Czechs Declare Household Economic Situation Best in 20 Years

According to the survey, 58 percent of Czechs can easily live on their income. On the other hand, 40 percent of people admit to financial struggles. The assessment of the economic situation of one’s household is thus the best since 2002 when the Center for Public Opinion Research (CVVM) started this survey. One-fifth of those who responded consider their household to be poor, which is the lowest proportion since the inception of the survey. The assessment of the economic situation of households has been steadily improving since 2013.

The worst evaluation was recorded in 2012, when only 30 percent of respondents could easily manage to live on their income. “This was not an accidental fluctuation, but a gradual deterioration after 2008, in parallel with the global economic recession. On the contrary, we have been observing a gradual improvement since 2013, and despite the undercurrent of the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s evaluation is the best for the entire period under review,” said the statisticians.

Did Critical Race Theory Lead to Ouster of Latino Student at Catholic School in California?

The parents of a Jesuit High School student have filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the suburban Sacramento institution, alleging that their son’s objections to teaching critical race theory led to him being labeled a “bigot” and his forced withdrawal from school.

The lawsuit, filed late Thursday in federal court in Sacramento, identifies the student only as “A.P.,” a 17-year-old Mexican-American student with attention deficit hyperactivity syndrome and dyslexia who has been studying at Jesuit through an accommodation plan.

The suit names as defendants the Roman Catholic school in Carmichael, President John P. McGarry and Principal Michael Wood, who were unavailable for comment Friday.

Gov. Cuomo Begs Businesses to Return to NYC After Crippling Lockdowns

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is begging companies to stop remote work and return to their New York City offices in order to support the local businesses that have suffered under his long and devastating shutdowns.

Cuomo said that while remote work, and even remote learning, were fine for a short amount of time, now is the time for residents to return in-person activities. He is hopeful office workers will be back by Labor Day.

“Remember, we have to get people back and we have to get people back in volume. If you were to see a 15% decline of people coming back to New York City, that would have a devastating impact on the commercial market,” said Cuomo.

Gunn, Reeves Vow to Ban Critical Race Theory in Schools: ‘Can’t Take a Chance’

Mississippi House Speaker Philip Gunn promised attendees at the Neshoba County Fair yesterday that he will back legislation next year to ban “critical race theory” in Mississippi’s K-12 classrooms—despite the fact that it is not taught in K-12 classrooms.

“Ladies and gentleman, we can’t take a chance on critical race theory,” Gunn, a Republican, told the largely white, conservative crowd gathered at the Neshoba County Fair on Thursday. “We cannot allow it to be introduced into our schools. Socialists seek to turn Americans against each other and against this country by introducing critical race theory into our schools. We need to find ways to bring people together—not tear them apart.”

Netflix to Mandate Vaccines for Cast Members, Employees on Production Sets

As the world copes with trying to figure out how to return to normalcy, the streaming giant Netflix will require staff to be vaccinated.

An exclusive from Deadline reports that company management has sent word down to production projects that COVID-19 shots are mandatory for the workplace—the caveat being that the vaccine mandate is for “Zone A” actors and crew who have to work on film sets without any protections.

It’s described as a blanket policy across all the company’s US sites. This distinction stands out as last week’s negotiations by studios and unions in Hollywood came to an “optional” and “production-by-production basis” as seen fit.

‘Propaganda’ And ‘Indoctrination’: Pennsylvania Parents Push Back Against Critical Race Theory in Schools

National File attended a school board meeting for the Haverford School District in Pennsylvania earlier this month, where parents showed up in an overwhelming display of opposition to the instituting of Critical Race Theory in their children’s schools.

“The teaching is at best propaganda and at worst indoctrination,” remarked Angela Urso, the first parent to speak about the topic. Her main topic of concern was the inclusion of books by the radical author and ‘Critical Race Theorist’ Ibram X. Kendi on the mandatory summer reading list for her child. She viewed the inclusion of such a book as only fanning the flames of division in her community. “My family has been in Havertown for three generations. I have never seen so much hate in our community, so much division in our community,” she later told National File.

Walmart Forcing All Workers to Mask Up, Managers to Get Vaxxed

The new policy came three days after the CDC reversed its May mask guidance, calling on all people to wear face coverings indoors in the approximately two-thirds of the country where the deadly virus and its Delta variant are spreading rapidly.

Canada’s Next Proposal to Censor the Internet

Canada’s ruling Liberals are continuing their efforts to bring radical forms of internet censorship to the country’s online space.

The latest proposal, described as a vast and wide-ranging system in Canadian press reports, sets the goal of preventing illegal content from being posted on Facebook, Pornhub, YouTube, and other major platforms. Child pornography and “hate speech” — two very different types of content — are singled out in these reports as examples of what would qualify as illegal under the new law.

The draft was made public on Thursday and Canadians will have until the end of September to comment on it. The plan is to have large fines — up to $70,000 — imposed on those found in violation of these rules, and put pressure on platforms to comply with takedown requests regarding content flagged by users within 24 hours.

‘Psychic Gym Bro’ Recognized for Predicting Lockdown Agenda

‘Psychic gym bro’ Chris Sky is being recognized for his stunningly accurate predictions, made early last year, during which he laid out the entire lockdown agenda, including how compulsory mask mandates would return even for vaccinated people.

The clip shows Sky talking to an interviewer in the spring of 2020, mere weeks into the first lockdown and his words became even more prescient as each month rolled by.

“You don’t need the mask, the mask is about compliance… next they’re going to tell you to take the vaccine…and because they know [you] like to do what you’re told… they are hoping that everyone just complies,” said Sky.

“Next they’re going to tell you ‘sorry, the vaccine isn’t as effective as we told you it was gonna be’… so now you still have to wear your mask,” he adds.

That forecast has perfectly come to pass following the CDC’s u-turn on mask wearing, which has forced even the vaccinated to cover up once again, leading to widespread disaffection even amongst the most vehement pro-vaxxers.

[Comment: Wikipedia says “Christopher Saccoccia, also identified by the pseudonym Chris Sky, is a Canadian right-wing activist known for his involvement in the anti-mask, anti-lockdown, and anti-vaccine movements during the COVID-19 pandemic.’]

A ‘Very Exciting’ Unique Exoplanet Has More Water Than Earth

The CHEOPS satellite accidentally spotted a rare exoplanet with no known equivalent. The satellite detected this unique exoplanet while looking for two exoplanets in a bright nearby star system.

This planet called ‘Nu2 Lupi d’ is located 50 light-years away in the constellation Lupus (Latin for Wolf), around a star called Nu2 Lupi. It is about 2.5 times the size of Earth and almost 9 times its mass

What’s more, scientists used measurements with archival data from other observatories and numerical models to characterize the density and composition of the planet and its neighbors. They found that the planet has a rocky interior. It has far more water than the Earth. However, the water is not liquid; instead of taking high-pressure ice or high-temperature steam, making the planets uninhabitable.

The ban was based on participants consistently refusing to adhere to coronavirus restrictions, including hygiene standards and distancing from fellow protesters.

Participants also explicitly said they would refuse to wear face masks during the protest as this was meant to be “the trademark and stated goal” of the protests.

The whole pandemic is one colossal fraud,” Igor, who came from Trnava, said. Protesters called vaccination a “genocide of the nation” and government measures a “restriction of human rights”.

There Have Been More Acts of Violence in France This Year Than During the Yellow Vest Protests

Murders and violent crimes are significantly more prevalent in France in the first half of this year than two years ago, during the turbulent times of the yellow vest protest movement, an analysis by Le Figaro indicated. Tensions in society are rising, and physical assaults have never been more frequent than in the first six months of this year. There have been a total of 350,000 assaults already, compared to 300,000 in the first six months of last year.

In the first half of 2019, there were 320,000 such physical assaults. The statistics include assaults of all kinds, from attacks in the street, at school, between partners or within the family, against the police, at police stations, and on firefighters. On average, there are 2,000 attacks each day in France, Le Figaro calculates, adding that these are just the assaults reported to the police.

This year’s number of attacks increased by 16 percent compared to last year, but the telling value of this increase is made salient by the fact that in the first half of last year, the French spent two months in quarantine. If this year’s figures are compared to 2019, when there were numerous anti-government protests throughout France by the so-called yellow vests, who often caused fights, the increase is ten percent.

“So you’re saying once the baby comes out it’s not my property no more, yes it is, I gave birth to it, it’s got my blood running through it,” the mother asserts.

Russia World’s Largest Oil Producer So Far This Year

Russia produced an average of 10.36 million barrels of crude oil per day in January-May 2021, while the average U.S. production was 11.10 million barrels per day, fresh data from official Russia statistics agency Rosstat showed. Saudi Arabia slipped back to third place with an average daily production of 8.27 million barrels of crude oil.

In the first five months of 2021, oil accounted for 41.3 percent of Russia’s total exports, while its exports fell 16.9 percent from the previous reporting period, to about 50.8 million tons. The country produced a total of 212.3 million tons of crude oil this year, down 6.2 percent year-on-year.

However, analysts say Russia’s oil production is likely to increase in the coming months. The reason for this is an

increased demand and the global economic recovery following the Covid-19 pandemic. Oil prices have recently reached a three-year high, so OPEC member countries have agreed to increase daily oil production in August.

Danish NGOs to Sue Government Over Nation’s Strict Immigration Controls

Under an amendment to the law passed in June, those wishing to immigrate to Denmark are required to wait outside the country for the asylum procedure to end. The amendment also allows Denmark to relocate immigrants who have already entered Danish territory to a non-European country for the same purpose, and if the Danish authorities decide that the migrant cannot be admitted to the Nordic country, he or she must also leave the “host” country.

However, Danish law also states that a residence permit already issued must be revoked if the conditions of the permit no longer apply, for example because conditions in the asylum seeker’s home country have improved. This passage is now being sharply attacked by NGOs, as Denmark has created an opportunity for itself to review the status of those with temporary permits coming to the country.

Vladimir Legoyda, Chairman of the Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media of the Moscow Patriarchate, urged not to accuse the films and books about Harry Potter of devilry and magic. According to him, one should not bring the situation to the point of absurdity.

According to Legoida, it is wrong to denounce J.K. Rowling’s books “of some kind of magic and devilry.” He noted that if you approach Harry Potter from this position, then similar moments can be seen in Russian folk tales.

“There are, of course, Christian meanings, and we can see a lot there simply because Rowling is a person of a certain culture – European, Christian culture,” the official of the Moscow Patriarchate stressed.
The discussion about Harry Potter abounded with extreme assessments in the ROC-MP. So, the second film based on the book was often called demonic obsession and demanded to be banned in Russia. Although they write a lot about what a mess now in Ukraine, one should not discount the Russian routes.
