Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/12/2021

A policewoman in Brooklyn Center, a suburb of Minneapolis, shot a young black man named Daunte Wright to death during a traffic stop. Based on bodycam footage and the assessment of the police chief, the officer discharged her service weapon by mistake, having intended to use her taser. Last night demonstrators took to the streets in Minneapolis, New York and other cities to protest the death of Daunte Wright. Protests in Brooklyn Center and Minneapolis turned into looting, and several stores were destroyed.

In other news, demonstrations in Montreal against the coronavirus lockdown turned into riots as protesters lit fires and broke store windows.

Biden Calls for ‘Peaceful Protest’ Following Police Shooting of Black Man in Minneapolis Suburb

Update (1520ET): President Biden weighed in on Monday to the shooting death of a black man in a Minneapolis suburb, after the police chief said he believed the officer involved accidentally used a gun instead of a taser.

“I think we’ve got to wait and see what the investigation shows. The entire investigation. You’ve all watched, I assume as I did, the… body cam, which is fairly graphic,” said Biden, adding: “The question is: Was it an accident, was it intentional? That remains to be determined by a full blown investigation.”

“But in the meantime, I want to make it clear again: There is absolutely no justification, none, for looting. No justification for violence; peaceful protest is understandable,” he said.

Brooklyn Center Police Release Video of Daunte Wright Shooting

Brooklyn Center’s police chief said Monday that he believes the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old Black man during a traffic stop was the result of an officer accidentally discharging her firearm.

Gov. Tim Walz is holding a press conference after Police Chief Tim Gannon released body camera footage of the fatal shooting of Daunte Wright during a traffic stop Sunday. Gannon said he believes the officer who shot Wright meant to fire a Taser, not her handgun.

Gannon also confirmed that the officer is on administrative leave.

Officers conducted a traffic stop before 2 p.m. Sunday in an attempt to take Wright into custody for an outstanding warrant, police said. During the stop, Wright got back into his car, and one of the officers fired their gun and struck the victim, according to law enforcement.

According to a press release from the Brooklyn Center Police Department, the vehicle then traveled “several blocks” before colliding with another vehicle.

In the body camera footage, an officer can be heard immediately telling the other officers at the scene, “I just shot him…

CPD Preparing for Demonstrations After Release of Toledo Shooting Video, Chauvin Verdict

That would be monumental, considering the two devastating rounds of looting last summer that started in downtown, River North and Lincoln Park and spread to commercial corridors on the South and West sides.

DeSantis Blasts YouTube Censorship

Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis accused YouTube of censorship for removing a video posted last month that discussed coronavirus measures that contradict the WHO’s guidelines. YouTube removed the video for violating its policies on COVID-19 misinformation.

DeSantis made the accusation during an event held on Monday, which focused on social media and the mainstream media’s silencing of alternative solutions to the pandemic. For example, they’re silencing the idea that children should not wear masks. It does not seem like there is a consensus on mask-wearing in children. The WHO does not recommend it for kids below the age of 12, while the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says masks can be worn by kids above the age of 2.

Senator Josh Hawley Wants to Make it Harder for Big Tech to Acquire Smaller Tech Companies

A new proposal by Sen. Josh Hawley may make it almost impossible for Big Tech giants to acquire companies and the existing legacy antitrust laws will also be made more stringent.

“Trust-Busting for the Twenty-First Century Act” by Sen. Hawley (we obtained a copy for you here) would essentially:

Ban any merger or acquisitions done by firms that have a market cap that exceeds $100 billion.

Lower the threshold for prosecution by making changes to the existing antitrust laws. “The protection of competition” will take the front seat and will replace the “consumer harm” standard which long dictated the federal antitrust laws for the basis of prosecution.

Make companies that lose federal antitrust lawsuits do away with all the profits that come from their “monopolistic conduct.”

Allow FTC to regulate “dominant digital firms” in online markets.

Former Israel Defense Forces Chief of Military Intelligence Amos Yadlin said that he was concerned about Iran’s nuclear program, explaining that if the facility’s backup power systems were hit by the cyberattack, it could take months for Iran to recover.

YouTube Suspends Indian News Outlet That Covered Workers’ Protests Over Lockdowns

YouTube has banned the channel of Millat Times, an Indian news website, for posting a video showing workers protesting lockdown in the state of Maharashtra. YouTube said that the video violated its COVID-19 misinformation policy.

On April 9, Millat Times uploaded a video titled “People Continue Protest Against Lockdown, Gherai CM’s House.” The post showed clips of people protesting the newly enforced lockdown in Maharashtra outside the state’s Chief Minister’s residence.

On the same day, YouTube removed the video, citing violations of its Community Guidelines, specifically the policy on medical misinformation.

VICE Deletes Story That Used Manipulated Images to Make Victims of Communist Cambodian Genocide Appear Happy

An artist took the liberty to add smiles on the faces of prisoners in the notorious Tuol Sleng prison for a piece that was published for VICE.

The piece has since been deleted after suggestions the artist was trying to rewrite history and hide the atrocities of the 1970s Communist Party within Cambodia — known as The Khmer Rouge.

Matt Loughrey, for a profile piece on VICE, colorized the images of several photos of Tuol Sleng prisoners, taken from the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Back in the 1970s, at least 12 thousand people were tortured and murdered in the Tuol Sleng prison.

Convicted Police Killer Allowed to Return to Germany, Leaving Berlin Police Furious

The Berlin police have made serious allegations against the capital’s immigration authorities for allowing the re-entry of 51-year-old Lebanese Yassin A., who was convicted of murdering a Berlin police officer in 2003.

“That really upsets us. This is not an isolated incident. The Berlin Naturalization Office is really advertising for the quick lifting of the re-entry ban,” a high-ranking official said anonymously to the Bild newspaper.

The Lebanese man, who already had multiple criminal offenses on his record, killed an officer of the German police’s intervention unit (SEK) after shooting him in the head during a police operation. For this crime, Yassin A. was imprisoned for a total of 15 years until 2019.

Biden Administration Denies Feminist Group’s Petition to Define Title IX by Biological Sex

The Biden administration has refused a request by prominent feminist group Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF) for Title IX policy to be enforced on the basis of biological sex.

Passed in 1972, Title IX is a civil rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in institutions that receive federal funds. The policy seeks to provide women with equal opportunities in sports and academics.

WoLF submitted the request over concerns with President Biden’s March 8 executive order that eliminates single-sex sports by allowing transgender athletes to compete in the gender of their choice. WoLF argues that allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports will erase the protections of Title IX.

Libertarian Sci-Fi Author Predicted Current Progressive-Induced Cultural Failures Over 60 Years Ago

Way back in 1959 legendary science fiction author and political libertarian Robert Heinlein was quite clairvoyant in predicting the demise of our culture due to misguided progressive policies and beliefs.

You may have seen the popular film Starship Troopers, but unfortunately director Paul Verhoeven virtually completely ignored the very foundation of the novel, not to mention much of its discussion of politics and history.

The society which Heinlein imagines in the book came about due to processes we see happening today: politicians who couldn’t care less about their constituents while enriching themselves, who use the military as cannon fodder for every conceivable non-military purpose, and a party which claims to care about “science” all the while relying on preposterous theories … the results of which have made society more dangerous.

    • Listen closely. David Icke is a scam artist who made the claim that the royal family were lizards and that lizards were taking over the world. Then he made the claim during his ‘turquoise period’ that he was the Messiah return to earth. HE also iterviewed a cannibal named Credo Mutwe who claimed that machines were under the earth grinding away to control the earth. David Icke for many years has made preposterous claims and just because he made this one does not prove that he had insight into the coronovirus. If I were you I would steer clear from this con artist. he is a phoney through and through

  1. But was she woke enough to tell the difference between a taser and a weapon?
Stay tuned for an update from the poor downtrodden victims of the white male capitalist pig patriarchy on a $1000 cellphone with the latest $300 Nike sneaker undocumented reparations.
Good job faculty lounge fifth column but don’t fire up the bong with the burn it all down flames just yet because the Frankenstein monster will eventually come for you.

    • She did humanity a favor by tasing the perp with her service weapon. The backstory of the perp indicates that what really cost him his useless life was lax and overly lenient Minnesota judicial system which had him running the streets instead of safely ensconced in a jail cell for previous violent crimes.

Granted, the same social engineering policies that had Mr Dindu running the streets were the same woke stupidity that resulted in the female being allowed to become a cop. As for looting and burning Apple and Nike stores, well one reaps what one sows.

  2. Woman cop used her revolver during a traffic stop? Guess these way overpaid LGBTQ cops will be blasting anybody who disobeys the VAX passport rules too.

    • Just FYI The cop pulled out her pistol thinking it was her taser and pulled the trigger after saying she would tase him and yelling “taser taser taser.”
Her taser was on the other hip.

    • Sorry, but a revolver could never be mistaken for a semi-auto Glock the officer was carrying, in fact most police do not carry revolvers and haven’t since the 80’s.LOL

  3. Burn it all down Biden is just a puppet of the global Soviet controllers who will use COVID to bring in the neo-feudal serf plantation.
Another fifth column fellow traveler who is under orders to turn the Long March into the short sprint.
What has caused them to drop the centuries long plan and put the pedal to the metal?
Anyone who still believes anything coming out of the sewer pipe of enemedia, gov, edu, pharma, Big Med, is probably too stupid to exist.

  4. Of my 42 years running amuck the planet having rare interactions with police the most danger I’ve ever been in of my life is meeting an American cop. And yes I am quite armed and 2x when cop discovered then out shucked gun with screaming. Why? Demand of instant obedience to conflicting orders. GET OUT OF TRUCK! DON’T MOVE! PUT YOUR HANDS OUTSIDE! DON’T F***ING MOVE! Why? Why do American police act like such tyrants? Because they are trained to. It is expected. Use of deadly force only inches away from their hand. In a confrontation police will say “what I do is to protect me” and I have several times answered “I care nothing for your safety as you are the one pointing a gun not me”.

  5. Some police officers are so obviously absolutely stressed out that they should not be on duty. Nowhere near weaponry. Maybe Apple could come up with a ‘stop now’ and return to base app?

  6. The comrades are restless in the golden equality of results for all utopia.
Don’t they know about living in Shangri-La?
Too busy drooling over telescreens to see the control Matrix grid going up around them?
Stand six feet apart on the X, put your face panty on, this way to the slaughter pen.
Get your vaccine, comrade, none are safe until all are safe.
Egalitarianism and evolved enlightened beings will build Babel back better.
Forward! Yes we can, Si se puede!

  7. LGBT has nothing to do with this incident. I really feel for her. She’s a good cop. and that dirtbag n****r has a rap sheet. One less dindu on the streets.
