Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/5/2021

The “Conservative” government of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is considering mandating twice-weekly COVID tests for all citizens in an effort to stop new outbreaks of the disease. Meanwhile, police raided illegal lockdown-violating parties and raves in Scotland, England, and Spain.

In other news, a group called “White Lies Matter” stole a statue from a Confederate cemetery in Alabama and said they would destroy it if the ransom demanded is not paid.

France Cuts GDP Growth Predictions as it Begins Third Coronavirus Lockdown

France has cut its forecast on economic growth as the nation begins a new four-week lockdown.

The new GDP growth forecast is down to 5% from 6%. In 2020, France had an 8.1% economic contraction as a result of similar lockdowns.

As part of the lockdown — which began Saturday — the European country will impose a 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, close schools, and shutter 150,000 stores.

The situation for police officers in Portland is so bad that nearby Spokane, Washington is advertising for cops in Portland in a very public billboard campaign.

“We’re So Stupid Following Our Politicians” — Charles Barkley Unleashes One Minute of Truth on America

Forget Orwell’s “Two Minutes Hate.” NBA legend Charles Barkley unleashed ‘One Minute Truth’ on NCAA-Final-Four-watchers last night, telling viewers that:

“I truly believe in my heart most white people and black people are awesome people, but we’re so stupid following our politicians, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats.”

Charles Barkley said that politicians want black people and white people to hate each other so they can “keep their grasp of money and power.”

Barkley was responding to a feature that detailed how on April 4, 1968, Robert F. Kennedy broke the news about the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. to a crowd in Indianapolis, urging people to seek compassion and justice rather than anger and revenge, saying the vast majority of Americans, both black and white, want to live in peace with each other.

CBS Slammed for Slandering, Deceptively Editing “60 Minutes” Piece on Ron DeSantis

CBS was strongly criticized by a number of political commentators and public figures following a Sunday “60 Minutes” piece that deceptively portrayed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in a negative light.

The criticism came from an edited clip where reporter Sharyn Alfonsi asked DeSantis about his relationship with grocery store chain Publix, which donated $100,000 to his campaign and was also a key helper in vaccine distribution efforts.

COVID Vaccines: Dead Must be Autopsied

This is my latest snail mail letter to the committees below. We need tens of thousands of Americans in all 50 states to do the same. Just tailor the letter to the appropriate committee in your state legislature. Copy & paste into your word processor; add or shorten if you feel appropriate. If you can, attach a signature page: “We the undersigned respectfully request your committees begin investigations”. If a committee member gets a letter with 75 or 300 signatures it makes a huge difference.

When your state reps and senators on those committees get thousands of snail mail letters, they will feel the heat. Emails will get you a canned response. This country was brought to its knees literally in a matter of a few weeks. My God, the lives of tens of millions of Americans were destroyed and still being herded like cattle.

The fear factor is still strong out there because of the biased media and the obscene censorship by Google, Facebook, Twitter and others. I don’t know about you but I’m sick of hearing about COVID, alleged mutations (which is scientifically the wrong word) and how we must all remain on our knees.

If we do nothing, nothing will get done and the evil doers will win. They will continue beating scared Americans into the ground. The push for so-called “vaccine passports” reeks of Nazi Germany. Florida Governor DeSantis signed a bill into law on April 2, 2021: There will be no “vaccine passports” in his state either government or private sector.

DC Carjack Killers May be Back on the Streets Within Years

The two teenage girls who were charged with murder after the brutal carjack killing of a Pakistani Uber Eats driver may be back on the streets within years after reportedly securing a plea deal.

The shocking incident which occurred last month was caught on camera but received little media attention amidst a media narrative about “white supremacy” posing the biggest threat to Asians.

Mohammad Anwar resisted efforts by the two African-American girls to steal his vehicle as the pair used a taser to try to subdue him.

Spirit Airlines kicked a family off of a flight from Orlando to New York on Monday because their 2-year-old child was not wearing a mask… while she was eating.

The child was eating.

The flight attendant told the parents they weren’t complying with the mask policy and told them they had to pick up their belongings and deplane.

Other travelers sitting near the family defended them, but the flight attendant would not back down.

Free Speech Threatened by Censorship Extremists

Story at-a-glance:

  • A number of elected government officials are using their positions of power to pressure tech platforms into silencing voices of the opposition, or simply those whose speech they don’t agree with
  • In less than a year, we’ve gone from massively censoring COVID-19 treatment information, the origin of the virus and COVID-19 vaccine information, to censoring election disputes and conservative news networks, to now calling for the censoring of climate information
  • Censorship will continue to expand until all bases of human thought are covered. Our speech is the expression of our thoughts. To end free speech is to end the individual, which is the totalitarian end-game
  • Twelve state attorneys general, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration — which recently warned me to stop writing about vitamin D for COVID-19 prevention — and elected officials in Congress who are calling for censorship are all breaking the law
  • According to the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, “Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press …”

Majority of Americans Reject Democrats’ “Election Integrity” Outrage, Support Voter IDs

Earlier today, Mitch McConnell blasted the “Outrage Industrial Complex” over the lemming-like response to Georgia’s voting integrity reforms.

“Our private sector must stop taking cues from the Outrage-Industrial Complex,” McConnell added. “Americans do not need or want big business to amplify disinformation or react to every manufactured controversy with frantic left-wing signaling.”

It turns out McConnell is right and in fact, a new AP-NORC poll released Friday shows an overwhelming amount of American support requiring identification to vote.

Prosecutors Ask Jurors to Dismiss George Floyd Autopsy Findings

Authored by Jonathan Turley

I previously wrote that the key to conviction in the Derek Chauvin trial (and avoiding a cascading failure in all four cases) is the autopsy findings and the role of drugs (including fentanyl) in the body of George Floyd.

Prosecutors are now asking the jury to effectively dismiss the findings of the only official autopsy in the case and insist, contrary to those findings, that Floyd died from asphyxia, or, lack of oxygen. Some new disclosures may make that claim more difficult for the prosecution.

Last week, special prosecutor Jerry Blackwell admitted to jurors that Hennepin County Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker pointed to cardiac arrest as Floyd’s cause of death. However, he insisted that the state would prove that “was … not a fatal heart event,” but asphyxiation.

Supreme Court Justice Thomas Suggests Facebook, Twitter Could be Regulated Like Utilities

Authored by Jack Phillips via The Epoch Times

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas appeared to signal that Big Tech firms could be regulated after Facebook and Twitter suspended President Donald Trump earlier this year.

Thomas, considered a conservative on the high court, made the point during a 12-page submission as the Supreme Court issued an order that rejected a lawsuit over Trump’s blocking of certain Twitter users from commenting on his posts before his account was taken down. The Supreme Court said the lawsuit ultimately should be dismissed as Trump isn’t in office anymore and was blocked from using Twitter, coming after the Second Circuit Court of Appeals had ruled against Trump.

“Today’s digital platforms provide avenues for historically unprecedented amounts of speech, including speech by government actors. Also unprecedented, however, is control of so much speech in the hands of a few private parties,” Thomas wrote Monday (pdf).

“We will soon have no choice but to address how our legal doctrines apply to highly concentrated, privately owned information infrastructure such as digital platforms.”

Thomas also noted there are arguments suggesting digital platforms such as Twitter or Facebook “are sufficiently akin to common carriers or places of accommodation to be regulated in this manner.”

The Oldest Trick in the Book

By Gene Van Shaar

It’s the oldest trick in the book: Give something evil a nice-sounding name, identify it as being something fair and good, and repeat it over and over. That is exactly what is happening on a massive scale in our country right now. Gullible believers are being told that deception, theft, and violence are justified in serving a noble cause.

There you have it—Marxist hate magically becomes Social Justice and being a Social Justice Warrior (SJW) is a wonderful thing. In this deceptive paradigm, leftist thugs of all kinds, including Antifa and BLM, are to be admired and supported.

The President’s Son Admits He’s Working for the Chinese Communist Party

This week the infamous son of illegitimate President Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, admitted evidence showing he works for the Chinese Communist Party was accurate. Hunter left his laptop at a computer store while on a drug binge and never picked it up. Later it was turned over to the FBI, who did nothing with it. The New York Post finally published the information a year later.

The big reveal came during an interview on CBS Sunday Morning. When asked if the Laptop from Hell was his, Hunter essentially admitted it, but declared it was ‘stolen’…wait for it…by the Russians.

“Certainly, there could be a laptop out there that was stolen from me. It could be that I was hacked, it could be that it was Russian intelligence. It could be that it was stolen from me.”

Notice he does not say the laptop, with damning evidence of corruption, is not his.

Below is the transcript of an audio tape of Hunter speaking, found on the Laptop from Hell.

Statement: Police Defend Decision to ‘Intimidate’ Polish Pastor Who Called Them ‘Gestapo Nazis’, Demanded They ‘Get Out’

Calgary police were recorded on video as they stormed into a church run by a Polish immigrant to Canada, who promptly and forcefully demanded they leave the premises and ordered them not to return unless they obtained a warrant. Today they released a statement acknowledging and excusing their presence at the church…

As National File reported, Pawlowski, who immigrated to Canada from “Knurów, Poland, angrily forced police officers out of his church when they came to “intimidate” him and his congregants into calling off their Passover service.”

“Can you imagine those psychopaths? Passover? The holiest Christian festival in a year, and they’re coming to intimidate Christians during the holiest festival? Unbelievable. What is wrong with those sick psychopaths? It’s beyond me,” said Pawlowski. On Facebook, he wrote,”Police came to disrupt Church gathering! Gestapo came again to intimidate the Church parishioners during the Passover Celebration!!! Unbelievable.”

Ethnic Minorities Must “Help Themselves”, British Report Suggests

A recently published report commissioned by the British government had called for the country’s ethnic minorities to take an active part in looking after their own communities, rather than waiting for the government or public services to find solutions to problems that they are experiencing. Despite the wide-ranging, evidence-based research effort, the study conducted by the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities (CRED) has caused considerable controversy among Britain’s race-relations industry opinion-makers.

The study found that family values, religion, class, and economic circumstances have far “more significant impact on life chances than the existence of racism”. Dr. Tony Sewell, who led the creation of the report, had summarized his findings, writing, “put simply we no longer see a Britain where the system is deliberately rigged against ethnic minorities. The impediments and disparities do exist, they are varied, and ironically very few of them are directly to do with racism. Too often ‘racism’ is the catch-all explanation, and can be simply implicitly accepted rather than explicitly examined.”

Irish Bishops Protest Government Ban on Public Worship

The Irish bishops have sharply criticized the government for continuing to ban public worship, insisting that leaders fail to grasp the importance of religion for the people.

Ireland has distinguished itself for the harshest suppression of religious practice in all Europe, with months of lockdown and no Masses. Bishop Denis Brennan of Ferns attributed the harsh restrictions to an “unwillingness or inability in Ireland to appreciate the value of religion or spirituality” during the coronavirus pandemic.

Paleopharmaceuticals From Baltic Amber Might Fight Drug-Resistant Infections

For centuries, people in Baltic nations have used ancient amber for medicinal purposes. Even today, infants are given amber necklaces that they chew to relieve teething pain, and people put pulverized amber in elixirs and ointments for its purported anti-inflammatory and anti-infective properties. Now, scientists have pinpointed compounds that help explain Baltic amber’s therapeutic effects and that could lead to new medicines to combat antibiotic-resistant infections.

Spain Passes Law Mandating Face Masks Even While Swimming in the Sea

Spain has passed a new law forcing people to wear face masks everywhere outside and even while swimming in the sea.

Yes, really.

The legislation, which came into effect on Wednesday, mandates face coverings for children as young as six, with refusniks facing fines of EUR100 euros.

The only exemption to the rule is adults playing sports outside, but people tanning outside or swimming in a pool or the ocean are still required to cover up.

“This will apply to people who are sunbathing or even swimming in the sea,” confirms the London Evening Standard.

The utter stupidity and real danger of having to wear a face mask while swimming in the sea goes without saying.

Having to wear a face covering while placing yourself in a situation where you have a heightened risk of encountering breathing difficulties is totally insane.

Spain: An Illegal Party is Dismantled at Dawn in a Local in La Latina

For yet another weekend, Madrid has hosted different illegal parties in which the forces of order had to intervene to enforce the restriction measures in the face of the pandemic. This time the images taken during an intervention of the Municipal Police of Madrid have come to light in which the agents dismantled an illegal party, in the middle of the morning, in a place in the La Latina neighborhood.

The municipal authorities verified that the establishment was open at 1.45 am, on 24 Juanelo Street. The person in charge of the premises did not present the activity license, nor the compulsory insurance policy, as well as the different corresponding certificates. Twenty-one people who were at the clandestine party were also denounced for non-compliance with health and security measures.

On the other hand, this was not the only infraction detected in the district of La Latina this weekend. The agents carried out an inspection in another premises with 121 people inside, of which 60 were denounced for not wearing a mask, and found that dancing and tables with more than 4 people were allowed, among other infractions, for which the establishment was evicted and sealed.

Sweden Democrats and Alterative Media Listed Among Right-Wing Extremist Terrorist Threats

Every year, the Swedish National Center for Terrorist Threat Assessment (NCT), a government agency, releases a report assessing threats from extremist groups of various kinds. What is new this year is that right-wing parties and alternative media outlets have been labeled as terrorist threats nearly on the same level as radical Muslim groups.

The NCT was able to make these additions after it broadened the definiti9on of right-wing extremism, which, according to the government, now also includes a number of alternative media outlets and the Sweden Democrats.

As Russian Tanks Move Toward Ukraine, The Globe Braces for the Possibility That World War 3 Could Soon Erupt

At this hour, more Russian military forces are massed near Ukraine’s borders than we have ever seen before. Western military leaders say that they are concerned that the troop movements that we have witnessed in recent days may be leading up to an invasion, and if an invasion does happen it will greatly test the resolve of the Biden administration, EU leaders and NATO brass. In particular, the hawks in the Biden administration would almost certainly not be willing to just sit back and let the Russians conquer all of Ukraine. There would likely be a major response by the United States, and that could set off a chain reaction that could ultimately spark World War 3.

So what made the Russians suddenly move a massive invasion force toward Ukraine?

Well, it turns out that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky essentially signed a declaration of war against Russia on March 24th. The document that he signed is known as Decree No. 117/2021, and you won’t read anything about it in the corporate media.

I really had to dig to find Decree No. 117/2021, but eventually I found it. I took several of the paragraphs at the beginning of the document and I ran them through Google translate…

[…]

Basically, this decree makes it the official policy of the government of Ukraine to retake Crimea from Russia.

Of course the Russians will never hand over Crimea willingly because they consider it to be Russian territory, and so Ukraine would have to take it by force.

This is essentially a declaration of war against Russia, and Zelensky would have never signed such a document without the approval of the Biden administration.

The “Mind Viruses” Creating Social Justice Warriors

Gaad Saad, a psychologist who specializes in applying evolutionary biology to the study of consumer behavior, has written a book of great value, and moreover, it is a book that required great courage to write. The book is filled with interesting ideas, and I have space here to mention only a few of them.

If science is to continue to progress, it is essential that all lines of inquiry be open. This openness ought not to give way to the demands of certain “oppressed” groups that controversial views that hurt their feelings should be banned:

Given that they are so wrong, how do the ideologues defend their idea pathogens? Under totalitarian regimes, the solution is direct. You criminalize if not violently suppress (or kill) any dissenting voices. In the West, the ideological indoctrination is subtler. It is achieved by an ethos of political correctness and best enforced by creating university campuses that lack intellectual diversity … intellectual terrorists instruct generations of gullible students to remain quiet in their classroom seats while they inculcate them with anti-science nonsense. 9 thoughts on “Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/5/2021

  1. Sabre rattling. Nothing will come of it… but it’s yet another Spectacle to divert attention from things that ARE happening.

    • What, in your estimation, are the big things happening that are covered up by this distraction?

      • Well, all those things that are not really being discussed at large. I would sum it up as all the congames. The economy cratering. The rich stealing everything not nailed down. The fact that most humans seem to be either unable or unwilling to call the bluff on covid tyranny. The lies about windturbines and solar as non-fossil fuel energies. The lies about recycling plastic. Psychopaths seemingly having occupied most positions of power, and refusing any meaningful feedback. Possibility of widespread food shortages. The state of arable soils, depletion of aquifers. Just for starters. 🙂

        • Thank you.

Some of those “problems”are solved by the Left’s own incompetence.

The idea is to get out of the way. Like out of indefensible terrain with no allies.

  2. Why Snow is so very White? -Because it is racist.
(There is 20cm new white snow in Ljubljana. In a day or two it won`t be as rasist anymore – it will become dark white.)

    • When the fun and games begin, these feminaxi’s are going to find out the rule of the jungle is the rule and the rule of the jungle is the lion eats when he wants to. The Republic is dead, long live the Republic.

  3. The medical tyranny over Covid continues to worsen. The “medical community,” such as it is, has largely abdicated its authority and its responsibility to politicians and politically biased bureaucrats. Non-physicians literally call the shots on Covid, with many in the “medical community” simply following government orders.

  4. Back to The Dark Ages for the Brits. Relentlessly jamb a giant q-tip up your nose twice a week to conquer disease.
