“I Demand Accountability”

Stu Scheller is (or was) a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps. Lt. Col. Scheller showed that he has [manly attributes] as big as pickle jar lids by doing that rarest of things for a serviceman on active duty: publicly calling out his superiors in the chain of command, as well as the country’s political leadership, for the disastrous policies that resulted in the deaths of thirteen US servicemen in yesterday’s terrorist attack in Kabul.

Marine Corps Officer Fired After Demanding Accountability From Biden Admin Over Kabul

At roughly 9 PM last night, Marine Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Scheller posted a video on social media that criticized Biden’s failings with the Afghanistan withdrawal.

The military man of seventeen years also acknowledged he was risking his career speaking out. It was a prediction that came true, in a story spotted by Task & Purpose.

“To all my friends across the social networks. I have been relieved for cause based on a lack of trust and confidence as of 14:30 today,” Scheller announced on Facebook.

Sweden Greets the Taliban!

Many thanks to LN for translating this article from Fria Tider:

Afghans sentenced to deportation were “evacuated” back to Sweden

August 26, 2021

Two of the Afghans who were flown to Sweden on evacuation flights were previously found to have been deported from Sweden for crime, TV4 Nyheterna reports.

The two Afghans were arrested on Wednesday when they arrived on an evacuation flight from Afghanistan to Arlanda.

They have been arrested for violating the re-entry ban.

“I think that everyone who has seen the pictures from Kabul and the airport realizes that the situation is not entirely simple when it comes to conducting border control there,” says Carina Skagerlind, a spokesperson for the police in the Stockholm region, to TV4 Nyheterna.

The criminal Afghans will now apparently be allowed to stay in Sweden, as Afghans are no longer deported.

Foreign Minister Ann Linde announced this morning that as of that time Sweden had evacuated more than 900 people from Kabul.

Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/26/2021

The death toll of US military personnel as a result of today’s terror attack outside Kabul Airport has been revised upwards to thirteen. President Joe Biden expressed his determination to bring the terrorists to justice, saying: “We will hunt you down and make you pay.”

In other news, the US Supreme Court has overturned the Biden administration’s COVID-related ban on evictions.

The Afghan Crisis, Turkey, and Washington’s Global War on Terrorism

The following essay by David Boyajian was written before today’s massive terrorist attack outside the airport in Kabul, in which twelve American troops (eleven Marines and a medic, if I’m not mistaken) were killed, along with dozens of Afghan civilians, and possibly also British troops and Taliban guards. It’s not yet clear how this atrocity will change the political calculus; it introduces a new stochastic aspect into the already volatile mix, making predictions difficult.

The Afghan Crisis, Turkey, and Washington’s Global War on Terrorism

by David Boyajian

As America’s presence in Afghanistan draws to a close and the 20th anniversary of 9/11 approaches, it’s worthwhile to consider the countries that sponsor global terrorism and Washington’s response to them.

One country stands out: Turkey.

NATO is purportedly a bulwark against attacks on Western civilization.

Yet NATO member Turkey has long supported ISIS and numerous other anti-Western terrorist organizations.

Turkey has been arming terrorists and sending them into countries such as Syria, Libya, and Azerbaijan.

For example, in 2020 Turkey transported terrorist mercenaries into Azerbaijan, which then deployed them against Armenian-populated Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabagh. These included former ISIS commander Sayf Balud and war criminals such Fehim Isa of the Sultan Murad Brigade.

One hundred bipartisan members of Congress (2021) and the European Union Parliament (2020) have condemned Turkey and Azerbaijan for that.

In contrast, the State Department has said little and done nothing about those two countries’ blatant use of terrorist thugs. Does Washington still have a Global War on Terrorism?

The U.S. is concerned that ISIS-K (an ISIS affiliate) and Al-Qaeda will remain in Afghanistan after America departs and become a threat to America.

Hence, Turkey’s support for ISIS and other terrorists is relevant to the Afghan debacle.

Moreover, Turkish President Erdogan just admitted that he’s comfortable talking to the Taliban “since Turkey has nothing against the Taliban’s beliefs.” The State Department has apparently not reacted to this stunning confession. That’s disturbing.

Turkey’s terrorist record goes back years.

Turkey’s counterterrorism chief from 2010-13 says: Ahmet S. Yayla, “Turkey was a central hub for … over 50,000 ISIS foreign fighters, and the main source of ISIS logistical materials [including] IEDs, making Turkey and ISIS practically allies.”

This makes NATO itself look like an ISIS supporter.

I Won!

I’ve been watching video clips from press conferences on the débacle in Afghanistan, led by Jen Psaki, Antony Blinken, and other flunkies of the Biden administration. I can’t tolerate much of that stuff, and usually only watch a little bit, but I read most of the transcripts. And, like most people, I have come to the conclusion that the administration’s spokescreatures are totally divorced from reality. Maybe they’re on drugs; who knows?

While reading a transcript this morning I was reminded of the last two lines of the poem “Crow’s Fall” by the late Ted Hughes (from Crow, 1971). I hadn’t read the poem for a long time, so I rolled the big ladder over to the poetry section of the library here at Schloss Bodissey, climbed up to the top, and pulled down my ancient copy of the book, which is now worn and bedraggled and held together by scotch tape.

The poem turns out to be fairly apropos, and also politically incorrect. And others in the book are even more triggering — “Two Eskimo Songs”, for example. If Mr. Hughes were alive today, he would surely be cancelled. And they may yet dig him up so that his corpse can be publicly shunned.

Crow’s Fall

by Ted Hughes

When Crow was white he decided the sun was too white.
He decided it glared much too whitely.
He decided to attack it and defeat it.

He got his strength flush and in full glitter.
He clawed and fluffed his rage up.
He aimed his beak direct at the sun’s centre.

He laughed himself to the centre of himself

And attacked.

At his battle cry trees grew suddenly old,
Shadows flattened.

But the sun brightened—
It brightened, and Crow returned charred black.

He opened his mouth but what came out was charred black.

“Up there,” he managed,
“Where white is black and black is white, I won.”

I noticed in the credits at the front of the book that this poem was first published in The New Yorker, of all places.

Belgian Military Protection of Jewish Sites to be Withdrawn

Many thanks to Gary Fouse for translating this article from the Belgian Jewish daily Joods Actueel:

No extra security measures after withdrawal of soldiers out of Jewish neighborhood on September 1

August 20, 2021

In spite of earlier promises to guarantee the security of the Jewish community after the withdrawal of the military on September 1, the cabinet of the Minister for Internal Affairs has confirmed to Joods Actueel that there will be no extra personnel or budget made available. The minister declares her “understanding” for the concern. The Jewish community is “shocked” and wants further consultations. But for the government, the matter seems to be closed.

Joods Actueel was able to speak about this with Peter Poulussen, communications director for Annelies Verlinden. This confirms the following decisions of the cabinet. The soldiers will no longer remain on the street, neither the federal police nor the General Security Service (DAB) will take over the surveillance task, and there will be no extra budget for local police or for the deployment of private surveillance firms that the Jewish institutions may themselves hire.

However, Minister Verlinden had declared the following in Parliament on June 30: “I understand the concern from the Jewish community and their representatives. We have continuously underlined that we want to guarantee the same level of security as the current level. And I shall not fail to reassure the Jewish community on that as much as possible. We shall spare no expense to guarantee the security.”

The terror threat is set by the OCAD and the Federal Crisis Center. For our country, that has been lowered to terror level 2 for the last couple of years. That means that an attack at this moment is not very probable. Exceptions are a few embassies (which have their own surveillance) and the Jewish institutions. They are at terror level 3, which means that the threat of an attack is not only “possible”, but “probable”.

Disbelief

Yohan Benizri, Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the Jewish Community of Belgium, reacts with disbelief to the news. “We don’t understand this ambiguous attitude of the government. On the one hand, they promise for months that the same level of security will be guaranteed after September 1, but on the other hand, they refuse all of our questions.” Yet, Benizri still believes in a last-minute solution, and he won’t give up all hope-though at this moment, he is “very concerned”.

The Forum of Jewish Organizations is withholding comment for now. “We are in contact with the government and await an official response to us before we react,” says vice-chairman Philippe Scharf.

“Distrust motion”

Michael Freilich, N-VA member of Parliament and also a pillar of the Jewish community, reacts sharply. “On June 30, Minister Verlinden answered my question in the Chamber. On this, she indicated that the government ‘would spare no expense’. How you can promise this and then do the diametric opposite is beyond me.”

Michael Freilich: “This is a motion of distrust toward the entire Jewish community, which sends a clear signal that their security is not a priority for the federal government. There have been several attacks on Jewish targets in our country, in Europe; the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan does nothing to suggest that this period is over. I call on the minister and the government to review this despicable decision.

“All government parties have butter on their heads in this. My resolution in Parliament to take the security of the Jewish community to heart has been voted down several times, the last time this past July 15, which causes me pain.”

Local forces

According to Minister Verlinden, the police forces in Antwerp and Brussels must pay for security with local resources. Police Chief Serge Muyters had earlier indicated that the setting up of long-term static security assignments was not possible without additional resources, and that such was not part of the standard package belonging to the local police.

Five times no

The Jewish community had presented the government with five avenues to continue providing for their security. They were rejected one after the other. The five avenues:

1.   Allow the soldiers to stay at their posts as long as the heightened terror level is in effect.
2.   Provide federal police agents to take over the task if necessary.
3.   Adapt the KB to transfer the task to the DAB [General Security Service], which was established after the attacks in Brussels and Zaventem.
4.   Provide resources for local forces if they must organize it themselves.
5.   Provide a budget with which schools and institutions can hire security for themselves.

The Antwerp mayor, Bart De Wever (N-VA), also reacted:

Despotism Made Easy

The following guest-essay by Brad Lena was written more than a decade ago, but seems remarkably apropos for the dystopian time we live in — especially the chapter entitled “Scientists like money, too”.

Despotism Made Easy

A Self-Help Guide for the Aspiring Tyrant

by Brad Lena
Copyright © 2010

Introduction

Modern political visionaries, whether they are global healers or regional thugs, are reformers in a hurry. In their mad dash to perfect the human condition, they tend to overlook issues critical to their careers and longevity. By contrast, an ascendant visionary with a solid grounding in the fundamentals of despotism can extend his legacy for months or even years before being deposed or assassinated.

The reader will find this guide’s carefully selected recommendations equally applicable to run-of-the-mill oligarchies, utopian fantasies, or fascist dictatorships. “Despotism Made Easy” helps pave the way — from the first usurpations all the way to palatial exile. Each topic gets right to the point, enabling a busy reformer with only a few minutes of free time to browse a topic for guidance before working over the financial sector.

I. Job No. 1: Disarm the people

Nothing puts a damper on a reformer’s day like a populace that will not embrace utopia. Of course, once dissenting voices are muzzled, the objections become more like white noise — an irritant but tolerable. But — and this is an important but” — an armed citizenry can really play havoc with your agenda and legacy. Perhaps most disheartening to the reformer is the realization that armed resistance signifies that the people might not totally appreciate all that you’re trying to do for them.

History teaches us that radically altering the social, political, and economic order without first disarming the populace is untidy and risky. Most citizens, given enough incentive, will get with the program. But why chance it? An accelerating program of firearm restriction, registration, taxation, and confiscation will do much to ensure a smooth transition to a new era of social justice, equity, fraternity, and solidarity.

As you’re disarming the populace, it is important that you do not disarm your own people. Easily enough said, but in the hustle and bustle of reform, mix-ups can and do occur. Consider dressing your supporters in colorful uniforms with shiny boots and distinctive armbands. This will avoid confusion as well as foster a sense of unity among those who understand your reforms.

What if the armed forces of the government are staffed by volunteers? The short answer is to co-opt them through economic and medical enticements, which become dramatically more valuable as reform progresses. The real solution takes time. Establish youth schools and get them while they’re young— very young. To make certain that the rising generation thinks the way you do about the relationship between the citizens and the state, you must make their former frame of reference disappear. This is best achieved through indoctrination disguised as education.

Patience is key. Do not be one of those know-it-alls who bets the farm on getting everything corrected all at once. That will only raise expectations among the people. A sullen and lethargic population is the friend of reform.

II. The trains actually do have to run on time

You’d be surprised how many aspiring reformers overlook the fact that, after the soaring rhetoric has faded, the public expects some level of competence in government. Uncorrected, this easy-to-miss oversight can awaken the people from their sleepwalk to servitude. Make no mistake: If Mussolini hadn’t made the trains run on time as promised, the Italians would have shot him much sooner. Fortunately, people in the modern era are much less discerning. The mere perception of competence satisfies them almost as much as the real thing.

Reformers, as we all know, are busy people and the issue of competence may be an academic exercise rather than one derived from actual experience. This potential problem can be worsened when your prescriptions for reform include everything under the sun. Granted, a populace with an irrational sense of entitlement will encourage the chosen one to solve everything, but don’t be fooled by this pandering to omnipotence. At this stage, your job is to ensure they think things are improving — even if it’s only v i a smoke and mirrors.

For example, if the economy is going to hell in a hand basket, toss them some bones — s u c h as expanding their entitlement to the money of the producing segment of the populace. Or print some more money (but make certain you warn your friends in the financial sector before doing so).

These tried-and-true practices will mollify the nonproductive and envious segments while freeing you to bring more of the economy under your direct control.

Also, do not to throw too many of your trusted associates under the bus too early in the game. They have to be trotted out from time to time as living proof that you’re employing the best and the brightest to tackle the problems caused by others. If there are issues of compliance and legality, just rely on their arrogance and contempt for the rule of law to get you through pesky tight spots.

Don’t worry if you haven’t followed through on any of your previous promises or programs. Just keep promising new solutions to other problems or invent problems to which you can offer solutions. The general idea is to keep the improvements and social justice coming. If you do, they’ll never see it coming.

III. Subvert the language: The rest is easy

Words that have a specific meaning are not reform-friendly. A specific meaning can lead to benchmarks in which an action or concept is assessed for its connection to reality or productivity. Real reformers know that the real action resides in the process, not in the results. Words that have a universally accepted meaning enable the public to make determinations that are independent of the reformer’s vision. Worse yet, they can foreshadow the emergence of unauthorized solutions. Don’t allow your reforms to be compromised by viable alternatives.

The name of the game is to replace the national dialogue with incoherence. Once you establish conflict between the former meaning of a word and the new and improved meaning, it’s a relatively short step to subverting the rule of law. A people unable to agree on the meaning of words cannot offer unified resistance.

Replacing the existing meaning of a word with a definition subservient to your reform objectives takes time. Fortunately, there are ready, able and willing allies.

The greatest helpers are those in the education and media cartels. Their ability to shape the public mindset, as well as their willingness to be co— opted into the reform agenda, ensures a steady erosion of language as a societal bond.

It is important to provide these allies with appropriate levels of financial and regulatory support. Also, utilize their sense of moral superiority by parroting everything they say and value. This way, they will think you are one of them and cooperate fully. Eventually, you won’t need them and that will be that, but in the meantime they are useful and malleable.

Remember, commonly shared values and understanding are not conducive to reform. A collective memory of the former relationship between the rulers and the ruled can foment questions that are better left unasked. These impediments can be overcome, but they can be a drain on coercive and financial resources that will undoubtedly be needed when push comes to shove.

IV. Funny money: Make sure you’re the one laughing

Imposing monetary policies that erode financial and societal underpinnings is a surefire way to get everybody’s attention. Initially, they simply create uncertainty, but with continued reform, it becomes full-blown public panic. Those who can add and subtract in the various industrial and financial segments soon figure out the end game and get with the program rather enthusiastically.

NWO Idol Pops up on a Budapest Street

Our Hungarian correspondent László sends the following disturbing report on the latest globalist machinations in Budapest. Before the “pandemic” began, I thought of Hungary as a model for the West, but it’s becoming clear that country of the Magyars is just as much a puppet on the New World Order as the rest of Western Europe and the Anglosphere.

Due to my previous career as an artist, when I look at a design like the mural of Mother Vax, I automatically assess its technical proficiency. In this case I notice that the left earpiece of her eyeglasses disappears into her hair at a bizarre angle, way above the top of the ear. When they’re spending so much money on monumental Soviet-style hagiographic art, you’d think they could at least hire a competent artist.

Also: what are those strange things at the top in her hair that look like apostrophes or quote marks? They seem to be in the positions where horns might appear. Just sayin’…

NWO Idol Pops up on a Budapest Street

by László

An enormous mural of a cultish portrait, honouring Hungarian mRNA-jab developer Katalin Karikó, is being painted on the wall of a house in Budapest. Communism reloaded. The writing is on the wall.

An Ominous String of Events

A string of events in Budapest herald the victory of the New World Order:

  • The portrait of the Hungarian mRNA-jab developer, Katalin Karikó, is being painted as a five-story-tall mural, on the wall of a house in Budapest, Hungary. The project is supported by the government.
  • At the same time, Hungarian FM Péter Szíjjártó holds a press conference in Budapest with Communist WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus, who praises the jab-developer for her ‘pioneer’ achievement. Mr. Szíjjártó calls the genocidal WHO-chief ‘my old friend’.
  • On another note, the Hungarian FM insinuates that the unjabbed are ‘harm-doers’.

What seems to be just a pile of unrelated events at first sight in fact draws a dark overall picture.

An Immortal Idol From the Future

The ‘artwork’, which is being created on Krisztina Boulevard in Budapest, is also supported by the government. The five-story-tall mural that is being painted to honour Katalin Karikó, the Hungarian-born developer of the mRNA-based coronavirus vaccine, seeks to ‘immortalize’ the scientist.

As the English-language Daily News Hungary puts it:

An immense wall painting to immortalize vaccine developer Katalin Karikó in Budapest

The Hungarian issue of Forbes seems to know even more about the mission of the project:

The future will be written by Hungarians — this is the motto next to Katalin Karikó’s portrait on the giant mural.

Forbes_hu also informs its readers that the makers of the mural target young people:
