Hungarian Employment Exceeds Pre-Pandemic Level

Due to the government’s successfully handling of the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic, the number of employees in Hungary reached 4.7 million, of which 4.5 million are in the primary labor market, while the number of registered job seekers fell to an extremely low level of 260,000, State Secretary for Employment Sandor Bodó said on Thursday.

Bodó added that in the economic crisis caused by the emergency in Europe, there were two paths, one being that “every worker received a certain amount on some kind of normative basis and this was not subject to any conditions”.

He emphasized that Hungary had acted successfully, although it had not chosen this path, as the government had focused on providing employment, so all support was tied to the protection of jobs and the creation of jobs.

July Payrolls Beat Expectations Rising 943,000 as Unemployment Rate Tumbles

With consensus expectations calling for a July payrolls print of 858K and whisper numbers starting at 1 million and rising (and Goldman going so far as expecting 1.175MM), moments ago the BLS reported that in July payrolls came in at a goldilocks 943K, comfortably beating the consensus but below the 1MM print that could be considered a clear trigger for “substantial progress” for Powell, although likely sufficient for the Fed to signal the start of tapering at Jackson Hole.

“For the Sake of the Kids” — Chicago Teachers Union Threatens No in-Person Education Due to “Immediate Threat” Of Delta

Just hours after Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker issued a new ‘cruel and unusual’ mandate requiring all Illinois public school students to wear masks when they return to school later this month, the Chicago Teachers Union has issued a letter addressed to Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Chicago Public School officials, and members of the school board, warning that:

“new pandemic variants pose immediate threats to the health of all Chicagoans, but especially our unvaccinated student population.”

In the letter, CTU praise the Governor’s new mask mandate, but said its

“school communities need more than masking to ensure safety — especially as we continue to learn about the delta variant.”

CTU specifically listed recommendations for ensuring safety, among which was the maintenance of criteria and health metrics based on the prevalence of COVID “to pause in-person instruction.”

“He’s a Pathological Liar”: Cornell Chemistry Professor Dave Collum Unloads on Dr. Fauci and COVID Hysteria

Friend of Zero Hedge and Cornell Professor Dave Collum appeared on the Quoth the Raven podcast this week and offered his unfiltered (and often profane) 2 hour long take not only on the development of the Delta variant hysteria, but also on Dr. Fauci, vaccinations and the state of lockdowns across the globe.

Collum is the Betty R. Miller Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Cornell University and holds a PhD, Columbia University, MS, Columbia University, MA, Columbia University and BS, Cornell University.

The duo of Collum and podcast host Chris Irons first talked about Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the chief medical advisor to the president, whom Collum referred to as a “pathological liar”.

65% of American Workers Would Take a 5% Pay Cut to be Able to Permanently Work From Home

It looks like the idea of working from home is sticking.

In fact, Americans are so keen on continuing to work from home that they would even take pay cuts to do so, according to a new Bloomberg report. In addition to just taking a pay cut, many respondents to a new survey said they would also “give up days off or put in more hours” in order to be able to keep working from home.

Almost 2,000 People From 9/11 Families Tell Biden He’s Not Invited to 20th Anniversary Ceremonies

A large group of families directly affected by the Sept. 11 2001 attacks in New York City have sent an open letter to President Joe Biden telling him he is not welcome at the upcoming 20th anniversary of the tragic event.

The letter states that, unless Biden declassifies government documents which they think will prove that Saudi Arabia, the world’s second largest oil producer, had a hand in the terrorist attacks, he is persona non grata at the ceremony.

Despite unsubstantiated claims to the contrary, the 9/11 attacks were a massive tragedy in which almost 3,000 people died due to a series of terrorists attacks.

Biden Administration Defends Provision in Infrastructure Bill That Would Make it Harder for Decentralized Big Tech Challengers

The Biden administration has been quietly defending a provision in the Infrastructure Bill that could affect developers trying to build alternatives to Big Tech platforms through blockchain technology.

The inclusion of the provision is rather hypocritical for an administration that has been making big claims about how it will be tough on Big Tech and yet is actively cracking down on those who want to offer decentralized alternatives to Big Tech monopolies.

The cryptocurrency provision, which was recently added to the Infrastructure Bill, is being touted as being about ensuring crypto holders pay their taxes.

But, according to Fight for the Future, the provision is “so poorly written that it would create reporting requirements demanding people like software developers and even volunteers within decentralized tech projects hand over data or conduct surveillance of their users.”

Four Months Later, UCLA Has Not Released Contract With Chinese Government

The University of California-Los Angeles has delayed its response to a public record request from Campus Reform for the past four months.

Recently, Campus Reform investigated public universities’ ties to Confucius Institutes — an initiative of the Chinese government’s education ministry that is marketed as a language and cultural exchange, but in actuality exists to spread the doctrines of Chinese communism.

Thirty-two universities provided documents to Campus Reform. However, UCLA continuously dodged the request.

On April 8, Campus Reform Assistant Editor Adam Sabes requested “copies of public records that contain the contract or agreement that the University of California-Los Angeles has had at any point with the Confucius Institute Headquarters” under the California Public Records Act, which mandates a response from universities within ten business days.

Gang Members Established ‘Autonomous Zone’ In Atlanta, Killed Eight-Year-Old Girl During Police Protest

In the aftermath of the fatal police shooting of Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta, violent gang members laid siege to a local Wendy’s to protest his death — establishing an “autonomous zone” with a strict no-trespassing policy for police officers or pedestrians — before shooting and killing an eight-year-old girl, according to a warrant obtained by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Under the guise of protesting police brutality, members of the Bloods street gang established a perimeter around the Wendy’s, with armed rogue members declaring control over the territory “brandishing, pointing and discharging of firearms at citizens and civilians to ensure compliance with their authority in a highly visible manner,” according to the arrest warrant for the gang member allegedly responsible for the girl’s death.

Indiana Handgun Permits Applications Skyrocket

Figures coming out of Indiana, which eliminated the fee for handgun permits on July 1, indicate price is a serious hurdle for many residents eager to exercise their Second Amendment rights to ensure their safety and that of their loved ones. According to an Indy Star report on July 8, during the first 7 days of the month there was a 10-fold increase in applications compared to 2019 figures. Eight thousand came in the first day alone.

The July 1 change removed the previous $30 price for the five-year concealed carry version of the handgun permit. The state’s total volume figures aren’t exclusively self-defense associated, however. Hunters who want to go afield with a handgun must also procure one, although a state spokesman told the newspaper they accounted for only a third of those received during that week. Applicants, as before, are still required to undergo a background check and pay a $13 processing fee for the mandatory fingerprinting.

Protests Against COVID Vaccine Requirements Form

GRAFTON, Wis. — The fight over whether employers can force people to get the COVID-19 vaccine is growing as more and more places say they will require it.

In Grafton on Friday, Aug. 6, more than 75 people protested against the area’s largest health care companies; Advocate Aurora, Ascension, Children’s Wisconsin, Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin, ProHealth and UW Health — all now require employees to get vaccinated. FOX6 News asked those protesters to speak on camera about their concerns, but nobody would.

The Kaiser Family Foundation found 51% of the country supports employers requiring the vaccine, while 46% are opposed.

“I believe it should be a choice. I don’t think that anything should be forced upon us, especially something of this nature,” said nursing assistant Taylor Falesnik. “We still don’t know the long-term effects. And it’s still in the emergency use phase.”

The Effort to Block IU’s COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement Turns to the U.S. Supreme Court

Students seeking to block Indiana University’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate have taken their appeal to the nation’s highest court.

A group of eight students filed a lawsuit against the university over its requirement that students and staff be vaccinated against the virus before returning to campus for the fall semester, alleging that it violates their constitutional rights. Earlier this week, an appellate court denied their request for an injunction while their appeal is pending.

In denying that request, a judge for the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals said that colleges and universities may decide what is necessary to keep students safe.

“People who do not want to be vaccinated may go elsewhere,” wrote Judge Frank Easterbrook in the decision.

Twitter Locked Out Journalist Who Provided CDC-Verified Statement About Vaccines

A journalist was temporarily suspended by Twitter for posting a link to an article, and citing from it when he tweeted, “Vaccines are not safe for everyone. University refuses to let student attend unless she takes vaccine that could paralyze her.”

The case concerns Brigham Young University Hawaii refusing to grant a medical exemption to the student who suffers from an auto-immune disease caused by her receiving a different vaccine in 2019, making her condition now potentially dangerous for getting the COVID one, according to doctors.

The story Greg Piper was sharing before getting suspended was published by the College Fix, and it would appear that Twitter’s censorship algorithms are written such that they can be triggered by a statement about COVID vaccines not being safe for everyone — despite that being a pretty undisputed fact.

France, Italy Set to Unleash Increasingly-Restrictive COVID-19 Health Passes

Authored by Katabella Roberts via The Epoch Times

Unvaccinated citizens of France and Italy are set to face tighter restrictions after officials ruled in favor of COVID-19 health passes for those attempting to enter restaurants, bars, and hospitals, as well as travel.

In France, the country’s top constitutional authority on Aug. 5 agreed with most aspects of a new law that requires citizens to carry a special COVID-19 health pass from next week onwards.

A health pass is only given to those who have been fully vaccinated, recently recovered from an infection, or recently tested negative from the virus.

The new restrictions mean residents will only be allowed to access cafes, restaurants, and, in some cases, hospitals, if they show the health pass.

While the pass has been in effect in France since July 21 for cultural and recreational venues, including cinemas, concert halls, and theme parks with capacity for more than 50 people, the new law vastly extends its application.

Hungary: PM Orban is Fighting for Democracy, Tucker Carlson Says

“Viktor Orban simply resists the efforts of a lone billionaire named György Soros to transform his country. In fact, he is defending democracy against unaccountable billionaires, the NGOs, and certain Western governments. He fights for democracy with the forces that want to bury it,” Carlson — in Hungary for a conservative festival — told Mandiner.

“I believe in democracy and self-determination — as an American, this is central to not only my perception of the state, but also my self-image. I don’t think the NGOs should determine how to run a country,” Carlson said. “I think that is for the people in that country to decide. If, for example, the people of Mali want to legislate ideas that I hate, it is their business — I believe in the idea, in the concept of democracy and self-government. That’s why we’re here, that’s what we’re reporting.”

Asked about Soros’ influence, Carlson said the billionaire uses his immense fortune to influence politics in an unfair manner.

G7: Iran Behind Tanker Attack, ‘Threatens International Peace’

Tehran denies being behind a drone attack against an Israel-linked tanker, but G7 says ‘all available evidence clearly points to Iran’.

G7 foreign ministers have said “all available evidence clearly points to Iran” being behind a drone attack on July 29 against an Israel-linked tanker that killed a former British soldier and Romanian national.

“This was a deliberate and targeted attack, and a clear violation of international law … There is no justification for this attack,” the ministers from the world’s seven most developed nations said in a statement on Friday.

The vessel was a Liberian-flagged, Japanese-owned petroleum products tanker managed by Israeli-owned Zodiac Maritime.

Iran has strongly denied having any link to the attack on the MV Mercer Street, which came as tensions grow in the region and talks to revive the 2015 deal on the Iranian nuclear programme at a standstill…

A man was arrested Saturday after allegedly stabbing or punching 10 passengers on an Odakyu Electric Railway commuter train in Tokyo on Friday night, police said.

Yusuke Tsushima, 36, was arrested after he was detained at a neighboring convenience store and charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a woman in her 20s with a knife. The victim, who is in a serious condition, suffered multiple wounds to her back and chest, while nine others — four women and five men — were also injured in the attack.

The Metropolitan Police Department initially said one woman and eight men were hurt in the train attack but later said a total of 10 passengers on the Shinjuku-bound train were injured.

Tsushima admitted to the assault, telling the police that “I have been wanting to kill a happy-looking woman for the past six years. Anyone would have been okay.”

The police also quoted him as saying that “I thought I could kill a large number of people as there is no space to flee on a train.”

At the time of the incident, several hundred passengers were on the train and the driver brought it to a halt after hearing loud voices from the train cars…

China Doubles Down on COVID Origins Conspiracy as Delta Wave Worsens

As Beijing struggles to suppress China’s most broad-based COVID outbreak since the original wave that swept the globe in late 2019-early 2020, the CCP’s ministry of propaganda is ramping up efforts to spread a conspiracy theory blaming COVID on the US military, CNN reports.

As we have previously reported, the conspiracy theory alleges that the virus originated at a military lab at Fort Detrick in Maryland. While that might seem outlandish to most Americans, plenty of Chinese citizens are taking the reports at face value. In fact, the reports have elicited enough of an impassioned response from Chinese citizens that half a million of them signed a letter to the WHO demanding an investigation into Fort Detrick.

Wuhan’s ‘Bat Lady’ Warns of Coming COVID-19 Mutants

Of all the people on the planet who should probably take a pass on weighing in over the future of Covid-19, the woman suspected of either creating it and/or releasing it is probably at the top of the list.

Yet, that’s what just happened

According to Chinese state media cited by the South China Morning Post, top CCP virologist Shi Zhengli of the Wuhan Institute of Virology — also known as “Bat Lady” — says the virus will continue to mutate, and we must prepare to coexist with it.

“As the number of infected cases has just become too big, this allowed the novel coronavirus more opportunities to mutate and select. New variants will continue to emerge,” said Shi, whose lab was working with a US-Funded nonprofit to make bat coronaviruses more infectious to humans.

Czechs Want to Help Refugees But at the Same Time Fear Migration: Survey

According to a survey conducted by the STEM agency, most Czechs consider protection against migration important, with only 14.1 percent of respondents thinking otherwise. Rather than offering asylum, though, the majority of respondents favor providing refugees with assistance in returning to their country of origin.

“The issue of migration is once again proving to be a major problem for the whole of Europe. Not only are negotiations on a migration and asylum pact within the EU still underway, but there are also talks about migration in connection with the situation in Lithuania and the departure of Western troops from Afghanistan,” the analysts from the STEM agency note.

Overall, 84 percent of respondents share a negative opinion on providing asylum for at least some migrants. That is true mainly in the second-oldest age group, in which 74 percent completely reject the idea of asylum, and another 18.1 percent at least partially refuse it. Most respondents who would agree with providing a new home for refugees in the European Union were in the youngest age group of 18 to 29 years of age, with 32 percent of them being in favor of granting asylum.

Denmark is Closing the Door on Immigration

Denmark, traditionally hailed as one of the most liberal and tolerant countries in the world, recently passed a strict immigration law. The subsequent debate on it has divided Europe. Brussels and Berlin criticize it, while Vienna wants to draw inspiration from it. In any case, the Danes have offered a significant contribution to the future shape of European immigration policy.

Danish Foreign Minister Mattias Tesfaye, who has an Ethiopian father, explained the new rules simply. “We spend a lot of money on people who do not need protection at all,” the German daily Die Welt quoted him saying.

If the asylum seeker fails, he should travel back to his country. But that usually doesn’t work. Many of them live in departure centers, where the stay of each immigrant costs 40,000 euros a year.

Migrants in the Netherlands Lose Trust in the State the Longer They Stay

“Non-Western” immigrants arriving in the Netherlands initially have more trust in public institutions, but the more time they spend in the country, the more they lose that trust, the Dutchnews news portal wrote on Thursday, based on a recent analysis by the Dutch National Statistics Office (Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek or CBS).

The survey is based on CBS statistics for the period 2012-2019, which involved 4,892 immigrants. Research shows that, for example, 58 percent of people who came to the Netherlands from South America, Asia, and Africa less than five years ago trust Dutch public institutions, while this proportion is only 43 per cent of immigrants who have been living in the country for decades.

‘We Are a Serious Country’ — Hungarians Tell Tucker How and Why They Ended Border Crisis

The Hungarian government has shown FNC’s Tucker Carlson how and why it stops illegal immigration dead at its southern border “wall”.

The conservative news show host, who is currently broadcasting from Hungary, visited the Central European country’s southern border “wall” — actually a fence, constructed rapidly as hundreds of thousands of migrants were marching into the country following German leader Angela Merkel’s unilateral decision to open Germany’s borders and by extension Europe’s to a wave of unregulated mass migration in 2015 — to see how it has largely put an end to illegal border crossings.

SAG-AFTRA President: Disney Using “Gender-Shaming and Bullying” Tactics Over Scarlett Johansson Lawsuit

SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris has some words for Disney about its handling of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow lawsuit.

“Disney should be ashamed of themselves for resorting to tired tactics of gender-shaming and bullying,” the leader of the performers’ union said in a statement released on Friday. “Actors must be compensated for their work according to their contracts. Scarlett Johansson is shining a white-hot spotlight on the improper shifts in compensation that companies are attempting to slip by talent as distribution models change.”

She added, “Nobody in any field of work should fall victim to surprise reductions in expected compensation. It is unreasonable and unjust. Disney and other content companies are doing very well and can certainly live up to their obligations to compensate the performers whose art and artistry are responsible for the corporation’s profits.”

4 thoughts on “Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/6/2021

  1. When the Russian Orthodox Church in 2013 dragged into the legislation an article “On the protection of the feelings of believers” (which is now actively used by Muslims, subordinating life in Russia to Sharia), public figures warned that the government was opening a Pandora’s box.
Now this sweet Abrahamic trinity (Islam, the Russian Orthodox Church and the Zionists) sang together, throwing out atheists, agnostics, and all sorts of decorative polytheists from public discourse.
Yes Yes. You heard right. Muslims and people in characteristic Jewish hats are sitting at the “Congress of the Russian People”. Secular people were discharged from the Russians.

An example of the Orthodox Sharia.

Woman sues McDonald’s for “tempting” to break the fast

Orthodox Christian Ksenia Ovchinnikova wants to sue McDonald’s (McDonald’s) for 1,000 rubles for advertising a cheeseburger and chicken McNuggets insulting her religious feelings and forcing her to break her fast. This was reported to TASS by the press service of the [Moscow – at the location of the defendant] of the Zamoskvoretsky court, where the corresponding claim was filed.

“The court received a claim from Ksenia Ovchinnikova, the defendant of which is McDonald’s. Currently, the date of the preliminary hearing (conversation) on this claim has not yet been set, ”the court said.

As stated in the text of the statement of claim, which TASS got acquainted with, Ovchinnikova was outraged by the situation that occurred in April 2019 in Omsk. The girl saw an advertisement for a cheeseburger and chicken McNuggets on Karl Marx Avenue. Despite the fact that at that time there was Lent, which the girl has observed for 16 years in a row, she bought herself McDonald’s products that contain meat.

“By this point, the post had been going on for about a month, when I saw the ad banner, I could not help it, I visited McDonald’s and bought a cheeseburger. In the actions of McDonald’s, I see a violation of consumer protection law. I ask the court to investigate, and, if there was a violation, to oblige McDonald’s to compensate me for moral damage in the amount of 1,000 rubles, ”the statement of claim says.

A Christian woman who has filed a lawsuit against the McDonald’s restaurant chain because of the “spoiled” Lent should not go to court, but confess, RIA Novosti was told in the Moscow Patriarchate.

“I advise her to go to confession and not to court,” said the agency’s source.

In this case, the ROC behaved responsibly, because lately it has been causing great irritation in society with its obscurantism.

    • Interesting! A major American corporation on Karl Marx Ave being sued for offending religious sensibilities? Sometimes reality resembles a satirical publication like The Onion.

      • Really a nightmare. A mixture of cyberpunk, dystopia and idiocy.

        Here’s another. Merciless Russian creativity.

Fortune-tellers and clairvoyants are used to advertise vaccinations on the Russian federal TV channel TV3. According to the plot of a social video that promotes vaccination against coronavirus, people come to fortune-tellers to find out their future and ask for help. However, clairvoyants are unable to help, as “the future is closed.” Hearing this, people admit that “now they are afraid.”

“But we can protect ourselves, get vaccinated!” – says the voice-over. After that, fortune-tellers admit that after vaccination “and fate will be determined.”
