Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/8/2021

Two Minnesota counties have withdrawn their sheriff’s deputies from a U.S. Marshals task force in the wake of the fatal shooting of Winston Boogie Smith Jr. during an attempted arrest by the task force. The issue is that the U.S. Marshals Service would not allow task force participants to use body cameras, so there is no video record of the shooting of Mr. Boogie. The Marshals Service says that it has changed its regulations to allow body cameras, but the changes will take a while to implement.

Hungary’s Left-Wing Amendments Would Put Huge Holes in Country’s Budget

Hungary’s left-wing opposition has submitted 1,148 amendments to Hungary’s budget for next year, which, if adopted, would cause an additional imbalance of 8,800 billion forints (€25 billion to €37 billion), Minister of Finance Mihaly Varga said in a video message posted on Facebook on Monday.

He stressed that the far-right Jobbik’s proposals alone would spend three times the budget’s emergency reserve. Members of the green LMP faction would hit businesses not only by raising taxes, but also by introducing new types of taxes, he noted.

[Comment: Left-wing economics is ruinous.]

Hungarian Economy to Take Off This Year: Opinion

Final data for Hungary’s first quarter GDP data recently reported by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) have shown a marked improvement. According to all forecasts, the Hungarian economy will explode higher this year, thanks to which we will catch up with our 2019 performance.

It will be an unparalleled achievement because most Western economies will only be able to show the same thing in a year’s time.

In a quarterly comparison, the Hungarian economy expanded by 2 percent, which exceeded all forecasts. In addition, the country has already resumed its growth in the last quarter of 2020. In other words, we were able to experience a series of surprises: the figures published earlier also reflected a positive mood, the current figures, which are slightly better, can be said to be unexpected and suggest that the Hungarian economy is continuing to catch up.

Bill Would Ban Critical Race Theory in Schools

Several Republicans in the state House of Representatives are backing legislation to prohibit the teaching of “critical race theory” in Pennsylvania schools.

House Bill 1532 would enact the “Teaching Racial and Universal Equality Act” to include in state law that no Pennsylvania school district, public postsecondary institution, or state or local government entity shall teach that any race or sex is superior to another, that any individual based on their race or sex is inherently racist or sexist, or that any individual should receive favorable treatment or be discriminated against based on their race or sex.

Fischer Proposes Bill Banning Critical Race Theory in Public Schools

FRANKFORT, Ky. (KT) — Kentucky families concerned about a national trend towards the teaching of critical race theory in classrooms can now follow legislation that seeks to ban it in Kentucky schools. The bill, BR 60, was proposed Tuesday by Rep. Joe Fischer of Ft. Thomas.

Fischer proposed the bill at the request of constituents who contacted him after a proposal to include critical race theory in curriculum for the 2021-2022 school year at Highlands High School was considered. The School-Based Decision Making Council ultimately rejected the proposal. However, BR 60 comes just weeks after the Biden administration announced a grant program for history and civics education that prioritizes instruction on “systemic racism” and promotes an ambitious “whole-of-government equity agenda.” The grant will be administered by the U.S. Department of Education.

Gov. DeSantis Seeks to Shield Florida’s Universities From Chinese Espionage, Theft

Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill on Tuesday to protect higher education institutions in the state from espionage and intellectual property theft carried out by China’s Communist Party.

Known as HB 7017, the bill requires more transparency and disclosure from scientists, technicians and administrators on foreign support for postsecondary institutions. It also increases scrutiny for research grants.

“Make no mistake — China is a hostile foreign power, and every Governor has the responsibility to protect their education system, and every other entity within their purview, from the espionage and commercial theft undertaken by the Chinese Communist Party,” DeSantis said in a statement.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a new law that she said will target the teaching of critical race theory and other concepts in government diversity trainings and classroom curriculum.

It teaches kids that we should judge others based on race, gender or sexual identity, rather than the content of someone’s character,” Reynolds said in a statement. “I am proud to have worked with the legislature to promote learning, not discriminatory indoctrination.”

Israeli Container Ship Remains Moored in Seattle, After Pro-Palestinian Groups Backed by Antifa Target the Port

A large container ship owned by ZIM, an Israeli shipping company, has remained moored in the middle of Elliot Bay near Seattle since last week when Antifa-backed, anti-Israel groups threatened to block the ship from unloading.

Update: According to sources at the port, the ship remains moored in the bay due to a backlog at the port.

In 2018, ZIM entered a partnership with the 2M Alliance, one of the world’s largest shipping organizations and has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) since February 2021. The company transports products from many different countries all over the globe.

Minnesota Sheriff Pulls Deputies From US Marshals Task Force Over Bodycams

Winston Boogie Smith Jr. shooting was not captured on bodycam, dashcam or surveillance footage, state investigators say

A sheriff in Minnesota is pulling his deputies from a federal U.S. Marshals task force amid concerns about a lack of transparency after state investigators say there is no body-camera, dash-camera or surveillance footage of the fatal officer-involved shooting of a Black man in Minneapolis last week.

Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher said late Monday that his deputies will no longer participate in the U.S. Marshals North Star Fugitive Task Force “until body cameras are actually authorized.”

He made the decision days after 32-year-old Winston Boogie Smith Jr. was fatally shot in the top level of a parking ramp in Minneapolis’ Uptown neighborhood on June 3. Fletcher said neither the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office nor the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office was offered the opportunity to use body cameras until after Smith’s death.

“The United States Marshals Service has been misleading in their public comments in the media. In Minnesota, the Marshals office has refused to allow us to wear body cameras since the advent of the technology and any new policy has not been implemented,” Fletcher said in a statement obtained by Fox 9 Minneapolis. “Despite regular requests from local law enforcement, the normal refrain from the Marshals office has been and continues to be ‘we’re working on the problem.’“…

In an email to the New York Times Saturday, Khilanani, who is of Indian descent, defended her comments, saying that her words had been taken out of context in what she calls an attempt to “control the narrative” around race.

“Too much of the discourse on race is a dry, bland regurgitation of new vocabulary words with no work in the unconscious,” wrote Khilanani. “And, if you want to hit the unconscious, you will have to feel real negative feelings.”

Ohio Attorney General Files Lawsuit Against Google to Declare Tech Giant a Public Utility

On Tuesday, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost filed a “landmark lawsuit” that asks courts to declare big tech company Google a public utility in an effort to protect Ohioans.

“Google uses its dominance of internet search to steer Ohioans to Google’s own products — that’s discriminatory and anti-competitive,” Yost said in a press release. “When you own the railroad or the electric company or the cellphone tower, you have to treat everyone the same and give everybody access.”

The lawsuit, which was filed in Delaware County Court, pushed for two actions against Google

“It seeks a legal declaration that Google is a common carrier (or public utility) subject to proper government regulation,” states the press release. “It says Google has a duty to offer sources or competitors rights equal to its own, meaning it should not prioritize the placement of its own products, services and websites on search results pages. Those equal rights should extend to advertisements, enhancements, knowledge boxes, integrated specialized searches, direct answers and other features.”

“The school’s ideology requires students to see themselves not as individuals, but as representatives of a group, forcing them to adopt the status of privilege or victimhood,” Stangel-Plowe wrote in her letter to school brass.

The protests were held in response to the murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin.

Netherlands: Judge Says Russian-Made Missile May Have Hit Malaysian Airliner MH17 in Ukraine Crash That Killed 298

The judge presiding over a murder trial concerning the downing of Malaysian airliner MH17over eastern Ukraine has said there is evidence that the plane was hit by a Russian-made missile.

Four fugitive suspects — three Russians and a Ukrainian citizen — are being tried in absentia in a secure courtroom in the Netherlands over the incident of 17 July 2014 in which a Boeing 777 passenger plane, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was brought down — killing all 298 people on board.

MH17 crashed into a field in territory held by pro-Russian separatists, who were engaged in fighting against Ukrainian forces at the time.

“Experts have stated that the impact on the hull is compatible with a BUK missile system and a BUK warhead. No damage was found that would not be compatible with that scenario, or that would indicate another scenario,” Judge Hendrik Steenhuis said.

Polish Government to Introduce 10 ‘Polish Deal’ Projects Within 100 Days

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki revealed on Wednesday which Polish Deal projects the government will carry out first.

“This is a concrete and credible vision, and we want to show and prove this through the changes we will carry out in 10 key areas within 100 days,” he said.

The first project which the government will handle is the raising of the tax-free allowance up to €6,700. Second will be the project for tax-free pensions and third will be the abolishment of limits within the health service for specialists.

Pope Francis is Politicizing His Visit to Hungary

Diplomatic tensions between the Vatican and the Hungarian government are growing since reports of the pope’s intention to avoid meeting Hungarian heads of state during his planned visit have emerged. Pope Francis is expected to visit the country on Sept. 12 and celebrate a mass on Budapest’s Hero’s Square during the closing ceremony of the International Eucharistic congress.

However, speaking to journalists on his flight back from Iraq in March, the pope had stated that “it is not a visit to the country, but for that Mass.” Later reports have emerged that he only intends to stay in the country for three hours, and leave straight after the mass to neighboring Slovakia for a three-day visit. This would be a serious deviation from the usual papal protocol, since it is unprecedented that a pope would omit a formal meeting with heads of state during a visit to a country’s capital.

His highly symbolic refusal to meet President Janos Áder or Prime Minister Viktor Orban is seen by many as Pope Francis politicizing his visit and using the solemn occasion to humiliate members of Hungary’s conservative government. It is no secret that the pope and the Hungarian establishment do not see eye to eye when it comes to the topic of illegal mass migration, yet until now both sides have avoided an open political confrontation over the topic.

[Comment: It is a shame that the Pope is acting like this, for Hungary is showing the way forward for Christian nations.]

UK: Almost 1,000 COVID Fines Issued by Bedfordshire Police — 58 for Failing to Wear a Face Covering and Six for Breaching International Travel Rules

Bedfordshire Police has issued almost 1,000 fines for breaches of Covid-19-related laws — but far fewer have been handed out since restrictions eased.

Human rights campaign groups say rapidly changing rules and “chaotic communications” have led to confusion over the fine system nationally, with some people unaware they were breaking the law.

Figures published by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) reveal a total of 972 fixed penalty notices were issued by Bedfordshire Police between March 27 last year and May 16 this year.

UK: Friends of BLM Activist Shot in the Head Refuse to Talk to Police to Help Find Killers

Critics have slammed the “friends” of Black Lives Matter activist Sasha Johnson, who was shot in the head by a gang of four black men, after they appeared to care little about her life by refusing to talk to police to help convict the killers.

Johnson was left in critical condition after being shot during a late night party in south London last month. It appears as though she was caught in the middle of a gunfight between rival gangs.

Despite professional race grifters initially claiming Johnson was targeted for her activism, authorities later confirmed the suspects were four black men.

18-year-old Cameron Deriggs was charged with conspiracy to murder but three other men who acted as potential accomplices were freed on bail until late June.

However, Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard says that precisely none of the 30 or so individuals who were at the party have agreed to speak to police.

Turkey: Erdogan: ‘The Re-Opening of the Hagia Sophia as a Mosque is Important, As it is a Legacy of Conquest’

Erdogan couldn’t be clearer in signaling what is coming, and it should be clear to everyone, but isn’t: in February 2018, he declared his desire to reconquer the lands the Ottoman caliphate once ruled: “Those who think that we have erased from our hearts the lands from which we withdrew in tears a hundred years ago are wrong. We say at every opportunity we have that Syria, Iraq and other places in the geography [map] in our hearts are no different from our own homeland. We are struggling so that a foreign flag will not be waved anywhere where adhan [Islamic call to prayer in mosques] is recited. The things we have done so far [pale in comparison to the] even greater attempts and attacks [we are planning for] the coming days, inshallah [Allah willing].”

UN Investigators Find That Islamic State Gave Yazidis Ultimatum: Convert to Islam or be Killed

Meanwhile, Western politicians were falling all over themselves to assure the world that the Islamic State (ISIS) had nothing whatsoever to do with Islam. This is either appalling ignorance on the part of those whose job it was and is to know better, or willful dishonesty. Either way, this refusal to face reality continues to deform our response to the jihad threat, in ways that sooner or later will be catastrophic, as jihadis take advantage of the fact that our attention has been elsewhere for so long.

India: Madrasa Giving Bomb Making Training? Massive Blast in Madarsa in Bihar’s Banka. Many Injured.

Upendra Bharti | HENB | Patna | June 8, 2021:: The roof of a madarsa (Islamic seminary) in Bihar’s Banka district collapsed following a massive blast on Tuesday morning which also damaged nearby buildings. The madarsa is located under Nagar police station limits. At least half dozen people are reported to be injured in the incident, although the police are yet to confirm it. The Madarsa situated near a Mosque was apparently closed due to lockdown, but some suspicious activities were running there hidden.

Banka Nagar police station in-charge Shambhu Kumar said that a bomb exploded in a Madrasa, located near a mosque, on Tuesday morning in Navtolia area. The Madrasa building has been completely damaged in this incident.

“Madarasa wasn’t functional due to lockdown. We’re waiting for FSL team & bomb squad to arrive at spot. There is no evidence of any injured person at moment. Cause of blast is yet to be ascertained,” says Arvind Gupta, SP Banka.

The station in-charge told IANS that prima facie it appears to be a case of huge bomb blast. He said that a team of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) is being called to probe the incident. Whether it was a case of bomb blast or a cylinder explosion, will be known only after investigation, police said.

The Madarsa education system in India has been criticized severally for its fundamental Islamic teaching. But, now the Banka explosion in Madarsa puts again a serious question mark that whether bomb making is imparted in the Islamic seminaries to fulfill the scope of Jihad in India or for a preparation of Ghazwa-e-Hind!

After Khagragarh Blast in West Bengal, a network of Madarsa bomb making was unearthed+. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) first tracked the presence of Islamic terror organization JMB in West Bengal after the Khagragarh blast (Burdwan) in 2004.

Interestingly, all the Muslim male members of Navtolia area left the place immediately after the blast only to avoid police arrest as they knew what was going there!

India: Muslim Politician Says Cyclones and Coronavirus Are Because Government ‘Tampered With Islamic Sharia Law’

This is why Muslim countries all enjoy perfect weather. In any case, it is an important insight into the mindset of many Muslims who become jihadis. They believe that by working to please Allah they will stave off personal and societal disasters. Since waging war against unbelievers is a divine command (cf. Qur’an 8:39, 9:29, etc.), this mindset bodes ill for non-Muslims.

Overseas Journalists to Have Movements Tracked by GPS at Tokyo Olympics to “Strictly Manage Their Behavior”

Seiko Hashimoto, the President of the Toyko Olympics, has announced that foreign reporters attending the event will be tracked and managed via GPS and could have their passes revoked if they break the rules.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games were postponed due to the pandemic and are now due to open in just over six weeks.

Around 6,000 overseas journalists are expected to visit for the Olympics and will be forced to hand over a list of the places they’ll be visiting during their first two weeks in Japan. This list will then be used in conjunction with GPS tracking to regulate their movements and potentially dish out punishments.

Report: A Different Virus Leaked From Another Chinese Bio-Facility at Same Time as COVID-19

In the wake of renewed focus on the plausibility of the Wuhan lab leak of COVID-19, it has been noted that there was an outbreak of a DIFFERENT virus from another Chinese bio-facility at around the same time.

Reuters reported last year that “Brucellosis, a bacterial disease with flu-like symptoms, has infected more than 6,000 people in a single outbreak in northwestern China.”

The report further noted that “Usually caused by contact with animals, the outbreak in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu province, was due to a leak at a vaccine plant, according to Lanzhou’s health commission. People are still being treated at hospitals even though the outbreak happened a year ago.”

Taiwan: Cops Raid Family Funeral and Issue Fines After Neighbors Inform of Illegal Gathering

Police in Nantou County raided a funeral and issued fines to eleven family members, Saturday, June 5, after neighbors informed the police of an illegal gathering.

Chen Zhiwen, deputy sub-director of the Puli Police Station said that police had received a report Saturday that “twenty to thirty” people had gathered in Guoxing Township, against epidemic alert Level 3 mandates that limit gatherings to a maximum of five people indoors, and 10 people outdoors.

Police rushed to the scene to find a family holding a funeral ceremony in an open-ended marquee outside their home. A total of 11 people were in the marquee, wearing surgical masks, and maintaining social distance around the coffin containing the remains of a man named Yu.

Officers entered the funeral marquee to gather evidence, with one officer standing beside the coffin and taking video evidence. The family members were asked to provide their names, and informed that they were breaching epidemic prevention regulations and liable to fines of NT$60,000 each to a total of NT$660,000 (US$23,820).

US Government Lab Report From May 2020 Concluded That Wuhan Leak Needed Investigating

A report compiled by a US government lab in May 2020 found that it was entirely plausible that the origin of the coronavirus outbreak was the Wuhan Institute of Virology, yet it remained a secret for over a year, as the scientific community was pressured to dismiss anything other than ‘natural origin’ theories out of hand.

The Wall Street Journal revealed the existence of the report, summarising a study conducted last year by scientists at the the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, near Berkeley.

The researchers carried out genomic analysis of the Covid-19 virus in an effort to determine how it evolved.

They concluded that a lab leak was a potential cause of the pandemic, and that further investigation was needed.

Video: W.H.O. Advisor Says China Engaged in “Massive Cover-Up” of COVID Outbreak

A leading advisor for the World Health Organisation said Monday that China is still engaged in a “massive cover up” of the coronavirus pandemic, calling for a “full investigation” to be conducted by the US government and it’s international allies.

Appearing on Fox News, Jamie Metzl urged that “The Chinese have engaged in a massive cover-up that is going on until this day, involving destroying samples, hiding records, placing a universal gag order on Chinese scientists and imprisoning Chinese citizen journalists asking the most basic questions.”

Metzl, a former State Department official and Senate Foreign Relations Committee staffer, added that “The more that China stonewalls, the more suspicious that it looks.”

Mexico Midterm Elections See Severed Heads, Grenades, Poll Worker Murders

Mexico’s midterm elections took a bloody turn as voters saw severed heads, grenades and more at voting stations Sunday, according to reports.

Five polling station workers had been killed on the eve of voting in Chiapas, the BBC reported.

Local authorities found plastic bags filled with body parts in Tijuana near a voting station, and a man lobbed a severed head into the same voting station as Mexicans across the country cast their ballots.

Denmark Cracks Down on Mass Migration

The Danish Parliament has passed a new law that will allow the government to deport asylum seekers to countries outside of the European Union to have their cases considered abroad. The legislation is widely seen as a first step toward moving the country’s asylum screening process beyond Danish borders.

The law, proposed by the Social Democrat-led government, is aimed at discouraging frivolous asylum applications. It has been greeted with fury by those who favor mass migration, presumably out of fear that other EU countries may now follow Denmark’s lead.

Denmark, which already has some of the most restrictive immigration policies in Europe, is at the vanguard of European efforts to preserve local traditions and values in the face of mass migration, runaway multiculturalism, and the systematic encroachment of political Islam.

Greece: Two Charged in Sexual Assault on Koropi Beach

Two of six men accused in the sexual assault of a woman at a beach in Koropi, east of Athens, early Sunday evening were charged with cooperation in a privacy violation on Monday.

According to reports, the 26-year-old victim, who was surrounded by six men as she waited for her husband to get their car after a day at the beach, identified the two suspects as being part of the group, but said they were not actively involved in the actual assault.

The woman says one of the six men tore off her shirt while another filmed the attack on a mobile phone.

Police who arrived at the scene shortly after the woman started screaming for help, scattering the assailants, say the footage was being streamed live, but did not provide details as to the platform or the possible intended recipients.

Officers were able to arrest two of the six suspects and are looking for the other four.

The two men in custody have been identified as being Pakistani nationals, aged 20 and 36 respectively, who worked as labourers at a nearby farm.

They may also face deportation, as they do not have the proper papers to be in the country.

UK: ‘We Have Not Committed That Big a Crime,’ Rochdale Groomer Facing Deportation Tells Tribunal

A member of a Rochdale grooming gang who is fighting to remain in the UK has told a tribunal he “has not committed that big a crime”.

Adil Khan, 51 and Qari Abdul Rauf, 52, have been told they are to be sent back to Pakistan for the public good after both were part of a notorious gang convicted of a catalogue of serious sex offences against young girls.

Khan, who got a 13-year-old girl pregnant but denied he was the father, told an immigration tribunal hearing on Tuesday: “We have not committed that big a crime.”

Both men are appealing against the deportation order served on them last July, with Khan citing his human rights as reason not to be removed from the UK.

He also claims to have renounced his Pakistani citizenship which would make him “stateless” and would be a bar to deportation.

Khan, who also trafficked a 15-year-old girl to others, using violence when she complained, was sentenced to eight years in 2012 and released on licence four years later.

UK: Public Backs Ban on Illegal Migrants Claiming Asylum

Illegal migrants should be banned from claiming asylum, according to 60 per cent of the public in a new poll.

By a majority of three to one, Britons want a change in the law that would mean any migrant who came to the UK illegally through a “safe” country should be barred from claiming asylum. Sixty-one per cent were in favour, to 21 per cent against, according to the YouGov poll.

Exactly half backed the principle that the Government should take account of how a migrant arrives in the UK and penalise them if they entered by an illegal route. That compared with 37 per cent who believed any asylum application should be based solely on need.

Breaking: Teacher Suspended for Speaking Out Against Compelled Pronouns Reinstated

A gym teacher who was suspended for refusing to use students preferred pronouns has been reinstated. He made the refusal due to his Christian beliefs.

Tanner Cross was suspended from his post teaching physical education at Leesburg Elementary School in Loudon County, Virg. last week after he told the school board that they could not force him to tell to tell students that biological sex was a mutable human condition.

He was represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom, which posted a statement reading: “Tanner Cross, a Virginia elementary school teacher and ADF client who was suspended for raising concerns to the board about a proposed gender policy, has won a temporary injunction and the judge has ordered his reinstatement. Not only did this criminal masquerading as a doctor, lie about masks, lockdowns and everything else, he demonstrably lied about the therapeutics that saved people’s lives including Hydroxychloroquine, Ivermectin and several others that are mentioned in the article.

Think about it- doctors were NOT ALLOWED to treat covid patients with life saving drugs! Instead the only choice you had if you got the CCP virus was to go to the hospital and end up on a ventilator which was basically a death sentence.
