Letter Signals US Treasury Will Allow Blockchains and Stablecoins for Bank Payments

The US banking industry regulator, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), led by Brian Brooks, has issued a letter meant to interpret how banks and savings associations may use stablecoins and blockchains to validate, store and record payments.

While blockchain is the tech that serves as the transaction ledger of decentralized cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, stablecoins are often centralized and tied to fiat money like the US dollar or gold, all in a bid to stabilize their value.

Now the OCC letter, signed by Brooks — formerly of digital currency exchange Coinbase — explains that banks can serve as nodes on independent node verification networks (INVNs) and related stablecoins. The requirement is that these banks comply with the law and good practices.

Restaurant Closings Top 110,000 With Industry in ‘Free Fall’

More than 110,000 restaurants have closed permanently or long-term across the country as the industry grapples with the devastating impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. And more pain is ahead, with a potential shutdown of indoor dining in New York City just as the temperatures drop.

The nationwide tally — representing one in six U.S. eateries — is among the findings of a survey released Monday by the National Restaurant Association. The figure was up from about 100,000 shutdowns in a September survey. The Washington-based trade group shared the latest results with Congressional leaders in an attempt to secure financial support for a sector rocked by rising costs and falling sales.

2020 Was a Snack, 2021 is the Main Course

Though 2020 is widely perceived as “the worst year ever,” it was only a snack. The real banquet of consequences will be served in 2021. The reason 2020 was only a snack is that systems didn’t break down in 2020. The reason 2021 is the main course is that systems will break down, and once broken, they cannot be restored.

I made the chart below to explain how systems fail and why they cannot be restored. Systems have numerous sources of potential fragility:

40% of Chicago Teachers and Staff Didn’t Report to Schools as Ordered, District Says

About 40% of Chicago Public Schools teachers and staff who were expected to report to schools Monday for the first time during the pandemic didn’t show up for in-person work, officials said Tuesday, accusing the Chicago Teachers Union of pressuring its members to defy the district’s orders.

In all, about half of teachers and three-quarters of school-based support staff in preschool and special education cluster programs returned to classrooms as expected, accounting for 60% of those 4,400 employees scheduled to go back to specific schools, the district announced. Officials didn’t immediately provide data on another estimated 1,400 employees that were supposed to return but work at more than one school. The first two days after winter break last school year saw about 83% of employees present.

Antifa Rioters Vandalized Federal Buildings in Philadelphia, Cops Say

A group of far-left rioters in Philadelphia are facing charges for vandalizing federal buildings on New Year’s Eve, leaving behind “Antifa-related graffiti,” police said.

Roughly 50 people clad in all black descended upon Center City and defaced the historic US Customs House, the Robert Nix Federal Building and the Federal Detention Center late Thursday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

The federal lockup at Seventh and Arch streets was vandalized by far-left protesters with “Antifa-related graffiti,” Philadelphia police Chief Inspector Mike Cram said Thursday.

California Rules Insurance Companies Must Cover Breast Amputation for Transgender Minors

California has decided that insurance coverage in the state must cover breast amputation for minor girls who choose to identify as male.

By recategorizing double mastectomies for gender dysphoric females as “reconstructive” rather than “cosmetic,” the California insurance commissioner has declared that normal female breast tissue qualifies as “abnormal structures of the body caused by congenital defects,” and therefore health insurance providers may not deny coverage of the surgery to minor transgender patients.

Christian Nationalism and COVID Vaccine Doubt Threatens America’s Herd Immunity

Americans have found all sorts of reasons to be suspicious of vaccines. One community that appears disproportionately opposed is Christian nationalists. In fact, we find in a new study that Americans who strongly embrace Christian nationalism — close to a quarter of the population — are much more likely to question the safety of vaccines and to be misinformed about them (e.g., believing that vaccines cause autism or don’t work or that those who administer them are dishonest). If enough of these Americans resist a Covid-19 vaccine based on suspicions rooted in misinformation, the results would be disastrous for achieving herd immunity and reducing the spread of the virus.

Christian nationalism is an ideology that seeks to have a particular expression of Christianity be privileged in the public sphere — in the national identity, public policies and sacred symbols of the U.S. It focuses on defining the boundaries of American citizenship, who is (and isn’t) a “true” American.

[Comment: Propaganda designed to demonize Christians and encourage public to worship at the alter of technocrat “science”.]

Thus far, online censorship, justified by the need to fight “misinformation,” has been done in the US largely at the discretion of tech giants and their social networks — even though often under political and corporate media pressure.

Epidemiologist Says Influenza Cases Are Being Counted as COVID-19

Top epidemiologist Knut Wittkowski says that the massive drop in influenza cases can be attributed to the fact that many are being falsely counted as COVID-19 cases.

Wittkowski, former Head of Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design at Rockefeller University, cautioned that, “Influenza has been renamed COVID-19 in large part.”

According to CDC figures, the cumulative positive influenza test rate from late September into the week of December 19th was just 0.2%, compared to 8.7% from a year before.

Fauci is “Sure” COVID Vaccine Will be Mandatory for School or Travel

Among other things, Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of the United State’s head tyrants trying to usher in the New World Order, is “sure” that the COVID-19 vaccine no one wants will be mandatory for school or traveling. Institutions could “mandate” the vaccine for the government, so they literally won’t have to write it into policy.

Institutions like hospitals and possibly schools will mandate that a person receives a COVID-19 vaccination, Dr. Anthony Fauci predicted. “I would not be surprised, as we get into the full scope of [COVID-19] vaccination, that some companies, some hospitals, some organizations might require [COVID-19] vaccination,” he said in an interview with Newsweek.

There has already been quite a bit of talk on how to “punish” those who decide they don’t want this concoction swimming around in their veins.

The FDA today joined The WHO and Dr.Fauci in admitting there is a notable risk of false results from the standard PCR-Test used to define whether an individual is a COVID “Case” or not.

This matters significantly as it fits perfectly with the ‘fake rescue’ plan we have previously described would occur once the Biden admin took office. But before we get to that ‘conspiracy’, we need a little background on how the world got here…

Florida Sheriff Warns BLM, “I Will Deputize Gun Owners if You Think You Can Bring Your Lawlessness Here’

Since the Democrats aren’t standing up to the movements, a Florida sheriff is taking it upon himself to send out a clear message to the so-called peaceful movements.

First posted to YouTube, Sheriff Darryl Daniels expressed his concerns about the Black Lives Matter movements and gave a word of warning for any members who seek to spread their message of hate in his state. Daniels said, “Look folks, don’t fall victim to subjecting yourself to this conversation that law enforcement is bad, that law enforcement is the enemy of the citizens that we’re sworn to protect and serve.”

New York Bill SB416: Quarantine Camps & Forced Vaccinations

It’s no longer a conspiracy theory. A bill in New York, SB416, will utilize FEMA camps and forced vaccines to deal with people who “MAY” by contagious or a public health threat. Who gets to determine who is interned in these camps? The ruling class, of course.

The FEMA camps those “crazy conspiracy theorists” have warned about could very soon be a reality for those living in New York state.

New York Senate Bill 416 authorizes the quarantine (jailing in internment camps) of individuals or groups who “potentially pose a threat to public health,” including forced testing and vaccinations. No Charges Filed From Investigation Into Late Abortion Doctor Ulrich Klopfer

Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill has announced that there will be no charges filed as a result of an investigation into Dr. Ulrich Klopfer, the abortion doctor whose family found thousands of aborted baby remains in his garage in Illinois after he died.

“The remains, mostly found in molding boxes and old Styrofoam coolers containing large, red medical waste bags, were in various states of decay,” a statement from Hill’s office said. “Each remain appeared to have been placed in a small, clear, plastic specimen bag for purposes of being medically preserved in a chemical suspected to be formalin, a formaldehyde derivative. However, many of the bags degraded over time and/or suffered damage, resulting in leakage from the individual bags into the outer bag, box, or cooler.”

Czechia: The Vaccine is Our Hope, Says PM Babis in His New Year’s Speech

In his New Year’s speech, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis said the year 2021 begins on an unhappy note as the Czech Republic failed to tame the coronavirus epidemic so far. But it also showed solidarity, he said, adding that the vaccine presents hope for returning to normal.

Czechia will catch up with the financial losses related to the epidemic, it is the lost lives that are irreplaceable, Babis said in his speech. He also apologized to tradesmen for closing businesses.

“I’m truly sorry, but we had to choose between bad and worse. In this situation, human health and lives had to be given priority. The year was incredibly sad, difficult, and depressing,” he continued, stressing the economic losses as well.

Germany Latest to Extend Lockdown, FDA Warns Against Stretching COVID Vaccine Doses: Live Updates

Yesterday, Governors Andrew Cuomo and Gavin Newsom confirmed that cases of the “mutated” COVID-19 strain B.1.1.7, which was first discovered in the UK, had been isolated in their states, prompting members of Joe Biden’s COVID-19 advisory team to call for more genomic surveillance to better understand how these “mutated” strains might be spreading. And last night, Boris Johnson unveiled plans for England would join Scotland in a new nationwide lockdown, starting Tuesday.

It’s widely expected that Germany will be the next major European country to order up a new lockdown, as Chancellor Angela Merkel insists that the current restrictions simply don’t go far enough. Hungary’s Top Challenges of 2021 Are the Pandemic and Migration, Says Foreign Minister Szijjarto

Besides the coronavirus pandemic, immigration will remain the second biggest challenge this year, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjartó said on Monday. This also means that the government will continue its fight to protect national interests and will not yield to any pressure, he added.

The minister said Hungary is “still standing on two legs” on the issue of vaccine procurement, meaning that besides the European Union’s common vaccine purchase, it is also looking at available alternative sources.

‘Restrict Contact to Absolute Minimum’: Merkel Extends German National Lockdown Until at Least End January

Germans will have to limit contacts to a “minimum,” Chancellor Angela Merkel said, as she announced that the national Covid-19 lockdown is being both toughened and extended until the end of January, amid soaring infection numbers.

“We need to restrict contact more strictly… We ask all citizens to restrict contact to the absolute minimum,” Merkel told journalists on Tuesday.

Shops, bars, and restaurants in Germany, as well as schools, will remain shut at least until the end of January, Merkel announced, following a video conference with the leaders of the country’s 16 federal states. The government is aiming to reduce infection rates to fewer than 50 cases per 100,000 residents before any restrictions will be lifted.

UK Authorities Accused of ‘Inflating Far-Right Threat to Appease Critics Who Say They Focus Too Much on Jihadis

I’ve been pointing this out for years; in fact, it’s why I was banned from entering the UK despite never engaging in, calling for, or condoning any violent activity. The British government is determined to fabricate a “far-right threat” that is equivalent to that of Islamic jihadis, so as to appease its growing, restive, and demanding Muslim population. So first they have to smear people who simply want to defend the freedom of speech and free society as “far-right,” and then pretend that they’re just as numerous and violent, if not more so, than jihadis. In order to do this, they have to treat people saying things they don’t like as if they were the same threat as people plotting mass murder.

“The old terrors: Referrals of Over-60s to government’s counter-extremism Prevent programme rocket by nearly 90 per cent as authorities are accused of ‘inflating far-right threat to appease critics who say they focus too much on Jihadis,’“ by Dan Sales, Mailonline, January 3, 2021.

China Threatens Licenses of Lawyers Who Represent Pro-Democracy Activists

Chinese authorities have threatened to revoke the law licenses of two attorneys for defending a group of Hong Kong protesters arrested in December trying to flee to Taiwan, one of the lawyers revealed.

Lawyers Ren Quanniu and Lu Siwei were hired by family members of some of the 12 activists, after the protesters were arrested on charges of illegal boundary crossing.

Most of the group were facing charges related to the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong in 2019, while one member, Andi Li, was being investigated by Chinese authorities for violating the new national security law imposed on the city by Beijing last year.

Top US Official Says ‘Growing Body of Evidence’ Shows COVID-19 Leaked From Chinese Lab

The most ‘credible’ theory about the origin of COVID-19 is that it escaped from a Chinese laboratory, according to US National Security Adviser Matthew Pottinger, who made the comment during a Zoom meeting with UK officials.

“There is a growing body of evidence that the lab is likely the most credible source of the virus,” said Pottinger, referring to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, according to the Daily Mail, which notes that ‘even China’s leaders openly admit their previous claims that the virus originated in a Wuhan market are false.’

Julian Assange is ‘Free to Return Home’ To Australia if US Court Appeal Fails

Julian Assange is “free to return home” to Australia if the US loses its final appeal to extradite him to face espionage charges, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Tuesday.

The 49-year-old WikiLeaks founder won a major legal victory Monday when a UK court deemed him too great a suicide risk to send to the US, a decision the US government immediately said it would appeal.

“Should the appeal fail, obviously he would be able to return to Australia like any other Australian,” Morrison told local radio station 2GB.

UK: Failed Asylum Seeker Who Murdered Three Avoided Deportation Because Libya Was Unstable

Failed asylum seeker Khairi Saadallah avoided deportation to Libya for more than seven years before going on a murderous stabbing spree that authorities labelled a terror attack because human rights laws forbid deporting foreigners if their native country is unstable.

The revelation came during the sentencing hearing of the 26-year-old Libyan at the Old Bailey on Tuesday. In November, Saadallah pleaded guilty to murdering three men and attempting to murder three others during a stabbing rampage at a Reading park on June 20th, 2020. During the multi-day sentencing hearing, the prosecution is arguing that Saadallah was influenced by Islamist jihadist ideology to commit a premeditated terror attack and that he should face life in prison.

Climate Change Causation: Was the Medieval Warm Period ‘Regional?’

Some commenters yesterday noted that the climate establishment has not just completely ignored the threat to their orthodoxy posed by the Medieval Warm Period and other similarly-warm pre-human-emissions eras.

Initially, there was a recognition that this issue could be important, and there was definitely some attempt to deal with it.

However, over time, the accumulation of evidence, particularly as to the existence Medieval Warm Period as a global phenomenon, gradually became overwhelming.

So — in the face of evidence that, under the normal precepts of the scientific method, would be deemed to invalidate the hypothesis that only human CO2 emissions could be causing current warming — how can the orthodoxy be kept alive?

The answer, almost entirely, has been to resort to the hand-waving of “detection and attribution” studies, and hope nobody notices. And, to a remarkable extent, nobody notices.

Comedian Rowan Atkinson: Cancel Culture ‘Like a Medieval Mob’

Rowan Atkinson, famous for portraying the characters Mr Bean and Blackadder, has once again hit headlines for slamming the rise of a destructive cancel culture.

In an interview with the UK’s Radio Times, Atkinson described online trolls trying to ban everything as “the digital equivalent of the medieval mob.”

“The problem we have online is that an algorithm decides what we want to see, which ends up creating a simplistic, binary view of society,” he said.

“It becomes a case of either you’re with us or against us. And if you’re against us, you deserve to be ‘cancelled’,” the British comedian emphasised.

Islamophobia vs Homophobia: The Case of Mila is a Warning to the LGBT Community of Europe

LGBT communities in Poland like to complain about intolerance, which they supposedly experience at the hands of Catholics. It would be good if they acquainted themselves with the story of Mila, a 16-year-old French high school student who declares herself an LGBT activist and whose life has been turned upside down.

In January 2020, one of Mila’s peers in school, who came from a migrant family, made an aggressive sexual advance that Mila flatly rejected. The furious boy insulted her, referring to her as a lesbian and condemning her while using the name of Allah.

Mila decided to strike back. Using language worthy of the Polish Women’s Strike leader Marta Lempart, whose slogan is “f**k off”, Mila told the boy what she thought of Islam, the Quran and Muhammad.

New Year, Old Yaniv: Jonathan Yaniv Facing New Criminal Charges for Threats, Mischief

Will 2021 finally be the year where justice is finally served for the infamous Jessica Simpson, formally known as Jonathan Yaniv?

On December 30, MeowMix.org broke the news that a warrant was out for the arrest of Yaniv. We have since confirmed that while the rest of us were bringing in the New Year, Yaniv spent New Year’s Day being arrested on three new charges.

Yaniv, who is probably best known for identifying as a transgender woman, sees nothing wrong with filing human rights suits against female estheticians who refused to handle and shave Yaniv’s male genitalia. However, Yaniv also has a history of violence, including assaulting two of my Rebel News colleagues.

Study Says Transgender Women Retain Athletic Advantage After a Year of Hormone Treatment — But Author Defends Letting Them Compete

Male-to-female transgendered people retain notable physical advantages over their cisgendered female counterparts after a year of taking hormones, a study has revealed, stating the obvious in scientific fashion.

Athletes in the process of transitioning to female remain significantly stronger than their biologically-born competitors even after a year of receiving hormone therapy, researcher Timothy Roberts of Children’s Mercy Hospital in Missouri revealed last month in a retrospective study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

Roberts used five years’ worth of US Air Force data to track the performance of transitioning servicemembers during their regular physical examinations. Only after two years do trans athletes begin to perform more in line with their adopted gender, the study found.

Even so, the data showed that transwomen still ran 12 percent faster than their cisgender female peers after two years.

  1. “Male-to-female transgendered people retain notable physical advantages over their cisgendered female counterparts after a year of taking hormones, a study has revealed, stating the obvious in scientific fashion.”

This is already well know. That’s why normally at least a year of hormonal therapy is required before anything else. It’s the same as puberty.
Obviously they shouldn’t be competing. Or rather, they should take a break from their career or compete among men until after that year. The sensible thing to do would be to take a break (or postpone therapy after the peak of his or her career).

    • That these are airmen/airwomen being studied should shock all Americans. It’s…insane and a rip-off of this nation!

  2. This is what is happening in my country.
As a maritime nation,Epiphany is a very important day.

Shocking images from Thessaloniki, where worshipers gathered at dawn outside the churches in the cold and darkness to be able to pray and commune, as the government and infectious disease specialists have imposed a “padlock” on the faith.
Also, their order was to open the churches only at 1:30 from 8:30 to 10, while of course the sanctification of the waters will not take place.
In fact, it did not take long for the security forces to appear, who were watching the faithful at close range, making their presence felt, thus sending the message that the faithful should not dare and come at a distance of less than 1-1.5 meters from each other or take off their mask.
These conditions, reminiscent of other times and other regimes, made the Greeks end up “crypto-Christians” with many fearing government repression and infectious disease specialists being forced to pray at home, even calling on people close to them, as centuries ago when the Christian faith was banned.

In Aigio, the Metropolitan of Aigialeia and Kalavrita Ieronymos, accompanied by the former Metropolitan of Kalavrita Ambrosios, sanctified the waters in the sea in defiance of the prohibitions of the government and infectious disease specialists.
In fact, the ceremony took place in the presence of believers, as is done normally and in fact two swimmers fell into the water to catch the cross!
According to information, the Coast Guard intervened, following a prosecutor’s order and imposed a fine of 1,500 euros on the Metropolitan and 300 euros on the two faithful, based on the bans.
We remind you that incidents also occurred in Thessaloniki , where security forces brought worshipers, who threw the cross alone, as no priest agreed to sanctify the waters.
At the same time, citizens gathered at dawn outside the churches to avoid the security forces like the … crypto-Christians.
