ADP Employment Rebounds in January After December Drop

Following December’s disastrous 123k drop (with both goods and services losing jobs), analysts expected a modest 70k rise in ADP employment in January, but were pleasantly surprised by a +174k print (which however needs to be put in the context of December’s upward revision to only a 78k drop).

Czech Economy Experienced a Record Slump Last Year

Last year, the Czech economy dropped the most since the establishment of the independent Czech Republic. Gross domestic product fell by 5.6 percent year-over-year, the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO) stated. However, economists were expecting an even sharper economic downturn; the European Union’s economy dropped even more, by 6.4 percent.

In the fourth quarter alone, the economy contracted by 5 percent year-over-year but grew by 0.3 percent versus the previous quarter. The downturn occurred mainly due to weakened household consumption and a drop in foreign demand in the first half of the year.

Guess Which Side the Corporate Media is Taking in the GameStop Story…

Authored by Michael Snyder via TheMostImportantNews.com

You would think that a plucky group of Internet rebels standing up to a bunch of notorious hedge funds and short sellers would be a story that even the mainstream media should be able to get right, but apparently that is not the case. As you will see below, the corporate-controlled media is attempting to convince all of us that the hedge funds and the short sellers are actually “the good guys” and that the “Reddit army” that is taking them on is a bunch of dangerous insurrectionists that are a threat to the entire system. Of course I suppose that it shouldn’t be a surprise that the corporate-controlled media is standing up for the establishment, because the establishment showers them with millions of advertising dollars. But it really has been disgusting to watch them totally sell out like this.

Reddit Trader DeepFuc*ingValue Loses $19 Million in Two Days as He Holds on to GameStop Stock

Earlier this week, one of the most notorious and popular WallStreetBets traders, best known by his alias Deep ingValue, by his YouTube username Roaring Kitty, and perhaps best known as the mastermind behind the Gamestop short squeeze, revealed himself to the world in concurrent articles from both Reuters and the WSJ (where he was also interviewed). His real name: Keith Patrick Gill, CFA, a title which the 34-year-old used while working in marketing for Mass Mutual, which he joined in 2019. The title then became worthless to Gill after he recently quit the life insurer to focus on just one thing: trading and spreading the gospel about Gamestop stock out of a basement of the home he rents in Wilmington, Mass… and boy was he successful.

Robinhood App Plunges Back to One-Star Amid GME Debacle

As of 0900 ET, the Robinhood app on the Google Play Store has a one-star rating with over 313k reviews.

SEC to Crawl Through Social Media, Hunting for GameStop Manipulation Fraud

Remember when Harry Markopolos warned the SEC — repeatedly — that Bernie Madoff was running a giant ponzi scheme… and the SEC did absolutely nothing, eventually leading to the biggest fund fraud in modern history, with countless investors losing billions?

Well, after the recent reddit revolution sent a handful of highly shorted stocks soaring and blew up a couple of hedge funds while making other hedge funds much richer, the SEC has decided that this time it will be proactive in cracking down on fraud and according to Bloomberg SEC investigators are now “combing social media and message board posts for signs that fraud played a role in dizzying stock swings for GameStop Corp., AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. and other companies.”

Yellen Gets Ethics Waiver to Lead Regulator Meeting on GameStop Insanity After Taking $810k From Citadel

Once it became clear — just a few seconds after AOC first rage-tweeted about RobinHood refusing to let “the people” trade more shares of $GME and $AMC before adding that she’d support a public hearing on what had just happened — that all the key players in the “WallStreetBets”/”Gamestop”trading saga would soon be dragged in front of Congress like a gaggle of tech CEOs, the newly elected Democrats and their hand-picked economic team were faced with a critical question: who exactly was going to preside over these proceedings on the regulatory side, since they are virtually all compromised by key connections to the financial services industry, and not just the big banks.

Over the past decade, a new category of financial beast has arisen. At Zero Hedge, we have been writing about them for years. They’re alternatively called “high frequency traders” “high freaks”, and “orderflow frontrunners” for those enjoy speaking the truth, or “market makers” for the political correct, but after the events of last week, millions of people were either asking Google, or their one IBD analyst friend, to explain what ‘Citadel’ is, and how it works… the same Citadel which threatened to sue Zero Hedge last June for accusing it of frontrunning orders, just weeks before regulators punished Citadel for frontrunning orders (oops).

Now, barely days after being confirmed as President Joe Biden’s new Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen must preside over a major media circus and the most glaring indication yet of just how broken the US stock market is (thanks in large part to her actions while she was head of the Fed).

According to US Government Documents, Most Americans Are “Domestic Terrorists”

“Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.” —President Harry Truman

Oxford’s Original English Dictionary defines “terrorism” as “Government by intimidation.”

Here is a list of 72 definitions of what this government has defined as a domestic terrorist.

AOC Responds to RedState Story About Her Not Being in Capitol Building — With More Manipulation

Well, it looks like I apparently got under the skin of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) with my earlier article pointing out after her Instagram account of her “near death experience” on Jan. 6 at the Capitol that she wasn’t actually in the Capitol building when it all went down.

She was actually in her office in the nearby Cannon House Office building, a nearby building, but not the same building where the swarming and breaching was happening.

AOC got upset because I pointed out that simple fact. Why does she find that fact problematic? The story and her reaction caused a Twitter trending topic “Alexandria Ocasio Smollett,” which my colleague Sister Toldjah covered here.

AOC did multiple tweets in response to my story so I’ll walk through them and point out how she’s being manipulative.

Citizen Trump

by Diana West

This engraving depicts the 1793 trial of Citizen Louis Capet. He had been stripped of his title, King Louis XVI, by those who presumed to judge him. The image, the event, seems relevant on contemplating the looming impeachment trial of Citizen Trump. After the failure of Congress to pause the counting of Electoral votes to permit due process in the contested states, we may see that President Trump was also stripped of his title by those who now presume to judge him.

Louis’ trial ended infamously in regicide by guillotine. However much baying there is for Trump’s head, such a remedy lies beyond Senate recourse. On conviction of impeachment, the sentence is removal from office. Donald Trump may have won re-election, but he has no office. Such a sentence, then, would seem to be an exercise in futility, only revolutionaries don’t have time for futlity.

There are two forms of regicide, according to research by Meagan Montanari, author of an interesting essay titled “The Good King: Louis XVI as a Religious Figure and Martyr.”

She writes:…

Fact Checkers Worry Twitter’s New Birdwatch Feature Could Undermine Their “Authority”

Organizations that Big Tech hires to “fact-check” content on their platforms are among those not too happy with Twitter’s announced Birdwatch tool.

Fact-checking has been one of the more controversial and murky components of censorship implemented by the companies behind large centralized social media.

Other than bias and sheer incompetence often demonstrated by the third party outfits hired by the likes of Twitter and Facebook to do their “dirty work,” one of the long standing criticisms has been that they simply have too much power in deciding which content to flag and label as misleading or misinforming.

Now that Twitter is trying to crowdsource “fact-checking” from its users (for free, and no doubt increasing the time they spend on the platform) these previously outsourced groups are expressing their skepticism regarding this kind of competition.

Gov. Newsom Approval Rating Plummets Among Recall Efforts

California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s approval rating among state voters has dropped as recall efforts have escalated, according to a new poll by the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies.

The poll also found that 31% of voters thought Newsom and the state’s government had done an “excellent” or “good” job fighting the pandemic, while 23% said they had done a “fair” job and 43% said they did a “poor” job.

Judge Says Smollett Case to Focus on ‘What Happened on the Street’ Night of Alleged Hate Crime Hoax

A Cook County judge Wednesday said evidence presented at Jussie Smollett’s upcoming trial should narrowly focus on “what happened on the street” the night the former “Empire” actor was accused of staging a fake hate crime.

Smollett, 38, faces felony charges for allegedly lying to Chicago police in January 2019 when he said he was jumped by two masked white men who shouted homophobic and racist slurs while punching him and pulling a thin rope noose over his head while he was walking back to his Streeterville apartment after stopping at a nearby Subway.

Following an investigation, police said they learned Smollett paid Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundiaroto —two brothers who worked with him on a fitness regimen — to stage the attack.

Michigan Students, Parents File Lawsuit Against Gov. Whitmer’s Administration for Ban on Winter Sports

A group of student athletes and their parents filed a lawsuit against Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s administration on Tuesday over her current ban on winter sports due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Let Them Play Michigan specifically targeted Michigan’s director of Health and Human Services, Elizabeth Hertel, demanding that she lift the department’s restrictions immediately. The governor has used the health department to force closures after her ability to declare a prolonged state of emergency was ruled unconstitutional by the Michigan Supreme Court.

The suit argues that the bans on winter sports are “unconstitutional because they deny students equal protection under the law, due process, and the right to free assembly, among other things.”

Politicizing the Classroom: 9 Things to Know About Illinois’ Pending “Culturally Responsive” K-12 Teaching Mandate

Authored by Ted Dabrowski and John Klingner via Wirepoints.org

The core goal of education has always been to teach students how to think, not what to think.

That may be about to change in Illinois. A sweeping, controversial rule is pending for Illinois K-12 teachers that should prompt everyone, of all political stripes, to fear for how students may soon be taught.

Like every state, Illinois has a set of rules and standards for how teachers are trained, licensed and reviewed. In general, those rules are about competency, but do not impose any political or ideological belief system on teachers or their curriculum.

The Illinois State Board of Education wants to change those requirements with what it calls “Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading” (CRTL) standards. They would largely replace the old apolitical focus on “critical thinking” with requirements that encourage “progressive viewpoints and perspectives.”

Worse, the new proposed standards effectively go beyond requirements for what should be taught in classrooms. They effectively impose a political litmus test for teachers to get or keep a job in Illinois’ educational system.

Revealed: Biden Advisers’ Deep Ties to Chinese Communist Party Military and Propaganda.

Harvard University’s Belfer Center — which counts participation from a host of current and former Joe Biden advisers — has repeatedly hosted conferences alongside the Chinese Communist Party, frequently publishing papers peddling CCP narratives, all while refusing to disclose its source of funding.

A host of high-level advisers in the Biden White House appear to have no issues with the aforementioned liaising with the Chinese Communist Party and its military.

Ash Carter, an Obama-era Secretary of Defense, leads the Belfer Center, and Eric Rosenbach, fellow Obama administration national security alum, leads the China initiative.

Jake Sullivan, Biden’s National Security Adviser, has served as a Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center.

What’s more, Biden’s Director of National Security Avril Haines — who recently hesitated to call China a “competitor” and instead opting for “global competitor” — appeared on the center’s “Office Hours” podcast in October 2017.

Greta Thunberg Deletes Protest Toolkit Tweet After it Revealed Global Designs Against India, Campaign Underway Since at Least November: Details

Climate environmentalist Greta Thunberg inadvertently revealed the sinister global campaign against India after she shared a ‘Toolkit’ for those who want to support the ongoing ‘farmer protests’ in the country.

At first glance, the document clarifies that it is not an organic wave of support but well-planned propaganda against the Indian government. When people noticed what was in those documents, the international campaign against India suffered a major blow. Although Greta Thunberg has deleted the tweet, but the damage has already been done.

On Monday, roughly 85,000 residents resumed their customary lifestyles, with some exceptions pertaining to strict border controls and international travel rules.

Italy: Eleven Doctors Probed Over Death of Ruby-Trial Witness

Investigation into whether Imane Fadil could have been saved

(ANSA) — ROME, JAN 22 — Eleven doctors working at a hospital in the province of Milan have been put under investigation in relation to the death of Imane Fadil, a key witnesses in the ‘Ruby’ trials against former premier Silvio Berlusconi.

The 34-year-old Moroccan model, who was a witness regarding allegations Berlusconi paid an underage prostitute and sought to influence court evidence regarding the so-called ‘bunga bunga’ parties at his home, died in March 2019 after over a month of agony at the Humanitas hospital in Rozzano.

Putting the doctors under investigation is necessary for court-appointed experts to be able to draft reports into whether there was a connection between the woman’s death and the medics’ conduct.

Fadil died of aplastic anemia.

According to the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO), there was a 15 percent increase in the number of deaths in the Czech Republic last year. Such a year-over-year change is quite unusual in Czech history.

According to preliminary data, 129,100 people died last year, which is almost 17,000 more than in 2019. Statistics do not provide specific reasons for the increase in mortality, but COVID-19 certainly contributed. According to the Ministry of Health, 11,872 people died in connection with the coronavirus last year.

Netherlands: Concerns About Plans for Illegal Carnaval Celebrations

Carnaval is canceled this year due to the pandemic, but the Brabant Carnaval Federation is seeing signs that people are planning illegal parties. “Left and right you hear from people that they are looking for a large space, farm or empty building,” federation chairman Rob van de Laar said to RTL Nieuws.

Carnaval was supposed to happen from February 13 to 16, but due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, the federation decided to rather be safe and cancel it. Some carnival foundations are organizing online events, but there will be no official physical parties.

Oversight Board Overturns Facebook’s Hydroxychloroquine Censorship

One of the prime targets of online censorship crusaders throughout the Covid pandemic has been information promoting the use of the drug hydroxychloroquine in treating the disease.

The drug is considered a safe and effective, as well as cheap and easily available form of treatment by many medical professionals, and is used in some countries, but is outlawed in others for what critics call political rather than scientific reasons.

True to the policy of opposing the use of these drugs to cure Covid, Facebook has been treating content promoting this as a violation of its rules that can cause imminent real world harm and represents misinformation, and last year removed a post from the platform on those grounds.

However, the post — created in France and accusing the French government of preventing the use of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin and therefore failing to save lives — will now have to be reinstated, Facebook’s Oversight Board had decided.

Polish Businesses Defying Lockdown

“It’s nice to eat out again,” said one diner. “We were very lucky to get a table,” said another. This is how guests described on Facebook their visit to the Goraleczka restaurant in the southern Polish town of Zakopane over the weekend.

Restaurant owner Marek Lopata was one of the first restaurant owners in Poland to join the #WeOpenUp (#OtwieraMY) campaign and open his popular ski resort eatery — despite coronavirus restrictions. “Our income has been at zero since the end of October,” he told DW. He said the situation had reached the point where he was forced to think about laying off staff, a move that “would break me mentally.”

Scottish Nationalists Lay Groundwork for Second Independence Referendum

LONDON (Reuters) — The Scottish National Party published a “Roadmap to Referendum” on Saturday, laying out plans for another vote on Scottish independence just as the United Kingdom grapples with COVID-19 and the impact of Brexit.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who would have to agree to a new referendum, argues there is no need for a new vote after independence was rejected by Scottish voters in 2014.

But the SNP has said that if it wins a parliamentary majority at elections scheduled for May 6, it will pass its own bill so that a referendum can take place once the pandemic is over.

Vaccine Fiasco Marks ‘Beginning of End of EU’, Says Farage

Brexit leader Nigel Farage has said that the European Commission’s disastrous handling of the bloc’s vaccination programme marks “the beginning of the end of the European Union as we know it”.

Only around three per cent of the EU27’s population is inoculated on average. In contrast, Brexit Britain, which signed contracts with drugs firms such as AstraZeneca months before Brussels, has protected more than 14 per cent of its inhabitants.

EU Regrets Kosovo’s Decision to Open an Embassy in Jerusalem

Diverges from EU position on two States’ capital status

(ANSA) — BRUXELLES, 02 FEB — The European Union regrets Kosovo’s decision to open an embassy in Jerusalem. The decision is “regrettable” and “diverges Kosovo from EU position on the issue of Jerusalem”, the spokesperson for EU foreign policy, Peter Stano, said today on the latest developments on the normalization of relations between Israel and Kosovo.

“All the embassies of the EU Member States and the EU delegations are located in Tel Aviv”, Stano recalled, underlining that the long-standing position of Brussels on the issue “has not changed.” The EU has always supported the two-State solution with Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and Palestine and “a final solution on the status of Jerusalem as the future capital of both States has to be found through direct negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians,” he said.

The spokesperson added that Kosovo has indicated “integration into the EU as its strategic priority and it is expected to act in line with that.”

Move freezes European hopes of a tariff revocation

(ANSAmed) — WASHINGTON, FEBRUARY 2 — In one of his first trade decisions, US President Joe Biden reintroduced for national security reasons the 10% tariff on aluminum imports from the United Arab Emirates that his predecessor Donald Trump had removed one day prior to leaving the White House, coinciding with the sale of 50 F-35 aircraft to Abu Dhabi.

Factory in Dubai to Produce Aluminum With Solar Energy

It will allow production of 40,000 tons in the first year

(ANSAmed) — NAPLES, JANUARY 25 — The United Arab Emirates will be the first country in the world to produce aluminum with solar energy. The production, part of Dubai’s strategy for sustainability, was announced by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) and the Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA). Dewa will provide for EGA’s smelter some 560,000 megawatt hours of solar power annually from the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which is sufficient to produce 40,000 tons of aluminum the first year with the potential for significant expansion. The new aluminum will go under the product name CelestiAL.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the CEO of Dewa and vice president of EGA, told the Khaleej Times that “this global achievement of both Dewa and EGA confirms our firm commitment to achieving the vision of his highness sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in building a green economy in UAE and reaching the goals of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 in diversifying energy sources and providing 75% of Dubai’s energy production capacity from clean energy sources by 2020. To achieve these goals, we have launched many initiatives and projects, most notably the Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum Solar Park, which is the largest single-site solar energy project in the world with a capacity of 5,000 megawatts by 2030. The solar park projects use photovoltaic panels and concentrated energy technologies”.

These new goals will allow to pursue a strategy that enabled Dubai already in 2019 to reduce carbon emissions by 22%, he said.

Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, chief executive officer of EGA, was quoted as saying by the Khaleej Times that “aluminum is lightweight, strong and infinitely recyclable metal and these properties mean that as a material it plays a vital role in the development of a sustainable future. CelestiAl, aluminum made in the UAE with solar power, will help make modern life possible for people around the world whilst protecting our planet for future generations”.

The Mystery of India’s Plummeting COVID-19 Cases

Last September, India was confirming nearly 100,000 new coronavirus cases a day. It was on track to overtake the United States to become the country with the highest reported COVID-19 caseload in the world. Hospitals were full. The Indian economy nosedived into an unprecedented recession.

But four months later, India’s coronavirus numbers have plummeted. Late last month, on Jan. 26, the country’s Health Ministry confirmed a record low of about 9,100 new daily cases — in a country of nearly 1.4 billion people. It was India’s lowest daily tally in eight months. On Monday, India confirmed about 11,000 cases.

“It’s not that India is testing less or things are going underreported,” says Jishnu Das, a health economist at Georgetown University. “It’s been rising, rising — and now suddenly, it’s vanished! I mean, hospital ICU utilization has gone down. Every indicator says the numbers are down.”

‘Child’ Migrant at Swedish Border Was Actually 60-Year-Old Woman

A 60-year-old woman claimed she was a child in an attempt to enter Sweden to visit her mother after the country introduced strict border controls.

While Swedish nationals are allowed across the border without delay, those with foreign passports need a valid reason to come into the country under present coronavirus lockdown regulations. One such valid excuse under the rules states that children under 18 can enter to visit their parents in Sweden.

  1. At 0833h GMT on 4.02 my GoV screen read as follows, but the linked article has a different text, as given after the world VERSUS. Because it would be utterly sensational if nearly half a group of people under 60 all got severe damage:

“A Health Ministry report publicized February 2nd says 41% of people under the age of 60 who received the COVID-19 vaccine, among them: medical staff, IDF, police, and Israel Prison Service personnel are being treated for severe immune system and pulmonary damage (paragraph 5.9).

    VERSUS:

“A Health Ministry report publicized February 2nd says 41% of people vaccinated so far are under the age of 60.

The report mentioned that among them are medical staff, IDF, police, and Israel Prison Service personnel, as well as people who have been treated in the past for severe immune system and pulmonary damage who recieved the vaccine earlier due to their situation.”

    • Apparently the barracks are not too unsuitable for the soldiers. Third World orcs on the other hand are not accustomed to such miserable accommodations. Likely they will now be moved to some four star hotel with unlimited Nutella rations and close proximity to schoolgirls to molest when they are bored with their free wifi and pornhub accounts.

    • Like Allenby (general commanding empire forces) being translated to “Allah bey’ (Arabic “prince of Allah”)

  4. Not sure if it was intentional, but the headline under “Israel and the Palestinians” is a misreading of the linked article.

The article merely states that 41% of those how have been vaccinated are under 60; including police, people with compromised immune systems, etc.

It does not state that 41% of those who have been vaccinated now have compromised immune systems. Yeesh.

    • It wasn’t MY intention. I used the title and text that were sent to me; I’m not sure where the title came from.

Maybe the news site changed their wording ….

He decapitated his wife and stabbed his father-in-law: who staged the massacre in Perm

In Perm, a 26-year-old man showed investigators how he killed his pregnant wife and her father. A native of Tajikistan beheaded his wife (also a Tajik) in an apartment with young children. The 21-year-old woman did not want to have a third child and told her husband about her desire to file for divorce, which pissed off the young man.

Local residents told the portal progorod59.ru that the family came from Tajikistan. Neither the girl, nor her husband, nor her father were officially employed. Nevertheless, the deceased man owned a warehouse at the local vegetable market. Neighbors described him as a decent, believing Muslim, reports the edition “In course.ru”.
