The family of a North Carolina man shot and killed by sheriff’s deputies said Monday that they were shown just 20 seconds of body-camera video that appeared to show the man with his hands on the steering wheel of his car before he was killed.
Loved ones of Andrew Brown Jr., 42, expected to be shown the bodycam video just before noon Monday, but the viewing was pushed back several hours because of redactions sought by the county attorney, family attorneys said.
But even in 20 seconds of video, Brown’s loved ones said, it was clear that he wasn’t a threat to law enforcement and shouldn’t have been gunned down.

Census: TX Gains 2 House Seats, CA, NY Lose One as US Political Map is Redrawn
The first set of results from the 2020 census are in, and reveal that the red state of Texas is set to gain two House seats, while California and New York will each lose one. This will bring the red state of Texas to a total of 38 seats and 40 electoral college votes — the 2nd highest behind

Family of Virginia Police Shooting Victim Isaiah Brown Demands More Info
Doctors were able to remove two bullets from Isaiah Brown’s body; eight remain, the family’s lawyer says
The family of a man who was shot multiple times and wounded last week by a sheriff’s deputy in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, addressed the public Monday and asked for officials to release more information.
Isaiah Brown’s family and their lawyer demanded the release of communication between a 911 dispatcher and the deputy who shot him early Wednesday. Attorney David Haynes, says Brown, 32, had a landline house phone in his hand that the deputy mistook for a gun.
“He made it totally clear that he did not have a weapon, that he did not have a gun,” Haynes said at a news conference, describing a “failure of communication” between 911 dispatch and the deputies who responded to Brown’s home on West Catharpin Road.
Brown was hospitalized after being shot “at least” 10 times, Haynes said. He was in intensive care at a hospital in Fredericksburg. Doctors were able to remove two bullets from his body; eight remain.

Health experts are insisting that the CDC should implement permanent mask mandates even after the COVID-19 pandemic ends.

Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe filed yet another defamation lawsuit, this time against CNN after an anchor made a false claim about his news outlet’s permanent suspension from Twitter.
O’Keefe announced on Monday that he filed the suit in Georgia, where CNN’s world headquarters is located, over on-air comments made by CNN anchor Ana Cabrera while reporting back in February on Twitter’s crackdown to “try to stop the spread of misinformation” and “for example” mentioned the suspension of Project Veritas, which was actually punished by the tech giant over alleged policy violation involving the sharing of private information.
However, O’Keefe is arguing that he can prove malice on the part of Cabrera by pointing two a pair of tweets she made three days prior quoting a Twitter spokesperson who cited the private information policy that resulted in the permanent ban of Project Veritas’ account. He also pointed to a report from CNN.com that also correctly cited the apparent policy violation.

Reddit users have been reporting to Reclaim The Net that the social media site is censoring alternative video platform Rumble in private messages.

The US Supreme Court, which hasn’t issued a major gun-rights decision in over a decade, has agreed to review a New York case to decide whether the government must allow most residents to carry a handgun in public.
The appeal is from a New York gun-rights group and two individuals who say the state is violating their 2nd Amendment rights by only issuing concealed-carry licenses to those who can show a special need for protection, according to Bloomberg. Supreme Court Hears Arguments Over Whether Nonprofits Must Reveal Donors
The Supreme Court on Monday heard oral arguments in a case over the constitutionality of a California law requiring charities and nonprofit organizations to disclose their top donors to the state attorney general’s office.

HILADELPHIA — Acting United States Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams announced that Cushmir McBride, 21, of Yeadon, PA, Kamar Thompson, 34, of Philadelphia, PA, and Nasser McFall, 22, of Claymont, DE, were charged by Indictment for their alleged involvement in four separate incidents in Fall 2020: the robberies of a Target and a Wawa, and attempts to rob two different Wawas, all with multiple explosive devices. McFall is also charged with setting off an explosive device at a bank in Philadelphia later that year. McBride and McFall were previously arrested and charged by Complaint, and Thompson is in federal custody facing charges in a separate case involving the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Each defendant is expected to be arraigned on these new charges next week.

The city of Hamilton in Canada posted a tweet offering the COVID-19 vaccine to “black and other racialized populations” over the age of 18, prompting questions as to whether this was discriminatory.

An interim injunction which would have required nine Canadians to isolate in government-controlled hotels was denied by a federal court on Monday.
The nine people in question, despite having tested negative for COVID, would have had to stay in a hotel as directed by government officials. They would have had to remain locked in their hotel rooms for a total of at least three days, and would have been sent a bill for at least $2,000 for expenses.
According to a statement released by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, the court involved in striking the injunction down is not the same court that issued it in the first place.
The ruling found that this type of forced confinement possibly contravenes Sections Seven and Nine of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and therefore, the issue needs to be resolved by trial.

GraceLife Congregation Meets in Secret for Third Week in a Row After Seizure of Church Property
The GraceLife Church congregation met in secret for the third consecutive Sunday since provincial health authorities seized the church building and land, west of Edmonton city limits.
The Alberta government locked up their pastor, confiscated their church and forced them into hiding, but the faithful members of GraceLife Church are still holding underground services in undisclosed locations each weekend to avoid law enforcement.
The church property was fenced off by RCMP and Alberta Health Services using a private fencing contractor at dawn on April 7. Reinstated: Rally Held for Cop Who Supported Locked Down Gym

UK: ‘Trespassers’ At Overnight Extinction Rebellion Protest ‘Stopped Lorry Drivers Getting Home’
Three people are on trial following an Extinction Rebellion protest at a Knowsley newspaper printing press.
A blue van and a yellow boat blocked the entrance to Newsprinters overnight on September 4 last year, preventing the sale of over a half a million national papers, a court heard.
An organiser for Extinction Rebellion told the ECHO at the time they were demonstrating because of concerns about coverage of environmental issues and the “manipulation of the truth” by certain corporations.
Their actions delayed the sales of papers including The Times, The S*n, The Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mail, which are owned by News Corp UK, operated by Rupert Murdoch.
Katie Anne Ritchie-Moulin, Harrison Radcliffe and Luca Vitale are charged with aggravated trespassing at Newsprinters in Knowsley, which is described as a “wholly owned subsidiary by News Corp UK” on its website.
It is alleged the three stood on the top of a blue van, which, along with a yellow boat, blocked the entrance to the printing press on Kitling Road.
Ritchie-Moulin, 22, Radcliffe, 21, and Vitale, 22, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court today before District Judge Paul Healey.

UK: Extinction Rebellion Activists Stage Trespass at Newark Priory in Ripley
Extinction Rebellion activists have taken part in a trespass at Newark Priory in Ripley.
Campaigners from Woking and Elmbridge took part in the event to mark the 89th anniversary of a mass trespass in Derbyshire in 1932 carried out to show that walkers in England and Wales were being denied access to areas of open country.
Activists say they today, Monday, April 26 chose Newark Priory, a Grade 1-listed monument, because it is an important part of the heritage of our county and country.

Russia’s Regulator Slams YouTube Censorship
Russia isn’t exactly known for its support of free expression but it wants its censorship power to lie completely with the government, not YouTube.
Russia’s media watchdog has accused YouTube of violating freedom of the press by censoring Russian media channels.
In a press release published Saturday, Roskomnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media) accused YouTube of unfairly censoring Russian media content. According to the media watchdog, last year, YouTube restricted access to Russian-based media accounts nine times and censored the content of those accounts three times. This year alone, YouTube has censored Russia-based media content five times and suspended three accounts.

Chloe Zhao’s Best Director Oscar Win Censored in China
The Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao’s award speech was to be live-streamed by an alumnus of her alma mater, only to run into the Great Firewall of China.
The organizer could not access his VPN for about two hours, as a result of which Zhao’s award ceremony had to be missed by the attendants of the live streaming session in Shanghai.
While born and raised in China for the better part of her childhood, Zhao’s parents sent her away to England, followed by the US for pursuing further education. She did her MFA at New York University.

Facebook Bans Australian Anti-Lockdown Lawmaker Craig Kelly
Independent Australian politician and member for the Division of Hughes in the Australian House of Representatives, Craig Kelly, is banned from the Big Tech social media platform, Facebook, on grounds of sharing COVID-19 “misinformation.”
Kelly was banned temporarily back in February. But despite repeated warnings from Facebook, the Australian MP ended up making claims that go against the rule of the World Health Organization and the CDC, something Facebook notoriously forbids.

African Sex Predator Targets Another Woman After Early Release From Swedish Prison
An African migrant has been convicted of making unwanted sexual advances towards a female victim in Sweden just days after he was prematurely released from prison for a violent attempted rape, according to reports.
The sex predator, a Tanzanian national in his 20s, was initially incarcerated for attacking a woman at her home in the culturally-enriched city of Gothenburg.
“[He] followed a young woman who was on her way home from a nightclub in Gothenburg. When she returned home, he broke into her apartment and tried to rape her,” Fria Tider reports.

Americans Believe Border Security is Worse Than 2 Years Ago by a 3-to-1 Ratio
Nearly half of Americans believe that border security is worse now than it was in two years ago, more than three times the number of those who believe it is better, according to a Fox News poll.
The poll compared responses for April 2021 to a similar poll taken in June 2018 that asked Americans if they thought border security was better, worse, or the same as two years prior.

FSB Uncovers 5 Underground Printing Houses in Moscow for Forging Migrants’ Documents
MOSCOW, April 26. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has apprehended a criminal group engaged in legalizing foreigners in Russia and uncovered five underground printing houses for making documents for them, the FSB press office told TASS on Monday.
“The personnel of the FSB’s border control group at Domodedovo international airport and the Investigative Committee’s Moscow Main Investigative Department with the law enforcement support of the National Guard foiled the activity of an organized criminal group engaged in legalizing foreign citizens on Russian territory. Five underground printing houses were uncovered on the territory of Moscow and the Moscow Region,” the FSB press office said.
The FSB operatives seized over 50 seals and stamps of state and commercial organizations and healthcare institutions, more than 2,500 blank forms of passports, driver licenses, migration cards and patents for labor activity and other documents, the FSB said.

Germany: Muslim Migrant Who Stabbed Gay Couple Has No Regrets, Court Hears
A Syrian Muslim migrant who attacked a homosexual couple with knives, killing one, has no regrets, a German court has heard.
Abdullah al HH, as the migrant is referred to in the press, wanted “to live according to the strict interpretation of the Qur’an” and turned to the Islamic State, a psychologist told the Dresden Higher Regional Court, according to a Der Spiegel court report.

AN HGV driver who bought a stun gun for his protection after being attacked by illegal migrants in France was today jailed for 18 months.
The High Court in Glasgow heard that Graeme McMurray, 40, from Denny, bought the weapon for £15 on the internet and received a free pepper spray with his purchase.
The items were found during a routine search of his lorry at the P&O Ferry Terminal in Cairnryan when he was en route to Belfast, Northern Ireland, on November 5, 2019.
In court, McMurray admitted possessing the stun gun and the pepper spray illegally.
Prosecutor Bill McVicar said: “He stated that nobody else had access to the items and that he bought them for personal protection having been attacked by migrants in Boulogne, France, in 2018 when his arm was broken.”

Twitch is notorious for banning streamers and imposing bizarre rules out of the blue. What we have now is something close to that. A gamer has now been temporarily suspended for playing a video clip of a game from the past where an opponent player uttered a homophobic slur.
Disguised Toast is a Facebook Gaming Partner who occasionally streams on Twitch to reconnect with his followers. This time, Wang was hanging out in the Just Chatting area of Twitch and watching an old PUBG clip. Almost 40,000 viewers were attending his stream of the past PUBG montage wherein the term “fag” was uttered by a random opponent player.
