34 Million Fewer People Watched Biden Speech Compared to Trump’s First SOTU

34 million fewer people watched Joe Biden’s speech last night compared to Donald Trump’s first State of the Union address.

Ratings show that 11.6 million watched Biden’s speech compared to 45.6 million who watched Trump’s first address to Congress in 2018.

The lowest number of Americans who watched a Trump State of the Union throughout his term in office was 37 million.

Biden barely managed to beat the viewership for this year’s Oscars (9.8 million), even though that set a new record low for the Academy Awards

‘All Eyes on Derby’: Louisville Organizers Plan Protests for Kentucky Derby Weekend

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) — Louisville activists plan to protest Kentucky Derby 147 and hold at least one other major rally the day before.

In September 2020, protesters marched by the hundreds to Churchill Downs while a sign with the words “arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor” was flown in the sky.

Local activists, members of the NFAC militia, and social justice organization Until Freedom rallied for justice and confronted police officers stationed around the facility. That was the scene outside a delayed Kentucky Derby 146, with no fans in the stands due to COVID-19.

This year, as Churchill Downs welcomes back racing fans, local organizers said there will be police protests.

Arizona 2020 Election Audit to Move Forward, Judge Rules

A 2020 election audit in Arizona will move forward after a Democrat-appointed judge ruled in favor of Republicans on Wednesday.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Daniel Martin dismissed a temporary restraining order that stopped a state audit of more than 2 million ballots from the 2020 election.

The restraining order had been filed last Thursday, a day before the count was supposed to begin. The lawsuit alleged that legislators had promised secrecy of the ballots and voter privacy, but had outsourced the recount to an “inexperienced third party with clear bias,” according to the suit.

Biden DOJ “Actively Considering” Domestic Terrorism Law to Target White Supremacists

On Wednesday night, President Joe Biden told a Congress that “white supremacy is terrorism,” after claiming that US intelligence considers it “the most lethal terrorist threat to our homeland today.”

Hours earlier, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) set the stage for the new narrative by telling MSNBC‘s Nicol Wallace that “The predominant part of that domestic threat “ is white nationalists, adding “We can’t ignore that because of a political sensitivity that some of the folks are part of the Trump base.”

Less than 24 hours later, Bloomberg is reporting that the Biden DOJ is “actively considering” whether to seek a new law which would allow prosecutors to bring specific charges for domestic terrorists who plot and/or carry out attacks, according to a senior department official.

Cheerleader Temper Tantrum Sparks SCOTUS Free Speech Debate

Authored by Leesa K. Donner via Liberty Nation News (emphasis ours)

When 14-year-old Brandi Levy had a temper tantrum on Snapchat four years ago, little did she know she would pay for her outburst and become the poster child for off-campus free speech rights. The former high school cheerleader was punished for her online conniption by Pennsylvania’s Mahanoy Area High School, and whether school authorities had the right to discipline her has been argued on up the legal food chain to the U.S. Supreme Court. In what many are saying will likely prove to be a “momentous decision,” Levy has landed at the center of the free speech maelstrom.

On its face, the off-campus speech rights of public school students appears to be an open-and-shut case for lovers of liberty; however, Levy’s legal battle is filled with nuance and carries with it many complex contours. It all began when the cheerleader had a meltdown and threw out the F-bomb on the social media platform Snapchat. The fact that everything on Snapchat is erased within 24 hours mattered not because her outburst was noticed by school officials who used it as the reason to suspend her from the cheerleading squad.

Controversial Idaho Bill That Bans ‘Indoctrination’ of Students Passes Senate

The left has gotten hysterical again. This time, it’s over a bill currently going through the Idaho legislature that would ban schools from “indoctrinating” students. Leftists claim it bans the teaching of critical race theory. It does not. What it does is make it legal to teach all points of view.

You can imagine how that’s going over on the left.

Several earlier versions of the bill did, indeed, ban critical race theory from being taught. But the final version voted on by the Senate on Tuesday took a much more ecumenical view of teaching history.

Senate Education Chairman Steven Thayn, a Republican, said, “There’s no topic banned in the bill, there’s no book banned in the bill. It does not censor history, you can talk about anything in history. … In fact, it does not ban the teaching of critical race theory, it doesn’t ban that. It doesn’t ban anything. What it says is that you cannot compel students to adopt or adhere” to certain principles.

Critical Race Theory is About to Face Its Day(s) In Court

Authored by John Murawski via RealClearInvestigations.com

As recently as last summer, few people outside academia had heard of critical race theory, whose central claim is that racism, not liberty, is the founding value and guiding vision of American society. Then, President Trump issued an executive order last September banning the teaching of this “malign ideology” to federal employees and federal contractors.

Trump’s ban was blocked by a federal judge in December and immediately revoked by Joe Biden upon occupying the White House in January. Since then, federal agencies and federal contractors have resumed staff training on unconscious bias, microaggressions, systemic racism and white privilege — some of the most common but also most disputed concepts associated with the four-decade-old academic theory.

Now critical race theory is about to face a major real-world test: a spate of lawsuits alleging that it encourages discrimination and other illegal policies targeting whites, males and Christians. But unlike Trump’s executive order, which ran into First Amendment problems by prohibiting controversial speech, the lawsuits name specific policies and practices that allegedly discriminate, harass, blame and humiliate people based on their race.

The project aims to decrease the total population of Aedes aegypti, one of several mosquito species that can carry diseases including dengue, Zika, and yellow fever.

Oxitec Head of Regulator Affairs Dr. Nathan told Fox News that genetically altered non-biting male mosquitos would be released into the wild with the local biting female population, producing female offspring that die in the larval stage.

Parents Organizing Across US Against ‘Dangerous’ Critical Race Theory in Classrooms: Former Professor

Former professor Carol Swain told “Fox & Friends” on Thursday that parents are organizing across the U.S. against “dangerous” critical race theory in classrooms.

CAROL SWAIN: I can tell you that across the country people are pushing back. Parents are organizing, and they should be. And I would encourage whistleblowers to step forward with your information because what is taking place is very dangerous. It is creating a hostile environment for students, as well as teachers and administrators and I know from firsthand experience that if you are in an environment that feels hostile, you cannot be your best self.

And what they are doing with the critical race theory is pure indoctrination. It’s not teaching young people how to think. In fact, it’s teaching the opposite because if they have questions…and the questions are not politically correct, then they risk getting themselves into trouble.

US Investigating ‘Havana Syndrome’ Directed Energy Attack Near White House

Since 2017 controversy and speculation has abounded over the legitimacy of the so-called “Havana syndrome” story, which involved some 50 diplomatic officials working at the US Embassy in Cuba coming down with strange illnesses and symptoms — from headaches to vomiting to ‘brain trauma’ — which was blamed on high tech covert ‘sonic attacks’ by nefarious actors. Officials were quick to blame either Russian intelligence or Cuban operatives in what sounded like a wild James Bond style bit of futuristic espionage.

Last week the allegations returned to national media spotlight after defense officials said they believe Russia is likely behind “directed energy” attacks on US troops in northeast Syria. Apparently some US troops occupying the country began reporting “flu-like symptoms” which caused the DoD to investigate possible linkage to microwave or directed energy weapons on the battlefield of Syria. Politico reported that “officials identified Russia as a likely culprit, according to two people with direct knowledge of the matter.”

And now CNN is reporting what is perhaps the most bizarre and outlandish instance of this yet — a ‘sonic attack’ which sickened a top administration official while standing just outside White House grounds.

YouTube’s so-called authoritative sources are pre-selected mainstream media outlets that are 10x more likely to top search results for some newsworthy events, 14x more likely to be recommended on election-related content, and 20x more likely to top coronavirus search results.

Once a source has been deemed to be authoritative by YouTube, it gets heavily boosted, regardless of its view count, its engagement levels, or the responses to the video.

France: Paris Prosecutors Open Manslaughter Probe Into Deaths Following AstraZeneca Vaccines

Paris prosecutors are taking on and combining into a involuntary manslaughter probe three separate investigations over deaths of three people who were given the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine in France, they said on Wednesday.

Prosecutors specialised in leading complex investigations into health products will take on the preliminary probes already opened after complaints were filed in Toulouse, Paris and Nantes.

In Nantes, a medical student aged 26 died suddenly of a blood clot on March 18th just a few days after getting vaccinated with the AstraZeneca jab. The case from Toulouse concerns a social worker aged 38 who also died of a blood clot after her health deteriorated sharply after getting the jab.

Boittin (the Lawyer) said he was handling fifteen cases of people who died in France after having been vaccinated with AstraZeneca, the vast majority of them aged “under 60 years”.

Hungary Abolishes Income Tax for Young People Under 25 Years Old

The Hungarian Parliament approved on Wednesday the income tax exemption for all Hungarian employees under 25 years old, seen as a new pillar in the conservative government’s pro-family policies, Minister for Family Affairs Katalin Novak announced on her Facebook page.

“We support the start of life for young people. We have now passed a bill in Parliament to allow tax exemptions for young people under the age of 25,” Novak wrote.

The Hungarian government promised the tax exemption back in January, and at the time, Finance Minister Mihaly Varga, said it would cost the budget about 100 billion forints (€277 million) in lost tax revenue but that the social impact of the exemption is a much more pertinent consideration.

“I say again, tax revenue is a small aspect of this, an important aspect of course, but only a small aspect, since the long-term goal is for a young person to feel connected to their own country, find their place here, in this economy, and hopefully have children,” said Varga.

Islamic Scholar: European Women Used to Wear Hijab, But Then Jews Spread Darwinism and ‘Culture of Nudity’

Qur’an 5:59-60: “Say: ‘People of the Book, do you blame us for any other cause than that we believe in Allah, and what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down before, and that most of you are ungodly?’ Say: ‘Shall I tell you of a recompense with Allah, worse than that? Whoever Allah has cursed, and with whom He is angry, and made some of them apes and swine, and worshippers of idols — they are worse situated, and have gone further astray from the right way.’“

Qur’an 7:166: “And when they turned in disdain from that forbidding We said to them, ‘Be you apes, miserably slinking!’“

NGO Influence at EU Court of Human Rights is Under Investigation

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has announced an investigation into the independence of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in Strasbourg. Although the body of the document released this April does not directly acknowledge the existence of a deficit in impartiality, its title is very telling as far as the gravity of the allegations directed against the court. The reply to written questions from the Parliamentary Assembly is entitled “How to remedy potential conflicts of interest of judges at the European Court of Human Rights? Restoring the integrity of the European Court of Human Rights. The systemic problem of conflicts of interests between NGOs and judges of the European Court of Human Rights.”

Although complaints about the ECHR’s alleged political bias and collusion with far-left NGOs has often been dismissed or ignored in the past, a damning report by the European Centre for Law and Justice may have finally prompted parliamentarians to demand an investigation. The report published in 2020 had found several facts that could call the ECHR’s independence into questions.

“This report shows that at least 22 of the 100 permanent judges who have served on the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) between 2009 and 2019 are former officials or collaborators of seven NGOs that are highly active before the Court. Twelve judges are linked to the Open Society Foundation (OSF) network, seven to the Helsinki committees, five to the International Commission of Jurists, three to Amnesty International, and one each to Human Rights Watch, Interights and the A.I.R.E. Centre. The Open Society network is distinguished by the number of judges linked to it and by the fact that it funds the other six organizations mentioned in this report.”

Paris Mayor Says She Agrees With Military Chiefs Who Threatened to Seize Control of the Country and Warned of the ‘Disintegration’ Of France — as 18 of the Officers Are Fired

A Paris mayor has backed military chiefs who threatened to seize control of the country to fight radical Islam and prevent the ‘disintegration’ of France.

Eighteen serving officers who were among the hundreds of retired soldiers who signed the open letter to Emmanuel Macron are to be fired, the country’s armed forces chief confirmed today.

But despite widespread condemnation, politicians on the right like Rachida Dati, mayor of the 7th arrondissement, continue to throw their support behind the signatories, who included 20 retired generals.

‘What is written in this letter is a reality,’ Ms Dati told France Info radio today. ‘When you have a country plagued by urban guerrilla warfare, when you have a constant and high terrorist threat, when you have increasingly glaring and flagrant inequalities … we cannot say that the country is doing well.’

The National Republican Guard closed three parties in January, eight in February, seven in March and six in April.

In a response sent to Lusa, the PSP states that these 93 parties did not comply with the health rules in force under the state of emergency, in which gatherings and agglomerations of people are prohibited.

UK: Watch: Christian Pastor Arrested in London for Quoting ‘Homophobic’ Bible Verses

Police in London arrested a Christian street preacher for allegedly causing “alarm and distress” to pedestrians for citing allegedly “homophobic” verses from Genesis.

On Friday, Pastor John Sherwood was preaching alongside Pastor Peter Simpson of the Penn Free Methodist Church outside the Uxbridge Underground Station — in Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s own constituency.

Writing in the Conservative Woman on Tuesday, Pastor Simpson said that Sherwood preached on the final verses of Genisis 1, saying: “God’s design in creating mankind was to set human beings in families, headed by a father and a mother, not by two fathers or by two mothers. The distinction within mankind of just two genders, male and female, made in the image of God, constitutes the essence of God’s created order.”

Simpson said that the police informed them that three complaints were made in response to the street sermon.

He said that a police officer warned that he and Sherwood should avoid making any “homophobic statements” and that there is “no freedom to make statements which offend people”.

The police ultimately dragged Sherwood off his step stool and forcibly handcuffed the septuagenarian preacher.

“This dignified man of God, who is in his early 70s, was marched off to a nearby police car, as one of the helpers from my church cried out, ‘What has happened to us as a nation that a man can no longer preach from the Bible?” Pastor Simpson related.

Video of the incident was published on social media on Tuesday by the charity Christian Concern…

Yale Sociology Prof Says Christian Homeschooling is ‘Vector of White Christian Nationalism’

A Yale University professor claimed that Christian homeschooling is often “a major vector of White Christian Nationalism.”

Philip Gorski — who teaches sociology — wrote the critique on Twitter after retweeting an advertisement for a Christian school from 1975.

The advertisement emphasized that the school had “no hippies,” as children were expected to maintain “neatness of appearance, proper length of hair for boys, and right attitudes toward elders.” Students were also taught about the “sacredness of hard work.”

The school also boasted that students were “taught to love America” and that patriotism is “a part of our program.”

10 thoughts on “Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/29/2021

  1. “Meanwhile, recent reports suggest that New York City lost $1.2 billion in tax revenues because of the collapse of the tourism industry after the “pandemic” hit.” What BUNK! NYC has lost 100 billion in economic damage from the useless and insane Covid lock down.

  2. in practice

When the FDA grants emergency use authorization for a vaccine, many questions about the product cannot be answered. Given the open questions, when Congress granted the authority to issue EUAs, it chose to require that every individual should be allowed to decide for himself or herself whether or not to receive an EUA product. The FDA and CDC apparently consider this fundamental requirement of choice important enough that even during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic they reinforced that policy decision when issuing their guidance related to the Covid-19 vaccines.

This means that an organization will likely be at odds with federal law if it requires its employees, students or other members to get a Covid-19 vaccine that is being distributed under emergency use authorization.

State law often prohibits retaliating against an employee for refusing to participate in a violation of federal law. Organizations that require Covid-19 vaccination in violation of federal law may face lawsuits under these state laws not only to block the policy but also for damages and attorneys’ fees. Such potentially costly lawsuits can be avoided by refraining from adopting policies that require vaccination or penalize members for choosing not to be vaccinated.

Organizations are free to encourage vaccinations through internal communications, through educational events, and through other measures to urge employees to be vaccinated. They can take these measures so long as: (1) they are not viewed as coercive, (2) the organization makes clear the decision regarding whether to receive the vaccine is voluntary, and (3) the measures comply with the requirements in the EUAs and the related regulations for these products.

now everyday life… things like going to a concert, shopping, watching live sports…. are considered perks of a obedience.
When your government starts saying things like “Be obedient and you’ll get perks like getting to go to concerts,” that’s when you need to start seriously speaking up. Freedom isn’t an optional perk.

    • I am amazed that guntab is located in a very liberal city…Austin, Texas.

  3. Regarding news about Oxitec’s genetically modified mosquitoes: Ask who owns Oxitec? The Gates Foundation does and using genetic modifications to cause sterile insects. Does this remind any of the Gates polio shot scandal in Africa and India? Starting to sound familiar? Rather like the side effects of current wuhanvirus shots?

This man is pure evil — researching and pushing ways to destroy life.

If you are a God believer, please continue praying for humanity to repent and return.

    • Sterile mosquitoes are a good idea, if this reduces the spread of (presumably) malaria in humans.

I don’t know about the polio shot “scandal”, but I do know that the disease would have been eliminated years ago, like smallpox, but for the imams in Nigeria, Pakistan etc preaching that polio vaccination was a Western plot to sterilise Muslim children. How about attacking the real enemy (especially on this site)?

      • The enemy is islam/3 rd worlders and the left that have allowed this plague and pestilence into our western countries in the first place, I could care less when 3rd worlders slaughter each other in droves, it is in their nature to do so.
