Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/27/2020

Two megachurches in California have reopened as “family-friendly strip clubs”. The joke is a reference to the fact that churches have been ordered closed under the latest COVID rules, but strip clubs remain open.

In other news, a British scientist warned that kissing one’s grandparents over Christmas would be a bad idea, since it might spread a lethal dose of the Wuhan Coronavirus to the old folks.

21 More Seattle-Area Restaurants and Bars Close Permanently During COVID-19 Fall Surge

Any list of restaurant and bar closures is incomplete, and this one is likely particularly, woefully so. Even in better times, such an accounting is lacking, reliant on announcements, tips and seeing places dark when they should be aglow. With recent day upon day of record-breaking new cases of COVID-19 locally and a new dining-in shutdown in effect until Dec. 14, many restaurants and bars have closed temporarily, while many others are still making food to go, trying to hang on. (Get takeout to help get them through this!) Meanwhile, there are tense negotiations with landlords and calls for more governmental aid for an industry on the brink.

We can sadly add award-winning, all-organic Tilth and beloved Boeing Field diner Randy’s to this tally, both commemorated in previous stories. And there are certainly more temporary closures that have already become permanent than those listed here. And, doubtless, many more to come.

American Governors — COVID Crisis Actors

Crisis actors are actors (or role players) portraying a victim during emergency training exercises for first responders. Their purpose is to simulate a real crisis, a dress rehearsal for the real thing where victims will be covered with real blood rather than red stage blood.

American governors, and other politicians, are a new version of crisis actors, proclaiming a crisis and offering draconian solutions and mandates, but when not acting, after removing their costumes and make up, they are contradicting the dictates of their contrived crises.

Ahead of the holidays, as President Trump is digging out from under an avalanche of election fraud and fake news, another crisis is brewing, seemingly to punish Americans for electing Trump not once, but twice, as is likely to be demonstrated in the weeks ahead.

The crisis is the COVID “surge”, leading to lockdowns, closed businesses, travel restrictions, and other manners of punishment heaped upon Americans who simply want to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with their families. Is this a real or contrived crisis?

American Stasi

In the wake of the pandemic currently wreaking havoc on our society and cultural norms, we have our federal government scrambling for the right response and the various states and territories doing the same. Right now, here in the United States of America in the year 2020, we have governors and oth er elected officials (I will never refer to them as leaders!) encouraging and even urging the citizenry to spy on itself and report to the state those who transgress the various orders, mandates, edicts and requirements handed down by them. To call the police if there are too many people in the sam e place at the same time, in the eyes of the person making the dreaded call. To be, in effect, tattletales and snitches for “the state.”

Folks, whatever the rationale behind those orders may be and whatever reasoning you or they might employ to justify them, actions like that by our political office holders smacks of state overbearing. Of repression. Of intimidation and fear. Of tyranny. I chose that word deliberately, and I did not do so lightl

The resemblance to the tactics used by the Stasi, however cleverly camouflaged here and couched in whatever innocent sounding terms they like to use, justified by whatever seemingly compassionate motivations those officials tout, is inherently and incredibly dangerous. Far more dangerous than any g erm, virus or microbe.

American Woman Charged With Transferring Money to Syria-Based Terrorists

U.S. federal prosecutors have charged a New Jersey woman with concealing multiple efforts to transfer money to Islamist militants in Syria connected to the Nusra Front, a onetime al Qaeda affiliate based in Syria’s Idlib province.

Maria Bell, 53, of Hopatcong, New Jersey, was accused in a criminal complaint of knowingly concealing her involvement in providing material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, namely al-Nusra.

Bell was scheduled to appear by video conference on Wednesday afternoon before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Newark. Rahul Sharma, a public defender expected to represent her, declined to comment.

California Megachurches Rebrand as ‘Family Friendly Strip Clubs’ To Protest State’s COVID-19 Restrictions (Videos)

Two megachurches decided to open Sunday services with some safe-for-work joke stripteases, in a cheeky protest against California’s closing down of churches due to the Covid-19 pandemic, while letting strip clubs stay open.

Before the start of Sunday’s sermon, pastors at two churches opened with short burlesque dance routines, taking off their jackets and even throwing their ties into the cheering audience.

“Strip clubs (Not Churches) are exempt from the Covid lockdowns, and are deemed essential by our governor!” said senior pastor of Awaken Church Jurgen Matthesius on Instagram. “So we decided we are NOW Awaken family friendly strip club!” he quipped.

The pastor then rolled with the joke, clarifying, “we strip the devil of his hold, power & authority over people’s lives!”

Caroline Glick: A Call for Late Justice for Col. Larry Franklin

Last month, in a small town in West Virginia, a 74-year-old husband and his invalid wife were hospitalized for several days after eating rotten food the husband fished out of a dumpster.

For the past decade and a half, former Pentagon intelligence analyst and operative Col. (retired) Lawrence (Larry) Franklin and his wife Patricia have lived in utter destitution. During his 35 years of service, Col. Franklin was celebrated as a brilliant, fearless intelligence officer by his colleagues and bosses at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), in the U.S. Air Force and in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Now, the aging hero who saved countless U.S. servicemen lives in war zones is a broken man. Col. Franklin subsists on the meager wages he earns from washing dishes, cleaning septic tanks and parking cars, while also taking care of his invalid wife.

Col. Franklin’s fall from grace is a tale that cries out for justice.

In 2003, Col. Franklin, a survivor of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon, was working as the Iran desk officer in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld needed constant information on Iran: namely, its efforts to undermine the U.S. war efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, its sprawling terror networks and its burgeoning nuclear weapons program.

In the framework of his duties, Col. Franklin was authorized to share intelligence with U.S. allies, including Israel. He had a long-standing, warm relationship with Israeli military and intelligence officers dating back to his tenure as Air Force Defense Attaché in Israel during the 1990s. Col. Franklin also had close contacts with officials who worked on Iran-related issues for the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC.

Throughout his presidency, George W. Bush’s Iran policy was a bundle of contradictions. The State Department and the CIA supported appeasing Iran and wishing away the threat it posed to U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as growing evidence of its nuclear program. Rumsfeld, then-Vice President Dick Cheney and some members of the National Security Council believed Iran could not be appeased, that its threat needed to be confronted head-on.

Facing a split among his top advisors, Bush opted for incoherence, refusing to issue clear guidance that would put him on one side against the other…

Landback Campaign Supporters Vandalize Statues in “National Decolonial Day of Action”

Several statues and monuments were destroyed on Thursday as part of a “national decolonial day of action.”

In Washington state, a statue of Abraham Lincoln was vandalized with red paint while other colonial statues, including one of George Washington, in Minneapolis were defaced and toppled.

Red graffiti on the historical works read “No more genocide” and “all colonizers are bastards.”

The Pan-Indigenous People’s Liberation (PIPL) network explained that the move was partially in response to a callout for a “national decolonial day of action.”

Pennsylvania Republican Lawmakers Introduce Resolution Disputing 2020 Election Results

HARRISBURG (KDKA) — Pennsylvania Republican lawmakers have introduced a resolution intending to dispute the 2020 election results on Friday.

The resolution intends to declare the 2020 election results as being “in dispute,” delay the certification of votes from Pennsylvania for both the state and presidential races and asks for the U.S. Congress to also declare the 2020 presidential race to be in dispute.

The legislators contend that a multitude of factors put the election results in dispute, including the extension of the mail-in ballot deadline and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s ruling that loosened restrictions regarding signature authentication. They also accuse Secretary of the Commonwealth Kathy Boockvar of certifying the results of the election “prematurely… despite ongoing litigation.”

Seattle Police Union Leader Blasts City Law Enforcement Cuts, Warns ‘Public Safety on the Line’

Seattle’s crime increase will only get worse if the city’s leadership continues to hamstring its police force, Seattle Police Officers Guild president Mike Solan told Fox News Wednesday.

The Civil War Has Already Begun

With both encouraging and heartily discouraging information relating to the outcome of the Nov. 3 general election being disseminated on an hourly basis, many Americans remain hopeful that President Donald Trump will be able to establish that there was sufficient voter fraud and/or tampering to sway the election in favor of the Biden-Harris ticket, thus retaining his office.

With dwindling support for Trump amongst GOP lawmakers and politicos (if it ever truly existed), the tacit acceptance of tainted election results on the part of elected officials, the establishment press and news outlets that once at least attempted to appear objective and the entreaties of citizens who believe that any decisive result will represent the return to a semblance of normalcy, it becomes more probable that the president will be forced to concede the election with each passing day.

The contention over the results of this election may appear similar to that surrounding the 2000 general election, but the circumstances are of course quite different. When the George W. Bush and Al Gore campaigns fought it out in court over hanging chads in the election’s wake, it had not yet been made apparent that the Democratic Party represented wholesale radical leftism, with the Democratic national leadership and state governors willing to countenance treason, mayhem and murder in order to secure their political objectives.

Unfortunately, at this juncture, it has become quite apparent that this is the case.

They Are Developing a “Digital Passport” For International Travel That Will Show if You Have Been Vaccinated

International travel will soon look far different than it once did. Now that multiple vaccines for COVID-19 have been rushed through the development process, it is just a matter of time before they start being widely distributed. In fact, we are being told that the rollout for COVID-19 vaccines h ere in the United States will likely begin some time in the middle of December. There will be millions of people that will be quite eager to rush out and get injected, but of course there will be millions of others that never intend to get vaccinated under any circumstances. Unfortunately, those that choose not to get vaccinated could soon find themselves being unable to travel internationally…

But if the federal government ultimately decides to order the airlines to go along with this new program, you know that they will fall in line.

And once “COVID passports” are in place for international travel, how long will it be before they start being required for domestic travel?

Prior to the pandemic, talking about such a thing would have been unimaginable, but at this point we are seeing unimaginable measures being instituted all over the world.

What the Election Will Come Down To

We need to begin with what most people almost surely know, despite the predictable disclaimers and pro forma expressions of doubt emerging all over the infoscape, namely, the 2020 election is in process of being stolen in what amounts to an insidiously deceptive coup d’état. It is fair to assume th at this is common knowledge.

The circumstantial evidence is dispositive.

Biden was rarely able to manage a rally of more than a dozen or two stalwarts while Trump’s rallies could top 50,000; Biden garnered more votes than even Obama did, a sublime unlikelihood; the media called for Biden when Trump was comfortably ahead in the ballot count; a sudden and nigh-miraculous manna drop of late-arriving ballots in the wee hours tilted the scale for Biden; the virtual expulsion of Republican scrutineers at the voting booths and the obstruction by State authorities of monitored recounts; and the use of Dominion voting systems allegedly calibrated to favor Biden and erase Trump.

Veteran lawyer Robert Kirk is convinced that the facts are “…the kind and quality of substantial evidence, which, if presented to a jury, would easily result in a unanimous verdict by all twelve jurors, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the re-election of Donald J. Trump was stolen through the use of the Dominion voting software systems installed in stat es throughout our country.” The so-called system “glitches” privileging Biden turn out to constitute an unmistakable pattern, a veritable constellation of effects. Moreover, the contest is far from over and the kraken has yet to be released.

Syria: Facebook Censorship Covers Up Evidence of War Crimes

War-torn Syria is figuratively and literally being picked apart: not only has it seen physical destruction at the hands of Islamic State and other terrorist groups of its historic sites, that are major world heritage monuments, but there’s also been widespread looting of its ancient treasures.

Facebook is then often used as the place where looters and black marketers set up groups that help them find their buyers, reports said.

While Facebook is busy trying to find an efficient way to suppress political speech and content, this type of criminal activity reportedly all too often slips through the giant’s censorship cracks, although the platform prohibited the sale of such items back in June.

The law was then heavily criticized and brought to the Constitutional Court by NGOs and a group of socialist MPs headed by today’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

‘Poland Was Right Not to Permit the Forceful Transfer of Migrants’ — Top Polish Editor Says France Reveals the Dangers of Mass Migration

The crisis in France shows that Poland was right to oppose Brussels’ migrant policy, said Tomasz Sakiewicz, the editor-in-chief of Gazeta Polska, in an interview with TVP Info.

“We should help migrants but in the places from which they are escaping, encouraging them to stay in their homes. We cannot transfer entire countries,” Sakiewicz said in context of the difficult situation France is facing with migrants from Africa.

Authorities in Paris cleared a camp of 2,000 illegal migrants from the city this week, which sparked protests. The editor-in-chief told TVP Info that if French authorities had permitted these migrants to remain in their camps in Paris, then in the next two to three years, the city would turn into a “grand Mecca for all Islamic, Arabic migrants.”

Lawsuit: Starbucks Fired Employee for Refusing ‘Pride’ Shirt

(FOX NEWS) — A New Jersey woman was fired by Starbucks for refusing to wear a “Pride” T-shirt because of her religious beliefs, a lawsuit alleges.

Betsy Fresse, a Christian from Newark, who started working as a Starbucks barista in December 2015, alleged in a suit filed last week that she was “assured” by managers that her faith wouldn’t be an issue after transferring to a store in Glen Ridge early last year.

But months later, during a meeting in a manager’s office in June 2019, Fresse noticed a box of Starbucks’ Pride shirts on a desk. She then asked if she’d be required to wear one, which would be “tantamount to forced speech” because she believes marriage is defined by the Bible as between “one man a nd one woman only,” the lawsuit states.
