Anger Over Mandate Prompts Protest
PENDLETON — Gov. Kate Brown’s recent vaccine mandates for state employees, health care workers and school staff drew more than 150 people to Pendleton for a protest.
As COVID-19 continues to rip through Oregon and overwhelm hospitals, those attending the event Thursday, Aug. 26, at Roy Raley Park went without masks, including health care workers, teachers, firefighters and members of law enforcement.
The protest drew a multitude of voices, ranging from those completely rejecting vaccines and masks to those who were supportive of vaccines but felt the governor’s orders from Aug. 19 to either get the vaccine or lose their jobs violated their rights.

Hundreds Protest Washington Gov. Inslee’s Vaccine Mandate
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Hundreds of people gathered at the state Capitol in Olympia on Saturday to protest Gov. Jay Inslee’s vaccine mandate.
The mandate, which Inslee announced in early August, requires most state workers, healthcare workers and school employees to be fully vaccinated by Oct. 18 or face losing their jobs. Inslee has said the getting people vaccinated is essential for getting Washington past the pandemic.
Organizers of the rally Saturday warned that a large segment of state workers, including many firefighters, sanitation workers and bus drivers, won’t get the vaccine — as much as 30% to 40% statewide, they said. It wasn’t clear what that estimate was based on.

Germany: Protests in Berlin For and Against Coronavirus Restrictions
BERLIN (AP) — Protesters filled the German capital again on Saturday to demonstrate against the government’s coronavirus measures, despite bans against several gatherings.
Police had banned nine planned demonstrations for Saturday, including one from the Stuttgart-based Querdenker movement, the most visible anti-lockdown movement in Germany, which united a disparate mix of those opposing vaccinations, coronavirus deniers and right-wing extremists. A court ruled in favor of allowing one event, planned for 500 people, on Saturday and Sunday.
Still, like the last round of protests in early August, thousands ignored the bans and turned out to voice their opposition to government measures. With chants of “We are the people!” the protesters made their way through Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg and Mitte neighborhoods.

UK: Eric Clapton, Guitarist for Baby Boomers, Releases Protest Song for Anti-Vaxxers

It arrives with a music video featuring subtle illustrations of an evil puppeteer, swirly-eyed people, a hypnotic man in a tie, and protesters with picket signs that read “Liberty” and “Stop.” He continues, “I knew that something was going on wrong / When you started laying down the law / I can’t move my hands / I break out in sweat.”

Stabilization is priority say Draghi and Russian FM
(ANSA) — ROME, AUG 27 — Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said after talks with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Rome Friday that Rome is counting on Moscow for the special G20 summit it plans to call on Afghanistan.
Di Maio said Italy is counting on Russia’s collaboration for the planned ad hoc meeting, where Rome hopes to involve other major players like China, India and Turkey.
“Close international coordination with Russia is essential,” Di Maio told a press conference with the Russian FM.
He said that Moscow was a “fundamental actor” on the global scene.
Di Maio reiterated Italy’s concern over Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny saying his basic rights must be respected.
The Italian FM also raised the question of the Ukraine crisis.
He said friendly countries had to speak to each other with frankness.
Lavrov called for an easing of visa requirements between Russia and Italy.
Lavrov earlier met Premier Mario Draghi for talks that focused on the role of the G20, which Italy is currently chairing, in the Afghan crisis.
“The priority is stabilisation” of the country and the region, the two officials agreed.

Denmark ending all restrictions including vax passports… will it be like in Israel – very short lived? My unjabbed friend in Israel was able to go to her synagogue after such a long time with even no mask… Now the issued passports even for their 3 year old ones. She went to visit her triple jabbed parents. Her mother had to have a test because she wanted to go to her club despite being triple jabbed. And the test was positive 🙂 When my friend got home she felt unwell and was sick for nearly 2 weeks. She couldn’t say anything to anyone even to her large family as all are jabbed. Unjabbed are blamed for spreading the disease there. Mother was sick too.
Absolutely incredible what’s going on there!
Tzippy went to the clinic to have her antibodies measured. She has plenty and may get her green passport which will be valid for 5 month… They will be stopping this possibility from the 1 October. Antibodies tests will be banned.
