All Ocean City Fireworks Shows Canceled After Explosion

Firefighters evaluated firework handlers for minor injuries, and no beachgoers were hurt, according to officials.

All fireworks shows in Ocean City have been canceled “due to an abundance of caution” after the fire department and Maryland State Police responded to a fireworks explosion on the city’s beach.

Firefighters treated firework handlers for minor injuries, and no beachgoers were hurt, according to officials.

Firefighters were called to a section of the beach near Dorchester Street after reports of a vehicle on fire at around 10:30 a.m. What they found instead was the city’s downtown fireworks display unintentionally discharging, fire officials said.

The cause of the fireworks discharge is unknown, according to fire officials.

Birds Acting Blind When Approached, Dying by Hundreds. Scientists Don’t Know Why.

Hundreds of birds are dying without explanation in parts of the South and Midwest.

Wildlife experts in at least six states and Washington, D.C., have reported an increase in sick or dying birds in the past month. The most commonly afflicted birds are blue jays, common grackles and European starlings.

“We’re experiencing an unusual amount of bird mortality this year,” said Kate Slankard, an avian biologist with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. “We have yet to figure out what the problem is. The condition seems to be pretty deadly.”

Symptoms include crusty or puffy eyes, neurological signs of seizures and an inability to stay balanced.

Boston Rabbi Says it’s a ‘Miracle’ He Survived Stab Attack

The rabbi stabbed eight times outside a Jewish day school in Boston said it was a “miracle” he survived — as he recalled the broad daylight attack in a new interview.

Rabbi Shlomo Noginski — speaking through a translator to i24News in Tel Aviv— recalled the terrifying attack on Thursday outside of the school where more than 100 children were attending summer camp.

“I would like to say thank God. A miracle, a great miracle happened to me,” Noginski said. “He only managed to stab me eight times in my arm and my limbs but it could have been much worse. I feel relatively great and I thank God for the miracle.”

At first, Noginski said the suspect, Khaled Awad, 24, approached him with a gun, demanding he open his car. Figuring it was a robbery, Noginski offered his keys to his attacker, he told i24.

Gorsuch Slams Minnesota County for Violating Religious Beliefs of Amish Over Septic System Dispute

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch on Friday tore into a Minnesota county for trying to force an Amish community to install septic systems in their homes against their religious beliefs, citing the court’s recent high-profile decision in a religious liberty case as a major precedent.

Gorsuch made the comments in a statement regarding the case, Mast v. Fillmore County.

The court vacated and remanded the previous ruling against the Amish community in the case, saying that lower courts should pay close attention to Fulton v. Philadelphia, which the justices decided last month. In that case, the court unanimously ruled Philadelphia could not exclude a Catholic adoption agency from its foster program just because the agency does not place children with gay couples.

Jamahl Talib Abdullah Bey and Rise of the Moors: What to Know About Wakefield Standoff

Heavily armed men with handguns and rifles “claiming to be from a group that does not recognize our laws” fled a traffic stop in Wakefield, police said

Police have identified eight of the 11 suspects who were arrested after an hours long armed standoff off Interstate 95 in Wakefield, Massachusetts, Saturday. All of them claimed to be part of a group called the Rise of the Moors.

Police safely resolved a situation with a group of heavily armed men who refused to comply with police Saturday morning, resulting in the shutdown of busy Interstate 95 and shelter-in-place orders for parts of Wakefield and Reading.

The 11 suspects who were taken into custody and transported for booking referred to themselves as a militia, police said Saturday. Eight guns, including three AR-15s, were seized, according to police, who said none of the suspects had licenses to carry guns.

The group of men were reportedly in two cars stopped in the breakdown lane on I-95 in Wakefield with their hazard lights on around 1:30 a.m. when police stopped to assist them. Police said the responding trooper saw that they were wearing “tactical or military style” uniforms, including tactical vests and body cameras. Some had long rifles, others pistols or some combination of both.

Experts say the group involved in Saturday’s standoff on I-95 in Massachusetts is based in Rhode Island and has unique ideas about the law.

Massachusetts State Police Col. Christopher Mason said the men identified themselves as being part of a group known as Rise of the Moors and that they adhere to “Moorish Sovereign Ideology.” The group’s website describes them as “Moorish Americans dedicated to educating new Moors and influencing our Elders.”

“Their self-professed leader wanted very much known their ideology is not anti-government,” Mason said. “Our investigation will provide us more insight into what their motivation, what their ideology is.”

Mason said he can’t confirm that they are “validated members” of the group. “They identify as they identify…

Largest Teachers Union Says Critical Race Theory is ‘Reasonable and Appropriate’ For Kids

The country’s largest teachers union has moved to undermine the left-wing talking point that critical race theory is not taught to children — by voting promote it and arguing it is “reasonable and appropriate” to use CRT in social studies classes.

The National Education Association has approved a plan to “publicize” critical race theory and dedicate a “team of staffers” to assist union members looking to “fight back against anti-CRT rhetoric.”

New Business Item 39 also declares that the union opposes bans on critical race theory and the New York Times’ controversial 1619 Project — which roughly half the U.S. states have already implemented.

Loudoun County Schools to Continue Fight Against Teacher Suspended for Voicing His Opinion

The Loudoun County, Virginia school district will continue the fight to keep a teacher who had opposed its policy on transgender students from returning to the classroom.

In May, Tanner Cross was suspended from his position and banned from school property due to remarks he made during the school board’s public comment session. Cross spoke in opposition to the district’s “Rights of Transgender and Gender-Expansive Students” policy.

“I am speaking out of love for those who are suffering from gender dysphoria,” Cross had said. “I love all of my students but I will never lie to them regardless of the consequences. I’m a teacher but I serve God first and I will not affirm that a biological boy can be a girl and vice versa because it’s against my religion.”

Tanner sued the district, and early last month the Loudoun County Circuit Court agreed with him.

Couple Who Refused to Go to Quarantine Hotel After Service Trip Fined $12,000

A few weeks ago, Rebel News visited the small county of Norfolk to speak to the Lambs, a married couple who were given over $12,000 worth of fines when they arrived at Pearson International Airport. Carol and Grant Lamb refused to be tested (again) at the airport as they both had negative COVID-19 results from Guatemala, and they also refused to be put in the dreaded quarantine hotel, resulting in four separate fines for this small family.

Through their charity Power At Work, the Lambs travel to Central America multiple times a year to teach underprivileged children valuable skills. They teach nutrition, help collect clean drinking water, host sports and community meals, and train them in woodworking so they can build beds. Soon they will even teach welding so the kids can repair their own bicycles.

Media Blackout Emerges After Key Assange Witness Admits to Lies

Mainstream media’s total blackout on inconvenient news stories, especially in the US, is becoming a trend.

In the past few days, media watchdogs Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR) and Media Lens have tried to bring people’s attention to the fact that mainstream media institutions have totally ignored a story by Icelandic newspaper Stundin on the Julian Assange case.

The report reveals that the case against Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, was based on the false testimony of Sigurdur Thordarson, a convicted child molester who has also been diagnosed as a sociopath.

UK-based media watchdog Media Lens said: “We have not found a single report by any ‘serious’ UK broadcaster or newspaper. But in a sane world, Stundin’s revelations about a key Assange witness — that Thordarson lied in exchange for immunity from prosecution — would have been headline news everywhere, with extensive media coverage…”

Most Exoplanets Won’t Receive Enough Radiation to Support an Earth-Like Biosphere

To date, astronomers have confirmed the existence of 4,422 extrasolar planets in 3,280 star systems, with an additional 7,445 candidates awaiting confirmation. Of these, only a small fraction (165) have been terrestrial (aka. rocky) in nature and comparable in size to Earth — i.e., not “Super-Earths.” And even less have been found that are orbiting within their parent star’s circumsolar habitable zone (HZ).

In the coming years, this is likely to change when next-generation instruments (like James Webb) are able to observe smaller planets that orbit closer to their stars (which is where Earth-like planets are more likely to reside). However, according to a new study by researchers from the University of Napoli and the Italian National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF), Earth-like biospheres may be very rare for exoplanets.

Norway: Muslim Migrant Teen Plots Jihad Massacre Using Poison or Explosives, Donates Money to the Islamic State

Norway, like other Western countries, welcomed Muslim migrants as “refugees” and gave them all assistance to start a new life. No one would have dared suggest that some of those coming might harbor jihadist sentiments and support the Islamic State. That would have been “Islamophobic” and “racist.”

UK’s Priti Patel Announces ‘Harsher Sentences’ Against Illegal Channel Crossings

As controversy mounted over the French Coastguard handover of illegal migrants to the British Border Force in the mid-English channel, UK home secretary Priti Patel on Saturday announced a “severe prison sentence” under the Nationality and Borders Bill to deter unlawful asylum seekers from entering into the UK.

In a bid to fix UK’s “broken asylum system,” Patel is expected to announce the proposed legislation in the House of Commons on forthcoming Tuesday. The new legislation will make illegal border immigration a “criminal offense” leading to a maximum prison sentence of four years, up from six months, according to several reports. If found guilty of smuggling undocumented migrants across the channel, the UK border force officials risk a prison sentence of up to 14 years, as per the terms in the new legislation.

A separate clause states, that those arriving unlawfully or entering the UK by covert means despite interception by the British Border Force in British territorial waters might face prosecution “immediately”.
