For the last few months the European Commission, acting as a puppet for George Soros, has been attempting to force Hungary and Poland to adopt the progressive cultural and political policies as practiced by the western portion of the European Union. The rules imposed by Brussels that Central Europe would be required to abide by are laughably designated the “rule of law”.
Last week the two sides stood eye to eye, and Brussels blinked. The budget process has now been decoupled from the “rule of law”, and the money spigots will open again.
Last month I posted one of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s replies to George Soros. Below is Mr. Orbán’s latest response, as published by the Hungarian news agency MTI (Magyar Távirati Iroda) and translated by CrossWare:

Viktor Orbán’s answer to the writing of György Soros
Europe has not surrendered — Samizdat 4.
George Soros sheds crocodile tears. While this does not return the money of millions of people, families, businesses robbed by speculators, it is enough for modest satisfaction. The most corrupt man in the world and his network have good reason to be disappointed. Europe has not surrendered; Soros’ grandiose plan has been suspended at the European Council. The spotlight is on budget money, the recovery fund, and who has access to what and how. After all, we live in a material world. But the money in the Union’s budget has so far been kept under strict and multiple European supervision in all member states. The dog is buried elsewhere…
Who will govern Europe in the future? That was the real bet at last week’s meeting. Will the governments elected by the citizens of the member states and their council govern Europe, or Soros will succeed in building a new power structure? A network of NGOs disseminating liberal, post-national and post-Christian ideas, the mainstream left-wing and right-wing media carrying and reinforcing those ideas, a significant group of MEPs, the so-called Soros envoys brought to the Commission and a mechanism called the “rule of law” linking them — these will stand?
The plan is as simple as it is grandiose. The headquarters of a financial center, George Soros, funds thousands of NGOs, research institutes, analytical workshops and activists who influence the direction of mainstream media. It buys and networks a critical mass of MEPs, putting the people who work for him in key positions such as [Frans] Timmermans and Vera Jourová. Finally, it adopts legislation that sets political preconditions — gender, migration, an open society, liberal democracy — for member states to gain access to EU funds.
Countries that insist on their national sovereignty, Christian roots, and traditional family model, such as Poland and Hungary, must be hanged on this well-considered rope. And those who are reluctant, such as the better-off Central European countries and the renowned Scandinavians, need to be assigned to a public “actus fidei” [Latin, “the act of faith” — medieval judgment by the church] to understand the essence of liberal reasoning.
At the last minute, European governments woke up. They read the “rule of law” country reports written by György Soros and Frans Timmermans with Ms. Jourová. Suddenly, everyone understood that the verdict had already been handed down before the trial, and there would be others after Hungary and Poland.
The decision of the European Council last week was an open opposition to György Soros’ attempt to take power. Political issues cannot be linked to financial issues, subjective criteria cannot be the basis for financial decisions, and the legal procedure laid down in the Treaty on the European Union cannot be applied in a Soros manner. The European Union has maintained its unity and won.
George Soros lost. It would be time for Europeans to finally send him home to America. There is no explanation for why we Europeans tolerate an American speculator building and buying an EU system of influence with American money. Until European leaders take this last step, we will have to face attempts to seize power again and again in the future. The migration and gender action plan from György Soros’ workshop is already on the table. It would be time to put an end to György Soros’ European amok run.
