Amazon Illegally Raises Prices, D.C. Attorney General Says in Antitrust Suit

Amazon’s online retail monopoly violates antitrust law and leaves consumers paying artificially high prices, according to a lawsuit filed by Washington DC’s attorney general on Tuesday.

Vendors who sell their products on Amazon currently are forbidden from offering their own products with better terms or lower prices on other platforms, including their own websites, leading to “artificially high” prices across the market, DC Attorney General Karl Racine said while announcing the suit.

“[Amazon] maximizes its profits at the expense of third-party sellers and consumers, while harming competition, stifling innovation and illegally tilting the playing field in its favor,” Racine said. “We filed this antitrust lawsuit to put an end to Amazon’s illegal control of prices across the online retail market.”

Former NY Times Science Editor Slams Media Over Dismissal of COVID Lab Origin

Former New York Times science editor Nicholas Wade slammed the mainstream media for its early attempts to amplify Chinese propaganda by dismissing the lab leak origin of COVID as a “conspiracy theory.”

After a U.S. intelligence report confirmed that three researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology became so sick in November 2019 that they required hospital treatment, it’s become untenable for the media to continue to claim the whole issue is baseless.

According to Wade, the U.S. media was complicit in “a sustained Chinese propaganda effort” because of its failure to “take off its political glasses” and look at the cold hard facts.

Student Calls for Probe of Columbia Prof Who Called Him ‘Neo-Nazi, ‘ Told Him to ‘Drop Dead’ For Defending Trump

A Baruch College student is calling for an investigation into a Columbia University politics professor who called him a “Neo-nazi murderer lover” and told him to “drop dead.”

In April, Gabriel Montalvo, a student at Queensborough Community College at the time, took to Facebook to comment on a political cartoon critical of President Donald Trump’s handling of the coronavirus epidemic.

“People choose what they want to see and everyone has an opinion,” Montalvo wrote in response to the cartoon. He also noted it wasn’t helpful that media outlets had been usingfootage of crowded Italian hospitals to criticize Trump for America’s coronavirus problems.

He soon received a response from Columbia Professor Jeffrey Lax, who accused Trump of “murdering his own people through lies and actively horrible choices.”

From there, the conversation devolved, with Lax defending House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for ripping up Trump’s “racist bullshit speech” in 2020.

“Why don’t you just drop dead, you neo-nazi enabler,” Lax told Montalvo.

“How ironic that the most educated person on this thread is also the most incompetent who results in playground insults,” Montalvo answered. “Rather than having a discussion you would rather me die? Aren’t you a political science educator? I could only hope that the students who take your course get a refund.”

Wendy Kirkland is medically exempt from following the mask bylaw in her town of Woodstock, New Brunswick. It’s also her right not to be forced to share her private medical information with total strangers just to get a little shopping done.

In the time before the lockdown, society at large understood privacy and the notion that some disabilities are unseen but nevertheless real. Now in the toxic social soup of constant COVID hysteria, seeing someone with a bare face in a grocery store doesn’t trigger understanding about a possibly invisible medical condition, but can instead lead to police being called, tickets being issued for non compliance with mask bylaws, and in the case of Wendy, something much, much worse.

EU Sanctions Belarus for “State Terrorism,” National Airline Now Banned From Europe’s Airspace

As we noted on Monday European countries, following the example of Lithuania and the UK, are now effectively imposing a ban on European carriers flying through Belarusian airspace after Sunday’s Ryanair incident where the Ireland-based airliner was forcibly diverted from its flight path to land in Minsk, in order for Belarusian authorities to arrest anti-Lukashenko journalist Roman Protasevich.

And simultaneously EU leaders have barred Belarusian airlines from flying over EU territory, which would be devastating to state-owned Belavia’s operations and the Belarusian economy broadly. The UK on Monday confirmed that it has suspended the national Belarusian airline’s operating permit. Protasevich’s girlfriend Sofia Sapega had also been detained. “European leaders meeting in Brussels called for the release of the pair and hit back at Minsk by agreeing to ban Belarusian airlines from the bloc and urging EU-based carriers not to fly over its airspace,” Moscow Times reports.

UK Government Wants “All Possible Theories” Explored on Origin of COVID

The UK government issued a statement asserting that “all possible theories” as to the origin of COVID-19 must be explored, becoming the latest official entity to refuse to rule out the lab leak explanation.

The WHO’s investigation into the source of the pandemic outbreak must be “robust, transparent, and independent” and needs to “explore all possible theories,” said the government.

“The investigation needs to explore all possible theories on how COVID-19 made that jump from animals to humans and how it spread and that’s vital to ensure we learn lessons from this crisis and prevent another global pandemic,” Boris Johnson’s official spokesman said.

When asked directly about the theory that the virus was leaked from the Wuhan lab, the spokesman responded, “We want to let the WHO investigation run thoroughly and be carried out properly and then make a judgment from that.”

UK Says it Will Fine Facebook if it Allows Private Messaging

Facebook plans to implement end-to-end encryption to its messaging apps, a move that would effectively ensure only the sender and receiver can view messages. The UK’s Home Secretary has said the social media giant was operating in “dangerous territory” and warned the government would impose fines if it let people communicate without being tracked.

Home Secretary Priti Patel expressed her concerns that stronger encryption would jeopardize counterterrorism investigations and precent the interception of other crimes.

UK: Authorities Say Black Lives Matter Activist Was Shot in Head by Four Black Men

A leading Black Lives Matter activist in the UK was shot in the head by a gang of four black men, authorities have revealed.

Sasha Johnson was left critically ill after the four men dressed in dark clothing “entered the garden of the property and discharged a firearm,” according to Met Commander Alison Heydari.

The incident occurred at 3am at a property in Peckham, south London, during a house party.

BLM activists initially tried to suggest that the shooting may have been a targeted attack, asserting that Johnson had received death threats prior to the incident.

However, police say there is no evidence Johnson was deliberately targeted and her friend Imarn Ayton told the BBC, “the incident is more related to rival gangs as opposed to her activism.”

UK: Muslim Cleric Who Helps Cops Spot ‘Extremists’ Calls Israel ‘Terrorist State, ‘ Praises Jihad Terrorists

This epitomizes the British government’s abject incompetence and willful ignorance regarding the ideological roots, nature, and magnitude of the jihad threat. British officials wouldn’t know a “moderate” from an “extremist” if one of them screamed “Allahu akbar” and slit their throats. And while the witless and worthless Daily Mail primly notes that although Chisti referred to “mujahideen,” the term “can also mean those who engage in purely spiritual struggle,” it’s abundantly clear that a spiritual struggle is not what Chisti had in mind, unless you think Saladin defeated the Crusaders by means of prayer and fasting.

Azerbaijan Destroying All Traces of Christian Heritage, Using Armenian Gravestones to Build Roads

Azerbaijan is working from the Islamic assumption that jahiliyya, the society of unbelievers, is worthless trash, to be treated with contempt. The Qur’an suggests that the destroyed remnants of ancient non-Muslim civilizations are a sign of Allah’s punishment of those who rejected his truth: “Many were the ways of life that have passed away before you: travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who rejected truth.” (Qur’an 3:137) Accordingly, destroying the artifacts of non-Muslim civilizations is an act of Islamic piety.

Vox Stealth Edits Older Article “Debunking” Wuhan Lab Theory

Some large media outlets and “fact checkers” don’t appear to be above non-transparently revising articles, as they scramble to bring their reporting about the origin of coronavirus up to speed with the latest official position — i.e., that the outbreak may have started in a Chinese lab, after all.

This is the possibility mentioned last week by CDC Director Anthony Fauci. Previously, any mention of the lab in Wuhan, China, being the place where the virus was engineered, rather than emerging spontaneously in nature, was declared a conspiracy theory and banished from large social networks.

Aylmer’s Trans Community (Pop. 2) Protests Outdoor Sermon at Church of God, Calls Cops on Rebel News

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder in this day and age of COVID insanity, things become bat-shite crazy!

Last Sunday, we visited the Church of God in Aylmer, Ont. Two days prior to that, Ontario Superior Court Justice Bruce Thomas had ordered that new locks be placed on the exterior doors of the church. This was done to punish this place of worship for allegedly ignoring the Wuhan virus gathering rules. The church was also fined $117,000. Gross.

But that didn’t stop the sermon from going on — it was simply shifted outdoors. And a fun time was had by all.

Well, not all. Apparently, the transgender community of Aylmer loathes concepts such as freedom to assemble and freedom to worship. Odd, that. Aren’t these the same folks who demand that society be more tolerant and accepting of them?

The Great French War on Gender-Neutral Writing: Commentary

The spread and subsequent prohibition of so-called inclusive or gender-neutral spelling has also provoked a great social debate in France. Proponents of the practice say they want to increase women’s visibility, while opponents say they disfigure and make the French language illegible.

Francois Jolivet, a French pro-government MP, submitted a bill to parliament in February to ban inclusive — i.e. gender-neutral — writing for civil servants in the civil service, supported by both the ruling party and the opposition.

  1. George Floyd killed George Floyd. Death by misadventure. Full stop.

The cop he encountered as he succumbed to his self administered fentanyl (and if I recall correctly also meth) may be a bully and a proper ass but he’s not a murderer. He was so totally in the wrong place at the wrong time. My hope is that he is found not guilty of all crimes on appeal and is somehow made whole. My expectation is a little different from that.
