Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/12/2021

Two gunmen opened fire last night outside of a nightclub in Austin, Texas, wounding fourteen people. Most of the wounded were thought to be innocent bystanders. While the two suspects were still on the lam, a local paper declined to provide any descriptions, in order not to “reinforce stereotypes”.

In other news, illegal migrants were hidden in used armchairs and sofas carried by delivery drivers across the English Channel to the UK, unbeknownst to the drivers of the trucks.

10 Shot, 1 Killed in Attack on Chicago Sidewalk

A woman died and nine others were injured early Saturday morning when two men opened fire in the parking lot of Chicago’s oldest Black-owned business.

Lem’s Bar-B-Q on the city’s South Side had been closed for hours, but there was still a crowd in the lot in the busy neighborhood at around 2 a.m. when the two men started shooting.

Biden Declines to Mention Islamic State in Pulse Massacre Statement

President Biden issued a statement Saturday commemorating the five-year anniversary of the Pulse nightclub massacre in Orlando, Fla.

The attack by gunman Omar Mateen left 49 dead at the LGBT nightclub, marking the deadliest act of Islamic terror on US soil since 9/11. Mateen was shot dead by police.

“In the coming days, I will sign a bill designating Pulse Nightclub as a national memorial, enshrining in law what has been true since that terrible day five years ago: Pulse Nightclub is hallowed ground,” Biden wrote.

Biden DOJ’s Proposal to Stop Surveilling Members of the Press Appears to Only Apply to Traditional Media

Despite the fact that US President Biden publicly denounced the practice carried out by his predecessor’s administration to obtain information about journalistic sources through court orders as “simply wrong” — his own Department of Justice (DoJ) continued with the same policy, reports have revealed.

The news that the Trump era DoJ was getting communications records from a number of journalists and only informing them later concerned those employed by the Washington Post, the New York Times, and CNN. But then the New York Times said the new DoJ was doing it, too — just as Biden was blasting Trump for the very same practice.

Backed into a corner like this, the DoJ said late last week that it would from now on stop seeking “compulsory legal process in leak investigations to obtain source information from members of the news media doing their jobs.”

Congress Votes to Make Pulse Nightclub a National Memorial

Three days before the fifth anniversary of the attack on Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed legislation designating the site of the gay club a national memorial.

The House passed its version of the bill May 12. The measure now goes to President Joe Biden, who has supported a number of pro-LGBTQ proposals and is expected to sign it into law, though it’s unclear when.

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., introduced the Senate bill. Scott was governor at the time of the massacre, which saw 49 clubgoers killed and dozens more wounded before the shooter, Omar Mateen, was killed in a shootout with law enforcement after a three-hour siege.

Critical Race Theory: These States Are Already Cracking Down on the Controversial Concept

Critical Race Theory is a controversial philosophy — a progressive idea that proponents say can increase racial equity and which critics describe as Marxist, anti-American and neo-racist.

It’s either “a way of understanding how American racism has shaped public policy, or a divisive discourse that pits people of color against White people,” according to a recent article in Education Week.

“CRT seeks to diminish the reality that we are all unique and precious in God’s eyes,” Melody Clarke of Heritage Action for America told Fox News Friday. “Our individual destiny is up to our God-given talent, drive and ambition, not what someone else thinks about us.”

Federal Judge Halts Biden Admin’s Relief Program That Discriminates Against White Farmers

Federal judge William Griesbach ruled Thursday that the Biden administration’s federal farm aid program that excludes white farmers cannot go forward, pending the outcome of legal challenges to it which are likely to prosper and succeed.

Griesbach commended in his legal opinion that lawsuits pending against the program, which is part of the Biden administration’s gargantuan COVID-19 relief package, “are likely to succeed on the merits of their claim,” and that the “use of race-based criteria in the administration of the program violates their right to equal protection under the law.”

Flags at Half-Staff Saturday as DeSantis Declares Pulse Remembrance Day in Florida

To mark the passage of five years since the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub, Gov. Ron DeSantis ordered state flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Saturday and asked Floridians to observe a moment of silence that morning.

In Thursday’s proclamation, DeSantis named June 12th as Pulse Remembrance Day and asked Florida residents to take a moment of silence at 9 a.m. to recognize the 49 people killed and dozens wounded in the mass shooting.

[Comment: Wikipedia says:

On June 12, 2016, Omar Mateen, a 29-year-old man, killed 49 people and wounded 53 more in a mass shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, United States. Orlando Police officers shot and killed him after a three-hour standoff.

In a 9-1-1 call made shortly after the shooting began, Mateen swore allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and said the U.S. killing of Abu Waheeb in Iraq the previous month “triggered” the shooting.]

Jim Jordan and Others in Congress Sponsor an Amendment to Section 230 Which Would Remove Immunity From Big Tech

On Friday Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), along with several of his Republican colleagues in Congress, introduced an amendment to standing Section 230 legislation, which is the bill that gives Big Tech providers immunity from lawsuits arising over content posted to their platforms.

The amendment has been dubbed the “Protect Speech Act”, and has been obtained by the Daily Caller in its current form as it has been presented before Congress. may be found in its entirety here on Scribd, and reads, in part:

“This bill modifies the immunity from liability of a provider or user of an interactive computer service (e.g., a social media company) for screening and blocking offensive content on its platform.”

“Specifically, the bill provides that this immunity shall not apply to any action taken to restrict access to or availability of material provided by another information content provider unless the action is taken in good faith based on an objectively reasonable belief that the material is (1) obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, promoting terrorism or violent extremism, harassing, promoting self-harm, or unlawful; or (2) violates the applicable terms of service or use.”

Liberal Newspaper Won’t Print Description of Black Male Suspect in Mass Shooting Because it ‘Could be Harmful in Perpetuating Stereotypes’

The Austin American-Statesman, a liberal-leaning news outlet in Texas, published an article on the mass shooting that happened early Saturday morning, but refused to print the police’s description of the at-large black male suspect.

At least 14 victims were left injured. One suspect, described by local law enforcement as a slim black male with dreadlocks, escaped the scene.

“The Austin American-Statesman is not including the [police’s] description as it is too vague at this time to be useful in identifying the shooter and such publication could be harmful in perpetuating stereotypes,” the editor’s note reads at the bottom of the article, adding that reporting will be updated if more detailed information is released to the public and the press.

Police Seek 2 in Austin Mass Shooting That Wounded 14 People

Police were searching for two people suspected in a mass shooting on a crowded downtown Austin street early Saturday in which 14 people were wounded, including two critically.

Interim Police Chief Joseph Chacon said the shooting on a street packed with bars and barricaded off from vehicle traffic occurred at around 1:30 a.m. and that investigators believe it started as a dispute between two parties. He said police are searching for two male suspects, but he declined to disclose details such as whether both fired shots, saying the investigation was ongoing and the department was working to take them into custody.

“Most of the victims were innocent bystanders, but we’re still sorting out all of the victims to see what their involvement is in this case,” Chacon said.

The mass shooting — one of at least three in the U.S. overnight — sparked panic along 6th Street, a popular nightlife destination in the city that’s home to the University of Texas…

British MPs Call on Biden to Drop Charges Against Julian Assange

Two dozen British MPs from different parties have sent a letter to US President Joe Biden, asking him to end the multi-year legal and personal drama of Julian Assange and drop the espionage indictment raised against the Australian in the US.

They also praise him as having an important role in President Obama’s decision not to prosecute Assange for publishing information about wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the Guantanamo Bay prison.

And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you. And do not marry polytheistic men until they believe. And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even though he might please you. Those invite to the fire, but Allah invites to paradise and to forgiveness, by His permission. And he makes clear his verses to the people that perhaps they may remember.” (Qur’an 2:221)

Pakistan: Vaccine Refusers to Lose Internet Access

The push to get as many people as possible inoculated with the Covid vaccine looks to be taking a turn towards the extreme in some countries, with civil liberties being crushed further.

Health and military authorities in Pakistan’s Punjab province, that has the largest population in the country, have announced a new policy that would punish citizens who refuse to get vaccinated by disabling their SIM cards, i.e., cutting them off from phone and mobile internet communication.

On Thursday, the Twitter account of Punjab’s Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department stated that mobile SIMs of unvaccinated people “may be blocked.”

Pakistan: Christian Mother of Five Abducted and Severely Abused

A Christian mother of five children, Venus Bibi, 30, of Sahoo Ki Malian (village), Sheikhupura, was recently freed from her kidnapper after a police complaint was registered against the abductor.

Venus and her husband are both brick kiln workers. According to her husband, Warris Masih, on April 1, 2021 Venus Bibi went out for household shopping. On her way back home some Muslim men blocked her way and told her accompany them and not make a noise.

Before she had time to process what they were saying, they grabbed her by the hand and dragged her to a car parked nearby.

Bibi resisted and started shouting but the kidnappers showed her a gun and told her to stop shouting otherwise they would kill her. Bibi got scared and stopped shouting. She said she heard one of them was saying to take her to Sahiwal, another town about 129 miles away from her hometown, so nobody could find her.

Warris said that Muhamad Akbar is the main person who kidnapped Bibi with the support of his companions. Warris further said this was not the first time he had kidnapped a Christian female, but he had done so in the past, but because he is rich and very influential the police never take any action against him. Because of the police’s inaction against him, he has been emboldened and therefore he continues to commit such crimes freely and regularly.

Czech Senate Calls for Political Boycott of Winter Olympics in China

The Czech Senate called on politicians not to attend next year’s Winter Olympics in China in order to avoid legitimizing the continuing human rights violations in the country. The Chinese embassy in Prague has already condemned this appeal.

According to the Upper House, Czech politicians should express their disapproval of the Chinese regime’s approach to Tibetans and Uighurs, but also to Taiwan and Hong Kong. In a resolution, senators pointed to the experience of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, when the Chinese government, contrary to its commitment to hold the Olympics in a free and open manner, restricted the free movement of athletes and journalists, said committee chairman Pavel Fischer.

Eritrean Bishops Condemn Nationalization of Catholic Schools and Hospitals

The Catholic Bishops of Eritrea have denounced the state appropriation of Catholic schools and health facilities, the latest casualties of the country’s governmental overreach.

Uganda: Muslim Employer Sends Hit Man to Murder Christian Because He Refused to Convert to Islam

magine if a Muslim employee’s Christian supervisor in any Western country sent a hit man to kill him because he refused to convert to Christianity. Yet such persecution of Christians and other religious minorities by Muslims is so commonplace that it is now practically expected, and largely ignored. The genocide of Christians and the persecution of minorities in general signifies that the lives of these victims are considered to be inferior in value to those of their persecutors.

So-called human rights organizations in the West have tacitly accepted Sharia abuses, instead of opposing them as they should have done. Now, due to mass migration, Islamization is advancing into once peaceful and advanced societies. The surrender has been due to political correctness and fear of being called “Islamophobic” for calling out Islam’s human rights violations.

Afghans Jailed in Greece Over Moria Migrant Camp Blaze

Four Afghan asylum-seekers were sentenced to 10 years in prison in Greece on Saturday for their part in a fire that destroyed the Moria migrant camp last year, in a case that highlighted the chronic refugee problem on Europe’s borders.

The men, charged with arson with risk to human life over the fire on the island of Lesbos last September, were found guilty after a court rejected a request by lawyers for three of them to be tried by a juvenile court because they were under 18 at the time.

Bosnia: Minister Cikotic: We Have the Number of Migrants Which is at the Level of the End of 2017

In the last few months, we have the number of migrants, which is at the level of the end of 2017, when we had the beginning of mass migrations in BiH. Migrants change routes, but they do not give up on arriving on EU soil. The Mediterranean route is growing, from Libya to Italy, from Morocco to Spain, from the North African coast to Europe, thousands of migrants arrive every day. According to UNHCR, about 10,400 arrived in Italy in the first four months. About 70,000 migrants are waiting to set off on the coast of Libya. Another, well-known Balkan route, proved to be extremely expensive for migrants. To arrive in BiH, migrants paid three to three and a half thousand euros per person. And all this in order to reach the Croatian border, from which they cannot go further.

Italy: Muslim Migrants Kidnap German Teen and Sexually Abuse Her for Months

The sex assaults of women by Muslim rape gangs (mainly Pakistani men) is all too common in the UK and seen increasingly in Europe. With a steady influx of Muslim migration, what might Westerners expect?

“The seizure of Infidel girls and their use as sex slaves is sanctioned in the Qur’an. According to Islamic law, Muslim men can take ‘captives of the right hand’ (Qur’an 4:3, 4:24, 33:50). The Qur’an says: ‘O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful for you your wives to whom you have paid their dowries, and those whom your right hand possesses of those whom Allah has given you as spoils of war’ (33:50). 4:3 and 4:24 extend this privilege to Muslim men in general. The Qur’an says that a man may have sex with his wives and with these slave girls: ‘The believers must win through, those who humble themselves in their prayers; who avoid vain talk; who are active in deeds of charity; who abstain from sex, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or the captives whom their right hands possess, for in their case they are free from blame.’ (Qur’an 23:1-6)”

  1. Sweden replaced two percent of its population in one year

We warned twenty years ago to no one’s benefit, of course. Now that the race is over, the politicians can not go that far yet. The question is, do those in charge end up in a courtroom? Maybe not, because they are so many that there will be no one left to govern, as it is not only the Social Democrats who have taken the lead in attacking their population, the so-called bourgeois are at least as bad. From Carl Bildt to Fredrik Reinfeldt. The maximum bet has been made, and the fall of the main culprits can be similar. Sweden replaced 2% of its population in one year – what happened next? Sweden’s violent crime surge could be linked to ‘extreme’ immigration policies.

    • You ain’t voting your way out of this mess, those bloody politicians that wrought this upon you will have to be put up against the wall for there any meaningful lesson to be learned on how to treat treachery and treason.

  2. Re: Theresa May statement seeming to express support for Brexit, you wrote “Disappointing that she couldn’t deliver Brexit.”
. . .From everything I’ve seen, May actually opposed the U.K leaving the EU. Her stated support for Brexit seems to have been false, a means to win her support from members of her party even as she worked to sabotage Brexit.
. . .Example: She constantly extended the alleged “deadline” for reaching agreement with the EU on terms. Had she not done that, the exit would have been automatic, with no payments by the U.K to the EU. That would have put the U.K. in a much stronger negotiating position, since the Brits could have dragged the legal wrangling out for years if not decades–in which case the EU would have been under pressure to take a far smaller settlement instead of continuing a legal fight for many more years.
. . .I’m convinced May was a plant–their equivalent of a RINO, like Paul Ryan or Mitch McConnell or Kevin McCarthy or Bill Barr or…the list is practically endless.

    • She acted as though she was a fifth columnist owing allegiance to the EU.
She is hated here in the UK, she did everything she could to delay Brexit, and then to get an agreement that to all intents and purposes kept us in!!!
      Horrible woman, a traitor.
