The Global Cost of the COVID Pandemic

While the cost of the pandemic will only be truly known in years to come, Deutsche Bank’s Jim Reid writes that “we can get some good early indications by looking at debt increases around the world.”

Looking at the latest debt report by the Institute of International Finance, which we profiled yesterday, the IIF suggested that global debt will hit $277 trillion (365%) by the end of 2020 up around $20 trillion over the year (just shy of the annual size of the US economy). Excluding financial debt (where there is double counting risk), global debt/GDP will go up by 35pp in 2020.

According to Reid, “it’s hard to believe there’s been a bigger global increase through history. For example during WWII we didn’t have a hugely levered global private sector, only big government debt increases. Obviously, falling GDP will have increased these numbers a little — but on the other side, many countries have offered huge loans, loan guarantees and equity injections which won’t fully show up in these numbers.”

So for today’s edition of Reid’s Chart of the Day, the credit strategist decided to look at these rises by country and across different sectors of the economy so far in 2020. Most of the increases have been from Governments but non-financials have also seen substantial debt increases which makes sense. Households have been shielded a little more, likely due to extensive furlough schemes which show up in the government numbers, and which will only make the final numbers even worse once furloughs expire.

The numbers are simply staggering, especially for the 5 nations at the top, which have all seen their debt increase by over 25% (in debt/GDP) terms in just the past year, with Canada’s 70%+ increase a truly staggering number.

He simply shared the news of the long-anticipated Danish study of over 6,000 randomized people which came to the conclusion: ‘A recommendation to wear a surgical mask when outside the home among others did not reduce, at conventional levels of statistical significance, incident infection compared with no mask recommendation,’“ DeMint wrote in the censored Facebook post.

Lockdown Politics: The Great Travesty

Nearly one year into the COVID pandemic, even a modicum of critical thinking should tell us that lockdown politics as practiced in the United States is an unmitigated disaster, and with no end in sight. The reference here to lockdown politics is meant to signify a particularly assaultive, tyrannical set of government policies that in less than a year have brought severe harm to millions, more likely tens of millions of Americans and others across the world.

Navy Investigation of Pensacola Jihadi Says He Was ‘Self-Radicalized’ And Blames Navy for Being Mean to Him

“But overall, based on the facts and circumstances available during the months-long investigation into Alshamrani’s actions,’no one person or organization knew or could have known Alshamrani would attack active duty service members and civilians at Naval Aviation Schools Command,” the service determined.’“

Of course not. No one could possibly have known. When he said, “I want his head!” about one of his instructors, everyone who heard him knew that it would have been “Islamophobic” to start to wonder if maybe Alshamrani was inclined to jihad. And his superiors didn’t know he had a gun because they were likely tiptoing around him, knowing that there is a heavy price to pay for too much scrutiny of a Muslim officer. In short, Alshamrani’s attack was indeed likely caused in part by a “toxic” command climate, but not because of the instructor’s “unprofessional behavior and harassment.” The “toxic” command climate was the one in which officials are so afraid of charges of “Islamophobia” that they fear to perform due diligence regarding Muslims such as Alshamrani. But this report didn’t address that, and it will not be corrected.

Police: 15-Year-Old Arrested in Mayfair Mall Shooting That Injured 8

WAUWATOSA, Wis. — Wauwatosa police said a 15-year-old was arrested in Friday’s shooting at Mayfair Mall that injured 8. Wauwatosa Police Chief Barry Weber said in an update on Sunday, Nov. 22 this was an altercation between two groups, injuring four “innocent bystanders.”

A Wauwatosa Police Department spokeswoman added Sunday: “Several arrests have been made, but we are still investigating those.”

Chief Weber said the 15-year-old is Hispanic — and a firearm was recovered at the scene of his arrest. Weber said he didn’t release photos of the alleged shooter to preserve the investigation and because an initial investigation did not reveal an immediate danger to the public.

[…]

Investigators said Saturday they were still searching for the man responsible, described by Wauwatosa police as a white man in his 20s or 30s. “Investigators are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend the suspect from yesterday’s shooting at Mayfair Mall,” the Wauwatosa Police Department said in a tweet Saturday…

Sharyl Attkisson on Media Bias

Story at-a-glance

In the 1950s, the CIA ran a covert campaign called “Operation Mockingbird,” in which they recruited journalists as assets to spread propaganda, and while the campaign officially ended in the 1970s, evidence suggests the project never really stopped.

In her book, “Slanted: How the News Media Taught Us to Love Censorship and Hate Journalism,” Sharyl Attkisson addresses one of the most pressing issues of our time: media bias and the deterioration of objective journalism.

Multinational industries, and the drug industry in particular, also wield powerful influence over content relating to their particular interests. As drug advertising became a major income stream for media companies, their reporting on health and medicine became increasingly biased.

Big Tech companies are also masters of censoring anything that might hurt themselves or their technocratic allies.

In terms of health, COVID-19 reporting has taken censorship and media manipulation to brand-new heights. All social media platforms are openly censoring dissenting views about the virus, particularly its origin and treatment. Even lauded doctors and scientists have been axed for speaking against the desired narrative dictated by the World Health Organization

The Democrats Are America’s Biggest Threat, Part 2

Notice that all six States that stopped counting on election night were Democrat. Why did they stop counting? They had to find out how many votes they needed to bring in to override Trump’s massive lead. When everybody went to bed on November 3rd Trump has a 700,000 lead in Pennsylvania and he led in Wisconsin and Michigan but overnight Biden caught up and surpassed Trump. This is a statistical impossibility. This is how Democrats win elections. This is what needs to be exposed and destroyed. America, literally, depends on the destruction of this corruption. What has been put in this series is only scratching the surface of the depth of corruption we are seeing in the Democrat Party concerning elections. Think about this, they are this corrupt with elections, what else are they corrupt in doing? It is a cancer we MUST eliminate.

Are the American Media Legitimizing Terror Attacks in France?

The Financial Times has never understood France grappling with extremist Muslim terrorism and the country’s battle for freedom of expression. After the Charlie Hebdo massacre in 2015, Tony Barber wrote in the Financial Times that the massacred journalists and cartoonists had been “stupid”. The article was then edited.

It recently happened again. The British newspaper removed an article on French President Emmanuel Macron’s anti-Islamist policies. The article, “Macron’s war on Islamic separatism only divides France further”, by Mehreen Khan, appeared in the online version of the newspaper and was then also removed. The piece argued that after two beheadings in Yvelines and Nice, Macron would need six million Muslims in the country to eradicate violent extremism, but that instead, he chose to feed “moral panic”. Clearly, the article postulated, if there are Islamist attacks in France, it must be because its president has been looking for them.

Macron himself thought of attempting to educate the Financial Times.

UK: Fury as Government Uses Twitter Propaganda Tool to Attack the Mail’s COVID Analysis

Anger flared last night after the Department of Health and Social Care’s Twitter account was used in an effort to rubbish a report challenging official scaremongering by analysing key facts about the coronavirus pandemic.

Under the headline ‘Covid: What They Don’t Tell You’, a two-page article in yesterday’s Daily Mail raised multiple questions about the manner in which the Government has dealt with the crisis.

It pointed out that Government predictions on the number of the potential deaths from the virus were wildly inaccurate. In a July report commissioned by Chief Medical Officer Sir Patrick Vallance, scientists predicted that there could be 119,000 fatalities if a second wave coincided with a peak of winter flu — but the actual figure has so far turned out to be less than half of that.

The article also pointed out the number of deaths are not far above average for this time of year and that only 31 per cent of intensive care unit beds in hospitals are currently occupied by Covid patients.

Apple Lobbies Against New Bill That Would Stop Businesses Using Forced Labor in China

Apple lobbyists are trying to undermine a new law targeting the use of forced labor in China. The company insists that it respects human rights but the evidence suggests the opposite.

The bill that Apple is working against is called the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. If it becomes law, US-based companies will not be allowed to use forced and imprisoned labor from the Xinjiang Province in China. According to multiple reports, the Chinese government has put more than one million Uyghur in concentration camps, where they are forced to work in various industries for low pay.

US Urgently Needs to Challenge China’s Chokehold on Rare Earth Materials

One of China’s most significant advantages in the race to dominate future hi-tech industrial production, among just about everything else, is its chokehold on “rare earth materials” (REM). These are materials — and the raw minerals from which they are extracted and processed — vital to the manufacture, for instance, of advanced weapons, fossil-free alternative energy systems, communication devices, computer products, and microelectronic networks.

It is an area in which China has already established dominance . The Chinese Communist Party’s near monopoly on most of these 17 rare earth materials is by now a US national security vulnerability of enormous strategic importance. China’s October 13 decision to curtail the export of these vitally needed rare earth materials should serve as an urgent warning to the US to seriously.

Report: Trump Admin. Planning U.S. Troop Withdrawal From Somalia

The Trump administration is reportedly considering a troop withdrawal in Somalia as part of a larger drawback.

According to U.S. officials speaking on condition of anonymity this week, President Trump is contemplating bringing the nearly 700 American soldiers home. However, it does not appear these plans are finalized and no official orders have been handed down in Somalia from the U.S. military.

This news follows the President’s draw-down in troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, which is a move facing some criticism from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.

Germany: Refugee Center Volunteer Says ‘Refugees Hate Us, They Plot to Islamize Us’

This woman didn’t begin to work with “refugees” because she had some animus against them. She volunteered in order to “give something in return.” Nonetheless, her testimony about what she saw and heard will be dismissed as “Islamophobia” by a heedless and pitiless elite that apparently doesn’t care that it is steering Europe (and North America) toward catastrophe.

“Volunteer: ‘Refugees hate us, they plot to Islamize us,’“ translated from “Volontaria: ‘Profughi ci odiano, complottano per islamizzarci,’“ Vox News, November 19, 2020.

United Nations Tells European Union to Give Vaccines to Migrants

The UN Migration Agency, or International Organization for Migration (IOM), appeared to call on European Union member-states to ensure all migrants in their territory receive coronavirus vaccines, regardless of legal status.

“When we have now news about a vaccine, the challenge that EU European member states are confronted with, is to guarantee access to the vaccine to everybody that is in your territory, not just your citizens, but also all the refugees, displaced people and migrants that are in Europe,” argued Antonio Vitorino, the United Nations agency’s director-general — seeming to suggest that Europe’s largely publicly-funded health services shoulder the cost of vaccinating all migrants, not just those with legal status as refugees.

Appeals Court: Bans on Same-Sex Attraction Therapy Are Unconstitutional

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit ruled 2-1 on Friday that two ordinances which “prohibit therapists from engaging in counseling or any therapy with a goal of changing a minor’s sexual orientation, reducing a minor’s sexual or romantic attractions … or changing a minor’s gender identity” violate the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

UNICEF Finally Admits: “Schools Are Not Main Drivers of COVID Among Children”

One of the easier targets for social demolition by western authoritarians and bureaucracies has been schools.

Aided and abetted by a hysterical mainstream media permanently geared towards maintaining a constant level of public fear, politicians have been able to deceive worried parents and teachers who may genuinely believe that COVID19 poses some sort of overall health threat to children (which it does not), as well as the widely-held canard that asymptomatic children are somehow ‘spreading the virus’ to other adults, the old and vulnerable.

Numerous scientific studies have clearly shown how this is not the case. But by sustaining these widely held myths, governments have been able to successfully level primary and secondary education across the western hemisphere and retard the educational and social development of hundreds of millions of young people in the process.

It is yet unclear why governments have been so keen to do this, but it’s not at all surprising that the populace has gone along with the theatre, especially after being primed by decades of ‘health and safety’ culture and corporatisation of public policy.

It’s crucial to note: all of these findings literally destroy the argument for panic-driven policies like mass testing and mass vaccinations.

After many months of sitting idle on the matter, some institutions, like UNICEF are now speak up.

    • Yes, I was surprised, too. There must have been a contingent there since late 1992. George H.W. Bush sent them there when he was a lame duck, as a special present for the incoming Clinton administration.

      • Both sides of the same party never met a war they didn’t like.

Maybe there can be an exchange; for every one of our soldiers returned to the USA we can return a thousand of their finest to Somalia starting with Ilhan Omar.

        • Of all the places Uncle Sugar sent me(twice) I liked that God forsaken place the least. I say exchange every bloody one of those IQ savages for ours there. As for Omar, more drastic action is needed for that bloody traitor.

          • Thankfully I never deployed there. Many of my 10th MTN DIV brothers had been deployed there though.

Of all the places I deployed to, I despised Afghanistan the most. With the benefits of hindsight, if would have been far better had the US supported the USSR in crushing the islamists in Afghanistan, or at least not interfering while they did so. Such evil and duplicitous people; they’re only excelled in such evil by the Pakistanis of whom they are kin.

          • Fun, innit. Sinai, South Lebanon and the ‘Root. In 1982. Which seemed like the pinnacle of muslim civilization, even while the Boychik’s were systematically drawing and quartering it, compared to Karachi. My gods! We were 170nm back out over the Arabian Sea. Cojo’s sniffing and asking ‘what is that smell!!?’ Words fail me…or, at least polite words, or even mortal-soul endangering ones.
If the godists are correct (my money is on the Scientologists being right, but that Xenu will do a Saturn on his children…) and I commence my plummet into the Pit ( shortly after a hail of police or marxist firing squad SAP )…I know the Fall ends in Karachi.

          • Trust me Moon, Afghanistan was beautiful and enjoyable compared to that dusty barren waste land filled with drugged(khat) up savages that went off right after noon prayers to try and kill you. Heck, even Iraq was better.

          • Kono, Beirut was the absolute sh&&shows of all sh&&shows. 83 when the barracks blew up in front of me. That is how I learned about islam and took it seriously.

  1. UK: ‘Freedom Pass, Please’: Boris to Introduce COVID Passports as More Lockdowns Loom

The British government will reportedly introduce “freedom passes” and specialised passport certificates to people who have tested negative for the Chinese coronavirus, as Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to announce further regional lockdown restrictions following the end of the latest national lockdown in December.

Here we go, this effort by the UK Prime Minister is a way of forcing every single individual to have a test, even though there is a deal of doubt over the evectiveness of the testing (PSR) proceedure and its limits. Next the government will endeavour to bring in a law of kinds to expect every person to have a vaccination-here again as it appears there is still a long way to go with this issue, it would be dangerous to implement such a ruling-Government target set for December vaccinations! Bonkers.
This will follow that if one has not had a vaccination they could prohibited from travelling anywhere, to work, to the shops, to stay in a Hotel, to tavel overseas, this will certainly be the case. Absolute control of the population no matter what. No escape.

    • Sounds like a copy of the old pre 1972 compulsory French travel card. “Carte de Senior” : procédure et formalités demand. Anytime anywhere formality by polite French cops. No problem if you are legal.

  2. 28 years protecting people who as a whole (Moslem majority nation)hate western civilization and live in 4 world status mudhole in a large part because they practice it. Why we under Obama importing the likes of Omar and her tribe to American midwestern states to suck from western welfare tit and use Jihad of lawfare, welfare to help break western cultural when they alliance with BLM, bore rich white college anarchist , “democratic ” leaders who are really communist .

  3. Misogyny. The real threat comes from those females who will secretly continue to collaborate with men. Females generally will have to find reasons to stay at home protected. A real challenge in wartime.

    • Femininism is CANCER, so says Milo Yiannopolous. Despite his history I agree with him. And the METOO movement is just women with regrets that they had sex with many men but want to play the victimhood game.. You should see the “woman” who started that movement. She looks like the missing link.

  4. Sidney Powell is registered as a MILITARY LAWYER and is the only one who can prosecute TREASON at a TRIBUNAL!”
november 23, 2020 the marshall report
So don’t let spin doctors and fake media tell you lies about the woman who is bringing down the giants in the swamp! And there are a great number of them, more than anyone could have imagined!

Powell stated that the ‘New World Order’ has ‘OVERTHROWN The Republican Party’ and that the Republican Party sold its soul to the “New World Order” in return for large cash payments in the form of “enormous bribes.” Sidney Powell warned the GOP risks being “neutered like a bitch” by “the Great Reset” in 2021 if President Trump’s second term is stolen from him by “children of darkness.”

      • I am no longer sold on Nikki Haley after her tepid defense of Trump following the stolen election. I do like Candice Owens though. Also the governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem would be a very good candidate to follow Trump. She refused to shut down the state or even order the wearing of face muzzles after the wuhan virus hysteria.
