9/14/2021

  1. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson praised vaccine passports, saying that they were a “game-changer”.

I thought the sentence would go like this: Boris Johnson praised himself and his dedicated pilots who performed a feat of flying 120,000 Afghani muslims ( regardless of having any kind of papers or docs) to the Britstan islamic island, which is an extension of Pakistan in the west of Europestan.

No honor. No women. No land. No entity.

  2. VACCINATION AND IMMUNITY
Just because someone has had a jab it does not necessarily mean they will develop immunity. This is more likely in the elderly as they have weak immune systems. 15 years ago I had the Hep B vaccines (2 or 3 jabs) then had a blood test a few years after and found I was still not immune and had to have another one! Those with poor immune systems do not develop immunity. No one gets checked after vaccines to confirm they are immune.

    • It’d difficult to extract percentages from the incomplete statistics above, but it does appear that the majority of the vaccinated residents did not become infected.
